US Cities With Best Weather

by Liz Osborn CurrentResults.com

For many people, climate is one of the biggest considerations in choosing a city to visit, move to, or for retirement. Use these lists to find cities with the best weather in the United States for each season and month.

The lists here apply research results to select which of America’s major cities have the best weather. Studies have found that most people prefer the same kind of city weather.

To make the list, a city has monthly averages that include maximum temperatures of 68 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 26 degrees Celsius) and less than one day a week with rain. Each city also has light winds, averaging under 10 miles per hour (16 kilometres an hour) and gets more sun than most other US cities.

As noted for each season, a few cities on the lists lie just outside of these climatic ideals, but still rank among those having the best weather.

The 40 major cities that were evaluated for the best weather rankings are all cities in the United States with over 440,000 people on July 1, 2006, according to the US Census Bureau’s estimates.

While these lists are just of large US cities, any places nearby that have similar geography likely share their good weather.

A traveler who visited 79 countries chose the largest cities with the best climate

06/28/2020 07:47

Surely every person thought about what country is best suited for life. It is impossible to objectively select the most comfortable states, since all of them have their own selection criteria: salaries, the environmental component, the level of medicine, and so on. But one traveler who visited 79 countries around the world compiled his own ranking of the best cities based on climatic conditions. Which of them are the most attractive will be discussed below.

Who is our hero?

Peter Wade is a writer and director based in the small English town of Brentwood. The guy loves traveling and maintains his own blog, in which he talks about his travels around the world. He has been to many places, so he can judge which country or a particular city is the best for life.

Recently, he published an article on his website. In it, he spoke about some cities in which, in his opinion, good living conditions. The basis of his research was the climate. Many will say that the size of the average salary is much more important, but Peter does not think so. He is of the opinion that money plays a secondary role in our lives, so you should not get too hung up on it.

Why climate?

It is much easier to adapt to regions with good weather conditions. Extreme heat or severe frosts negatively affect not only the family budget, because you have to spend extra money on heating or cooling housing, as well as on the purchase of suitable clothes, but also on health. Therefore, the priority criterion for choosing a place for permanent residence is precisely the climate.

Ideal cities for living

Everyone has their own preferences regarding temperature and weather conditions. Peter feels comfortable when it’s 18-19 outsidedegrees Celsius. His wife, on the contrary, prefers hot and humid climate.

But according to the latest research by scientists, the most optimal temperature for the human body is 22 degrees, at which the body does not have to spend a lot of energy on heating or cooling. From these data, Peter and repelled when compiling his rating.

Cartago in Costa Rica is considered the most suitable city for living in Peter. Its population is 164 thousand people, and the average annual air temperature is 23.5 degrees.

In second place is the Spanish city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a population of 378,517. The maximum air temperature here in summer is 26 degrees, and the minimum in winter is 20.

San Diego in California occupies the honorable third place in the rating. It is a large metropolitan area with a population of 1,436,790 people. The hottest month is September, when the temperature outside rises to 25 degrees, and the coldest is December, when the thermometer shows 18.9 degrees outside.

These cities, according to Peter Wade, are ideal for a comfortable life. Therefore, if the main thing for you when choosing a place of residence is the climate, then you can safely move here.

Remember that first of all in any city you should feel comfortable and cozy.
