The best nightlife in Tenerife
If there’s one thing the Tenerifians know how to do well, it’s party. Enjoying life is a genetic disposition, evident if you venture into one of the many bars and nightclubs frequented by locals – and there are many. Check out the vibrant student scene in La Laguna, test your stamina in the bop-till-breakfast clubs of the southern resorts, or limber up for Latin pop and hip-swaying salsa in the Spanish nightclubs of both north and south. Every year brings a new music festival, and this year is no exception, with top-shelf DJs flying in to turn the heat up at open-air club nights.
Playa de las Americas
Papagayo
The Veronicas nightlife strip in Playa de las Americas might seem to some as a place preserved for teenage hedonists only, but there is one neon light that shines bright for those seeking something a little more mature. Papagayo is part Mediterranean restaurant, part beach club, but mostly disco, with two floors overlooking an open-air dancefloor and thatched cabanas offering ocean views with your margaritas. If there’s one club guaranteed to be packed at the weekends, Papagayo is it, but unless you want the dancefloor to just you and your handbag, don’t even think about going until after 1am.

Harry’s Bar
Grab a mojito and a grandstand terrace seat overlooking the ‘dancing’ fountains in Safari shopping centre. There’s nowhere better to take the weight off after an evening retail excursion. All major sports are shown, though this really is more of a bar for people-watching than televised ball-chasing. The fountain show kicks off at around 9pm every night, by which time all of the good seats are taken, so book a table for 9.30pm at one of the many restaurants nearby, then grab a terrace seat at Harry’s for an aperitif around 8pm.

Ask for the Casablanca cocktail, a fruity ensemble of vodka, passion fruit, strawberry and lemon. There’s usually a 10-euro entrance fee on Saturdays (one drink included), but for free entry, just make sure you’re through the door before midnight.

Coqueluche Beach Bar
What says ‘on holiday’ more than drinking a frozen strawberry daquiri at a thatched beach bar watching a band playing chilled covers while the sun sinks slowly beyond the horizon? That’s exactly what you get at Coqueluche, possibly the most chilled bar in Tenerife, possibly the planet. Bands play on the beach every evening from 5pm until 7.30pm. Naturally, this is the busiest time, especially on Sundays, so you might want to grab yourself a table beforehand and order a plate of sustenance; the blue cheese and walnut salad is particularly good.

Acanto Cocktail Lounge
Sometimes you want a beach bar that offers more than straw shade, and cocktails in jam jars. Such is Acanto, a classy cocktail lounge with an ocean-facing terrace next to Playa del Duque beach. If the ocean breeze gets too much, move into the two-storey, church-like interior where pianists and opera singers often perform to holidaymakers, residents and the occasional visiting celebrities. The sangria is highly recommended and may whet the appetite enough for paella or another evening bite on their separate dining terrace.

- 10 Nightlife in Playa de las Americas That You Shouldn’t Miss
November 6, 2021 Augustus Redeker
Playa de las Americas, near Tenerife’s southwestern tip, is a lively, upbeat resort built in the 1960s. Today it’s crammed with British restaurants, bars and hotels and North European tourists. Its white sands attract hordes of sun worshippers, while nearby El Medano is famed for its windsurfing. Top attractions include sailing, golf and dinner theater shows, but it’s the nightlife on Veronica’s Strip that is the top draw for the crowds of young tourists who flock here to party around the clock.

We offer free entertainment 365 days a year and love it when you get involved by singing on karaoke. Children are welcome to sing before 12pm. The act comes on at 10pm and 11pm every night and range from soul singers to comedians. Drag Queens to Jersey Boys. We try to accommodate everyone with a good mixture of acts and if the act uses bad language people are warned several times especially parents. We offer cocktails 2 for 1 5pm to10pm. We show all sports at the weekend.

Would definitely come back here if we are in Tenerife again.

Now you’ve got the low-down, it’s time to hit the best clubs and pubs in Tenerife for around-the-clock drinks and a night to remember.
Party hotspots in Tenerife where the fun never ends
You’re in Tenerife with your friends, family or partner, and you all want to head out and explore the island’s lively, fun nightlife. That’s understandable if you take into account that Tenerife has been called the island of the eternal spring thanks to the pleasant temperatures of its subtropical climate. And there’s nothing that makes you want to party more than a Caribbean atmosphere just a stone’s throw from Europe.
The most important thing is to be clear on where you need to go in Tenerife to enjoy a night out. If you imagine a map marking all the nightlife hotspots on the island, then you’ll soon realise that there are two epicentres. On the one hand is the south-western coast of Tenerife—between the municipalities of Adeje and Arona—which is where the largest quantity of bars, clubs, pub, lounges and on-street terraces can be found. This is a favourite amongst tourists.
On the other hand, there are three large hotspots around the characteristic ‘horn’ of land in the northeast of the island: Santa Cruz de Tenerife—the capital—and the municipalities of La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz, which are not to be outdone when it comes to nightlife.

