10 Best Stops on the Las Vegas Strip for First Timers (with map)

The Las Vegas strip is one of the most famous and more expensive streets in the world. If you come to Las Vegas for the first time, before doing all the food and gambling and partying, you must take a walking tour of the most iconic places on the Strip. There are many ways to walk the strip for the first time, but after visiting Vegas many times I have created my own beautiful walking tour of the strip. So, come along with me for a walking tour of the Las Vegas strip for first timers.

Stretching for just under 5 miles, the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most famous streets in the world. It is a strip of the Las Vegas Boulevard, from Tropicana Avenue (and bit south of it) going north to Sahara Avenue (and a bit north of it). In addition to being famous, the Strip in Las Vegas, is probably one of the most expensive streets in the world. So, let’s put aside gambling and drinking for a while and put on some comfortable walking shoes and come along with me on my favorite walk on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers.

With our printable walking map of Las Vegas Strip in our hands, let’s start walking and taking in all the lights and sounds. In a way this walking tour can also serve as a 1 day in Las Vegas itinerary, especially if you are tight on time. Or, to put it another way, this is your first time in Vegas checklist for 2022.

Take a tour of the Strip. If you want to take in the Las Vegas Strip in one fun-filled trip, then take the Las Vegas 3-Hour Night Tour by Open-Top Bus. This trip will give you a great introduction to the glamorous Las Vegas Strip with all the lights on at night.
Stay in Vegas. When we visit Las Vegas we usually stay at the Polo Towers right next to the strip. Their apartment rooms are a great value, especially for families. If you like a quieter place we’ve always enjoyed Cancun resort for their pool and kid friendly environment. Another budget friendly option is Park MGM  (great location and price). You can also find other budget hotels in Vegas.

1. MGM Bridge

The Strip, Las Vegas, Nevada – The Strip at night from the bridge to New York, New York.
See my photos from Las Vegas Strip

I like starting my walk by crossing the bridge from MGM Grand to New York, New York and take in the sights to the north (and south). Especially at night, the lights are very impressive. If you’re staying off the Strip, and you have to drive ve in,  you can park in the MGM parking lot and go out to the Strip. Then, as we get to the other side of Las Vegas Boulevard, we start walking North.

The strip in Las Vegas, Nevada is indeed spectacular at night.
See my photos from Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is most impressive at night. This is because all the amazing lights are on and you see how each Las Vegas resort struggles for your attention. Newer construction in Las Vegas is always bigger and better and has more lights in order to compete for you, the customer. As you cross to the other side, you can also go south a bit and explore New York, New York, especially the Brooklyn Bridge replica outside, which has restaurants and live music.

If you’re asking what to do on your first night in Vegas, I always suggest to visit the most famous resorts on the Strip starting with New York, New York and working your way up to Caesar’s Palace.

See Cirque du Soleil at MGM. The “Ka” show is a beautiful family friendly show by Cirque du Soleil at MGM. With amazing acrobatics and a completely mobile stage, “Ka” is a great show for you to enjoy while in Vegas. Get the best price for Ka Cirque du Soleil show at MGM.

2. Shopping at the Crystals

As we keep walking North on Las Vegas Strip, we see the famous Las Vegas Hard Rock Café on the right across the street, but we keep walking north until we get to the Shops at Crystals. We go inside to admire the newer and high end shops inside, leading inside the Aria resort.

We don’t go inside the Aria resort (you can also go inside Aria if you are first time in Vegas), but instead we come out still further north and exit Crystals to the bridge over Harmon Avenue. We cross over the bridge and continue to stay on the same side of the strip.

3. Cosmopolitan

The Chandler is the iconic symbol of the Cosmopolitan
See my photos from Las Vegas Strip

The Cosmopolitan, like Aria, is one of the newer resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Coming out from the Aria shopping area on the connecting bridge we come into the large Chandelier inside Cosmopolitan. If you come around breakfast time, until 11 am, you can a joy the gorgeous breakfast buffet at the Wicked Spoon inside the Cosmopolitan.

We go down the escalator, through the gambling area and exit to the North and continue walking on the Strip.

4. The Bellagio Conservatory

Beautiful gardens at The Conservatory inside The Bellagio Resort.
See my photos from The Bellagio, Las Vegas

As we continue walking north past The Cosmopolitan we come upon the impressive Bellagio. I like taking the escalators towards the Bellagio right before the amazing fountains. The escalators take us to the left and up the hill. As we walk up towards the Bellagio entrance, you have the best views of the Paris resort across the street. These are some of the best spots for great pictures and it is a must do on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers.

See Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio.  A beautiful family friendly show, the “O” is my favorite Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas. Get the best ticket prices for “O” Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio.

Paris, Nevada – Beautiful night view of The Eiffel Tower and the Fountains at the Bellagio

Go inside the Bellagio and visit the Bellagio Conservatory, which includes gorgeous gardens that change every season during the year. Take your time and walk slowly through the beautiful flower arrangements.

5. Fountains at the Bellagio

The beautiful Fountains at the Bellagio water show happens many times a day.
See my photos from The Bellagio, Las Vegas

We’re coming out from inside the Bellagio and going immediately left as we exit. We will walk down and around the beautiful lake with great view of the Paris resort right in front of us. Take your time walking down and find a good spot to see the water fountain show. Simply put, the Fountains of Bellagio water show is a must see event on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers. Here is the schedule of the daily show.

The Fountains of Bellagio is a daily show in Las Vegas. The show is every 30 minutes from 3pm to 8pm Monday through Friday and every 15 minutes from 8pm to midnight. On Sundays the show starts at 11am every 30 minutes until 7pm when the show goes on every 15 minutes until midnight.

Once the water show ends, continue walking North and around the Bellagio resort. Go inside and take the escalators up and then take a right on the bridge that will take you across Flamingo Road to Caesar’s Palace resort.

6. Shop at the Forum

As you cross over Flamingo Road you will come to Caesar’s Palace and Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurant which is a great place for lunch or dinner.  However, keep walking a little bit North until you come to the entrance to the Shops at the Forum.  This is a beautiful place for shopping and eating and especially if you’re into shopping, this area is a must do on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers.

Walk to the end of the shops and you can checkout the large aquarium and Fall of Atlantis water and fire show. If you have small children they will like this little space inside Shops at the Forum.

