About Fuerteventura:

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Spanish Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, situated off the northwest coast of Africa.

Declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2009, Fuerteventura is blessed with the archipelago’s most stunning beaches, a ruggedly beautiful landscape and over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year.

It has also long been admired as a top destination for visitors interested in cultural heritage thanks to its large number of centuries-old mansions and beautiful churches.

Fuerteventura has a large number of ports along its coast, making it an excellent departure point for the rest of the Canary Islands. Also, with the routes operated by a range of excellent ferry companies, there’s no shortage of sailing options.

About Lanzarote:

The fourth largest of the Canary Islands of Spain, Lanzarote is the northernmost and easternmost of the archipelago.

Located just seventy miles from North Africa, Lanzarote has a mild climate making it the perfect destination for a holiday, any time of year.

If you are travelling to Lanzarote by ferry from mainland Spain then there’s a choice of ports and ferry companies available. The Canaries are quite a long way from the Spanish mainland which results in a lengthy crossing duration and relatively high fares however the ships are generally modern with plenty to do on board, so the crossing is pleasant.

Getting to Lanzarote from within the Canary Islands is relatively easy with neighboring Fuerteventura providing the shortest and most regular option. From other islands such as Gran Canaria, La Palma and Tenerife there are a number of companies operating scheduled ferry crossings to Lanzarote.

In the south of the island there is an old fishing village, now it is one of the resort areas of Lanzarote. Today I propose to see photos of this village, as well as the wild beaches of Papagayo and take a walk to the Pechigera lighthouse.

01. Playa Blanca stretches for six kilometers with numerous cafes, hotels. ..

02. Ferry several times a day to Fuerteventura…

03. There are 3 beaches on the coast of the resort: a small beach Playa Blanca in the center of the resort, Playa Dorada beach in the east and an artificial beach Playa Flamingo on west.

05. Africa is within easy reach…

06. Typical island architecture…

07. Marina Rubicon Port is a modern port with private yachts, restaurants, shops and an art gallery.

09. White houses and palm trees everywhere…

10. Somewhere in the distance you can see the neighboring island of Fuerteventura…

11. villages from pirates.

12. And we are moving on…

13. And here are the wild beaches of Papagayo

15. Secluded bays…

. .

17. Another bay…

18. Pirates…:)))

19. Beauty…

20. And on the other side of the desert…

21 Life among the sand…

22. The beaches are made of solidified lava and sand…

23. Let’s walk towards the lighthouse from Playa Blanca…

26. Too lazy to go to the beach, located near the hotels…

27. Four-star hotel Timanfaya Palace…

30. Along the coast there are a lot of pedestrian and bicycle paths …

32. The village lies right at the foot of the volcano …

9000 33. Lighthouse. Pechigera

That’s it! In the next posts I will continue the topic of spotting in Lanzarote…
Thank you for your attention!