Party hotspots in southern Tenerife
Costa Adeje: In recent years, the coast of the municipality of Adeje—known as Costa Adeje—has done a lot to develop what it has to offer in terms of hospitality, creating a multitude of bars, restaurants, hotels, and leisure options. Along the seaside promenade that separates the Torviscas Beach from the Puerto Colón Sailing Club, are clustered countless beach bars and cocktail bars, perfect for a chilled start to the evening. Le Club Beach Club and Otelo2 are just two suggestions.
But if you’re looking for a dance floor in Costa Adeje, you’ll have to head away from the water. On the Avenida Francisco Ucelay Sabina, for example, is the Achamán Discopub, a famous club on the Tenerife nightlife scene, where you’ll always hear Latin beats.
Playa de las Américas: The coastal area of Arona, situated to the south of Costa Adeje, has become especially famous for two reasons: it’s the gateway to the island of La Gomera and it is also home to the island’s main tourism hubs. One of these hotspots is known as Playa de las Américas. Away from the shoreline you’ll find parties that last for twenty-four hours a day, with neon lights shining and music pumping.
The Las Verónicas strip, a string of shopping centres located along the Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina, hosts up to 50 establishments, including nightclubs and pubs. On its northern corner, the Papagayo Beach Club is a chill out club with white walls and a classic structure. It welcomes the hottest DJs every weekend. What’s more, during the day it has a restaurant with a terrace with priceless views of the sunset over El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera.
Just a few metres away, Tramps Tenerife claims to be the king of clubs. Inside the Starco shopping centre, this club attracts an international crowd, and, every weekend, pays homage to house, rock and pop music in its different rooms.
Los Cristianos: The last big tourist honeypot on the southern coast of Tenerife, is 3 kilometres away from the one mentioned above. Together, these three towns—Costa Adeje, Las Américas and Los Cristianos—attract about 5 million visitors a year.
With a distinctive family vibe, the Safari shopping centre is a modern, elegant, outdoor complex with lots of clothes stores and a variety of restaurants. On that note, if you want to line your stomach before a night out, around the central square, presided over by a fountain with light and music, there are huge numbers of restaurants. The Empire Modern British Restaurant & Steak House and the Imperial Tai-pan are just two of them.
Located opposite the Playa de las Vistas beach, is the San Telmo shopping centre, which is a little less busy than the others. Spread over its four floors are plenty of music venues. They tend to specialise in rock and reggae, but Latin music is the true queen here. It’s a great spot for a bar crawl. For example, you could start off in Casa Blanca, where all kinds of music are played, and then jump to Punta Cana, which focuses on electronic music.
Party hotspots in northern Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife: The island’s capital is one of the best options for a night out in northern Tenerife. Specifically, the area around the pedestrian street Calle de La Noria—currently renamed Calle Antonio Domínguez Alfonso—is where you’ll find the most action. Here, the same bars and restaurants that serve tapas during the day transform into clubs when night falls. The most famous are Mojos y Mojitos, and Los Reunidos Tapas y Copas, two spots that are perfect for the transition period between day and night.
La Laguna: The city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna—popularly known as La Laguna—was, during the times of the Castilian conquest, the island’s first capital. Although the loss of the status of capital meant it’s no longer the centre of political and economic power, what La Laguna has to offer these days is a healthy, thriving nightlife scene. The University, the first founded in the Canary Islands, has been a big contributor to this, as the city has a student vibe which is unique in Tenerife.
El Cuadrilátero, one of the main party hotspots, is made up of a group of alleyways in the centre that are home to more than 100 bars and restaurants. There’s a concentration of bars and pubs here that draw a predominantly young crowd at the weekends. Some of the most classic spots in the area include La Herradura (Plaza Víctor Zurita Soler), a famous beer house that’s open until 3:00 AM; or the Blues Bar (Calle Dr. Zamenhoff, 9), an alternative place with blues and singer-songwriter gigs, as well as occasional theatre performances and art exhibitions.
Puerto de la Cruz: No one’s very sure when the Latin vibe took over nights in Puerto de la Cruz (link interno). But from then on, this town, located in the heart of the La Orotava valley, has been drawing a varied crowd. Azúcar (Calle de Obispo Pérez Cáceres, 2) attracts those who want to dance bachata and salsa, while Mansion Lounge & Music (Calle Iriarte, 10) plays music of all genres, from electronic music to rock and pop.
Meanwhile, the Avenida Familia Betancourt y Molina is where you’ll find lots of gay bars, such as Anderson or Tabasco, and clubs, such as Vampis.
And if you’re looking for more than just music and drinks, at number 12 on Calle Blanco, Blanco Bar also puts on parties, concerts, stand-up comedy nights and exhibitions, amongst other activities.

Tired? Walked up? Eating, drinking, dancing? You will be carefully taken to your hotel, apartment, condo or wherever you are staying. You won’t have to look for a taxi for a long time, it will find you by itself!
Bored in Playa del Carmen? Go to Cancun. Suddenly you will like it there so much that you will even move to the Hotelier Zone or Cancun City. And the beaches of Cancun are no worse, I would even say several times better!
Excursions and tours from Playa del Carmen
Since we are talking about all kinds of entertainment, I will say a few words about excursions and one-day tours.
Walking along Fifth Avenue and along the waterfront, you will see many agencies and stands full of bright advertisements for all kinds of tours and excursions. All of them invite vacationers to get acquainted with local entertainment. The list, in general, is the same as in Cancun, so I will not describe all the events again, but I will suggest that those who are interested read a note about excursions and tours from Cancun. Let me just say that entertainment is not cheap.
For those who want to see, for example, the pyramids of Chichen Itza, Koba, Ek-Balam, Tulum, but do not want to overpay agencies, I recommend visiting these places on your own. We actually always do that. There is no difficulty in this: buses depart daily in all these directions from the Central Bus Station in Playa del Carmen, collectives (minibuses) go to Tulum and Cancun, which can be found at the intersection of Av.20 and Calle2. I am sure that many vacationers in Playa will want to see the magnificent beaches of Cancun or Tulum, or magnificent cenotes. If so, then the procedure is the same – we sit on the bus or collectively and go.

