Is long haul the best option for a hot holiday in April?
While you can find some warm weather in Europe come April, if you’re looking for somewhere really hot your best option will be to venture further afield.
April is a perfect time to visit the Caribbean, when it’s quieter than the peak season and still offers lovely warm weather. If you really want to keep your flying time short, though, the Canary Islands are one of the hottest places in Europe during Easter, while the Costa del Sol offers plenty of daily sunshine.
Island living in Barbados
April temperature: 28°C
Season: Dry season
Flight time from UK: 8 hours and 25 minutes
Time difference: GMT -4
At 28°C, we’re starting off the list with a scorcher.
Barbados is one of our top destinations in the month of April. Its Caribbean weather and atmosphere is a cure for the spring shower blues that you’ll leave behind in the UK. With April sitting just toward the end of the peak season, it’s an ideal time to visit, with beautiful weather and fewer crowds.
With a host of relaxing luxury hotels, water activities where you can meet the local fish and some of the tastiest food in the Caribbean, Barbados has so much going for it for an April escape.
Of course, during April you can also make the most of the dry weather at the soft sand beaches on the west side of the island. Ideal if you’re travelling with children at Easter, the waves here are gentle and the shore is sheltered.
If you’re planning to visit as a couple, why not stay at Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels? This adult-only all-inclusive boutique resort will give you the time and space you need to unwind whilst enjoying the complimentary watersports and the Treasure Art Crawl. For a few special nights out, you could hop on the complimentary water taxi to the resort’s selected sister properties and make use of the Dine Around programme, allowing you to taste the best of the island as part of your all-inclusive.

