This 271-room luxury hotel is kid-friendly and large — with five buildings, two pools, and three restaurants — but sprawling grounds allow for uncrowded and mostly serene spaces.  All of its elegant rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and furnished balconies or terraces. The hotel is located across the boardwalk from a sandy beach, but also offers a heated kiddy pool, playground, and kids’ club with activities.

Located right on Costa Adeje’s prettiest beach, the luxurious Bahía del Duque has 351 rooms and villas on vast grounds. The long list of on-site amenities includes four large free-form pools, eight (pricey) restaurants, extensive sports facilities, and a great kids’ club — featuring daily activities, a kiddy pool, and an area for teens with a PlayStation, board games, and a foosball table. Rooms are decorated in a soft palette of taupe and seagrass green and include a furnished balcony or terrace. Kids (and adults!) can also get a kick out of the on-site astronomical observatory that hosts guided star-gazing nights.

Though this hotel’s beach is narrow and rocky, it offers plenty to entertain kids: a kids’ club with activities, playground, mini golf course, and a mini disco at night. (Plus, there’s a free shuttle service to Las Américas beach.) Rooms are bright and contemporary, with balconies, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The U-shaped building was constructed perpendicular to the beach, so many rooms have partial views of the Atlantic but only a few rooms have full ocean views.

The Dream Hotel Gran Tacande only has 250 rooms, which can be considered medium-size by beach resort standards, and the vibe here is a little mellower than at comparable properties nearby.  Located right on Playa del Duque, the upscale hotel has beautiful pools (including one for kids), several restaurants, and a kids’ club offering indoor and outdoor activities. Rooms are spacious, with modern amenities and balconies — but their decor comes off as bland to some, given the hotel’s advertised luxury status. Half board rates are available (breakfast and dinner in the buffet restaurant) and freebies include Wi-Fi, cribs, and parking.

Families with young children would do well at this 473-room, mid-range all-inclusive. It is not a 4-star property (as advertised), but it does feature a few nice amenities, including a large pool with a kiddy section; a kids’ club; two restaurants; and daily entertainment. The location a two-minute walk from a great beach is a major plus — but rooms, although spacious and sunny, are basic, with dated decor, average bathrooms, and balconies furnished with plastic chairs.