7. The Venetian

As you come out of Shops at the Forum area, keep walking North a little bit until you can cross The Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard). As you cross the street, you will be right in front of the Venetian resort. There is also lots of shopping inside the Venetian, but I like to go inside and look at the gondolas and admire the pretty copy of Piazza San Marco from Venice Italy. Yes it’s fake, but pretty cool and a must visit on Las Vegas Strip for first timers.
Take a gondola ride & visit Madame Tussauds.  While short, a gondola ride at Venetian is a great experience. Save money when you bundle a gondola ride with Madame Tussauds admission at Venetian.
Now, it’s time to walk back South on The Strip towards where we started off: the MGM bridge.
Best Things to See at the Venetian

8.

The LINQ Promenade

The Las Vegas High Roller seen from the LINQ Promenade

Walking South right past the oldest Las Vegas Strip resort Harrah, you will find the newer and smaller LINQ resort. Right past it turn left onto The LINQ Promenade leading to the very tall and impressive High Roller Ferris Wheel. This newer area is hip and a cool place on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers especially.

LINQ Promenade is the newest revived areas on the Las Vegas Strip. It boasts lots of restaurants run by the world’s most famous cooks like Gordon Ramsey’s Fish and Chips.

Ride the High Roller. Depending on the season, the lines at the High Roller can be long, so you can get Skip-the-Line Tickets to High Roler and avoid the crowds.

9. Paris

Beautiful water fountain in front of the Music Academy building at Paris, Las Vegas
See my photos from Paris, Las Vegas

After your fake, but entertaining taste of Italy at the Venetian, it’s time for some French taste at Paris resort. So, let’s walk back South and cross the bridge towards the iconic Paris, Las Vegas resort. Paris is also a must see resort on the Las Vegas Strip for first timers especially.

Walking South, past Harrah’s and Flamingo you will come upon Paris. Go inside, and pass through the casino floor and stop at the French restaurants right past the hotel lobby.

You will see the amazing breakfast buffet place “Le Village” and the small “Le Creperie” where you can get French crepes for both breakfast and lunch. In addition, I love getting a piece of Napoleon cake at Café Belle Madeleine paired with a good cup of coffee. Simply yummy!

Important note: Even through summer 2022, the Paris breakfast buffet is closed. I am not sure if they will ever open it again after the pandemic.

As you come out of Paris resort, you can look around and admire the fake iconic tourist attractions from Paris, France: the Eiffel Tower, the Arch of Triumph and the Music Academy buildings.

The Eiffel Tower at Paris Resort has a really cool viewing deck with beautiful views all around the Vegas strip. Fake again, but cool nonetheless.
See the Strip from Eiffel Tower. Crowds can be large, but you can buy Skip-the-Line tickets to the Paris  Eiffel Tower viewing deck and avoid the lines.
As you come out of Paris resort, keep walking South back towards MGM Grand.

10. Miracle Mile Shops

The lights on the Las Vegas Strip are the main attraction at night
See my photos from Las Vegas Strip

On your way back toward MGM Grand. You will pass by the older Planet Hollywood resort and you can go inside the Miracle Mile area for some great shopping and restaurants which are a bit more affordable. While there is nothing super exciting about Miracle Mile, this shopping mall is a clean and modern. It is a loop, about a mile long (that’s why it’s called Miracle Mile), which has several exits back to the Strip. Then, as you come out, keep walking South and just take in all the lights and all the people walking.
Enjoy the V – Ultimate Variety Show. Right inside the Miracle Mile Shops, the V Variety Show is a great family friendly entertainment show. With acrobatics, music and comedy, the V – Ultimate Variety Show is a affordable show that our entire family enjoyed.

Plan Your Trip to the Las Vegas Strip

Stay in Vegas. In order to enjoy the Las Vegas Strip for first timers especially, you have to stay close to the strip. When we visit Las Vegas we usually stay at the Polo Towers right next to the strip. Their apartment rooms are a great value, especially for families. For even more affordable places you can search budget hotels in Vegas. With over 6000 properties you can find something for you. Just beware of the fine print because the price quoted might not include the nightly resort fee.

Rent a car in Vegas. Get a budget rental car, especially if you have extra time for enjoying a few beautiful day trips from Vegas. Driving to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and even Zion National Park can be an amazing experience.

Is it Worth Walking the Las Vegas Strip for First Timers?

I think walking the Strip is the best introduction to Las Vegas for first timers. My walking tour of the Las Vegas Strip for first timers provides also the best way to get an overview of this famous area. It contains highlights of all the major resorts on the strip, as well as a few details that will make this walking tour very enjoyable, especially if you have never been to Vegas before.
Yes, it will take you around 5 hours to complete, but you will get a good understanding about what all these resorts offer for attracting all these tourists that flock to the entertainment capital of the world, as Las Vegas likes to call itself.

Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour

If all your activity is limited to the Vegas Strip, then taking a good, long walk down Las Vegas’ Strip is ideal. Just walking down the famous Las Vegas Strip is an experience in itself and this is probably the best way to take in the architecture of the city. There is a lot to see and do. Remember, however, that the Strip is a little over 4 miles long, so plan accordingly.

The one thing you must bring on a Las Vegas Strip walking tour is the most comfortable pair of shoes you have. Make that two pairs! You are going to do more walking than you can even imagine. Shoes that are too high or tight will end your walk much sooner than you had planned.

Make regular stops. Rest whenever you can to avoid getting tired quickly, maybe get refreshments at shops along the way. Besides the mega resorts along the strip, there are a few Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy and McDonald’s along the way. After each stop, you will be able to continue with a fresh burst of energy.

Take some water with you to avoid dehydration. Take as much as you can carry comfortably and plan to buy more along the way if you run out.

In the extremely hot Summer months, spend as little time outside as possible. You may actually want to reconsider walking during those months. Las Vegas is in a desert after all, and the temperature is usually in the hundreds.

Remember to take a light sweater or jacket with you, even if it’s sweltering hot outside. It may seem nice at first when you come in from the heat, but the casinos are kept at a temperature between 76 – 78 degrees. Not good, if you happen to be wearing a tank top and shorts.

Cross the street at designated spots or use the pedestrian overpass. (check below for a list of overpass locations) Do not jaywalk. You will be hit with a heavy fine if you’re caught. As of September 2013, the fine for Jaywalking in Las Vegas was $198.00

Besides getting fined, you don’t become a statistic. Las Vegas Valley was ranked as the sixth most dangerous metropolitan area when it comes to auto-pedestrian fatalities. Traffic on The Vegas Strip is notoriously dangerous. A combination of high speeding cars, wide roads, reckless pedestrians and distracted drivers account for the high fatality rate. Only cross the Vegas Strip at designated crosswalks or over-head walkways.