Rest and relaxation in Mauritius
April temperature: 25°C
Season: End of summer
Flight time from UK: 12 hours
Time difference: GMT +4
Mauritius is an island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of the African continent, with beautiful hilly landscapes, splashing waterfalls, white sand beaches and crystalline water. The temperature stays at an average of 25°C in April and, as summer is coming to an end, the rainfall begins to tail off.
One of the benefits about visiting this beautiful country in April is that for snorkelling, scuba diving and deep sea game-fishing, visibility is at it’s best due to calmer seas.
So much of the coastline in Mauritius is untouched, leaving it as a pure paradise with plenty of opportunities to unwind. The island is also spectacular for outdoor activities; take a two-hour hike and climb up Le Pouce to see St. Louis from all perspectives or see the country on a Jeep safari through the stunning rainforests.
Mauritius is the perfect destination for a luxurious, relaxing holiday with lots of 5-star resorts that focus on health and wellbeing. One of these is the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita with it’s private, secluded setting. Each of the residences on the property have private gardens and pools for you to enjoy.
Eco-friendly stargazing in western Australia
April temperature: 26°C
Flight time from UK: To Perth on the west coast is around 18 and a half hours.
Time difference: GMT +8
Now for something a little different, but no less spectacular.
Do you want to get away from it all, feel one with nature and enjoy quiet time by the ocean?
We suggest venturing down under to western Australia. The weather here in April is hot during the day with endless amounts to see and do. One of the amazing things about this side of the world is the wild open landscapes and the native wildlife such as kangaroos.
To see the best of the wilderness, you’ll want to head to the outback visiting places like Exmouth, Ningaloo Reef and the Cape Range National Park. From here you can swim with whale sharks from late March through to July, stargaze under the twinkling sky with no light pollution and explore through the winding gorges in the Australian bush.
This remote western Australia location is best experienced by fully immersing yourself. Stay at the eco-friendly Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef where you’ll have the best of both worlds – the glinting ocean in front of you and the wilderness behind you. At Sal Salis, you’ll have the opportunity to stay in off-the-grid luxury tents on an all-inclusive basis, with activities, food and drinks being unlimited.
Family fun in Thailand
April temperature: 29°C
Season: Hot season
Flight time from UK: 11 hours and 30 minutes
Time difference: GMT +7
One of Asia’s most popular resort destinations, Phuket is Thailand’s largest island located off its southern coast in the Andaman Sea, renowned for its many superb beaches, rocky capes, mountains and forested hills.
Perfect for family holidays during Easter, resorts include the 5-star Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket. Here all ages will have plenty to do, including land and watersports, cooking classes and exploring the islands. Phuket is a great base for exploring the nearby islands and must-see attractions, including world-famous places like Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands.
One of our favourite excursions is exploring Hong Island, one of the most beautiful islands along the Andaman coast. In the middle of this beautiful island lies a hidden lagoon. These majestic rocks rise dramatically out of the sea and are interspersed with mangroves and fascinating hidden caves. Get up close to the caves by a guided sea canoe and by long tail boat.
For more island-hopping, take in the larger Phi Phi Don and the smaller Phi Phi Ley islands by speedboat. Phi Phi Ley was the setting for the Hollywood film ‘The Beach’, which was shot mainly at the picturesque Maya Bay. At Phi Phi Don discover the amazing limestone cliffs, long sandy beaches and the clear emerald water.
5. Twin-centre bliss in the British Virgin Islands & Antigua
April temperature: 26°C
Season: Dry season
Flight time from UK: 8 hours and 15 minutes
Time difference: GMT +4
How does a holiday to two incredible Caribbean islands sound for Easter?
With year-round sunshine, sparkling sea landscapes and luxurious hotels, there’s so much to love about the Caribbean in April. For a true escape, look to the British Virgin Islands.
Take your first step into your holiday at Rosewood Little Dix Bay, an eco-conscious resort located on a stunning crescent beach in total tranquil surroundings. From here, you can head into the water with snorkelling gear or a kayak. If you’d like to visit some more remote beaches on the British Virgin Islands, then head out on the resort’s boat drops and lounge with your family in peace and quiet.
One of the other incredible pastimes in the BVIs is sailing; take a full day out on the resort’s yacht (Vision) where you can dine al fresco, watch the glorious sunsets and experience the sea close up.
Make your Caribbean trip even more magnificent by turning it into a twin-centre and visiting Antigua‘s ultra-luxurious and all-inclusive Jumby Bay Island. Enjoy movies under the stars as you sip on iced cocktails, explore the island with your complimentary bike and join the weekly white party with live DJ and Caribbean beach BBQ.
Living it up in Miami
April temperature: 26°C
Flight time from UK: 9 hours and 20 minutes
Time difference: GMT -5
The best time to visit Miami is March to May when the temperatures hover around the mid 20’s and rainfall stays relatively low, giving you all the time in the world to soak up the heavenly beach vibes during an Easter break in April.
Miami is famed for it’s beautiful beach scenery, but there’s more to Miami than just sun and sand. If you love to shop until you drop, head to the Bal Harbour, Aventura Mall, Lincoln Road and Brickell Centre and outlet mall at Sawgrass Mills.
Visit unique neighbourhoods such as Little Havana, the Design District, and the Street Art of Wynwood Walls for a taste of culture in the area; make sure you pick up a cortadito coffee and stop by the excellent Cuban restaurants in the city. Miami is the perfect place to be for evening entertainment from varied nightlife attractions to superb mouth-watering restaurants.
The fun doesn’t stop there. We suggest heading outside the city for a day trip – take in the Everglades or view Miami from a seaplane. The other fantastic option, being so close to the water, is sailing a luxury yacht around the bay, soaking up the sun and drinking Pina Colada.
If you decide to stay in Miami, our Travel Experts suggest The Faena Hotel. Nestled right in the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach, the Faena is a unique and charming property with endless highlights including its own theatre, nightclub bars and the artistry that’s shown off in every room of the property. It’s also a wonderful place for people watching and relaxing during the day!