The best nightclubs in Tenerife
Of course, everyone knows that people go to the main island of the Canary archipelago – Tenerife, for a quality beach holiday, and also to improve their well-being, thanks to the beneficial local climate, but only to get acquainted with the unique Canarian cuisine, visit the local vineyards and the Teide volcano, with its stunning alien surroundings. But, having been saturated with real and spiritual food, we recommend that you move on to mundane entertainment in Tenerife by visiting the best nightclubs on the island.
So where in Tenerife can you dance the night away? As a digression, it is worth noting that in itself – “live music” in Tenerife is a very rare occurrence. Of course, there are local bands here, but they most often perform at the February carnivals or give concerts in the capital of the island – Santa Cruz. Therefore, young people who yearn for complete annealing will probably be disappointed. But, nevertheless, on the island of Tenerife there are quite interesting places for parties where locals like to relax and are happy to meet tourists who are eager for entertainment.
1. Tenerife Night Club – “Achaman” is an entertaining nightclub, named after the supreme deity of the Guanches tribe – the indigenous inhabitants of the Canary Islands. According to legend, this god created the sky, earth, fire, water and all living things, and imprisoned the evil demon forever inside the Teide volcano. For the people of Tenerife, “Achaman” is the true god of reckless nightlife. Achaman is located on Calle Brusselas, on the way to Playa Fañabé. In this atmospheric place you can listen or dance to incendiary music. The club is excellent: spacious, there are two floors, a spacious terrace encircles it around the perimeter – chillout. There are two bars here. The main bar is located next to the dance floor, an additional bar is located on the second floor. The interior of the club is tastefully decorated: huge white sofas, palm trees in tubs, wooden tables.
In the center of the dance floor there is a separate podium for active dancers. The club has billiards, as well as a kicker. On Thursdays, from one in the morning until half past five in the morning, flamenco and rumba reign in the club. On Wednesday and Friday, from 11 pm to midnight, master dancers give free salsa lessons, you can bring your own dance partner or choose from a crowd of vacationers. That is, on any day, you will find popular Spanish dance music, as well as performances by local DJs. Entrance is free, although there is face control, and security guards periodically walk around the club, keeping an eye on order. Alcohol – cheap, but high quality! Opening hours of the club “Achaman”: from eleven in the evening to six in the morning.
2. Tenerife nightclub at Las Veronicas. Playa de Las Americas is the busiest place on the island of Tenerife: when vacationers in Costa Adeje get ready for bed at ten o’clock in the evening, the resting young people of Las Americas just go out for a walk and have fun. Veronicas Street is located next to the Sol Tenerife Hotel and borders the Costa Adeje. It is not in vain that it has the fame of the most “vile place” in Tenerife, with dozens of bars, discos, and nightclubs. The level of nightclubs in Las Veronicas Street is average and will suit unpretentious visitors, but inveterate regulars of Moscow or St. Petersburg nightclubs will most likely be upset. Yes, you can’t compare with the nightclubs of Ibiza! Probably the most decent nightclub on Las Veronicas Street is Trumps, which is open from 1 a. m.; a rather decent audience gathers here. In general, it is worth taking a walk along the street lit by the sea of lights, and on your own look into bars, discos, pubs with rock music, maybe you will find something to your liking. Thankfully, all of these places are free to enter.
3. Nightclub Tenerife “Papagayo” – located at the end of the aforementioned entertainment street – Las Veronicas, at Avenida Rafael Puig y Lluvina, on the ocean. This is an oasis of fun nightlife and one of the best nightclubs in Tenerife. “Papagayo Beach Club” is a very decent and high-status institution: the girls come here dressed up, the guys are neat. The music is light and danceable. The dance floor is very large and spacious, the tables are inside the club and on the ocean. There are a lot of guards here. Entrance costs ten euros, one free cocktail is included. Papagayo is also a restaurant where diners can choose from an extensive menu, including sushi and rolls, which are rare in the Canary Islands. Every Tuesday from 9 pm to 12 am, live music concerts are given here. Parties start at 11 pm and end at 5:30 am.
4. Tenerife nightclub “Kaluna Beach Club” – located on Playa de Las Americas, right on the ocean. It also works as a daytime “beach-club”, delighting guests with excellent electronic music by the huge pool, delicious cocktails, excellent service and helpful staff, including Russian speakers. In the evening you can listen and dance to live music. Prices are not very high, fully justifying the quality, friendly atmosphere and service.
5. Tenerife night club “Tibu Club” – a large club located in the heart of Las Americas, near the hotel “La Palma”. There are two dance floors here. Music is played in Latin or electronic style. Entrance costs – ten euros, plus a free cocktail. For the entertainment of visitors, interesting shows are periodically held and memorable prizes are raffled off. It is worth booking a table here in advance, as there may not be enough space. In one of the VIP-cabins, near the dance floor, you will have a good time and receive a bottle of wine from the establishment as a gift. The club’s program is full of events: you will be entertained by famous DJs from Tenerife and Europe. Tibu often hosts interesting shows, such as the Fire Symphony performance, with fire eaters, local stage stars, popular bands and famous artists. To attract visitors, memorable prizes are played here.
6. Tenerife night club “Monkey Beach Club” – is located on Las Americas, namely on the beach of Troya, on the picturesque coast of the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of the best nightclubs in Tenerife, with an excellent outdoor disco, cafe, restaurant, cocktail bar. Start of discos in “Monkey Beach”, taking place here on Friday and Saturday: from six in the evening. There are often themed parties in honor of various festivities: the opening and closing of the season, the feast of Ivan Kupala Day, the summer carnival, the night in white and others. The club season starts in May and ends in October.
7. Tenerife nightclub “El Faro” – one of the best nightclubs in Tenerife, with a stylish and ultra-modern interior, unique lighting and sound systems. This nightclub is located in the resort of Las Americas near Puerto Colon. It is open daily, but the most fun there is on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Therefore, if you love noisy and cheerful companies, great music and endless dancing, then you are in the right place!
Nightclub has two levels: dance floor and terraces. There are bar counters next to the dance floor. Here you can hear a variety of music, you will be entertained by famous European DJs. The El Faro Terrace is a place where you can relax in comfort, thanks to a beautifully crafted relaxing environment with Balinese beds and amazing ocean views. If you want to dance, it is not necessary to go to the dance floor, you can do it right on the terrace, most often music in the Latin style plays here. The peak of fun in this club begins after two in the morning.
8. Tenerife night club “El Vivo” – this night club-restaurant is also located in the party place of the island – Las Americas, in the green area of Las Veroniacas. The interior of the establishment is made in a pirate style. There are several bars where delicious cocktails are prepared. Visitors are waiting for several dance floors where different music is played, and there is also an outdoor terrace from which you can admire the magnificent seascapes of Tenerife. The El Vivo club often hosts both local and visiting performers and fun themed parties. There is a Russian-speaking staff, and in general, this club is very popular among our compatriots. We recommend coming here on Friday and Saturday, after midnight, when the peak of fun begins.
Of course, we have given you a far from complete list of interesting and atmospheric nightclubs on the island of Tenerife, focusing on the party place of the island – Las Americas. There are many night and dance clubs in other places, we have described the most popular of them. We hope we have helped you make your choice.

I came to Playa del Carmen on the advice of American friends who consider this resort the best in the whole world. As a result, I ended up in a really beautiful, almost paradise in terms of the beauty of the beaches and the sea, the town, which became for me a great opportunity to relax after living in noisy Cancun.
True, Playa del Carmen can be called the best resort, perhaps in Central and South America, but not in the whole world. In terms of a sense of peace, tranquility and exceptional relaxation, Playa still can hardly compete with the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and, in particular, Turkey and Greece.
So, I spent less than a month in Playa del Carmen, as Merida, Mexico City and Acapulco were waiting for me on a long 6-month journey. I remember the town as cute, quiet enough to really relax, but still it was Mexican, and this is not at all a positive feature of it.
As in other cities of Mexico, in Playa I noticed the wariness and even passive aggression of local residents, who were sometimes even arrested right on the streets, loud swearing, strange sidelong glances and even local criminal groups, which, by the way, look just like a group students discussing the series. Unfortunately, even a city as sharply aimed at tourism as Playa has not been deprived of attention on the drug route from South America to the USA, so I would never call this city safe or peaceful.
However, the beaches here are larger and much cleaner than in Cancun, the water in the sea is really amazing, ideal for amateur snorkeling, and the villas on the first line can cost you quite a modest price compared to the bungalows on Maldives or Caribbean.
Playa will definitely be in the top 100 places to visit at least once in a lifetime, but for me it will be somewhere at the bottom of this list.
If you are going somewhere for your honeymoon, then a week in this city (if you book a room in an expensive hotel!), you will probably really like it.
However, we should not forget that the city itself is rather strange, chaotic and simply dirty. However, like everything else in Mexico.
Getting there
From Russia, Playa del Carmen can only be reached by plane. There are no ferries, road, rail or other means of communication with Russia.
Playa del Carmen itself has a regional airport, but it does not serve international flights. Therefore, you will have to fly here through Cancun Airport.
Here you can find a tour to Playa del Carmen.
By plane
Cancun has its own international airport, Aeropuerto Nacional de Cancun, which is located 55 kilometers north of Playa del Carmen. Flights can be different:
- direct Moscow – Cancun and St. Petersburg – Cancun by Nordwind Airlines or National. The price is from 1200 USD in both directions.
- with a transfer in New York or with two (in New York and Miami) Aeroflot companies. Here you need a full-fledged American visa. Ticket price – from 700 USD in both directions.
- with a change in Munich or with a change in Berlin and Munich (Berlin and Düsseldorf) by Airberlin. For a transplant in less than 24 hours, citizens of the Russian Federation do not need a Schengen visa. From 700 USD in both directions.
You can compare prices and look for the best deals, for example, here.