Las Vegas police allow people to walk down the Strip and the Fremont Street Experience with alcoholic beverages in plastic containers (no bottles or cans). Remember, however, that this is not allowed anywhere else in the city.

Check the weather and take a map of the Strip with you so you can plan your stops. Check out the list of free attractions too. Don’t miss anything!

Vegas Strip Pedestrian Bridges

There are several four-corner and direct Pedestrian overhead bridges over Las Vegas Blvd. (The Strip) separating pedestrians from motorized traffic. These overhead walkways can be accessed via elevators or escalators. Below is a list of the Las Vegas Strip overhead pedestrian walkways and the hotel casinos located within each overpass.

1. Location: Corner of Las Vegas Blvd (the Strip) and Tropicana Ave. This four-corner overhead walkway connects the blocks where the MGM Grand, Tropicana, Excalibur and New York-New York are located.

2. Location: Corner of Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Blvd. This four-corner overhead walkway connects the blocks where Bally’s, Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Flamingo (next to The Cromwell) are located.

3. Location: Corner of Spring Mountain Road and Las Vegas Blvd. This four-corner overhead walkway connects the corners where Treasure Island, the Fashion Show Las Vegas, The Venetian and Wynn are located.

4. Location: Planet Hollywood. There is a direct-connect Pedestrian bridge from the front of Planet Hollywood to CityCenter with access to ARIA, The Cosmopolitan and Crystals shopping center.

5. Location: Park MGM (and T-Mobile Arena). There is a direct Pedestrian bridge connecting Park MGM and the Showcase Mall / Hard Rock Cafe.

6. Location: Veer Towers. There is a walkway connecting Veer Towers, Crystals shopping center and Waldorf Astoria.

7. Location: Bellagio to Bally’s Pedestrian walkway

8. Location: Bellagio to Caesar’s Palace Pedestrian walkway

9. Location: Treasure Island to The Venetian Pedestrian walkway

Free Things to Do in Las Vegas for Fun Right Now

Bellagio Las Vegas

Save your money for the slot machines or cocktails at Martha Stewart’s new restaurant. A dollar doesn’t stretch nearly as far as it used to in Las Vegas, especially in an era of high inflation. Cheap buffets and complimentary casino drinks are few and far between these days, but you can still find the occasional value. After all, some restaurants on the Strip are less expensive than others. Yet there’s one price that everyone loves: free. And in a town known for excess, there are lots of attractions and activities that don’t cost a dime. So check ’em all out below.

Topgolf | Photo by Michael Baxter, courtesy of Baxter Imaging

You don’t have to splurge on bottle service at a dayclub or even be a hotel guest to take a dip in a Strip swimming pool. The Topgolf driving range has a 21-and-over Hideaway Pool of its own—a well-kept secret that’s usually not too busy, especially on weekdays. The money saved can go toward a cabana rental (reasonable for Strip rates) or a soft pretzel charcuterie board from the food and drink menu.

The Pinball Hall of Fame is one of the museums that make Las Vegas wonderfully weird. It moved into a new, larger Strip location in 2021 and now houses vintage pinball machines (and the occasional arcade game) in an expansive 25,000-square-foot space. It’s the largest collection of its kind in the world, drawing heavily on the ’60, ’70s, and ’80s classic eras of pinball. Admission is free, but every machine can be played for 25 or 50 cents. And since the museum is a nonprofit, every coin collected goes directly to charity.

Photo courtesy of Forum Shops at Caesars

The “Fall of Atlantis” is an animatronic show that plays on the hour from noon to 8 pm (Friday–Tuesday) at the Forum Shops at Caesars. The quality falls somewhere between what you’d find at Chuck E. Cheese and Disney’s Hall of Presidents, but the combination of flames, fountains, and a giant winged dragon are enough to liven up any shopping trip.

Tickets to see a Golden Knights game at the T-Mobile Arena aren’t cheap, but here’s the next best thing—you can see the team practice for free at City National Arena in Summerlin. The schedule isn’t highly publicized, but players generally take the ice between 9 am and 11 am. Check the Golden Knights Twitter account for practice announcements. Otherwise, you can splurge a few bucks and take part in an open skate yourself and grab lunch at MacKenzie River Pizza.

The Shelby Heritage Center celebrates the legacy of Carroll Shelby and the race cars he helped design, including the iconic AC Cobra and special-edition Mustangs. Guests are welcome any time during regular hours to take a free self-guided tour (or pay for a guided one) to see more than 30 high-performance muscle cars on display and get an up-close look at the production facility next door.

Silverton Casino

The 117,000-gallon aquarium at the Silverton casino is loaded with thousands of tropical fish as well as a few stingrays and sharks. Interactive mermaid performances run throughout the day Thursday-Sunday. You can also toss a few questions to a marine biologist during regular feedings.

Thrillist TV

Circus Circus Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

Don’t have the money for a Cirque ticket? No problem. Circus Circus has a full schedule of big-top performances at the Midway every hour starting at 11:30 am Friday-Sunday and 1:30 pm Monday-Thursday. Come by and see clowns, jugglers, aerialists, and more. The Flying Poemas, a trapeze act from Argentina, provide the biggest thrills.

The artsy block party known as First Friday takes place, as the name suggests, on the first Friday evening of every month in the Downtown Arts District. Each edition follows a specific theme with featured artists, gallery exhibits, and live music. There’s also a beer garden and at least a dozen food trucks.

It’s a few miles east of the Strip, but locals love Mystic Falls, an indoor park at the Sam’s Town casino with a wild west mountain theme. Walk among the trees and you’ll hear the sounds of birds chirping, wolves howling, and a rolling waterfall underneath a towering atrium. Laser and light shows take place every other hour from 6-10 pm on weekdays and 4-10 pm on weekends.

Photo courtesy of Paris Las Vegas

The 541-foot tall Eiffel Tower replica at the Paris casino is more than just 5,000 tons of twisted steel. The exterior hosts a colorful show of twinkling lights every 30 minutes between dusk and midnight. The timing unofficially coordinates with the Bellagio fountain shows across the street, creating a lively and vibrant visual in the mid-Strip skyline.

