The plenary session of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council unanimously approved today the celebration of the 2023 Maspalomas International Carnival between the dates of March 9 and March 19.
Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival is a unique type of event in all the Canary Islands, which is celebrated with a lot of “soul” on the beach in San Agustin, close to Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles.
The event first started in Gran Canaria in 2001 and since then it kept growing every year, with thousands of people coming to the island just to participate.

Interesting events and activities in June

The first month of summer is a great time to visit Gran Canaria. In June, the water on the main beaches of the island is already warming up to +21 – +22 degrees, the sky is mostly clear and the weather pleases with stable warmth. Well, if this is not enough for you, then on the island you will find many interesting entertainments and activities that will help diversify your pastime here. So:
01.06 at the CICCA cultural center in Las Palmas, the famous Cuban musician Totó Noriega and his musical group will perform.
The organizers promise a lot of positive emotions and incendiary music. The concert starts at 20.30.
02 – 13.06 the 43rd annual exhibition of exotic flowers, plants and birds will be held in the city park of Santa Brigida – it will be of interest to all nature lovers.
On 05.06 in San Fernando, Maspalomas there will be a Regional Folklore Festival. It is traditionally held on the first Saturday of June and gathers dozens of folk groups from all over the Canary Islands and hundreds of spectators in the central square of the city and in the cultural center. This year the organizers promise interesting dance performances, lots of songs and fun.
09.06 CICCA cultural center in Las Palmas will present a mono-performance, the existential comedy “Non Solum” (“Not only”), performed by the famous Catalan theater and film actor Sergi López. The performance starts at 20.30.
09.06, 10.06 in Las Palmas at Teatro Cuyás performances based on the work of Juan Mayorga “The Cartographer” will be given.
The duration of the performance is 2 hours, it starts at 20.30, the price of the entrance ticket is from 12 to 23 euros.
09- On June 24, Las Palmas will host the main city festival in honor of the city’s founder, Fiestas de San Juan. For two weeks, guests of the capital of Gran Canaria and its residents are waiting for numerous concerts, fireworks, shows, a culinary festival, competitions, tastings, sports competitions and much more.
On 11.06 in Las Palmas, at the Guiniguada Theater, the musical “Sleeping Beauty” will be shown, which is a modern interpretation of the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The performance is designed for a children’s audience from 4 years old, the performance starts at 12.00, the entrance ticket will cost 12 euros.
On 15.06 all residents of the island and its guests are in for a grand show – the Canary Islands Beach Fashion Week begins. Every day, until June 20 in Meloneras, at the Palacio de Congresos de Meloneras, many interesting events, shows, seminars, etc.

On June 16, for the eighth time, the famous Artenara Vertical race will take place on the island. It provides for three different distances with a length of 10.5 km, 16.9 km and 31 km. More than 500 participants have already expressed their desire to take part in it.
June 23 – 24, to be exact, on the night of June 23-24, in all cities, villages, settlements located on the coast, on all the beaches of the island, the celebration of St. a festival dedicated to this day, called Bonfire Night or Bonfire Night. On this night, local residents and guests of the island will burn bonfires, arrange night swimming, throw flowers and fruits into the sea, and enjoy fireworks. Special fun awaits at Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas.
23.06 – 09.07 in Las Palmas at the Teatro Cuyás all connoisseurs of performing arts will be able to enjoy the famous musical “Cabaret” performed by artists from Madrid under the direction of director Jamie Azpilicueta.
The duration of the performance is 2.5 hours, tickets will cost 55 euros.
