Jandía Peninsula

The entire southern part of Fuerteventura is called Península de Jandía. The peninsula is separated from the rest of the island by the isthmus “Istmo de La Pared” of only 5 kilometers width. In addition to the tourist area in the southwest on the peninsula, there is also the Jandía Natural Park with its mighty elevations. The Playa Esquinzo-Butihondo beach is located just in front of the hotel rows of Esquinzo. The bright sandy beach is very shallow, so that it is suitable for children. The crystal-clear water also throws some waves, so that water sports are not neglected either. The beach Playa las Gaviotas begins in the district of Las Gaviotas, then turns into the Playa de Jandía, and finally ends as Playa Matorral at the entrance of Morro Jable. This contiguous beach section is about 4 kilometers long and impresses with its bright sand and shallow depth of the sea. Its special feature is the width of the beach. Here you will find enough space at any time, without having to lie towel to towel with the neighbors. Nudism is allowed.