When is the season. When to go
Everyone says that Yucatan and Playa del Carmen in particular is a year-round resort, but even here there are some nuances due to seasonal climate changes. Coming here in the summer, you can get into a week with torrential tropical rains that last 2-8 hours. At the same time, the air temperature will be very high and comfortable for swimming. It is worth considering that in the summer in Playa there can be big waves to the sea.
When you come here in winter, you can find the sea too cold for swimming (December-January), which, however, will appeal to those who like coolness. But the air temperature will be summer, hot and pleasant.
I advise you to choose the middle option – April-May and September-October. At this time, the weather takes both pluses and minuses from each of the seasons, a little bit of everything. There simply can’t be an exact answer to the question “when is it better to go to Playa del Carmen”: someone will like the hot sea, and it doesn’t matter that it sometimes rains (summer), someone will like cool water, but no heat ( winter).
Playa del Carmen in summer
Summers in this part of the world are very, very hot and humid. So humid that clothes and towels never dry completely. If you do not like moisture and dampness, you should not go to Playa in the summer!
It is also important to know that in summer the air temperature can rise to a critical level, it will be very hot. Although the water in the sea will also be very warm, ideal for swimming with children.
Playa del Carmen in autumn
Autumn is the best time to travel. It falls on September-October, when the rains finally end, and the sea has not yet had time to cool down.
I would advise you to go to Playa at this time of the year or in the spring.
Playa del Carmen in the spring
If you are not afraid of two hours of heavy rains, do not want to swim in the cold sea, but do not like extreme heat, come to Yucatan in April-May, when the beaches are empty, everything around is clean, bloom flowers and great weather.
So in the spring in Playa del Carmen you can have a great rest!
Playa del Carmen in winter
From December to February in Playa del Carmen lasts the most traditional season for a beach holiday. True, there is one important point: the sea at this time of the year is not very warm and is not suitable for those who are looking for the opportunity to swim in a warm tropical lagoon!
The best part of the winter months is absolutely zero chance of clouds and rainy days!

Districts. Where to live
There are only two areas in Playa del Carmen where tourists should stay. This is the Center and Sak Pakal, which is located next to the center. All of them have a long coastline with clean beaches. Another place for tourists is the promenade north and south of Playa del Carmen, occupied by large hotels and resorts.
Below you will see a map of all the main areas in Playa del Carmen and find out what they are.
- The center is the best place to stay in Playa del Carmen. You will have access to all possible infrastructure, restaurants and cafes, shops and buses. At the same time, locals do not live here, which is a definite plus in Mexico! I strongly advise you to choose this area for living. This is how the street in the area looks like:
- Sac Pacal is a small and very cheap area north of Playa del Carmen. There are also hotels, restaurants and cafes here, but the atmosphere is more oppressive, although you can stay during your vacation. I used to live here, but in the end I still had to constantly walk to the Center. Buildings here are less dense, the houses are lower than in the Center, the sidewalks are worse. This is what an ordinary street of the area looks like:
- Luis Donaldo – private houses of ordinary middle-class Mexicans are concentrated in this densely built-up area. There are very scary unkempt houses and gardens. I would not advise you to settle here, even if it seems on the map that it is close to the sea and the center. The atmosphere here is no longer touristy, there are almost no cafes and restaurants. This is what a good street looks like here:
- Echidal is an area for locals with typical buildings, which should be avoided like fire. And this applies to all more northern regions. Here I do not advise you to appear at all, even if you are consumed by curiosity about how ordinary people live in Playa. This area can honestly be called the “beginning of the ghetto” from the sea in Playa del Carmen. This is how the street looks like here:
According to the types of housing in Playa, you can choose from the following list:
- rent a room in a hotel – from 20 to 180 USD per day for a double room;
- rent a room in a luxury hotel – 200-300 USD per day for a double room;
- rental of apartments in a hotel (two or three rooms) – from 40 to 250 USD per day for four;
- rental of a villa with a pool – from 300 to 1500 USD per day for 6-10 people, usually 3 or 4 bedrooms;
- renting an apartment from a private owner for a long time through a real estate agency (for example, with an annual contract – from 200 USD per month for a small apartment or 600-1000 USD per month for a villa with a pool and good furniture).
You can book a room on Booking, but first compare prices here. And on this site you can find rental housing.
What are the prices for holidays
Below you will see prices that will help you calculate the budget for your holiday in Playa del Carmen:
- the cheapest hotels – 25 USD.
- The price of lunch in an inexpensive restaurant is 10 USD, dinner in an expensive restaurant is 30 USD, lunch with a meat dish in a traditional cafe is 5-15 USD.
- The price of excursions is from 30 USD to 160 USD.
- The fare for a taxi in the city is 5-10 USD, by bus in the city – 1 USD.
As you can see, Playa is quite an expensive holiday resort.

Main attractions. What to see
The main attractions of Playa del Carmen are the cenotes and Mayan ruins. You will find a selection of the best of them on my map below (with photos, where the icons will indicate to you the type of recreation in the cenotes – diving / swimming / diving / snorkeling).
Below I will tell you about the main attractions.
Top 5
- Mayan ruins of Muyil (Muyil) – an opportunity to plunge into the ancient culture of the Indians, climb the pyramid, which is more than 2000 years old and look at the Yucatan jungle. Park opening hours: from 8 to 17. Entrance fee – 1 USD (17 MXN), free on Sundays. Address: Reforma Agraria-Puerto Juárez km 25, Chunyaxche, 77710 Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R.