So much Las Vegas history is overlooked, but hiding in plain sight. The Pioneer Trail is a self-guided driving tour of 16 historic sites northwest of the Strip, beginning with the Springs Preserve and ending with Biltmore Village. The experience also provides a rare look into the often underrepresented history of Black culture in Las Vegas, including the Harrison Boarding House (where entertainers of color stayed when segregated from Strip hotel rooms) and the site of the short-lived Moulin Rouge, which became the first integrated casino in 1955.

The Hand of Faith, the largest gold nugget currently in existence, weighs 61 pounds and is on display at (appropriately enough) the Golden Nugget in Downtown Las Vegas. You’ll also see a replica of it a hundred miles away in the lobby of the Golden Nugget in Laughlin.

Watch fish swim at one of three aquariums

Check out the 40,000-gallon aquarium at Bass Pro Shops (next to the Silverton), along with a waterfall, trout stream, and fun outdoorsy design. On the Strip, the Forum Shops at Caesars have their own 50,000-gallon aquarium near the Cheesecake Factory and Nike shop. Not to be outdone, the Mirage has a 20,000-gallon tank that’s a little smaller, but makes an even bolder impression as part of the decor in the hotel lobby. No matter which one you visit, expect to be greeted with a wide array of tropical fish.

Take a daytrip to Boulder City, where you can not only visit the Hoover Dam, but learn all about the iconic landmark at the free museum on the first floor of the Boulder Dam Hotel. The Boulder Dam Museum documents the engineering behind the modern marvel as well as the danger and struggles faced by the workers who built it under the hot Nevada sun. And yes, Boulder Dam was the official name before it was changed to honor the president who brought us the Great Depression.

Fremont Street Experience | Photo courtesy of Black Raven Films

The main attraction of Downtown Las Vegas is the Fremont Street Experience, a five-block pedestrian mall surrounded by neon lights and marquees. Most of it sits underneath a 1,400-foot-long canopy outfitted with the world’s largest LED screen. Dubbed Viva Vision, it utilizes more than 16 million pixels for ultra high-def imagery and trippy 3D-like effects. Themed video shows take place throughout the night, usually on the hour. The Fremont Street Experience also hosts Downtown Rocks, a free concert series by national acts throughout summer and fall.

As far as iconic Vegas images go, it’s hard to beat the Fountains of Bellagio. Gather around the massive lake in front of the resort and watch as more than 1,200 nozzles shoot water straight into the air with the help of 4,500 lights. Each show is set to music with songs by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, and Celine Dion providing the soundtrack. Shows are usually every half hour in the afternoon and every 15 minutes at night, but could be cancelled at any time due to high winds.

The Mirage is set to become a Hard Rock hotel in the next year or two, and the property’s famous erupting volcano show is set to be demolished. Don’t pin your hopes on a petition to save the free attraction—go see it while you still can. The elaborate display produces a lava simulation (with fireballs for good measure) set to music created by Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead and Indian musician Zakir Hussain. The finale includes an eruption 60 feet into the air that’s so intense, you’ll feel the heat from inside your taxi on Las Vegas Boulevard. Shows are on the hour between 8 pm and 11 pm nightly.

St. Mark’s Square in the Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes is modeled after the Renaissance era of Venice, complete with passing gondola rides and as much historic architecture as you can manage in a shopping mall. “Streetmosphere” performers provide free entertainment, ranging from live violins to pop-opera vocal theatrics. If you actually want to spend a few bucks and grab a bite to eat, you’ve got a choice of three Italian restaurants: Brera Osteria, Canaletto, and Mercato della Pescheria.

The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is the setting for the Pawn Stars reality show, which runs (virtually nonstop) on the History Channel. Check it out for yourself and browse the unusual and often historic artifacts for sale. Just know there’s often a line to enter and no guarantee you’ll see anyone you recognize from TV.

The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, one of the most photographed places in Vegas, is a free floral exhibit that changes with the season, covering nearly 14,000 square feet underneath a 50-foot-high atrium. The intricate designs, featuring tens of thousands of flowers, are planned a full year in advance. Big spenders can take advantage of the Garden Table, an exclusive dining experience inside the Conservatory, which is one of the coolest things to do in Vegas right now.

The Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Henderson has free self-guided tours, where you watch candy being made from a long viewing window. Stick around and explore the four-acre Botanical Cactus Garden outside. It has more than 300 species of plants and is especially colorful when decorated for the winter holidays or the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Check out the vehicle affectionately known as the “Bonnie and Clyde Death Car” at Whiskey Pete’s just outside Vegas in Primm. The bullet-riddled 1934 Ford Deluxe in which the gangster duo met their demise is proudly on display in the casino. As the signs around it are eager to point out, yes this is the real thing. Whiskey Pete’s also happens to be a welcome bathroom break while driving between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

The lobby of the Wynn Hotel is loaded with trees, plants, and elaborate colorful floral installations that include a 20-foot-tall hot air balloon and a 16-foot-wide carousel. It’s not a destination as much as something to enjoy while on your way to somewhere else.

The four-acre outdoor Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo is a tranquil escape from the chaos of the Strip. The collection of ponds and waterfalls is home to all sorts of exotic creatures, including birds, turtles, koi fish, and at least eight Chilean flamingos.

From the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sands Avenue, you’ll quickly spot a fountain show with lights and music in front of the Wynn. It’s a whole lot smaller than what you’ll see at the Bellagio, but it’s a nice break from trekking down the Strip and the performances run nonstop. The scenery also includes two waterfalls and large pine trees. The Lake of Dreams inside the Wynn is technically free too, but it’s really a bucket-list dining experience best enjoyed with a dinner reservation.

Watch (or avoid) the street performers

Just like Hollywood Boulevard and Times Square, Las Vegas is overrun by street performers, either on the Strip or Fremont Street. Some have talent (like a handful of musicians, dancers, and magicians) while others just stand around in cheap-looking costumes. The entertainment is free to watch, but if you pose for a photo with one of them, a tip is expected.

Rest your feet with a tram ride on the Strip

If that long walk down the Strip gets to be too much, there are three free pedestrian trains to make the journey go by a little easier. One operates between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur, another travels between the Bellagio and Aria, and a third shuttles between Treasure Island and the Mirage. No charge. Just hop on board. Don’t confuse any of these with the Las Vegas Monorail on the east side of the Strip, which begins at $5 per ride.

