South Florida in April is exactly what you’d expect it to be: white sandy beaches, sunny skies, and fun nightlife. The warm weather and clear days make it a perfect reprieve from a snowy winter.

If you’re looking to scratch an art fix, spend half a day at Wynwood Walls arts district and grab lunch at a nearby cafe.

And if you want to extend your trip into even warmer climes, consider hopping on a cruise into The Caribbean, departing from either Miami or Fort Lauderdale.

Sedona, Arizona

April is a perfect time to visit the Southwestern United States, with daytime temps not yet reaching the scorching levels of the summertime.

Sedona offers eclectic restaurants, cafes and galleries, with well-established tourist infrastructure to make your stay comfortable.

April is an ideal time to lounge by the pool at one of Vegas’ many hotels and resorts, catch an evening show, and try your luck at a round of blackjack. Better yet, if you can stay mid-week, you’ll escape a lot of the weekend crowds and find great rates at normally pricey hotels.

If you want to extend your trip, consider heading out to the Grand Canyon, or explore a hiking trail just outside the city.

Clear skies and abundant outdoor activities make Austin a fantastic destination to visit in April. With bluebonnets in bloom, take a road trip out to the Hill Country, and enjoy a wine tasting at one of the region’s many vineyards.

Back in the city, Barton Springs Pool is a must-do activity in April. It’s a natural pool located close to downtown with views of the skyline, and the water temperature is a constant 68 degrees year-round. Pro Tip: To avoid long lines, go to the South (rather than North) Entrance of the pool.

After your swim, check out nearby Terry Black’s Barbecue for lunch, and then enjoy an afternoon of shopping along hip South Congress Avenue.

Guadalajara, Mexico

Mexico’s second-largest city is an often overlooked but highly recommended destination to visit. With a population of five million people, it has all the amenities of a large city—without the fast pace of Mexico City.

Must-sees are the main cathedral and surrounding colonial-style streets, the flea market at Tlaquepaque, and a day trip to the aptly-named town of Tequila, just one hour outside of the city.

Note that if you visit Mexico during Semana Santa (Holy Week), expect big celebrations but also higher accommodation prices and larger crowds. The dates for this week change every year, so do a quick Google search to see if your trip coincides with this time.

Andalucía, Spain

The southern part of Spain offers tourists beautiful mountain ranges, the stunning Mediterranean coast, and gastronomical delights. 

Be sure to spend a few days in the largest city in the area, Seville, which is easily reachable by high-speed train from the capital Madrid.

Then head over to Córdoba and Granada for beautiful cathedrals and Roman ruins. Cap your trip off with a couple of days in easygoing seaside Málaga and/or Marbella.

Australia’s largest city is a great place to visit in April. In April, Australia is just heading into the second month of fall, so the summer heat—and crowds—have subsided and the days are cooler but still comfortable. 

Be sure to take a walk around Circular Quay to see the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Then jump on a ferry to hop over to Taronga Zoo, one of the most picturesque zoos in the world, or over to Manly Beach, which has a more local vibe than the more touristy Bondi Beach. Sea temperatures in April are still warm enough for comfortable swimming (although the water cools off towards the end of the month).

I believe everyone deserves a vacation. Most people think that a vacation should be in a tropical paradise where sometimes your skin seems to melt due to the extreme heat (maybe I exaggerated just a little, but you know what I mean!). Skip the tropical beaches in the Summer and go on a great vacation in the Spring to a warm place instead! I have put together a great list of a few of the warm places to go in April. You can choose to take a road trip through the USA or maybe you might want to see Europe or Asia. Either way, I can help you if you do not know where to head to. Don’t worry, as I have you covered, so keep reading to find a few warm places to travel to in April.

Savannah, Georgia, USA

Just my favorite city in the USA! Spring is definitely the best time to visit Savannah, Georgia. In April, the weather is warm enough to enjoy nearby beach activities and other outdoor activities. You can even enjoy the azalea flowering season. You can get to know this city by walking its squares: Johnson, Wright, Madison, Monterey, and Chippewa squares. You, of course, must see the fountain at Forsyth Park because it is one of the oldest fountains in the country and dates back to the 1850s.

If you are looking for adventure then you must rent a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or go boating in the water. Kiteboarding on Tybee Island is also a great place to view the city and get in some exercise.

