Playa de las Américas, the most famous beach in Tenerife

Playa de las Américas has the great merit of pleasing visitors of every kind. This strip of golden sand lapped by crystal-clear waters is located in southern Tenerife between the municipalities of Adeje and Arona, although it mainly belongs to the former. The whole area is known by the same name and is one of the most important tourism hubs on the island, lying next to famous holiday destinations such as Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. Tenerife in the Canary Islands has endless year-round tourist activities to tempt you and some of its best features are its wonderful temperatures (meaning the beaches can be enjoyed at any time of the year), lush nature, great food and excellent hotel infrastructure.

What is Playa de las Américas like?

The Playa de las Américas tourism hub has four artificial beaches for visitors to enjoy that were created using golden sand shipped in straight from the Sahara Desert in Africa. Together these beaches are known as the Playas de las Américas and they stretch out for over a kilometre. Each has its own name: Tierra Negra, El Bobo, Las Américas and Troya. However, they’re not identical. The Las Américas beach stands out for its size as it’s almost 500 metres long and 60 metres wide.

One of the features that tourists most appreciate when they visit this coastline are the services on offer. There’s no need to bring a beach umbrella or sun lounger with you because you can hire them on the beach, and you’ll also find showers, shops and plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants. Further services on the beach include access for people with disabilities, a lifeguard service and children’s play areas.

Playa de las Américas with the family

Playa de las Américas

If you’re travelling to Tenerife with children, the Playa de las Américas area has everything you could need for the holiday that has it all. You’ll find numerous hotels and apartments, shops selling anything you might need and terraces where you can put your feet up and enjoy a delicious ice cream. The beach, always the best children’s playground, has been adapted to enable access for people with disabilities and has lifeguards to assist you if necessary.

The Costa Adeje coastline boasts up to 14 beaches and the sand on each has a different texture and colour so you can try something new every day. The water temperature is around 24 degrees all year round making it perfect for family holidays.

Another great idea is spending a day at Siam Park, about 5 minutes from Playa de las Américas. It’s considered to be one of the best water parks in the world and the numerous rides are set in a theme park inspired by Thai culture—it does an excellent job of recreating temples and other Asian constructions.

Partying and fun

The ocean is the star attraction of Playa de las Américas during the day, but when the sun goes down relaxing promenades become a backdrop to wild dancing. During the night, the spotlight turns on an area known as Las Verónicas where nightclubs, cabarets and bars with live music shows are the big draw. Tourists staying in other areas of the island head here for a night out so there are a huge number of different leisure options of this type on offer. It’s clear that the daytime and evening vibes are completely different. If you love being in the thick of things and don’t want to drive a car during your holidays, this area is definitely the place for you to stay.

Leisure: water sports and golf

Holidays are usually a time for resting and also doing some sports. If you’re the sort of person who likes to make the most of your trip by getting in touch with nature, Playa de las Américas has a wide range of water sports for you to enjoy, including some that will get the adrenaline pumping such as water skiing and windsurfing. If you know how to scuba dive then you’ll have fun exploring Tenerife’s ocean floor. And if you’ve never tried this sport, you have the chance to dive for the first time here, as there are lots of diving schools in Costa Adeje.

Tenerife is also a privileged location for whale watching, so get ready to spot pilot whales, dolphins and other mammals who live in these safe waters. Experts often describe this environment as the best aquarium in the world because it’s almost impossible to take a boat trip without spotting some cetaceans.

If you’re travelling with the family, let yourself be tempted onto a pirate ship excursion or book a seat on a yellow submarine—experiences you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Golf fans don’t have to travel far. Golf Las Américas is an 18-hole golf course dotted with lakes, offering spectacular views and fantastic greens. Another course that will interest golfers is Golf del Sur in San Miguel de Abona, where you can also check if your technique is up to speed.

Costa Adeje: a wealth of tourist attractions

Costa Adeje, where the Playa de las Américas tourism hub is mainly located, is part of Adeje, which is the sixth largest municipality on the island and has an inland town centre. Just a few decades ago it would have been hard to imagine that the historic town of Adeje, with monuments such as the Fort House and Saint Ursula Church, would have been eclipsed by its coastline. However, today Costa Adeje is one of Tenerife’s biggest successes in terms of hotel infrastructure and tourist services.