ARIA Resort & Casino

One of the great things about the CityCenter complex is all the art on display. Wander in and out of galleries by Richard MacDonald and Elena Bulatova before heading over to the Aria where fine art installations are scattered throughout the resort. The neighboring Cosmopolitan has a self-guided art tour of its own, led by Rose, the hotel’s own chatbot concierge. Between oversize shoe sculptures in the lobby, digital pillars in the lobby, and murals in the parking garage, the art often mixes tech and pop culture with an exceptional degree of ingenuity.

CBS Television City at the MGM Grand is a full research facility where you can watch an unaired pilot that’s being considered by the network for an upcoming season. Give your feedback with the fate of future programming in your hands. You can also take part in surveys and focus groups about television, internet, and music streaming habits. You’ll be handed some vouchers and a bag of free stuff at the end. Sometimes you’ll even get paid cash.

You could say it’s a . . . miracle. The sprawling Miracle Mile Shops, which wrap around the Planet Hollywood resort, have an indoor rainstorm with shows every hour during the week and every half hour on weekends. The combination of water, lights, music, and fog is an unexpectedly fun way to break up the monotony of a shopping trip. Try not to get wet.

Photo by Mark Damon, courtesy of Las Vegas News Bureau

If you’re speeding down Interstate 15 south of Vegas and you see seven pillars of stacked rainbow-colored rocks in the middle of the desert, you’re not hallucinating. That’s a 25-foot-tall art installation known as Seven Magic Mountains. So take the next exit and doubleback for a color-filled photo session.

Snap a photo at you-know-where

You may be out of cash, but you still have a phone. So head just beyond the south end of the Strip to the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign and have your photo snapped in front of the iconic landmark. There may be an Elvis impersonator or some dude in a Big Bird costume offering to take the shot on your behalf or even pose with you. But that means handing out a tip and suddenly, it’s not free anymore, is it?

River Mountains Loop Trail

Good for Distance Riders

August, 2022 by iflytb9

I added this into a 60 mile total ride. I started at the 0 mile point and went clockwise. Not a lot of water refill spots which is a big downer. I filled up at a rest stop about 5 miles in, but the majority of the back side loop is waterless. Once you hit the boulder area there are some stores you can stop in if you need water or something. But that’s about it. I started the loop with a regular water bottle mixed with some electros and a 1.5L camel back of water. It was enough, but would have benefited from having more. I went at noon on a hot august day. Brought some cliff bars. It’s a good trail. I did the whole ride on a heavy mountain bike and it was windy. I would have preferred using my road bike, but glad I used the mountain bike because between 9 and 18 miles in, the trail was covered with a lot of rocky gravel and sand patches. That would have been tough and frustrating on a road bike. I even walked thru some heavy deep gravel on the mountain bike. It was covered so much in some areas that I thought I got of the trial somehow. Either way, it slows you down. I think the debris is the result from all the rain washing rocks onto the trail. Hopefully they clean it up soon because it’s a good trail though. Like I said I added it in, so I did 15 miles before I got there and then did the loop. If you’re not a distance rider type, then maybe think about how far you want to go before committing to the half way point. Either way, there’s plenty of ways out if you have an emergency so it’s not like you have to walk 15 miles to get help. Roads are close by. Also, the trail path kind of gets funky in Boulder City. Meaning, there’s a spot where you kind of have to know where you’re going to stay on the trail. It kind of sucks actually, so you might want to look at a map of the trail via the satellite view so you can get an idea where to go once you hit the Boulder City area. Well, those are the notables. I’ll be back at this trail because I like the distance riding without having issues with cars and traffic

Nice Ride In Henderson

May, 2022 by jacmar1

We were in Henderson to get 50 miles in Nevada on our quest to bike 50 miles in every state.THis was number 45 for us and we were excited to find the Union Pacific Trail. We were staying in the Black Mountain area and could ride to the Greenway entrance from the house. The trail surface is quite smooth and there a few road crossings that are well done with devices to warn cars of your crossing. Views of the surrounding mountains can be seen the entire way to the end at Railroad Casino which is approximately 5 miles.Watch those SW winds that prevail in the spring and the low humidity for those not from the area!Little extra effort can be required! The ride back to the western end is not quite as scenic but includes a park and an urban feel.If you are lucky you might just get a glimpse of the infamous Road Runner.

Must Do in Vegas

March, 2022 by acewickwire

We have completed a number of trails, including River Mountain Loop Trail, and this one of the best. Trail surface is nice and wide, mostly smooth. The trail follows the surrounding earth surface with hills, a couple short but steep and winds through the drainages. Twists here and there. Nothing boring about this one. In the summer might consider early morning or early evening…not much for shade. Fair amount of traffic from bikes, hikers, runners, etc. Go do this one!

Las Vegas Parks: 10Best Park Reviews

Get Outside and Visit One of Las Vegas’ 10 Best Parks

Terrisa Meeks

Las Vegas Local Expert

Drive not far from the Strip and a different side of Las Vegas will show itself, one filled with tree-lined streets, parks and a surprising amount of natural beauty. If you’re looking for a Las Vegas park where you can enjoy some time outdoors, there’s no shortage of excellent choices.

At the Springs Preserve, visitors can learn about the history of the region, visit museums, explore botanical gardens and hike on trails. The complex is a showcase of history and nature that the whole family can appreciate. Plan on spending at least half a day here to fully explore the grounds–this is the actual birthplace of Las Vegas, where early Spanish explorers stopped for water.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, located just outside the western edge of the city, is full of natural wonders. The area is full of dramatic sandstone cliffs and rock formations. Hiking, biking and rock climbing are some of the most popular activities in Red Rock, but visitors who don’t want to hit the trail can still enjoy the Scenic Loop from their car.

Wildlife is abundant at many Las Vegas parks. Migratory birds and animals of all kinds can be seen around springs and ponds, especially early in the morning or late in the day. The variety of creatures you might spot may surprise some visitors: bunnies, lizards, bighorn sheep, peacocks and burros, among many others.