14 BEST Countries to Visit in April
Looking for the best places to visit in April? Whether you’re after beaches, the desert, or the green countryside, we have you covered with some amazing destinations. There are plenty of beautiful countries to visit in April.
This time of the year can be an excellent time to travel. It’s still low season in many places, but winter is finally nearing its end, and spring is usually full force. Because it’s not prime season in most places of the world you can generally find a deal on things like accommodation and tours. You’ll also find the crowds are much lower than during the busy summer season.
I bet you didn’t think I would start out with Iceland – did you? Iceland can be one of the best places to visit in April. Days grow longer this month, and the Icelanders can almost smell the sweet summer air. Although the sun and warm weather are almost there, it still has a month to go until proper summer.
However, despite a few rainy days, April is the best time to visit Iceland for whale watching as it is the beginning of the whale season. There are plenty of whale-watching tours departing from Reykjavik.
You stand a great chance to see the minke whale up close! I should also mention April brings puffin season too. Since it is still off-season in Iceland during this time, you may be able to score some reasonable low-season rates on hotels, rental cars, and campervans!
April sees a definite increase in temperatures in Greece, with a sunny start to the month and only a few rainy days scattered here and there. It’s an excellent time of year to go to Greece. You beat the summer crowds but also miss winter’s colder, wetter weather. The average temperature in Athens is 20°C, but after dark, it still drops quite a bit to 10°C. The sea is around 16°C, so it may be too cold to swim for a long time. However, you can still get some relaxing sunbathing in.
The sunset is around 8 pm, so you get long, beautiful days if you want more heat, head south, like to the island of Crete! The only downside of traveling the Greek islands in April is that the summer high season has yet to kick in, meaning many tourist-focused businesses may not be open. The upside? You’ll have the islands to yourself!
April in Cyprus is similar to the rest of the Mediterranean. The average temperature suddenly jumps to around 17°C, but it can easily reach the low 20s on really nice days.
There are long hours of sunshine every day, and it’s not too hot yet, making this a beautifully balanced time of year to visit Cyprus. Sure, April brings a little bit of isolated rain across the country, but it’s generally pretty nice, and the beaches will be dead quiet.
Except for around easter when many visitors turn up in places like Ayia Napa from across Europe thanks to the Easter Vacation period for schools, it’s nothing compared to Cyprus beaches in the summer.
Fall is just around the corner in South Africa in April, but it’s not here yet, and it’s a great time to be in South Africa. The whole country is starting to cool down after an otherwise hot summer. But fall here won’t be like it is where you may be from. The average temperature in South Africa is 18°C, so it’s not freezing and is pleasant enough to enjoy any romantic activity in Cape Town.
Some evenings, however, the average temperature drops to 12°C. Bring layers for this time. When you get into the desert areas on safari, you will want a warm down jacket for nighttime. The seas are still reasonably warm, so surfing is a fun option and one of the best things to do on the South African coast. If you love surfing, the temperature (19°C) won’t be anywhere near stopping you.
It’s a great time of year for sightseeing and birdwatching; KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, in particular, this time of year is stunning.
The Maldives is always a dream destination and one of the best countries to visit in April. During April, temperatures in the Maldives are an average of 29°C, and nighttime temperatures are about 26°C; you still won’t need anything to keep you warm in the evening.
If you like snorkeling and diving, you are also in luck in the Maldives in April – the sea climbs up to the hottest it gets all year – 30°C. That’s hotter than the air temperature! Crazy. It’s all about chilling on the beaches, and watersports, and enjoying the great weather. The Maldives is one of the most beautiful best places to travel in April!
Japan is always considered one of the best countries to visit in April!
Early April is the “main” start for hanami in Japan – cherry blossom viewing season. People will start spreading their blue tarpaulins from Hiroshima to Tokyo under the pink, blooming trees, arranging themselves with friends and plenty of snacks (and drinks) to celebrate the warmer weather.
There’s even an actual forecast for cherry blossom on the TV weather in Japan. The general rule of thumb is that the further south you are, the earlier it starts.
One thing to note: places like Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, and Tokyo get very busy and crowded with tourists. People come to see the famous sights layered with the quintessential light pink of cherry blossom. All in all, April is a great time to visit Japan for the cherry blossoms.
April also signals an end to the drier weather of winter. The skies get more cloudy, it starts raining more, but then again, hiking to some beautiful Japanese waterfalls this time of year is much more pleasurable than in the cold. Wet weather gear, like a packable rain jacket, is advisable. Or do as Japanese people do and have your umbrella handy!
On the other hand, it gets warm enough for the beaches to open down in Okinawa. If you’re a fan of uncrowded beaches, this might be an excellent time to visit Okinawa – especially in late April.
