A splashtastic day at Siam Park, The Water Kingdom, Tenerife – Travel Loving Family

When researching attractions to visit during our cruise ship visit into Tenerife, there was one attraction that really stood out.  When a couple of friends then recommended Siam Park, the Water Kingdom and I read on Trip Advisor that it has been voted the number one attraction in the world, the decision was made and tickets booked!  Read on for our review of Siam Park, Water Kingdom, Tenerife.

Siam Park is so much more than a water park.  As one of the largest aquatic theme parks in Europe it has 14 unique water attractions including the thrilling Tower of Power, The Dragon, Mekong Rapids, an Adventure Land set in its own tropical paradise, a HUGE man-made beach with wave pool and even sea lions.

As the water park is over an hours drive from the cruise ship port we decided to arrange our visit via the shore excursions department.  We could easily have hopped in a taxi and booked our tickets independently but we didn’t want to worry about flagging down a taxi, trying to negotiate a good price and risk not making it back to the ship in time for departure.

Our first impressions of the water park were a little chaotic with long lines to hire a locker.  After eventually securing our valuables however and finding a spot to use as a base, we were soon relaxing around the lazy river and racing our boys down the slides.

What we absolutely loved about the park is how it caters for all ages.  Harry and Charlie, (2 & 5) loved splashing around in the two children’s areas (5 on map below) and laughing at their Daddy when the huge bucket of water tipped onto his head!  Richards parents, in their late 60’s loved the lazy river, the white sandy beach and wave pool (4 on the map below).

I struggled a little to take photos as everywhere you turned there were people obviously in swimming costumes however here are a few photos of the many rides and facilities at the Water Kingdom by Siam Park…

I’m adding a Go-Pro to my Christmas wish list so that I can take videos like this one below for our next visit to a water park!

Top tips for visiting the Water Kingdom by Siam Park, Tenerife
– To fully appreciate all the attractions at the Water Kingdom you need a full day, or ideally a couple of days.  Our excursion only provided us with 4.5 hours at the attraction which was not quite enough for my two adventurous water babies!  Check out the discounted multi day passes here.
– Water shoes can be bought and wetsuits hired from the water park however, to save some money, pack water shoes (the ground was scorching hot) and wetsuits (if visiting out of peak season) for young kids.
– Avoid carrying any valuable belongings if you wish to avoid the locker queues.

Need to know
– P&O Cruises shore excursion ticket prices, including 1 hour 15 minute journey each way by coach, are £46 per adult and £24 per child.  Tickets are available on the gate from £29 per adult and £20 per child.

Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park in Pattaya is 30 modern water attractions and slides that are designed for young children, teenagers and adults.

The territory of the park is divided into 10 entertainment zones dedicated to such characters as Ben-10, Powerpuff Girls, Gumball, Darwin and other heroes of popular Cartoon Network cartoons. The park also has entertainment for adults, such as: Surfarena (surf on an artificial wave) and Mega Wave (simulates the waves of the sea).

How to get to Kartun Water Park

Kartun Network Amazon is located 20 km from the center of Pattaya, in the Jomtien area, which is south of the resort (see map below). Within a radius of 2-3 km around the water park, most of the rented housing is expensive villas. Hotels are located a little further, 5-10 minutes walk:

Ramayana Water Park is a vast area surrounded by beautiful nature, at the Silverlake vineyards, in the south of Pattaya (see map below). This is the largest water park in Thailand with 21 water slides and an area of ​​184,000 square meters. Thanks to the park area, the hill and the natural lake, the water park fits well into the surrounding landscape, but you will not pass by, because its huge, colorful slides cannot be overlooked.

Opened in May 2016, Ramayana Water Park is ready to offer entertainment for tourists of all ages, from babies to adults. For the little ones, the park offers a small lagoon, hidden from the sun, with a wide variety of toys from which you can have fun splashing water.

Children’s Aqua Play

For adults, the park provides plenty of opportunities to relax in small houses on top of a hill, in the middle of a river or in a vast park area. You can also grab a couple of inflatable balloons and slowly float down the lazy river that goes around the hill.

The park features a variety of high-speed slides, a double artificial wave, a teen play pool and, for special occasions, a huge LCD stage surrounded by an artificial wave pool. All water slides in the Ramayana are designed and built by White Water West, a Canadian company, the world leader in the construction of such structures. Among the slides there are also unique ones, for example, Aqualoop with a dead loop or the longest in Asia, the 250-meter double slide Dueling Aqua-Coasters.

