The

Palm Course

The Palm Course (narrow course) designed by Hall of Fame golfer Gary Player, offers a tournament-grade challenge for any avid golfer. The narrow front nine require precise shot-making ability, with water and wind testing the player’s ability. The back nine play completely different as longer; wider more elevated holes allow you a moment to appreciate the beauty of this course while relaxing your vigilance just a bit. Holes #14 and #16 overlook the Caribbean and Vieques and allow the player to contemplate the wonders of nature.

Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf in 1995

The Palm Course hosted Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf in1995. Filmed on June 6th and aired nationally on ABC on December 10, 1995. The broadcast showed Puerto Rico’s Chi Chi Rodríguez defeat Lee Treviño 72 to 74 in Medal Play.

The

Flamboyán Course

The Flamboyán Course has already raised the benchmark by which all future Caribbean golf courses are measured. Offering golfers of all levels both a challenging experience and a beautiful setting in which to play, the Flamboyán Course has been ranked as the second-best course in Puerto Rico by Golf Digest (November 2003) and the best course on the island by Barron’s Magazine (March 1999). Built on a former sugar cane plantation, the course was routed to let the prevailing trade winds provide additional challenges. This is especially true on two of the course’s longest holes, the par 5 seventh and the par 4 ninth.

The challenge and beauty of the 12th hole

The most memorable hole on the Flamboyán Course is the par 3 twelfth hole. This challenging hole is played downhill, but into the wind, to a large green framed by bunkers left and right. Behind the green, coconut palms and the Caribbean Sea provide a distractingly beautiful backdrop for all to enjoy.

Welcome

Club House

The Club House with approximately 40,000 square feet includes the Golf Pro Shop, the well renown Chez Daniel restaurant, a member’

s lounge, ladies and gentlemen locker rooms as well as bag storage facilities.

Hole by Hole – North Course

HOLE 1 – NORTH – PAR 5
North #1 is a tricky par 5. The tee shot is played from an elevated tee box down the right side of the fairway avoiding the hazard that protects the left side of the fairway. From there a lay-up will be your best option, leaving a short iron third over the culvert to the elevated green.

HOLE 2 – NORTH – PAR 4
North #2 is a simple straightaway hole from the tee. Club selection is the key on the second shot to avoid the deep bunker fronting the green.

HOLE 3 – NORTH – PAR 4
The signature hole of the north course is hole #3. A long iron or fairway wood through our famous bent palm trees sets up a short iron approach to a green protected by bunkers and water.

HOLE 4 – NORTH – PAR 3
North #4 is a difficult par 3 that requires a precise tee shot over water that surrounds the front and right sides of the green. Aim toward the center to avoid the large bunker behind the green.

HOLE 5 – NORTH – PAR 5
North #5 is a picturesque par 5 requiring an accurate tee shot down the left side of the fairway. The hole is reachable in two for long hitters but the second shot will require your very best to carry over the valley to an elevated two-tiered green that is surrounded by bunkers and heavy rough. Never be disappointed with a 5.

HOLE 6 – NORTH –PAR 4
North #6 is a short but very tricky par 4. Long hitters can carry the two large fairway bunkers leaving a very short approach to the green. Shorter hitters need to be precise from the tee to make it over the small ravine and avoid the bunkers. The second shot must carry the large bunker fronting the green.

HOLE 7 – NORTH – PAR 4
North #7 requires your tee shot to carry across the valley leaving a short second shot to the elevated, two tiered green. A definite birdie opportunity.

HOLE 8 – NORTH – PAR 3
North #8 is short, downhill par 3 that requires proper club selection to avoid the bunker on the left side to set up a birdie opportunity. Many an ace has been made here.

HOLE 9 – NORTH –PAR 4
North #9 is a strong finishing hole that requires your best from both the tee and the fairway. The tee shot must carry the ravine and avoid the trees left and bunker right setting up a tough second shot to a well protected green. Always be happy with par here.