Entrance fee is 50 USD and 25 USD for children. 70 USD is a tour from Playa del Carmen. Here, photographs are taken along the way in the caves, then they give the opportunity to choose and buy the ones you like or all at once. Service price: 25 USD for one photo on a disk or 100 USD for all photos on a flash drive. Address: Chalakal. You need to take a bus to Tulum and get off at the next stop after Xcaret Park, next to Puerto Aventuras (stop on request, tell the Rio Secreto driver). From the track you will see a sign, you will need to walk about 150 meters.
- Chac-Mool Cenote. Opening hours: from 8 to 17. Entrance fee – 15 USD. Address: Puerto Aventuras. To get to these cenotes, you also need to take a bus to Tulum and get off at the La Gloria area near Puerto Aventuras (stop on request, tell the Cenote Chac-Mool driver). From the road you will see a small house from the north, you need to follow the road next to it deep into the jungle for about a kilometer. A large billboard “Cenote Chac-Mool” will hang nearby.
- Cenote Chaak Tun. Tour from Playa del Carmen for 4 hours costs about 40 USD. Opening hours: from 8 to 17. Entrance fee – 12 USD (200 MXN). Address: Benito Juarez Avenue, next to the Las Palmas ranch. To get to this attraction, you need to take a taxi, the cost is about 6 USD (100 MXN) one way.
- 7 magical cenotes. Includes Cristalino and Azul, a group of three called Chikin Ha, Kantun Chi and Eden. Opening hours: from 8 to 17. Entrance price is 2-6 USD for each cenote per person. Address: Cenotes Cristalino and Azul are located near the Barceló Maya Resort. To get to these cenotes, you need to take the bus to Tulum and get off in front of the Barcelo Maya Beach Hotel (stop on request). The cenotes are 50-300 meters apart, you can walk.
- Grand Cenote. Opening hours: from 8 to 17. The cost of entry is free. Address: Highway 307, at the turn to Kobu. To get to this attraction, you need to take a bus to Tulum (5 USD), then transfer by taxi to Gran Cenote (taxi costs less than 8 USD).
I advise you to visit all the cenotes in one day, as most of them are nearby – see the map!
Beaches. What are the best
There are no separate beaches in Playa del Carmen, they are all part of one huge beach that stretches along the entire city. So, some of them have various advantages, which I will discuss below. It is worth noting that the number of waves and entry into the sea on all beaches is exactly the same – the bottom is sandy, all beaches are relatively convenient for children (for example, from 5 years old) and at the same time they have only weak waves. It is worth noting that the further south the beach is, the more algae can be on it, it depends on the quality of the beach cleaning, and not on natural cycles.
- Coco Beach. Sun loungers: 6 USD. Restaurants, food: yes, bar. Pluses of the beach: a beach with a youthful and very tropical atmosphere.
- Mamita’s beach. Sun loungers: 5 USD. Restaurants, food: eat, restaurants and bars. Pluses of the beach: great noisy beach with a party.
- Shangri-La Beach. Sun loungers: 6 USD. Restaurants, food: yes. Pluses of the beach: very atmospheric beach due to tropical bungalows and bars.
- Playcar Beach is a gorgeous beach on the edge of the jungle. Sun loungers: 5-8 USD. Restaurants, food: yes, from expensive hotels. Pros of the beach: jungle, luxury hotels and luxury.
- Public Beach – a large and very wide beach with a fairly convenient location right in the city center. Sun loungers: 4 USD, from 9 am everyone is already busy. Restaurants, food: no, only in cafes, they don’t bring sun loungers. Pluses of the beach: there is an opportunity to play beach volleyball.
- Tukan Beach is an excellent beach near the Center. Sun loungers: 5 USD. Restaurants, food: yes. Pluses of the beach: very convenient with children, many couples.
- Palm Beaches – located in the Playkar area, stretching from the pier to Playkar beach at the end of the area. Interesting for their palm trees. Sun loungers: 6-8 USD. Restaurants, food: yes. Pluses of the beach: chic sprawling palm trees and in large numbers.
- Punta Esmeralda beach. Sun loungers: no. Restaurants, food: no. Pluses of the beach: an interesting lagoon, but the beach is not remarkable.
Museums. What to visit
Playa del Carmen has two main museums that are worth visiting for most tourists, especially families. These are the 3D Wonder Museum, where you can take pictures in surreal poses and landscapes, as well as the Modern Art Gallery. Also on the streets in the city center you will find several more art galleries, the entrance to which usually costs 5 USD or is free, as the paintings are sold. Below you will see the location of these two museums:
- 3D Museum of Wonders – amazing 3D graphics effects in different rooms allow you to take gorgeous pictures for memory!. Opening hours: from 9 to 22. Entrance fee – 15 USD (400 MXN). Address: 10 Avenida Norte.
- Gaston Charo Contemporary Art Gallery is a great opportunity to delve into the world of surreal local contemporary art. Opening hours: from 15 to 23:30. The entrance is free. Canvases cost from 20 to 7000 USD. Address: 5ta avenida | Entre 6 y8.
Tourist streets
In Playa del Carmen, the entire Center area is one continuous area for tourists. It is here that all the best restaurants, bars and cafes, boutiques and shops, various galleries and parks are located. Below on the map, I marked three parks and a stadium, which are the easiest to navigate in the city.
Look at the entire area between them and along them from the coast – this will be the main tourist area of the city. From the inner part of the city, you should be limited by a highway called Avenida 50 or Avenida 50. Further north and west, I advise you never to go. The exception is a trip to Cenote Chak Tun and a walk along Benito Juarez Avenue to the Alux restaurant. The main arteries of the city are Constituentes avenues and Avenida 10 Norte.
What to see in 1 day
Since Playa del Carmen is a rather simple resort, I offer you the following excursion program:
- 08:00 – visit the Xcaret eco-park, taking an excursion.
- 17:00 – we go to the main beach of the city (public) and Shangri-La beach, take a cocktail at sunset.
- 19:00 — we look around the city center, go to shopping centers and shops.
- 22:00 – choose a restaurant for a late dinner.
What to see in the vicinity
To go to another city in Mexico, in Playa del Carmen, you need to come to the intersection of 20 Avenue North and 12th Street North (20 av North and 12 North Street). This is how this station looks like, which is not a city bus station, but a private parking lot for ADO buses (the best in Playa!):
So, from here you can get to different cities of Mexico, with and without transfers. The following ones I recommend you visit:
- Cancun (70 km) – It is worth going to Cancun from Playa del Carmen only if you really like beaches and really want to see the beaches of Cancun in the Hotelier Zone. To do this, you need to take the ADO bus to Cancun, it will take you to the Cancun bus station, then transfer to a regular bus to the Hotelier Zone. The trip will take approximately 1.5 hours in total.
- Puerto Morelos (40 km) is an amazing resort town on a very small scale that will give you a real Caribbean holiday experience! Here you can visit the zoo with monkeys (Jardín Botanico Dr. Alfredo Barrera Marin), the amazingly beautiful cenote Cenote Zapote Ecoparque (with a guided tour) and the Croco Cun Zoo (there you can touch a crocodile, feed a monkey, look at big wild cats) at the exit from the city on the highway from Cancun.
- Punta Maroma (20 km) is a small settlement next to Playa. The beach here is amazing, full of thick palm trees, and behind them the real jungle begins! There are expensive hotels nearby, so the prices here are appropriate. True, you should not go here if you do not like “wild tourism”.
- Tulum (65 km) is an ancient Mayan city located right at the water’s edge. To get to it, you must first take the Playa-Tulum bus, then transfer to a taxi. The trip will cost about 15 USD per person one way.
- Merida (280 km) – you can get here by ADO bus or Cancun-Merida plane in 1 hour. It is best to choose a plane, it will be quite cheap, especially if you go to the airport by bus. This is a colonial city with a rich history and beautiful architecture, which is worth seeing for everyone who has already flown to Mexico!