North Lake Tahoe, California USA

Go visit North Lake Tahoe in California, as it is a blast during the month of April. The warm weather of April allows for trips to the parks, the beaches, and even the hiking trails. There is a beautiful view of the Fanette Island and tea house from the Emerald Bay State Park. Other great hikes in Lake Tahoe are Rubicon Trail, Eagle Rock Trailhead, Shirley Canyon Trail, Five Lakes Trail, Pinedrop Trail, and Stateline Lookout. You can get a real look at Mother Nature’s beauty and wildlife at the King’s Beach State Recreation Area. It is located in downtown Kings Beach between Bear and Coon Street on the shores of North Lake Tahoe.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

I know I may have mentioned that a tropical beach is not the best getaway but the warm weather of April allows for an exception. Besides sunbathing or swimming along the stunning seven-mile beach, there are plenty of other activities to partake in. Visit the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park for a glimpse at the preservation of the Island’s flora and fauna. You can make your trip memorable by visiting Stingray City and feeding the stingrays! Take a night tour to the bioluminescent bay and swim in the fluorescent water. Other things to do and see in Grand Cayman are: visit the Crystal Caves, go horseback riding along the beach, go kitesurfing, or just go to Hell Grand Cayman! Enjoy the Cayman cuisine while you are here!

Porto, Portugal

While Lisbon may be the front-runner for the most-visited place in Portugal, the city of Porto has amazing places to see and fun things to do during the spring months. The must-see attractions in Porto include Torre dos Clerigos, stroll along the Cais da Ribeira, cruise along the Duoro River, Fundacao Seralves Museum and a trip to a port wine cellar. This city is home to the port wine and you can visit old warehouses and major cellars that offer wine tastings and guided tours. The warm weather allows you to check out the city without large crowds and you can get better deals on hotels and flights.

Venice, Italy

You might want to seize the opportunity to visit Venice in the next few years before it begins to sink deeper into the sea. Torrential rain and floods are not as common during the month of April, so this is a great time to visit Venice. The first thing you must do in Venice is to take a gondola ride along the Grand Canal. Other amazing things to do and see include: eating gelato, visiting St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, visiting Doge’s Palace, checking out the Bridge of Sighs and walking along the Rialto Bridge (a scene from Spiderman: Far from Home was shot at this location). While you are in Venice, be sure to take the ferry over to Burano, it will be a colorful experience for sure!

Amori, Japan

The main reason for visiting Amori in April is to see the cherry blossoms. These pale-pink flowers can be spotted in places like Ashino Park, Hirosaki Park, and Towada City Kanchogai-dori. Other beautiful places to see in Amori are Showa Daibutsu, Hakkoda Ropeway, Amore Museum of Art and Aoiumi Park. Wilmington North Carolina, USA

The city of Wilmington, North Carolina supports many wonderful festivals and activities throughout the year and April’s calendar is usually full of fun things to see and do. For those who prefer a historical view of the city, you should visit the following attractions: Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, Fort Fisher Historic Area, St. James Episcopal Church (the oldest church in the city), Sunset Park Historic District, and the Wilmington Railroad Museum.

They also have the Azalea festival in the spring, which is the biggest arts festival in Wilmington. This annual art festival goes from April 1^st to April 5^th this year. You can check out the awesome Spring Art Show and even the 3-D art creations. A DO NOT MISS is the Airlie Gardens, which has more than 60 acres of formal gardens. Also, I think the warm weather calls for a calming walk along the Carolina Beach Boardwalk or Carolina Beach State Park.

It does not matter to which of these places you want to visit, but you should visit at least one of the above-mentioned places during April. The warm weather is perfect for almost every event and activity you want to partake in. If your budget cannot handle a big European trip, then stay in the States and have a wonderful spring trip. Is it possible to have a cheap holiday abroad? Of course, because there are good old Turkish resorts! This is one of the most inexpensive options where you can relax by the sea in April 2023.

We advise you to fly to Turkey in the spring, although not the time for a beach holiday. But there are no crowds of tourists, hotels and beaches are half empty, prices are low and there is no stuffiness. The perfect time to explore the beauties of Turkey. Want to swim? Choose a hotel where the pool is heated. We rested in Antalya, Side and Alanya in April – we stayed in good five-star hotels for very modest money (we paid one and a half to two times cheaper than in summer) and were very pleased. UAE — 40 000 ₽/person

You can have a cheap rest by the warm sea in April 2023 in the Emirates.