While it’s highly tempting to spend your days lying on the beach and enjoying the long nights, we’re going to recommend discovering the area’s impressive nature. Don’t miss spectacular settings such as the Barranco del Infierno—a Special Nature Reserve and the start of a 6-km (round trip) hiking route with incredible views—and the Caldera del Rey.

Finally, after your intense days of holiday fun around Playa de las Américas, set aside some time for a relaxing afternoon by the ocean and wait patiently for the sun to go down because this area boasts some of the most stunning sunsets on the island.

Beaches at Playa de las Americas

Playa de Troya

The main beach in Playa de las Americas is Playa de Troya, which is a man made beach of fine white sand. Swimming in the sea is enjoyable for everyone here, due to the protected nature of the beach.  The beach is in a bay and the sea is clear and calm.

There are lots of sunbeds and parasols for hire and there are shower and toilet facilities by the beach.  You may need to get there early in peak season if you want to hire a sunbed as it can get busy.

If you enjoy water sports and activities you will have plenty to choose from at Playa de Troya.  The beach also has life guards on duty. For something to eat or drink, there is a wide variety of places to choose from nearby the beach. Playa de Troya is a great place to sit with a cocktail and watch the sunset!

Playa de Guincho

Close to Playa de Troya, Playa de Guincho is the perfect place for windsurfers, surfers and those who enjoy water sports. If you like to sunbathe then nearby Playa de Troya would be your preferred option, as the beach at Playa de Guincho is quite rocky. Playa de Guincho is a smaller beach but a better choice if you prefer an active day on the beach to sunbathing.

What to Do in Playa de las Americas

Apart from the nightlife, there are numerous options for days out and entertainment to enjoy in and around Playa de las Americas.

Boat trips

There are many different choices for boat trips from Playa de las Americas. Why not take a half day or full day trip and discover some of the hidden beauty spots away from the main resorts?

For a special occasion you can book your own private charter and sit back and enjoy the scenery.  From secluded, hard to reach places you can go swimming and snorkelling.  Lunch is provided on board and champagne too!

Dolphin and Whale watching

You can also choose a trip to go dolphin and whale watching, and maybe even some turtles. Boat trips make a brilliant day out for the whole family and an experience that everyone will enjoy.

Diving

Tenerife has some of the best scuba diving in Europe so why not give it a go. So, whether you are new to diving or an experienced diver, why not book a session with one of the diving centers? You can book a dive as a group or individually, to cater for your needs.  If you want to learn how to dive then there are courses you can take during your stay on the island.

Bike tours

One of the best ways to see the island is to go on one of the many bike tours that are available. Whether you are a beginner, prefer road bikes or mountain bikes, you can find a tour to suit you. If you can’t be away from home without your bike, you can also rent a bike and keep up with your training.

Siam Park

Only 5 minutes away from Playa de las Americas is the largest water park in Tenerife. Siam Park opened in 2008 and new water rides have been added since its opening.  For the adrenalin junkie you need to try The Tower of Power.  You will drop 28 meters from the top!

If water rides aren’t for you, then a relaxing trip along the Lazy River is a more sedate way to see the park.  Both the swimmer and the non swimmer will enjoy a day out at Siam Park. You can stay for the whole day as there are places to relax and sunbathe and eat and drink.

Shopping in Playa de las Americas

There are lots of shops selling everything you need in Playa de las Americas. If you are looking for something to take home with you, you will find plenty of shops selling the usual holiday souvenirs.

The Golden Mile shopping centre is a lovely area to walk around whilst doing some retail therapy.  There is a plentiful selection of shops and restaurants.  It is an area purely for pedestrians, making it a pleasant place to wander and people watch.

By taxi: You can’t miss Tenerife’s white taxis, which are all metered. If you’re planning to go exploring then talk to your taxi driver and set a fixed price before you set off.

By car hire: Pick up a hire car from the airport or outlets in the main towns and go on your own adventure. It’s a good tip to hire a 4×4 as some of the smaller roads inland can be a bit ‘rural’!

By bus: Hop on one of the bright green buses nicknamed “guaguas” that zoom around Tenerife. They’re a cheap and cheerful alternative to taxis.