- The Island of Women (Isla Mujeres, Isla Mujeres) is located near Cancun, about 10 km from its coastline. You can only get here by ferry from Cancun. Departure is either from the beaches closest to the city (there are piers with boats and ticket sales on the Tortuga beach and at a mark of 4 km) or from the port of Gran Puerto (Gran Puerto). The fare is 20 USD. Isla Mujeres has many interesting beaches, rocky coasts, restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as hotels. Here you can take a walk, ride a rented moped, or just walk around the whole island!
- Cozumel (Isla Cozumel) is located near Playa del Carmen. Ferry tickets cost 10 USD for adults and 5 USD for children. Departure is from the terminal on Av. Lic. Benito Juarez, opposite the Palmeras Restaurant. Cozumel has some very beautiful beaches and rocky shores, snorkeling, diving and water sports.
Food. What to try
Of course, in Mexico you should definitely try Mexican cuisine, but it is in Playa del Carmen that I advise you to opt for seafood dishes. Usually they are much more expensive than meat dishes, but worth it!
Don’t order cheap squids, explore different types of fish, crayfish, try lobsters, mussels and you will definitely like it!
Recommended places
Below I have compiled a list of recommended places for you, since Playa del Carmen is just the city for lovers of bars and restaurants. On the map below, I marked them, as well as nightclubs, which I will discuss below.

- Zenzi is one of those places without which it is impossible to say that you have seen what this resort is like. A chic restaurant right under the palm trees on the beach should be visited after 17 hours. - Blue Lobster is another restaurant where you should try seafood. Opening hours: from to . The average check for a fantastic dinner with alcohol is 20 USD (400 MXN). Full address: 12 Nte, next to Mandala Club.