April is when spring properly begins in Jordan – even the desert offers up a view of myriad wildflowers. This is an excellent time of year to visit Jordan; temperatures aren’t too warm, and even the nights aren’t that cold anymore.
Being such a “perfect” time of year to visit weather-wise, this also means that it’s popular with tourists, and sights begin to get busy. However, if you don’t mind crowds, Jordan is a great place to visit in April. Amman is a comfortable 22°C, as is Petra; the Dead Sea and Aqaba are reaching temperatures of 30°C by now. There’s nothing better than walking in Wadi Rum during the middle of the day and not sweating your buns too!
Portugal is another one of the best countries to visit in April. It is a beautiful spring month in Portugal; this is the month when you’ll get to enjoy some good Easter celebrations, too. Weather-wise, it’s getting good in April. Lisbon hits highs of 20°C, but be warned; it can still get quite cold in the evenings. It’s a great time of year to visit Portugal, especially the countryside or the Algarve.
Spring flowers will bloom, and the land will burst into life, preparing for summer. Days are starting to get longer as well: at the start of April, the sun sets at 8 pm, but by the end of the month, it’s more like 8:40 pm, meaning lots of time for adventure!
If you are looking for somewhere in South America to head in April, consider Peru! April is another dry and sunny month for Peru’s coastal regions and the deserts. Lima sees highs of 24°C and lows of 18°C. It’s shoulder season in the country, and things should be a little cheaper and less busy.
The rainy season starts to ease off in the Andes in places like Lake Titicaca and Cusco. There’s a high of about 19°C, and there’s still quite a lot of cloud cover, but the natural scenery is beautiful here. The Amazon Rainforest is still hot and humid, with highs of 31°C; rain occurs in the afternoon either in downpours or all-out storms. All in all, it’s a great time to visit Peruvian sights like Machu Picchu!
April is a great time to visit Turkey. The country sees the start of spring begin to happen, and the temperatures start to reflect that. The average high across the country is 15°C (nights being about 8°C).
Days continue to get longer, with the sunset inching towards 8 pm as April closes and we get nearer to summer. Since it’s a few months from complete summer, crowds are low, helpful in popular places like Istanbul and Cappadocia.
For warmer weather at this time of year, coastal regions – particularly the south – are where it’s at. Marmaris and Antalya see averages of 21°C in April, and the sea is a bearable 18°C if you want to take a swim. There’s still rain, and the weather can generally be pretty changeable, especially in more inland and mountainous areas. Silver lining – it’s tulip season in Turkey!
One of the best places to visit in April is Sri Lanka. It’s the last month of “prime” tourist season; however, April is when Sri Lanka’s monsoon season starts, but it’s still a great time to visit, especially towards the beginning of the month.
Settling in towards the end of the month, rain increases and is pretty much a daily feature till June. The southern and western coasts are the first areas of Sri Lanka to see an increase in rain. Kandy gets temperatures around the mid-twenties and is prime for trekking: try out trails in the Knuckles Mountain Range.
That being said, if you get there before the 15th of the month, most of April is generally pretty warm and sunny, with temperatures in the early 30s and plenty of sunshine to get out there and enjoy!
What is one of the best countries to visit in April? Egypt! April is a month of change weather-wise making it an enjoyable time to visit. Alexandria and other northern areas lack humidity and now see warm, sunny days with only a bit of patchy rain here and there.
Cairo is warm, with some rain, average temperatures of 24°C (though it can drop to 14°C at night), and exceptionally high humidity – 60 to 70%. Interested in a Nile River Cruise or want to visit Bedouin villages? Then April would be an excellent time to book your Egypt vacation and explore all the best things to do in Egypt!
Hong Kong is a place like no other, and there are so many things to do there you’ll never get bored. You could spend a layover here or enjoy the month in Hong Kong and find delicious food on every corner, incredible hikes, and fun nightlife.
April is spring in Hong Kong, meaning it is beautiful to visit. Spring is also shoulder season, so it will be less crowded, but still expect to find crowds – it’s Hong Kong, after all. Each new street brings something new and exciting. The food, the sights, the buildings, and the textures, make Hong Kong a must-visit destination in April!
Utah, United States
Utah is one of the best places to visit in April, especially if you want to hike in the desert. The last time we traveled to Utah, we were so happy that we were there in early April. The sun was plentiful, and the temperatures were perfect for getting outside.
From hiking Angels Landing in Zion National Park to seeing Delicate Arch in Arches National Park around Moab and jetting off on all the best hikes in Bryce, there were only two things we could think about…
How amazing the landscapes were and how brutally hot it must be in July and August. If you want to get to the American Southwest, we highly recommend venturing there in April before the weather gets too warm. Not only is April fantastic in the desert, but if you head north, you can still get some fantastic skiing in at all the impressive Salt Lake City ski resorts!