The grassy, tree-filled Floyd Lamb Park offers a great respite from the desert. Several ponds in the park support a wealth of plant and animal life, including an abundance of birds. Fishing in the stocked ponds is allowed (with a license), although no swimming or wading. The grounds are full of critters, including peacocks, geese and ducks— who are used to people feeding them. Be careful if you have small children because the large birds can be persistent. Paths and picnic tables make the park an attractive choice for a day of walking, picnicking or watching wildlife. Horseback rides are also offered at an equestrian center on the grounds, although an appointment is required. Also within the park’s boundaries is the historic Tule Springs Ranch, whose remaining buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Recommended for Parks because: Once a divorce resort in a prior era, Floyd Lamb Park today is a verdant park with historic buildings, ponds and miles of trails.

Terrisa’s expert tip: One of the entrance points into the new Tule Springs National Monument is a short drive from Floyd Lamb Park. Continue north on Durango past the park to where the road ends at Moccasin, and you’ll see the badlands of the Monument.

Located just down the road from Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area on Highway 159, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a small oasis in the dry Mojave Desert. Natural springs have attracted people from the early Native Americans through more modern times when pioneers and ranchers settled here. Historic buildings, some dating to the 1860s, are located throughout the ranch’s acreage. Grassy meadows, trees from a former orchard, and hiking trails surround the main ranch house. Picnic areas offer visitors a place to enjoy lunch. The dramatic Wilson Cliffs offer a backdrop of vertical sandstone. A red one-story ranch house is the centerpiece of the park, and it has a history of famous owners, including Howard Hughes and Vera Krupp. The interior has been preserved, and also acts as a visitor center. Guided tours are available, and docents are on hand to answer questions.

Recommended for Parks because: The historic grounds at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park are a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic or a hike.

Terrisa’s expert tip: The small town of Blue Diamond is few miles down the road from Spring Mountain Ranch, and it recently opened a new cafe, Cottonwood Station, where you can stop for coffee, a drink or a meal.

Located in the heart of Summerlin–an area that’s home to many parks–the Gardens Park is in a great central location for the area and offers plenty of amenities for a picnic or family outing. The park has picnic areas, open fields, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, tennis courts and even a bocce court. If you didn’t bring your lunch, don’t worry. Nearby you’ll find all kinds of restaurants and even grocery stores, as well as a convenience store within easy walking distance of the park. This area of Summerlin is filled with an abundance of parks, but Gardens Park is one of the easiest to access from major cross-streets, plus it offers lots of opportunities for family-friendly activities.

Recommended for Parks because: The well-maintained Gardens Park in Summerlin is filled with trees, sports courts, open places to play and picnic tables.

Terrisa’s expert tip: On Tuesdays during summer, Gardens Park hosts the Las Vegas Farmers Market from 4 to 8 p.m. Local and regional vendors sell vegetables, fruits and food, plus entertainment is frequently offered.

Located between Las Vegas and Lake Mead about one mile east of Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, Clark County Wetlands Park is a 2,900-acre oasis in the Mojave Desert. Reclaimed water from the urban area of Las Vegas flows through the park, allowing a permanent wetlands plant community to thrive. The park is also home to 212 species of birds, including snowy egrets, burrowing owls, wood ducks and great blue herons with wingspans of 6-and-a-half feet, as well as more than 70 species of mammals and reptiles. In addition to its impressive wildlife, the park boasts 13 miles of hiking trails, including six miles within its Nature Preserve. The 210-acre Nature Preserve is the centerpiece of the park, featuring wildlife viewing blinds, educational signage and a flagstone outdoor amphitheater that is ADA accessible.

Recommended for Parks because: The watery habitat at the Clark County Wetlands Park gives visitors a chance to see the desert in a whole new way.

Terrisa’s expert tip: Picnic areas are available at various areas throughout the park, including the Indoor Picnic Cafe. Here visitors can enjoy both a picnic and the comforts of climate control.

Located just three miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip, the Springs Preserve is an award-winning 180-acre family destination dedicated to exploring green-living, desert life and Las Vegas’ vibrant history through botanical gardens, interactive science and nature exhibits, animal shows and trails. The Springs offers 110 acres of display gardens, natural gardens, wildlife habitat, walking and biking trails and educational resources. Their Botanical Gardens feature more than 1,200 species of native and desert-adapted plants housed in several themed areas. Indoor experiences include exhibition galleries dedicated to showcasing art and traveling exhibitions of local and national significance, Origen Museum and the Nevada State Museum.

Recommended for Parks because: The expansive Springs Preserve has museums, a botanical garden and butterfly habitat plus over three miles of trails.

Terrisa’s expert tip: The Springs Preserve is one of Las Vegas’ most family-friendly attractions, and the hands-on Origen Museum is especially fun for kids. Don’t miss the flash flood exhibit–it’s a rare opportunity to see this natural phenomenon recreated.

The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Better known to locals as Mount Charleston, it’s just 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas and encompasses more than 316,000 acres of remarkable beauty and surprising diversity. During the winter months, skiing is a top draw; when the weather warms, hiking trails become incredibly popular. Camping and picnicking are also prominent, and folks have been known to encounter wild horses and elk when they’re taking advantage of the terrain’s natural beauty. The area is actually home to more than 50 sensitive plants and animals, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. Other activities include horseback riding, mountain biking and rock climbing.

Recommended for Parks because: The mountain oasis of Mount Charleston is a cool alternative to Las Vegas, offering snow play in winter and a cool mountain retreat in summer.

Terrisa’s expert tip: Be sure to stop in at the new Spring Mountains Visitor Center in Kyle Canyon. The 128-acre complex was built on a failed golf course and now offers trails, exhibits and a center that details the history of the area.

The crown jewel of Clark County’s park system, Sunset Park has served the Las Vegas valley since 1967. Phased park expansions have developed 185 of the 323 total acres, making Sunset the largest and the most distinguished park in town. An oasis in the desert, it offers something for everyone including tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, softball fields, a disc golf course, dog park, playground, shaded picnic areas, lake–fish included–and plenty of open space. The most recent expansion includes the addition of walking trails meandering through natural mesquite and dunes areas. The park contains the last remaining natural dunes that once dominated the southern end of the Las Vegas valley. Sunset Park also hosts many special events open to the public, including the annual Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival.

Recommended for Parks because: Playgrounds, picnic areas, walking trails, Frisbee golf, a dog park, fishing–the large Sunset Park has something for everyone.

Terrisa’s expert tip: Fishing is allowed at Sunset Park with a fishing license. The park’s website offers links to the Nevada Department of Wildlife, which sells licenses; a one-day non-resident license is $19.