It captivates with an amazing interior, location in a colonial-style building, atmosphere inside and Michelin-star service in the restaurant! Opening hours: from 16:00 to 23:00. The average check for dinner is 30-60 USD (300-600 MXN). Full address: Calle 2 Norte, 50 meters from the beach.
Holidays
The BPM Festival takes place in Playa del Carmen in January and in Portugal in the summer. This festival is very popular with local youth and American student tourists. True, one should be wary of any mass gatherings in Mexico (be it entertainment, tourist holidays, religious rites, etc. ). For example, on January 16, 2017, there was shooting at the last electronic festival in Playa del Carmen, 5 people died, 15 more were injured. It should be understood that any such festivals in Mexico are primarily a place for the distribution and use of drugs (more than 60% of people will be “high” and more than half of them will be on hard drugs like cocaine). Read more about safety in Mexico below.
Security. What to watch out for
Playa del Carmen is perhaps the safest Mexican resort, if such exists. However, due to the high level of crime both in Latin America and specifically in the Yucatan, I do not recommend traveling to this part of the world with children.
Some argue that there is no crime in the Yucatan, that drug trafficking and drug trafficking take place somewhere far away, in the north of the country, but this is not so. Alas, the Yucatan also has this, just to a lesser extent. Therefore, looking deeper into any area, you may encounter an atmosphere that is clearly criminal, while at the same time in its prime. Arrests for drug trafficking are constantly taking place in the city, there is a constant (!) drug trafficking, gangs and a dominant cartel, however, as in all of Mexico.
The police walk the streets with machine guns and not two people at all, as is customary in the US or Europe. All because we are talking about well-organized crime. Attacks on law enforcement officers occur in groups of 10-12 people, and both local residents and both armed parties are sure to suffer in a shootout.
Things to do
In the vicinity of Playa del Carmen there are several interesting parks and eco-parks that will appeal to every tourist. The eco-park combines the functions of a water park, an interactive museum and, often, a beach holiday. Below you will see a map of these parks:
- Ventura Park is a great place to relax with kids! Address: Blvd. Kukulcan Km. 25 Hotel Zone (opposite the Dolphinarium). You can get here by regular bus from Playa del Carmen to Cancun, the Hotelier Zone. Ventura Amusement Park has Wet’n Wild Water Park. Open from 10 am to 5 pm, the cost of admission to both parks (36 USD for an adult and 26 USD for a child) includes lunch, buffet, soft drinks.
- Xcaret Park is an eco-entertainment park that combines a water park, a museum and a show program. The park is close to Playa del Carmen and is practically a must-see if you love water parks at all. The entrance fee is 160 USD. I wrote more about the park here.
- Xel-Ha Park (near Tulum) is another eco-friendly amusement park that is very popular in the area. I would definitely recommend it for you to visit. The entrance fee is 150 USD on the all-inclusive system.
Shopping and shops
Playa del Carmen is a great shopping resort. There are many authentic Mexican shops with local goods: from souvenirs, textiles and paintings to clothes and shoes. And in shopping centers there are a sufficient number of international brands, such as H&M, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and others.
Below I have compiled a map of shopping centers and supermarkets for those who want to bring a lot of shopping from Playa del Carmen, as well as for those who prefer to dine at home, thereby cutting their vacation budget by almost half, since restaurants in Playa del Carmen are quite expensive. Compared to, for example, Turkey, you get a threefold increase for the same quality of food and service.
So, in Playa you will find the following shopping centers:
- Plaza Quinta Alegria is a fairly large shopping center where you can find everything you need. This shopping center is designed in an American format, is very convenient and is an oasis of modernity in this resort. Opening hours: from 09:00 to 23:00. Address: Calle Quinta Avenida. Mz 35.
- Paseo Del Carmen is a small shopping center in the tourist area of Playa del Carmen. In architectural terms, it is a whole mini-district of small two-story villas, and not one building, as in an ordinary shopping center. Walking along the streets, you will find boutiques and restaurants right next to you. Opening hours: from 10:00 to 23:00. Full address: 10 Avenida Sur 8.
- Plaza Playcar is a shopping center in the area of expensive Playacar hotels, where prices are quite high by the standards of this resort. Nevertheless, it will be of interest to any lover of shopping. The architectural solution here is non-standard – the shopping center does not look like an ordinary American one, but is decorated in a colonial style with boutiques and patios with fountains. Opening hours: from 08:00 to 22:00. Full address: Paseo Xaman Ha Mz. 25Lt. 19.4 Playacar Phase II.
- Centro Maya is another US format mall in Playa del Carmen. However, it may also be of interest to you. Opening hours: from 09:00 to 23:00. Full address: Paseo Xaman Ha Mz. 25Lt. 19, 4 Playacar Phase II.
Bars. Where to go
There are a lot of bars in Playa del Carmen, and they are all concentrated in the central tourist area. There really is where to spend an unforgettable night in your life, so you should not stop at 1-2 establishments, you should go 3-6 per night to enjoy the intoxicating atmosphere of this city.
- Kitxen – for those who are primarily interested in cocktails and do not want to spend a fortune overnight. Here are quite reasonable prices that will help save the budget on a trip. Opening hours: from 10:00 to 02:00. The average check for a couple of cocktails is 10 USD. Full address: 5th Avenue and 20th Street.
- La Fe is probably one of the most popular bars in the resort. It is located right in the middle of the tourist pedestrian center, here you can sit indoors or right at the tables on the street, looking at tourists. Opening hours: from 10:00 to 02:00. The average check for dinner with alcohol is 20 USD. Full address: Quinta Avenida between Calle 26 y 28.
- La Perla Pixan Cuisine is a great bar and restaurant that has a very Mexican feel to it. Opening hours: from 11:00 to 03:00. The average check for dinner with alcohol is up to 30 USD. Full address: Calle 34 between Avenidas 5 and 10. Below is a photo of this place:
- Ranita is one of those good bars where you can just chat with friends without shouting at each other. Opening hours: from 13:00 to 02:00. The average check for a cocktail is 4-5 USD. Full address: Calle 10 between Avenida 10 y 5.
- Don Mezcal is an authentic Mexican bar where you can taste many varieties of tequila. Opening hours: from 17:30 to 03:00. The average bill for a cocktail is 4-6 USD. Full address: Quinta Avenida and Calle 10 Norte, Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
- Dolores Yucabar is a great bar with a rooftop terrace. Opening hours: from 13:00 to 03:00. The price of tequila and cocktails is from 2 to 6 USD. Full address: 1° Ave. Norte on the corner of Calle 12 Norte.
Clubs and nightlife
In total, in Playa del Carmen you can find three dozen nightclubs, dance clubs, karaoke clubs, bars with dance floors. Below I present a selection of the most modern of them, since most of the existing ones are still in a small format.
All clubs do not have an official dress code, but all local Mexicans dress quite presentably – you can see men in trouser suits, men in trousers and vests. There is a double standard here – tourists are allowed in everything except tracksuits, T-shirts and shorts (as well as sneakers and slates), and for Mexicans the dress code is very strict. That is, you, as a tourist, can come in (for guys) – trousers, a shirt and shoes, or (for girls) – shorts (but not beach ones), trousers or a skirt and any beautiful blouse.
Playa del Carmen also has an all-inclusive ticket policy. There are usually different packages to choose from. For example: admission + drinks from 1 am to 4 am costs the standard amount announced below for each club, and another option: entrance + drink from 11 pm to 6 am + branded cocktail costs 30-50% more.
Attention: all nightclubs in Playa are strictly only allowed from 18 years old, so you may have to show documents if you look younger.
- Mandala is a great nightclub for those who are not used to dancing all night and just want to go to the club for some fun late at night. Usually only young people up to 26-27 years old rest here. Opening hours: from 22:00 to 3:00. Entrance fee – 75 USD with drinks. Full address: Calle 12 Av. 1ra, Col.Centro.
- Coco Maya is a very modern club with only DJs, no shows of dance bands, vocals and other artists. True, some DJs rap. I would advise this club only for those who are 18-30 years old, as it is usually very crowded and uncomfortable to relax in the traditional sense of the word – here, first of all, they dance, jump, actively participate in the performance of DJs. The club is quite large, designed for 3000 people. Opening hours: from 23:00 to 6:00. Entrance fee – VIP with drinks 65 USD. Full address: Calle 11 Norte.
- Coco Bongo is a large modern club that hosts great shows every day. Here you can not only dance and drink, but also watch performances by artists, dance troupes, burlesque. In total, there are 30-40 different performances per night. The entire contingent is represented here – American and Mexican tourists from 20 to 60 years old. I would say that this club is more designed for an audience of 20-30 years old, but the tourists come here are very different. Opening hours: from 23:30 to 6:00. Entrance price – 70 USD, including all drinks. Cocktails are free. Full address: Calle 12 Norte 10 (at the intersection of 12th and 10th streets).
Extreme Sports
In Playa del Carmen, all extreme activities are related to water sports. Here are some of them that may be of interest to you:
- Flight with a parachute tied to a boat (i.e. parasailing) – 80 USD.
- Water bike, rent – 40 USD per half hour. This watercraft may not be given to a minor child, but usually the rules are not so strict, there are exceptions (for example, from 14 or 16 years old).
- Scuba diving – 80-100 USD. This adventure is quite expensive, but it’s worth it! Usually the boat will take you to the bay of Cozumel island or to one of the lagoons in the Yucatan, which you will definitely enjoy!
Souvenirs.
What to bring as a gift
From Playa del Carmen, I strongly advise you not to bring souvenirs at all. Usually masks, textiles or lamps bought here do not fit into the interior at all.
Mexican culture is so colorful that all the souvenirs will be inappropriately colored, and in the end they will just have to be hidden in a closet. Therefore, I advise you to limit yourself to fridge magnets (how could it be without it!) And modern-style clothes from branded stores (American, mostly).
At the same time, very colorful figurines on the theme of Dia de los Muertos are sold here, which will delight lovers of bright souvenirs; quite interesting decorations made of ornamental stones, which calmly flow into simple or classic interiors. On the streets there are souvenir shops with baubles, on which any inscription is quickly sewn as a keepsake. Finally, stunning golden obsidian can be found here – a stone collector’s dream!
How to get around the city
The easiest way to get around Playa del Carmen is on foot, since 90% of areas are housing for locals and not interesting for tourists. And the sights in the surroundings are worth seeing with the help of excursions, this is the most convenient solution for everyone.
Taxi. What features exist
A taxi around the city costs around 3-5 USD, but in principle everything is accessible on foot. The fare is paid only in cash, preferably in dollars. Below you will see a map of the location of taxi ranks, companies and telephones:
Buses
Regular buses run around the city with a fare of 1 USD (3 MXN), which most tourists simply do not need, because the central region is located in a fairly convenient geographical position and does not require too much effort from visitors to explore it. Buses are paid in pesos only, dollars are not accepted, stops are usually on demand.
Car rental
Car rental in Playa del Carmen is in demand among tourists to see the Mayan ruins throughout the peninsula, various cenotes and nearby cities. However, if you plan to see only 3-5 sights, you should also consider getting there by bus and / or taxi, as it will be much cheaper.
Renting a good car costs about 100 USD per day, payment is made in Mexican pesos or dollars. Here you can compare prices from different distributors.
Tips for motorists
Renting a car in Mexico is only worthwhile if you want to see more than 5 or even 10 sights in the area on your own, as bus service and cheap taxis are everywhere. And in Playa itself, the central area, where all the most interesting and necessary is located, is quite convenient for walking, so there is no need to rent a car.
Playa del Carmen — holidays with children
Despite the fact that there are many eco-parks, cenotes and water activities in this region of Mexico, I would not advise going to Playa del Carmen with children, since Mexico is still not the best safe and clean place.
There have been thousands of cases of severe poisoning (when the effects are felt for months or weeks), deterioration of immunity after a trip, not to mention culture shock among children and adults.
So, personally, I advise Turkey for holidays with children (Oludeniz – for kids under 3 years old, Kemer – for schoolchildren and Marmaris – for teenagers).