By tram: Travel in style on board one of the sleek, modern trams that ferry tourists between Santa Cruz in the south and La Laguna in the north.

Events in Playa de las Americas

Dazzling costumes: Leave the clouds and the drizzle behind and join the fiesta in February and March when it’s carnival time. Get your dancing shoes on and party all night, when the island comes alive with dazzling costumes and joyful music that you won’t be able to resist! It’s time to take to the streets and party hard with the locals.

Colourful parades: Just a few weeks later, it’s time for the big Easter celebrations, with more processions and colourful parades as everyone gets into the festive spirit.

Dance party: The Arona Summer Festival raises the temperature even higher in August when international live acts and DJs turn the Olympic Stadium into one huge dance party.

Playa de las Americas weather

Temperature: Usually in the 30s (°C)

Summers are hot and dry, with the thermometer hitting the low 30s almost every day. However, an onshore breeze takes the bite out of the heat, making it tolerable even on the hottest days. If you prefer things a little cooler then the best time to plan a Playa De Las Americas holiday is in the spring or autumn, when the mercury drops back down to a more temperate early to mid-20s (°C). Keep an eye on the forecast if you plan to come in November, as this is when you may catch the occasional (if very short-lived) downpour.

Playa de las Américas Tenerife

Life is a party, they say. And, when in Playa de las Américas, southwest of the municipality of Arona, it can’t be more accurate. Not only is it Tenerife’s largest beach resort, but it is also called the island’s nightlife center. With its 24/7 festivities and endless bustle, it has rightfully earned that title.

Playa de las Américas in the Municipality of Arona – ©annajacek

The seaside town is overflowing with fun from its waters, beaches, up to its streets. It isn’t only for the party-hungry though, as it dons a family-friendly cape too. There are plenty of activities and establishments for everyone. Yes, for the little ones, the young, and young at heart. Because party knows no age limit.

Before there Was Golden Sand

Like most beach resorts in the Canaries, Playa de las Américas was once a simple fishing village too. Far from its present grandiose visage, it had a stretch of black volcanic sand that is pebbly in some areas. Even then, it was splendid. It had an untouched appeal that was further beautified by surrounding scenery. That was, of course, before the tourism tsunami hit the whole archipelago.

It was no doubt a vision, but, to launch it as a world-class tourist center, it needed enhancements. When it comes to seaside havens, the first thing that comes to mind is a shore gleaming with fine golden sand. So, in the 1960s, the original playa was overlaid with imported Saharan sand. After the facelift, different establishments cropped up. And, development in this once quaint village turned mega resort hasn’t stopped since.

Tenerife’s biggest tourist paradise has gone through excessive expansion over the years. It now has three districts – the original Playa de las Américas, San Eugenio, and Torviscas. The desert that separated it from the nearby Los Cristianos has also been eaten up by its tremendous ‘growth’. As such, the two giants are now already adjoined.

Why Playa de las Américas Over the Others

Nightlife is synonymous with Playa de las Américas. Not one of the many resorts in the archipelago can compare to its brand of late night entertainments. Even so, the oceanfront wonder is a great family-friendly resort too. Rarely is it called as such, but it has the amenities suitable for every member of the household.

Why Playa de las Américas when there are plenty of others on the island? Here, couples can be loving parents during the day and drinking buddies by nightfall. Guests can also either play by the beach or go plummeting down a slide in the water parks near the town. How about a 5-star dining experience after a game of golf? Or an exciting boat excursion before going full throttle with a go-kart.

Whether it be by the beach, in the town, or on a yacht, wholesome or otherwise, this seaside marvel has got it covered. Now that’s quite hard to outdo, isn’t it?

Choice of Beach

Playa de las Américas house six different beaches, three natural and three man-made. Most of them have amenities and offer watersports that are distinct from the rest. Those who can’t make up their mind can walk along the long stretch of promenade. They can look around for the seafront that suits them best. Food and lodging establishments, which they might want to consider, are here too.

The Trendy

Playa de Troya is the most popular amongst the six as it is the most idyllic and convenient. The mighty Atlantic waves subside after crashing onto breakwaters that protect the cove. Hence, its golden sand beach always has gentle waves that make it perfect for swimming, even for kids.