Located four miles southeast of Boulder City, Lake Mead National Recreation Park Area provides relaxation and fun year-round. With 1.5 million acres, it’s twice the size of Rhode Island and is America’s largest man-made reservoir. Interestingly, three of America’s four desert ecosystems–the Mojave, the Great Basin and the Sonoran deserts–are all connected by Lake Mead. With 50 miles of shoreline, the park offers multiple marinas, boating, fishing and water sports. It also caters to hikers, climbers, campers and car tours. Lakeshore Road and Northshore Road will take you around a large portion of the lake and both roads have multiple access points to the lake, although lowering water levels have closed or moved some places. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as the area is home to thousands of desert plants and animals.

Recommended for Parks because: Lake Mead National Recreation Area provides an abundance of outdoor activities, including boating, hiking, fishing and camping.

Terrisa’s expert tip: A favorite local activity at any of the Lake Mead marinas is feeding the fish. Bring your own popcorn or buy some at the marina store, then toss some popcorn in the water to watch the very well-fed fish at Lake Mead (mostly carp) go a little crazy.

This grand geological park, located 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas, is Nevada’s oldest state park. Its brilliantly colored sandstone formations were generated from 150 million years of weathering in the Mojave Desert. In fact, the park’s name comes from the vibrant appearance of sunlight on the red rocks. Evidence of ancient trees and early man are found throughout the park in areas of petrified wood and 3,000-year-old Native American petroglyphs. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. A visitor center acquaints folks to the on-site attractions. Seventy-two campsites are available for an additional fee (first-come, first served) and come equipped with shaded tables, grills, water and restrooms.

Recommended for Parks because: Valley of Fire State Park is filled with spectacular, intensely colored rock formations, ancient art and wildlife.

Terrisa’s expert tip: The St. Thomas ghost town is just outside of the Valley of Fire off Northshore Road. Once covered by Lake Mead, the receding waters exposed the town’s ruins in the early 2000s.

Part of the Mojave Desert, Red Rock Canyon is an easy escape from the fast pace of the Glitter City, located just 17 miles from downtown Vegas. The area showcases spectacular scenery, complete with rugged red rock formations, desert vegetation and open vistas. The visitor center can help you orient yourself to the landscape, and a gift shop and exhibits are available. While many folks opt to bike, hike or rock-climb, others make the most of the 13-mile scenic loop, which lets you drive a picturesque circuit and offers stop-offs for photography. Still, others prefer to travel via horseback or simply enjoy a picnic at one of the picnic areas.

Recommended for Parks because: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is the home of majestic multi-colored cliffs, hidden springs and miles of hiking trails.

Terrisa’s expert tip: The Red Rock Scenic Loop has become such a popular place to visit that the lines to get in can stretch far down the highway, and once the area reaches capacity it’s closed. If the weather is temperate, be sure to arrive early in the day to ensure you can drive the Loop.

The museum has collected a lot of detailed material about American crime over the past 100 years, including the political, sports, cinema, international and everything else. There is also about us, but so, in passing. Everything is done in the classic style of the film “Only Girls in Jazz” – bandits in velor hats and wide jackets, a lot of documents, numbers and film materials, there is an electric chair with a switch – you sit down, turn it on and the light starts flashing, very impressive. There is a souvenir shop and even a retro-style cafe for a complete immersion in the criminal atmosphere. In a word, interesting, but for our tourist a little naive. In the sense that for such a museum at home, a building of a much more impressive size would be needed.

              Playing a little drunk
We got used to playing on stage.
But the halves of us then scold,
They do not believe in this change in life.

It seems to them that all this is for contrast,
That in life we are always like glass.
To lie, my friend, I see you are much,
At least count, ashamed, your years.

We learned to separate life and stage,
Playing someone else’s role each time.
But only the scenery has changed,
So let me skip the check.

Yes, if we have at least a couple of green ones,
We use them to make our way to the bar in the fall.
It is easy to play for drinks for us lovers,
But we keep a sense of duty to drink.

Take at least an example now from the revelers,
Ogarochek is always for his happiness.
There is little left in him from the bully,
Having believed in the holy in communion.

Wait, friend, don’t pester the guests,
They want to watch us and the show.
We sail among them, as if on the seas.
Are you stormy? You say “soberly”: “No”.

Oh, what a short muse for a poet,
I silently asked you with my eyes.
We, the society of guardians and light,
              Applauded watched as we hall.

And yet, this is only self-conceit,
An amusing number passed by the artist.
              The girl cheered everyone up,..
Send the bouquet to the pianist as soon as possible…

…I’ll say: “What do you want?”, – wondering,
In his mind, it seems, a thunderstorm.
              Without pretending to the faithful:
“Today,” he said, “not in one eye.”

            • Distance from Las Vegas: 190 km
            • Travel time: 2 hours

Rhyolite (Rhyolite) is an abandoned city in Nevada northwest of Vegas. Such cities are called ghost towns. Once they had their meaning, and then they were empty and now they stand as a reminder of the past. Rhyolite was built at the beginning of the 20th century, during the Gold Rush, as a town of miners working underground to extract the rhyolite rock. The city even has an abandoned station that served the railroad to Las Vegas.

            Ghost town Rhyolite

Rhyolite’s fame was short-lived. As soon as the main deposit was depleted, people left the city. Another indirect reason why Rhyolite was empty was the San Francisco earthquake and the financial panic that followed.

Now tourists can come and walk among the ruins of the town. By the way, the movie “The Island” with Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson was filmed here.

Recommendation: a visit to the city of Rhyolite is best combined with a trip to Valley C dead.

We are in the Grand Canyon

Theoretically, you can drive the car to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas in one day, leaving early in the morning and returning late in the evening and driving a car for 9-10 hours, and at the edge of the canyon just two or three hours. But is it worth it? It is much better to come here in the afternoon, walk around, meet the sunset, enjoying the impressive changing colors of the canyon during the day. It is better to spend the night in the park itself or nearby. And in the morning, arrive at dawn and walk along several hiking trails, and only then return to Vegas.

The park offers visitors a wide range of hiking trails to choose from along Zion Canyon, an impressive 600-meter-high multicolored sandstone cliff. The Virgin River created the canyon, and wind, rain, and snow completed the job.

