Beware of thieves
Oct 2018 • Friends
Today, our car was broken into and our bags were stolen from the trunk.
We went to report the theft at the police station in Las Lagunas and we met 3 other families reporting the same crime in the same place.
However, they had their car windows broken as well.
Moral of the story: take turns to watch the car while the rest of the group takes pictures. It’s just a 1 minute walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint, but it was all it took for the thieves to break into several cars.

Lush and green vegetation views not guaranteed
Jun 2018 • Couples
We had our rental car so driving to this viewpoint was not a big detour. This was our second visit and the clouds obscured the view same as one our first visit. Disappointed that the short trail to the look out is closed due to maintenance. Nice lush vegetation around the parking lot, otherwise not much here.

Keep your fingers crossed for a clear day!!!
Jul 2018 • Couples
If you have a clear day, you will be rewarded by stunning panoramic views, which we caught an all-too fleeting glimpse of during a gap in the clouds. But sadly on a cloudier day you won’t see them… good luck!

Great walk all downhill with lovely views but hard on aged knees! Recommend a walking pole or stick.
Feb 2016 • Couples
What a great walk! We took the bus 275 to Pico Ingles and then walked down to the coast where it is easy to catch a bus back into Santa Cruz or to the Teresitas beach at San Andres. Great views, all downhill which may be a mixed blessing for those with aged knees- take a walking pole or makeshift stick to help.

Great views on a clear day
Jan 2016 • Friends
The viewpoint of the English has great views of the mountains and across the seas to the nearby islands. Make sure you go on a day with good visibility. We were told that it was named after an Englishman who fell from the mountains here and was named in tribute to him, but, who knows? Not that it matters, the views are very good but no better than those on the road across the Anaga mountains from San Andres to Taganana, but you can see further! There’s a relatively small car park and you get to the small rocky viewpoint along a short dirt track. Given the choice I would opt for the road to Taganana but if you can do both, great!

Astonishing views
May 2015
It is easy to get there by bus from San Cristobal de La Laguna. The view itself over Santa Cruz, Teide and other areas can be a purpose – it’s very spectacular and beautiful – but I think that a mountain walk is also welcome since the view point is “available” imediately you get out of the bus.
I choose a walk down from Pico de Ingles to Santa Cruz (the initial target was another village but… ) and it was very impressive: reach and diverse vegetation as everywhere in Anaga mountains. I think there are many other beautiful treks from Carmen del Cruz which is on the road to peak.

Pray for a clear day
Feb 2015 • Couples
This was our second trip to this area of the island, and unfortunately on this occasion the weather was against us – the peak was in cold, damp cloud. Our previous visit gave us superb views all around, though it was a little hazy. But if you’re in these mountains you should take in the Pico as the panoramic views are (or can be) splendid.

A hell of a walk
Aug 2014 • Friends
If you enjoy a decent hike then I would recommend at least thinking about a walk I did with a group of mixed ages 24-63. We did it yesterday in the searing heat of August and that is not good, but if you go when it’s cooler I believe you would be impressed. We started off catching the 102 bus from puerto de la cruz 09.45 to the bus station in la Laguna hopping on to the connecting bus no. 70 something at 10.35 to punto del ingles and from there set off to trek down through the forest and Anaga national park to the capital Santa Cruz. Our guide book suggested 2hrs 40mins taking out the usual stops for pics, food and rest this was about spot on? BIG WARNING, the walk is completely downhill and strenuous on knees and thighs. However the landscape and viewsare more than adequate compensation. What surprised and fascinated me most of all were the remote farms where the only access we could see was a minimum 90min hike through some forbidding landscape. How the people cope in winter remains a mystery. I hope I haven’t put you off but if you are prepared both, emotionally and physically you will enjoy

Two capitals of Tenerife – past and future – In fact, in Tenerife, of course, one capital is the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife . But a few centuries ago, this port city did not have such power, and all because the main center of the island was considered the city of San Cristobal de La Laguna. The entire historic center of the city has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, so La Laguna definitely deserves attention, although it is not the capital of the island at present.