Playa de Troya – ©tonobalaguer

Convenience is also essential when a beach is one of many spectacular beaches. Its spacious shore has loads of rental sunbeds, parasols, and a big enough area for some fun on the sand. Also, it is a part of a lengthy promenade that is packed with restaurants, cafes, and bars.

The Surfers’ Side

To ride waves, tourists must head to either Playa Honda or Playa de Las Américas. Without any barriers, these beaches are unprotected from the ocean’s wallop. Their reef breaks, though, shatter giant waves into barreling ones that makes it ideal for surfing. There is also no shortage of surfing equipment rental shops too.

The Quieter Beaches

Playa de El Bobo is the northernmost beach of Playa de las Américas, while Playa del Camisón is at the southern tip. These two are the ‘quieter’ seaside of the resort, which makes them more favored by families with kids. Because their bays are protected, the calm waters are suitable for swimming. What’s more, both are decked with sunbeds and tiki umbrellas. There may be fewer activities on these beaches, but they exude exotic island appeal.

With Cultural Interest

Playa del Búnker-El Guincho or simply Playa de Guincho has a rocky shore and is a bit secluded. Although not the place to sunbathe, adventurers can kite and windsurf in its waters.

Deposits of mollusks formed around 100 thousand years ago are also found here. As such, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Paleontological Zone category in 2007. This is the reason why the secluded oceanfront has not been affected by tourism.

Nocturnal Holidays

Playa de las Américas’ nightlife is famous all across Europe. People from everywhere, even other resorts, march here to party and go clubbing all night. Everything needed for a nocturnal holiday is here. Neon lights, loud music, nightclubs, and bars all come alive as soon as the sun goes down.

There are three nightlife hubs in the area – Veronica’s Strip, Starco Centre, and the Patch. The first two are more preferred by the younger crowd, while the last is popular amongst over 25’s.

Town Center

What is a holiday without shopping? For many, that is impossible. What of the souvenirs they need to take home or all the good buys they’d miss? Indeed, most people have mastered the art of spending and purchasing. And, in Playa de las Américas, that is one passion tourists can fully practice.

Walk or Ride a Bike on the Promenade – ©amoklv

The resort’s commerce industry is at the town center, and it’s bustling. There, visitors get to luxuriate on international and signature brands. They can also sharpen their haggling skills at the Americas Torviscas Market. Every Thursday and Saturday, this bargain oasis and its stalls and stalls of good deals open.

As the Canaries’ tourist mecca, a great selection of bars, restaurants, and clubs are in the town center too. Tourists can dine when hunger strikes while they’re shopping. They can also party or enjoy drinks after their buying extravaganza. In the party capital of Tenerife, though, visitors don’t shop till they drop. Instead, they shop then drop by a pub.

Central Park of Arona

Opened in 2004, the Central Park of Arona is a 42,000-square-meter public park. This pleasure garden is fantastic for tourists who prefer tranquil leisure walks. It has pathways lined with macadamia and tamarind trees. There are also more than 40 species of palm trees mixed with other vegetation fit for a tropical Eden.

The park isn’t only for walkers and flora enthusiasts. Kids especially enjoy this place because of the several playgrounds found here. It also has squares and parking areas.

Other Fun Activities and Places of Recreation

Frolicking in the clear waters and indulging the town’s nightlife is enjoyable. But, there are also other fun activities and places to see. When in Playa de las Américas, there’s no reason to limit one’s self to the usual beach pastime.

Surfing in Playa de las Américas – ©chasdesign

There are plenty of choices for travelers who prefer make the most out of the azure Atlantic. As mentioned, swimming, kite and windsurfing, are the hot water activities here. Other water sports like jet skiing, scuba diving, paddling, and snorkeling are also catching up.

Boat excursions are particularly famous amongst families and groups. They can hop on a yacht for whale and dolphin watching cruises. A visit to the magnificent seabed on a submarine is also quite trendy. There’s even a pirate boat trip for those who’d like to see the astounding coast in style – as an outlaw in the olden days.

At the heart of the resort is the 18-hole course of Golf Las Américas. Tourists praise its superb customer service and challenging course with good variations. The price for hiring golf buggy and clubs are reasonable too.