In April, with highs that can sometimes reach 29 °.

Moreover, apart from the flight, the costs in Vietnam are quite low: a fish dinner costs about € 15.00 per couple, a good hotel or b & b also costs about € 40.00 per night.
April is the ideal month because temperatures are very pleasant (22/28 °), and we are out of the risk of cyclones that will occur the following month, although in the north they are more frequent in July-August.

Its capital, Bridgetown, is located along the coast and is one of the most important centers of the island; if you are an alcohol lover, you cannot miss the opportunity to taste the local rum, one of the best known in the world: be careful not to overdo it!

Overlooking the Red Sea this suggestive city, which stretches for 40 km along the coast, without disdaining its proximity, though not exaggerated, to the renowned desert. A former fishing village, today Hurghada is one of the most popular destinations for tour operators, especially European ones, who design all-inclusive packages specially designed for lovers of water sports, very popular in the locality.

It is possible to swim practically all year round in the various Philippine islands, thanks to the tropical climate that favors, especially in the period between December and April, the massive arrival of tourists from all over the world.

Along with March, April is the month of Sakura, the cherry blossom, which invades all of Japan with rose petals. The landscape that appears looks like something out of a manga, with flower festivals (Hanami) in all the city parks. Here, in fact, the Japanese organize picnics on the lawn, the stores are filled with the colors of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
In Kyoto you can follow the suggestive “Philosopher’s Path”, which runs along a canal lined with cherry blossom trees, Osaka can admire the landscape of the Castle surrounded by blossoming trees … in short, a unique spectacle.

Just off the coast of Thailand, in the Gulf of Thailand (Gulf of Siam), there are small islands not far from each other and have recently been opened to the general public. Mostly unspoiled paradises, with dream beaches and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.
Koh Tao, known as “Turtle Island”, is the smaller of the two. The hills alternate with coconut plantations, lush vegetation and intimate bays and still intact.
Koh Samui, the third largest in Thailand, as well as for its beaches, is known for its tropical rainforest hinterland and lively nightlife. Although it is among the country’s most touristy destinations, the landscape remains fairly pristine and the jungle still dominates.
In both cases, prices on the island are quite affordable, but flights are not. You make a stopover in Bangkok and then with a domestic flight you get to Koh Samui, for a total that barely falls below 600.00 €.

Forests, Caribbean beaches, will be the backdrop of a vacation in a destination not always at the center of the mass tourist circuits, but this is usually a good thing.
From Panama City with the Casco Viejo neighborhood, the old city, you will already notice the extraordinary combination that is experienced here: a North American skyline resting on an entirely Caribbean bay.
An extraordinary characteristic of Panama is the presence of a very numerous avifauna, with birds and mammals of all species. Therefore, it will not be difficult to find toucans, monkeys, sloths and other national symbols.