If quenching your thirst right from the pool doesn’t appeal to you, there are three multi-cuisine restaurants and a swim-up bar. One of the restaurants is specialized for children. For an additional fee, you can celebrate a birthday there. Another restaurant, The Lake, offers an unlimited buffet from 12:00 to 16:00. Its cost: 300 baht for adults, 200 baht for children from 91 to 121 cm. All payments are made using an electronic waterproof bracelet, the balance of which can be replenished at the entrance to the park.

Ramayana Water Park offers a range of amenities to make your holiday completely carefree: swimwear shop, towel rental (99 baht/day, 200 baht deposit), lockable storage lockers (small 120 baht/day, large – 190), private gazebos (from 700 to 1900 baht / day), massage cabins, extensive parking and a sufficient number of toilet rooms. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, more than 100 rescuers monitor safety, and qualified specialists are ready to provide assistance in the first-aid post.

Ramayana is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Children under 90 centimeters enter the park for free, those between 91 and 121 cm in height pay 890 baht, and adults pay 1,190 baht. The ticket is issued for the whole day. Transfer costs 120 baht/person. On the Internet, the prices for excursions to Ramayana are lower, including options along with lunch and transfer from and to the hotel.

How to get to Ramayana Water Park

Ramayana Water Park is located 25 km from the center of Pattaya, south of the resort, not far from the Buddha image on the rock. You can get there by rented car: first you need to move along the route No. 3 Sukhumvit Road, then turn onto road No. 1003. GPS coordinates: latitude 12.758617, longitude 100.966504. Directions:

The water park can also be reached by taxi or by transfer from Ramayana – the water park’s own minibus brings visitors from the hotel and takes them back for 240 baht per person. For 1200 baht you can reserve a 4-seater car (price for both ways, for the whole car).

The oldest water park in Pattaya, which immediately catches your eye – everything is shabby and obsolete. There are six slides in the park, several pools, including shallow sections for children.

Despite the obvious shortcomings, this water complex also has advantages: firstly, it is located in the central part of the city; secondly, its entrance costs 200 baht; thirdly, it is adjacent to a small amusement park and a tower from which you can go down on a bungee; fourthly, literally 2 minutes walk is the beach.

How to get there

The park is located in the Pratumnak area, a little south of the center of Pattaya, near the well-known Pattaya Park Tower hotel in the city (see map below). Minibuses do not go to this part of the resort, but a taxi ride will be inexpensive. Excursions to the water park are not for sale, because there is no need – everyone visits it on their own. Going to Pattaya Waterpark specifically from other areas of Pattaya is probably not advisable, it’s not worth it. But if you live somewhere nearby, then you can go.

Siam Park in Bangkok is, strictly speaking, not a water park, but a huge entertainment complex, where there are, among other things, water rides. There are fewer water slides in it than in Ramayana and Kartun, but there are many other things: roller coasters, a “falling elevator”, a 100-meter observation tower, carousels and so on. In general, although the park is old, the rides in it are exciting and varied.

For visitors to the water park there is a shop and rental of water accessories, changing rooms and showers, two restaurants, a cafe, a medical center and a rescue service. Renting a lockable box costs 60-120 baht, but you can also rent it for free if you bring your own lock. There are ATMs in the Amusement Park.

Excursion to Siam Park from Pattaya costs 1100 baht for an adult and 900 baht for a child. The price includes travel by comfortable minibus and lunch in the park. The bus leaves at 07:30 and returns at 18:00.

Conclusion

It is difficult to recommend a specific water park in Pattaya: Kartun and Ramayana are definitely better than the old Pattaya Waterpark, but they are located far away. Alternatively, consider hotels with water slides. Of course, their pools and slides cannot be compared to a real water park, but you don’t have to travel long and pay an entrance fee.

There are also some other cool attractions that are not suitable for everyone.

In the Children’s Zone at the Wild Africa attraction, the child will be able to ride a boat and a train that ride among the models of wild animals. In the “Dinosaur Park” – by car among prehistoric animals and primitive people.

On the territory of Siam Park, there is the oldest water park in Bangkok. At your service are water slides (the longest is 400 meters), a waterfall, a huge pool with artificial waves (area 13,600 sq.m – listed in the Guinness Book of Records).

The park has an observation deck Siam Park Tower, where a panoramic view of the surroundings opens from a height of 100 meters.