From April to November, you can only ride in the park by shuttle, which stops at all important places. The rest of the time it is allowed on a personal car. From the parking lots located near the shuttle stops, short trails begin to the main hiking route through the entire canyon, 26 km long. 5 Bryce National Park (Bryce National Park) is unlike any other US park. Located at an altitude of 2400-2700 meters in Southern Utah northeast of Sin City, it offers unforgettable views of the finest and most graceful spiers, hoods and arches of bright red, gold and white. All this is combined in an unearthly ensemble, sometimes turning into entire amphitheaters. Nature has done a great job here! Especially beautiful stone patterns look framed by a green forest and blue sky. It is especially chic to see Bryce in winter, when the red stone castles are covered with snow.

A scenic 30 km long road with observation decks and trails runs through the park. Sunrise is best seen at Sunrise Point and Sunset Point, as they both face east. In summer, you can ride a shuttle through the park, which stops at each of the observation decks.

The bright and colorful neon signs of Las Vegas have been one of the city’s most memorable attractions for countless visitors over the years. These multi-story advertising beacons became one of the city’s claims to fame. Today, the Neon Museum is working hard to preserve some of the city’s history by purchasing, preserving, and in some cases restoring historic neon signs that have faded into the past as businesses have faded or new signs have been introduced to replace the old ones.

You can see many of these signs by taking a tour of the Neon Museum, where old neon signs are stored outside in a large complex. The guides provide a history of the signs and designs that have evolved over the years. Efforts at the museum are ongoing and the signs are in varying conditions. In some cases, only a portion has been preserved or found, while others have been restored to their former glory. This contrast makes the museum much more interesting and gives visitors an idea of how much work and upkeep is required with these giant signs.

Caesars Palace, also with a great location along The Strip, is a longtime Vegas classic and is home to the famous Colosseum entertainment center. All of these resorts have great pools, on-site shopping and entertainment.

The most interesting places in Las Vegas.

City-fairytale, a city that offers just an unreal amount of entertainment, and simply wonderful places for tourist visits. Enchanting shows, exciting extreme entertainment, the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon, the Valley of Death and the Valley of Fire, all this gives you an incredible Las Vegas. But many tourists are wondering how ordinary people can live here, because everything is very expensive in the holiday city? Unfortunately, the question remains unanswered, because we are tourists and travelers who just love to relax! So, let’s start with those places that you can visit without the participation of guides and paid expensive excursions, but simply on your own, at minimal cost.

Death Valley National Park. Despite the fact that the park valley is the most unique place on the territory of Nevada, a fairly large number of tourists and travelers simply ignore hiking in the national park. Death Valley covers an area of about 14 thousand square kilometers, and is considered the hottest point in the Western Hemisphere. In addition, it is also the lowest point, which is often called a hot frying pan, because the valley heats up to 50 degrees Celsius.

The area is surrounded by mountains, so there are a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as some species of mammals that have managed to adapt to such hot climatic conditions.

Tourists have an amazing opportunity to visit this place, see all its bizarre animals, as well as unique plant species, most of which are considered endemic, and are found only here. You can see how the Indians of the Timbisha tribe live, because they not only managed to survive in such a heat, but also grow vegetables and livestock, which is simply amazing. Do you want to see living stones that can move along the bottom of a dried-up lake? Then this place is exactly for you.

The national park is also a very mysterious place, because on its territory there are even ghost towns that are extinct after the gold rush.

            Admission: $20.

Opening hours: from 8:00 to 17:00.

Hoover Dam. This is a truly amazing, very large-scale structure, 221 meters high. The Hoover Dam is located on the California-Nevada border. Initially, the project was planned to be called the Boulder Dam, but after the dam became a crossing over the Black Canyon, it was called the Hoover Dam, in honor of the current president at that time. It was after this that the Americans began to call almost all large objects by the names of the presidents acting at the time of construction.

Moreover, initially it was planned to build a conventional dam here, which would produce electricity. But contemporaries insisted that the dam be built in a beautiful art deco style. Thus, today we see clock towers here, tourists and excursion groups can visit the dam, and an industrial museum is also open here.

            Admission fee: free of charge.

Address: 1305 Arizona Street Boulder City.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 18:00.

Vintage Car Museum. The museum is located in one of the many casinos in Las Vegas, namely the Imperial Palace Casino. This is just a paradise for fans of these vintage cars, because they are really very rare and vintage, and here they are collected in one place. The museum’s collection includes about 250 unique rare cars that tourists can admire.

There’s Hitler’s Mercedes, Jana Kennedy’s Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe’s Cadillac. As well as truly unique cars, such as the Packard, which belonged to the Japanese emperor Hirohito (1935), as well as Rolls-Royce, which flaunted Tsar Nicholas II (the release of the car dates back to 1914).

Cost of admission: adults – about $ 9, children and seniors – 5.

Address: 3535 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Working hours: seven days a week, from 10:00 to 18:00.

Ethel M Chocolates: chocolate factory and cactus garden. A very original place to visit, because it is not at all clear how Americans combine a walk through chocolate factories and places where cacti grow. But let’s see what’s on offer.

The founder of the factory is Forrest Mars Sr., who named the factory after his mother. the factory itself opened its doors in 1981, where to this day everyone’s favorite chocolate bars around the world, Snickers and Milky Way, are produced.

This place is very popular among tourists and travelers, because you can not only see how the famous bars are made, but also buy your own delicacies and try sweet products.

But just next to the production of sweets is a cactus garden, which covers an area of about a hectare of land.

Here you can admire the view of more than 300 species of cacti that grow in the American deserts, as well as in Australia and the territories of the South American continent.

Address: 2 Cactus Garden Drive, Henderson.

            Admission fee: free of charge.

Opening hours: Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 to 16:30.

Museum of Erotic Heritage. Surprisingly enough, but it is in Las Vegas that there is a similar museum. Another more interesting fact is that the creator of the museum is a priest who was sent by the church to work with homosexuals in order to guide them on the right path. While working with people of non-traditional sexual orientation, the priest realized how important it is to engage in educational activities. Of course, he failed to convince gays to become heterosexuals, but the idea of creating a museum came to mind. The priest himself, his entire family, as well as professionals in the porn field worked on its creation.

The walls of the museum are covered with photographs and posters of erotic content, as well as posters from Playboy magazine. The exhibits are sculptures, paintings, toys of a similar theme, which also contribute to raising the morale of American soldiers.

There are also separate exhibitions dedicated to various topics, such as toilet humor. When each visitor can contribute to the museum exposition.

Address: The Erotic Heritage Museum, 3275 Industrial Road.