Detailed Ibiza party programs 20130006 is the most popular and glamorous nightclub in Ibiza, with several branch clubs in mainland Spain.
The main advantage is a truly huge VIP area and an equally impressive outdoor terrace where you can take a breath of fresh air after long dances on the dance floor. Among the shortcomings, many DJs note poor sound tuning and the privilege of only one musical direction (house almost always dominates here, and with a rather tangible commercial flavor). Nightclub Pacha has a relatively small but cozy area, it is located on the outskirts of the capital city – Ibiza, on the second line from the sea, in a prestigious area. The club’s work schedule depends on the season, in the summer it opens its doors every night, the entrance fee can reach 70 euros (with an average range of 20-50 euros), the rest of the time – only on weekends and holidays. Despite the pretentiousness of the club, there is no strict dress control in it, you can come here both in a boiler dress and in your favorite jeans, but men, of course, should look for something more decent than shorts in their wardrobe. The most popular parties are “F*** Me I’m Famous”, literally crowds of people come to them, so it can be unrealistically crowded, so there is practically no place for dancing, you just have to stand and listen.
Address: Av del Ocho de Agosto, Ibiza Town
Amnesia
The Amnesia nightclub has been repeatedly recognized as the best club in the world by IDMA. Which is well deserved Amnesia is a really great club: great decor, great sound and amazing parties. The club gained international fame after the fall of the Berlin Wall, when it became so popular and noisy that residents of the neighboring city of San Rafael demanded that the Amnesia dance floors be covered with a roof. Early 19In the 90s, more than 15 bars were already working in the nightclub, and the staff of the institution was 200 employees in the high season. The main residents of this nightclub were British DJs. It was during these years that Ibiza became the club capital of the world. Now Amnesia is a nightclub where more than 7,000 rave fans can relax at the same time. A VIP zone stretches along the perimeter of the entire second floor, and in order to cool the ardor of the conquerors of the dance floor, two “ice guns” are installed in the Amnesia club, which douse them with cold air flows. Amnesia also hosts foam parties – Espuma, where huge clouds of foam literally fall on the dance floor. The audience of Amnesia is quite diverse, people of different ages and incomes can relax here, no one will be superfluous. From the tourist centers of Playa d’en Bossa and San Antonio, the nightclub can be reached by branded red buses, and it’s completely free. The entrance ticket price varies from €30 to €55 for Cream and Cocoon discos, depending on the season, the entrance fee for other days is from €20 to €30. The price for cocktails is €12 or more, for beer €10. Prices in the bars of the upper tier are higher.
Address: km 5 Ibiza – San Antonio road, San Rafael
Space
The history of the club began in 1989 with British DJs Alex P and Brandon Block. Before them, Space terrace was never used for dancing, but was a favorite place for morning conversations over a cup of coffee. The roar of music periodically interrupts the noise of flying planes, the mass greeting of which has become a kind of feature of this nightclub. As with Amnesia, due to complaints from local residents about noise, the terrace had to be covered with a roof. In addition to the popular terrace, the Space nightclub has 5 more dance floors. Until 2008, Spanish laws allowed to work 22 hours a day, so in Space 2 hours rested, and the rest of the time came off to its fullest. However, under the new laws, a restriction has been introduced to open no earlier than 16:30, and close no later than 6:00. The Space nightclub is perfectly on the edge between underground and public, which distinguishes it from many other nightclubs in Ibiza. The main contingent of Space is young and unpretentious, but at the same time quite stylish people who know a lot about quality music. Prices 20-45 dollars for the entrance, depending on the program of the party.
Address: Playa D’en Bossa, San Jose
Eden
The symbol of the nightclub is an apple cut in half. By the way, the neighboring club Es Paradis has a whole apple on its emblem, perhaps this is the result of many years of competition. Most of the visitors to the club Eden are young Britons and Irish, who celebrate the moment of freedom with unimaginable scope and noise, finally breaking free of parental care. They came to Ibiza to party and do it with all their heart. Russian clubbers are usually ironic about the action raging here, so they drop in here as if on an excursion, but only a few stay all night. But a huge advantage of Eden is its quite good location in the resort town of San Antonio, which attracts the club’s target audience with fairly affordable prices for hotel accommodation. In general, if you are young and plan to rock from dusk to dawn with a bunch of peers – the doors of Eden are open for you, just keep in mind that despite all of the above, the Eden club has a rather strict dress control, so do not expect to get there in shorts and T-shirts . The entrance fee varies from 20 to 50 euros depending on the party.
Address: Salvador Espiriu, San Antonio de Portmany
Es Paradis
In the ranking of Ibiza’s super clubs, Es Paradis unfortunately occupies the last lines. As we said earlier, it is located side by side with the Eden Club in the center of San Antonio and suffers from the same disease: the exceptionally young age of the visitors and their noisy, obnoxious and not always pleasant manners. Sophisticated clubbers have nothing to do there frankly. Initially, the Es Paradis nightclub was conceived as an open-air format, and thanks to the colonnade reminiscent of ancient temples, it was a favorite place for holding fashion shows and filming glamorous clips. But since 1990, when the building had to be covered with a 120-ton pyramid, the zest disappeared somewhere along with its former brilliance. But still, one feature has been preserved for more than 30 years – these are the legendary Fiesta Del Agua water parties, where hits from different years sound, and by morning, real fountains start to beat from the walls and floor, turning the club into a real pool. But at the same time, entrance in bathing suits to the disco is prohibited, so many take them with them or put them on under ordinary clothes, which they then take off. The entrance fee to the club is 30-40 euros, drinks – 10-12 euros.
Address: Salvador Espriu 2, Sant Antoni De Portmany
Thanks to countless nightclubs, Ibiza has long become a reference youth resort, where like a magnet it attracts clubbers from all over the world. You can choose tours to Ibiza in the “Search for tours” section or call our office (8332) 45-33-34.
