Beach with black, volcanic sand, in a cozy bay. A lifeguard is constantly on site, you can rent a sunbed and an umbrella, there are paid showers and toilets. There are two restaurants very close, souvenir shops, a few more cafes and restaurants, a supermarket across the road. You can get there on foot or by bus or taxi. nine0023 Minus. Small, during the season I can’t even imagine how it accommodates everyone.
Rocks around and on the ocean floor, not suitable for children and adults need to be careful.

You can swim on the beach only if you are a really good swimmer.

You can lie down, sunbathe. It is not worth swimming if you are not confident or not prepared. Dangerous waves. Changeable wind. Sometimes from the shore it seems that the waves are medium in size, but when you go into the water you may find that after a few minutes you are tired, yes, the wind has also changed.

Great beach!

Actually, we were going to Los Gigantes, but it was closed due to renovations.
Without thinking twice, we went to La Arena, so we arrived a little late, around 12.

The black sand is very good, but also very hot. So it will be better to go to the wet sand in your shoes.

The entrance to the water is a bit steep, so be careful with children. There are large stones at depth, this is not critical before lunch, but in the evening after low tide you can hit them. nine0003

The beach has all the amenities: sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, paid and free showers, toilets. The prices don’t bite.
Rescuers are awesome – they work professionally and in advance. The children played near the edge of the beach, asked to move to the center, so that if the wave starts to drag, it would not hit the stones.

It was easy to find a parking lot, it took 3 minutes to walk.

In general, I strongly recommend to visit.

Small black sand beach

The sand, of course, is not like in the Caribbean – this must be taken into account, very large, closer to small pebbles, but cool. The beach is quite small, big waves are almost constant, if you can enter the water (the flag is not red), it will still be difficult to cope with the wave. Pros – there are a lot of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Sunbeds are paid. The sun appears on the beach after 10 am. nine0003

Last October, while traveling around the island of Tenerife, we couldn’t help but look at the famous Playa de la Arena. We noted with satisfaction that the global construction, begun in 2017, for the arrangement and expansion (more precisely, lengthening) of the La Arena embankment has been completed and it turned out very nice … Since we ended up in La Arena in the evening, we prudently abstained from the evening ocean swim, but we were able to finally see the sunset for the first time in several Canary days… Before that, the sun somehow didn’t set, but was lost in the clouds and clouds…

At first the beach did not impress us:) A small rocky bay. When we were hanging a red flag – you can not swim. Very impressed with the sand. Soft, small, sparkling gold in the sun. Beautiful sunset. I would not recommend for couples with small children, as there is nowhere for kids to splash around. Waves, rocks and deep enough. In short, increased vigilance is required. Black sand beach. Very beautiful all around. Toilet and change for 0.20€. Shower for 1€. The cafes nearby have very affordable prices compared to other beaches. nine0023 All bottom in stones. Be sure to bring your swimming shoes! They will come in handy when the sand warms up.