Hole by Hole – South Course

HOLE 1 – SOUTH – PAR 4
South #1 requires an accurate tee shot played to edge of the valley before crossing the valley to the green with your second. Longer hitters will play a long iron or fairway wood from the tee.

HOLE 2 – SOUTH
South #2 is a gentle par 4 from the blue and forward tees, but plays longer and tighter from the new black tee. A slight fade is ideal from the tee to avoid the bunker left leaving a medium to short iron into the elevated green.

HOLE 3 – SOUTH – PAR 4
South #3 is a demanding hole requiring an accurate tee shot to avoid the bunkers on either side of the fairway. Aim your approach shot just over the greenside bunker, leaving yourself short of the deceiving downhill chip or putt. Par is always a good score here.

HOLE 4 – SOUTH – PAR 3
South #4 is a tough Par 3 that plays more than 200 yards from the new Black Tee. A menacing bunker protects the front right side of the green and a large Eucalyptus tree protects the left. A par is a great score.

HOLE 5 – SOUTH – PAR 4
South #5 requires a conservative tee shot for longer hitters, followed by a difficult second shot over the lake to a large undulating green.

HOLE 6 – SOUTH – PAR 5
At more than 550 yards from the black tee, South #6 is a long, tough par 5 that requires power and accuracy. A solid tee shot that avoids the two fairway bunkers must be followed by a second shot over a deep ravine. This will leave you with a short iron into the well protected green.

HOLE 7 – SOUTH – PAR 4
South #7 is one of the prettiest holes on the golf course. A long iron or fairway wood from the tee is ideally placed just left of the water to set up a short or middle iron second shot into a very receptive green. Two solid shots will produce an excellent birdie opportunity.

HOLE 8 – SOUTH – PAR 3
South #8 is a short but deceptively difficult par 3. Club selection is of the utmost importance, particulalry when the pin is tucked behind the bunker fronting the left side of the green.

HOLE 9 – SOUTH – PAR 4
A well placed tee shot down the right side of the fariway sets up a short iron approach over the lake at South #9. Accuracy and proper club selection from the tee are required. Not a long finishing hole, but it always plays tough.

HOLE BY HOLE – WEST COURSE

HOLE 1 – WEST
West #1 is a demanding starting hole. The elevated tee shot is ideally played down the left side of the large fairway below opening up a mid to long iron approach to a small, elevated green.

HOLE 2 – WEST – PAR 3
West #2 is long par 3 that may be the most difficult hole on the entire golf course. Tough to reach for many players, the narrow two tiered green offers as much challenge as the length of the hole itself. Make par here and you’ll be smiling all day.

HOLE 3 – WEST – PAR 5
#3 is the last and longest of the valley holes on the West course. At more than 600 yards from the black tee this hole requires power on all three shots. The undulated, elevated green provides a challenge to finish off this lengthy hole.

HOLE 4 – WEST – PAR 4
West #4 is a soft dogleg to the right requiring an accurate left to right tee shot that sets up a short iron approach to a large green.

HOLE 5 – WEST – PAR 4
Playing into the heart of the resort, West #5 presents players with a great birdie opportunity if the water that surrounds the fairway and green can be avoided. This is a classic risk / reward par 4!

HOLE 6 – WEST – PAR 3
West #6 is a short but menacing par 3 played over the water with a short iron to a green that slopes severely from back to front.

HOLE 7 – WEST – PAR 4
West #7 is a reachable par 5 that rewards long hitters with many birdie opportunities. The left side of the fairway is preferred as it opens up the green that is well protected by a large bunker short and right.

HOLE 8 – WEST – PAR 4
West #1 is a demanding starting hole. The elevated tee shot is ideally played down the left side of the large fairway below opening up a mid to long iron approach to a small, elevated green.

HOLE 9 – WEST – PAR 4
#9 is a gentle dogleg right that brings plenty of challenge to the finish off the west course. A long accurate tee shot down the left center is ideal. An accurate mid-iron approach is required to avoid the large lake short and right of the green and the large bunker to the left.