UAE in April 2022. Where to rest? Weather and reviews
The climate in the United Arab Emirates is tropical, desert. Here are incredibly hot, hot and dry months of summer, during which the thermometer can rise up to 50 ° C. And in winter, the temperature here varies in values of 20-23 °C.
It is worth noting that spring months of the year are the most favorable for a visit to the UAE. Travelers with a cultural and educational purpose or lovers of a measured beach holiday should stop choosing a month for a trip in favor of April, which is considered by tourists to be a high, “velvet” season. This month in the United Arab Emirates is characterized by less debilitating climatic features, such as the end of May, when the air begins to warm up to critical levels.
In April, there is an ideal ratio of water and air temperatures in the daytime and at night, precipitation and increased wind are practically excluded, and low humidity will not make you feel uncomfortable. The thermometer in the daytime rises to an average of + 32 ° C, and at night does not fall below 24 degrees Celsius. And the water heats up to 25 ° C, which is the most comfortable indicator for both adults and young vacationers.
In the spring, the UAE is dominated by the sandstorm season. This mesmerizing sight in the form of an immense and impenetrable veil covering everything in its path, including sunlight, is breathtaking and attracts many tourists who are eager to capture shots of the majesty of the elements.
According to the opinions of tourists who visited the UAE in April, the weather is wonderful in the middle of spring in Arab resorts. Temperature during the day from +32°C and above. At night, the thermometer drops to +20°C. Due to the large temperature difference, you will have a rest from the heat, you can go on excursions and take a walk by the sea.
Because of the climatic features in the resorts of the Persian Gulf it is 2-3°C hotter than on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. Everywhere you can get a good tan. In April, the sun burns strongly, so choose morning and afternoon hours for sunbathing. Be sure to use a cream with a high degree of protection!
Sasha Pokolodny: “We thought it would be much hotter. We were lucky – during the day it was a maximum of + 35 ° С, sometimes the sky was covered with light clouds. In the first 2 days they managed to burn out.”
However, the resort of Abu Dhabi is famous for its hotter climate. The air temperature here on an April day can reach 37 ° C, and the water can warm up to 28 ° C.
And in the emirate called Fujairah you can about the temperature than in neighboring resorts. The thermometer on the coasts of Fujairah rises to an average of 31 ° C, and the temperature of the water is based on around 24 ° C. Therefore, for holidays with young children, it is recommended to choose the west coast.
In April, in the resorts of the United Arab Emirates, a weather feature appears in the morning and evening hours of thick, and sometimes completely impenetrable fog. This phenomenon is explained by the intense heating of the environment, due to which the moisture accumulated during the “cooler” months from various surfaces evaporates in an accelerated mode.
In April, the United Arab Emirates has a great beach holiday. Warm sea. The average water temperature in Dubai is +27°С, and in Fujairah +21…+23°С. Swimming is very comfortable even for the most heat-loving people!
Vladimir and Kristina: “Beaches are mostly paid. Everywhere is clean. The water is warm, and the entrance to the sea is gradual.”
Eugene: “You can save yourself from the heat in the shade or in the water. The sea is very cool. We swam from morning to evening, and only after sunset we walked around the city.