In April 2023, you can fly to Thailand for a relatively inexpensive vacation! Vouchers to top hotels are cheaper than in winter. We lived in Phuket in April and the first half of May and were satisfied with the rest: hotel prices are dropping, and there are much fewer people in the resorts. Lots of cheap fruits appear.

April is a month of transition between high and low seasons. Not everyone is comfortable in such conditions: humidity rises, it rains more often, the sea is not always calm. Yanui beach in Phuket we really liked. It is picturesque and almost idyllic!

India — 50 000 ₽/person

Entry conditions. The country has lifted all covid restrictions from November 22, 2022. Travel no longer requires tests, vaccinations and filling out online forms. You only need to get a visa, it is done online and is inexpensive.

In April 2023, you can have a cheap vacation at sea in India. April is the off-season, the transition to the rainy season in Goa. Gradually it becomes hotter and wetter, stuffiness is hard to endure. The sea is already restless, muddy. There are almost no tourists, and most sheks are closed. Traveling is uncomfortable. Vietnam

Entry conditions. Vietnam receives tourists from the Russian Federation. All covid restrictions have been lifted. Without a visa – 15 days, to Phu Quoc – 30 days. You can also get email. visa for 30 days for $25.

You can have a good rest in April on the sea in Vietnam: +30…+33°С in Nha Trang, +33…+35°С in Mui Ne and Phu Quoc. Sea +27°C and above. It rains, but very rarely. Long Beach in Phu Quoc is really long! Almost all the hotels of the island are concentrated along it.

Maldives

Entry conditions. All covid restrictions lifted.

We rested in the Maldives in April on different local islands: Rasdhoo, Thoddoo and Ukulhas. The weather was ideal for a beach holiday, snorkeling and excursions: during the day it was over +30°C, it was completely calm and without precipitation, the sea cooled pleasantly. In general, this is a transitional month, because the rainy season begins in May, and usually the weather is not so accommodating. There are waves and rains, but we were lucky.

We are on vacation in the Maldives. Snow-white beaches, azure water, fish, corals. Beautiful! And for the whole vacation we spent only 45,000 ₽ for two – it turned out quite inexpensively.

Israel

Entry conditions. Israel accepts tourists from the Russian Federation, all you need is insurance covering treatment for coronavirus. There are no covid restrictions.

Israel is another good destination where you can relax in April 2023 by the sea. Warm water on the Red Sea in Eilat and Ein Bokek on the Dead Sea.

Sri Lanka

Entry conditions. All covid restrictions have been lifted from December 7, 2022.

April is the last month before heavy rains in Sri Lanka. During the day it is very warm +32°С, sea water +30°С. The sky is often overcast and it can rain in the evening. We were in Sri Lanka in March and traveled half the country. The island is very colorful! We definitely recommend going there. Spain

Entry conditions. Spain issues tourist visas to Russians. The sky is closed to Russian aircraft. There are no covid restrictions.

The weather in Tenerife is excellent: +24°C on average, the humidity is low and there is almost no rain, it is sunny. Head south at the end of the month – there you can already sunbathe with might and main and even swim in the bays. Read useful articles about Spain.

Bali

Entry conditions. Only with a certificate of vaccination, and at least 14 days must have passed since the date of the last vaccination. You also need covid insurance and a return ticket or a ticket to another country. A visa can be obtained on arrival for 30 days and extended once for another 30 days. The price is $35.

Bali is not exactly suitable for a beach holiday. First of all, it is culture and nature, excursions and outdoor activities. If beaches are important, choose Nusa Dua and Sanur – there are the least waves. We also rested in Bali in April, but lived in Ubud and explored the north of the island. During the day it is hot and humid + 30 ° C, sometimes it rained – more often at night. Everything is as usual in Southeast Asia!

Where else to relax in April 2023 at sea . Warm and sunny on exotic islands – the Seychelles and the Philippines. But the European resorts of the Mediterranean Sea will be ready for a beach holiday only at the end of May – beginning of June.

What is the best way to spend time in Turkey in April?

Of course, the April weather is not quite suitable for active swimming in the sea. The weather can change several times a day, from warm and sunny to cool and drizzling, but unobtrusive rain.