In all emirates, the air warms up by the end of the month, but it is not very noticeable. As for the water temperature in the UAE, it makes sense to swim in April in Sharjah, Dubai, and other Emirates. The Persian, Oman gulfs are warmed up to, and in the daytime they warm up even higher by a couple of degrees. . Here the water is warmed up to just , although the resort itself is one of the hottest.
If we talk about the weather in general, then April in the UAE compared to the period of January-March is the warmest and most comfortable for rest. This is the time when beach and sightseeing types of recreation are ideally combined. But more on that below.
How to dress for the weather
In April, the weather in the UAE is warm. Comfortable in beach clothes during the day. In the evenings, especially in the resorts of the Omani coast, you may need trousers, a sweatshirt or a fleece.
When choosing clothes for a trip to the Emirates, be sure to take into account Arab traditions. Dubai is aimed at European tourists, and the dress code is looked at softer here. In the more conservative Sharjah, outside the hotel area, tourists try to adhere to local rules. Men wear long trousers, a T-shirt or a short-sleeved shirt. Women wear clothes that cover their shoulders and knees.
Alyona: “First of all, we dreamed of taking a dip in the warm sea. However, we found very cool weather. I had to get out of my luggage not a swimsuit, but a warm cardigan! It turned out that there had been a sandstorm the previous few days.”
- How much does a holiday in Dubai cost? the rest will be very pleasant and will live up to expectations one hundred percent. Tourists who have already vacationed in the Emirates in April leave completely rave reviews about the UAE, and about any of the resorts. Yes, and you can see with your own eyes that the rest in the middle of spring in
Dubai, Sharjah or Fujairah is in demand, according to the number of travelers in April.
Sometimes it’s so empty that you can even take a wheelchair and ride around the mosque. Kidding! It’s never empty here

Where to go on vacation in April in Russia
traveling in Russia raises no questions, then April is often considered unsuitable for travel. This is an erroneous judgment, we will try to prove the opposite and tell you where to go in April if you have free days.
April is the off-season month, characterized by unstable weather in central Russia. But there are many places in our country for which April is the best time to visit. Choose from a variety of offers from tour operators a suitable region where to relax in Russia in the second month of spring.
Traveling here will impress the most sophisticated tourists and make them feel like pioneers. True, in a lighter version – a MI-8 helicopter will deliver travelers to the geographical point of the North Pole, as soon as the weather conditions allow it – fortunately, in April, even here they are not extreme. But even before the flight to the destination of the tour there will be a lot of polar exotics, including the accommodation of the hikers in heated tents for
As soon as possible, the MI-8 helicopter will take you to the area of the geographic North Pole (approximate flight time 40 minutes). At this point, you will spend about an hour celebrating the achievement of the goal. Then the group will return to the ice base. The fact that you have visited the North Pole will be evidenced by a certificate that will be awarded at a solemn ceremony held in the northernmost cafe – Polar Cafe Barneo.
A trip to this northern archipelago combines both active recreation and an excursion component. Traveling along it, seeing the sights, getting acquainted with nature and the animals living here, tourists will be on snowmobiles – winter is in no hurry to leave these places. But the average temperature in April is only -13oC, quite comfortable for such a holiday. you will learn what a polar day is, walk along the roads of the Pomors. Visit Cape Starostina – it bears the name of a Pomeranian fisherman who gave Svalbard most of his life. His camp has been reconstructed today and welcomes tourists. you will be able to visit the fishing hut, which is still relevant today and used for its intended purpose. An interesting tour of the village of miners who mine coal in the northernmost mine in Russia.
In the footsteps of the Pomors

For those who love winter activities – skiing, snowmobiling – it’s too early to cover them in April. Buy a tour to the Khibiny, get to Murmansk, and then to Kirovsk, and these low mountains of the Kola Peninsula will meet you, still covered with snow, and it remains in a “working” state until the beginning of summer. So in April you can go skiing and enjoy snowmobiling, the weather at this time is sunny, the thermometer does not fall below -6 ° C during the day, and daylight hours last long enough. The tracks are laid on gentle slopes. In addition to active recreation, you will find a lot of attractions, including the Polar Alpine Botanical Garden with unique flora and the Snow Village, built entirely of ice. Prices here are relatively inexpensive, you can get to the peninsula by plane, train, and car.
This region is beautiful in any season, people come here all year round. In April, instead of winter activities, you will be offered other entertainment – trips through the forests on powerful ATVs. The routes are laid in such a way that the trip is not monotonous – the terrain is constantly changing, some natural beauties replace others. The cross-country ability of ATVs allows you to look into places that are hard to reach by conventional transport. Warm weather, which is already set this month, gives the green light to lovers of rafting of varying difficulty. Even beginners will enjoy rafting or catamaran descent along a full-flowing, relatively calm river with rapids of low difficulty, but sufficient to tickle the nerves of beginners. You can try yourself in rock climbing by buying a combined or multitour.
It’s already warm in April in Altai, snow tracks are destroyed even high in the mountains, but there is something to do here in this spring month. You can come to rest in one of the many health resorts, where you will have a course recovery.
Hiking in the surroundings and various excursions are also offered. You can climb the mountains by cable car and take unique pictures of the Altai nature there. For those who come in search of adrenaline, tour operators offer rafting and catamaran rafting along the wayward Katun, overcoming many rapids with eloquent names – “Toadstool”, “Shabash”, etc. Already the first threshold called “Ilgumen”, stretching for 500 meters , whose shafts reach a height of three meters, will make the rafting participants nervous. But experienced instructors will help you overcome any obstacles. On the way, there will be halts in the most picturesque places and an overnight stay on a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by century-old pines.

Krasnoyarsk Territory Putorana Plateau
In April, a winter expedition is also possible, if this is the Krasnoyarsk Territory and your path lies on the Putorana Plateau. You can get there even before mid-May on a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile. The plateau with frozen waterfalls – more accurately called icefalls – is known for its unique majestic landscapes, for which it is worth overcoming a long journey. Night frosts, snowstorms and the danger of avalanches due to daytime thaws can spoil the April trip. The group is accommodated at the Bunisyak base in double and triple rooms with stove heating and a toilet on the street – sissies will not be comfortable here.
If you are in a hurry for summer, go to the North Caucasus. In April, it is almost always sunny and dry here, the daytime temperature is already + 15 ° С, at night + 6 ° С. Short-term fluctuations in both directions are possible. Warm clothes taken in reserve will help you always feel comfortable. You can choose active, sightseeing or combined rest. The region is rich in historical and cultural attractions, in particular, Lermontov places, as well as sanatoriums and resorts. In addition, you can go mountain climbing or go hiking or horse riding in the surrounding area, climb Mount Mashuk, visit Proval – an underground cave with a mineral lake.
Sochi and Adygea
In April, you can go to the Krasnodar Territory, for example, to Sochi or Adygea. At this time, you will find the region in bloom – young emerald grass and fragrant gardens strewn with flowers will please the eye. Of course, it’s too early to plan a beach vacation – the sea has not warmed up, and the daytime temperature is still rising to + 15 ° С. In the second half of the month it gets warmer, but so far you can swim only in the hotel pool or in the water park. But there are a lot of pluses of the April vacation spent in Sochi. Firstly, there are no crowds of tourists, no one will bother you to calmly explore any sights of the city and its environs. In addition, the cost of excursions, accommodation and even prices in cafes during this period are lower than during the peak of the summer season.
Active tours of the surrounding area – on foot, horseback or jeep – are also popular. You can take a child on a trip and go to the waterfalls on the Rufabgo River, as well as visit the beautiful Mishoko Gorge and the extreme park of the same name, St. Michael’s Monastery and the famous Lago-Naki plateau. Accommodation is offered in modern hotels. Right on the spot, you can complement your vacation with rafting or horseback riding.
The peninsula is beautiful in April – daytime comfortable weather is +11°C at the beginning of the month and almost 20 degrees at the end, the bright gentle sun is shining, nature is awakening. There are still few tourists, so it is good to take advantage of this moment for cultural and sightseeing holidays. Without queues and at seasonally discounted prices, you can see many historical, architectural, and natural monuments. You can also go on a hiking or cycling tour along interesting routes, breathing in the healing Crimean air, exploring unfamiliar regions of Crimea under the supervision of an instructor.
In addition to the above destinations, you can also go to the Southern Urals or the mountainous Bashkiria, where you will be offered horse rides or quad bike safaris, acquaintance with the history of the region and the local ethnic group.