Aside from hitting hole-in-ones, other recreations on dry land are horse and camel riding, donkey trekking, hiking, and watching live shows at the Piramide de Arona. For more excitement, tourists can visit the nearby waterparks – Siam Park and Aqualand.

Getting to Paradise

From the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife, tourists can take either bus line 110 or 111. Its final destination is Costa Adeje, but one of their stops is Playa de las Américas. Those coming from Los Cristianos should ride either bus line 473 or 477 to Los Gigantes. They also stop at Playa de las Américas.

All four bus lines depart hourly or even twice in some hours. Once at the Las Américas bus station, they only need to walk for around five to ten minutes to reach the beach area. Just before the promenade is the deluge of hotels and apartments.

The Awesome and Affordable

Dining on a budget isn’t bad at all when there are restaurants like La Casita de Taby around. As it is one of Playa de las Américas’ most famous, diners are often shocked at its minimal menu. Well, the owners want to keep it uncomplicated here.

This food haven serves excellent tapas and other Spanish dishes. Their best offerings include octopus and potato salad, sausage in cider, meat platter, and baked chorizo.

Love the Local

Friends Lounge Bar & Restaurant is the place to go for authentic Canarian dishes. It has lovely furnishings and is very chic. It is also almost always full which proves just how popular it is. Be one of the many diners who sing praises about their selection of tapas, chicken tikka with a curry sauce, burger, lasagne with a prawn cracker on top, paella, and steaks. If there’s room for more, most definitely try their cheesecake.

The Beach that has Everything

The most famous resort of the island of Tenerife…

For two

Playa de las Americas is considered, and perhaps is, the main resort of the island … It was from this resort that the rapid, explosive growth of Tenerife tourism began in the 70-80s of the last century … de las Americas is the second time we have chosen for our vacation: the resort is still attractive and all the significant sights from Avenida de las Americas and Piramide de Arona (with Carmen Mota’s Anthology show) to an excellent promenade and no less excellent beaches – all in their places…

Paradise on Earth

For two

Playa de Las Americas is the famous southern resort of Tenerife, located between two other resort towns: Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos. The city is quite modern and cozy: with many boutiques and cozy cafes, it was built 50 years ago as a resort. My wife and I rested in November 2017 at the 4-star Gala Hotel. The hotel is clean, comfortable, every evening pleased with an interesting cultural program. The weather at this time of the year was simply gorgeous, sunbathing and swimming every day! The beach was within walking distance, but territorially belonged to Costa Adeje. A half-hour walk from the hotel there were famous: the water park “Siam Park” and the shopping center of the same name with boutiques of famous manufacturers of fashionable clothes, as well as Las Americas Avenue (Avenida De Las Américas), better known as the “Golden Mile” and producing indelible for all tourists impression both in the daytime and in the evening with its beauty, boutiques and cafes.

This place in the evening attracts many vacationers in the south of Tenerife, as along the avenue there are restaurants, shops with iridescent signs, bars with live music, and a musical fountain in the Safari shopping center stops passers-by with its colorful lights and playful water jets rushing into the sky.

On the territory of the Golden Mile shopping centers, you will find shops and boutiques of famous world brands, where, as in all of Spain, there are sales with significant discounts (especially in the last days of their action, reaching up to 70%). The winter season of discounts starts from 07.01 to 06.03 and the summer season from 01.07 to 31.08. If you are completely determined to immerse yourself in shopping, then the best choice would be to go to the capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. You will find detailed information in the section shopping in Tenerife.

The rest of the vaccinishes without a saturated night life, disco, clubs and athletes, clubs and athletes of the waist -Las Americas, near the youth hangout place “Las Veronicas”. Popular hotels here are Sol Tenerife 4* and Gala 4*. Tip: for those who want to sleep soundly at night without too much noise, it is better to decide on other hotels or, if possible, ask for rooms with access to the opposite side of the party places.

      Weather

Playa de Las Americas is a favorite holiday destination for tourists from all over the world, because everything here is created specifically to provide comfortable conditions for relaxation and entertainment. And thanks to the unique climate of the southern coast of Tenerife, you can relax in Playa de Las Americas all year round. Choosing a vacation in the south, unlike its northern part, you are more likely to deprive yourself of unpredictable weather, since the Teide volcano, together with the high mountain range, does not allow the cold northern trade winds and clouds to pass, leaving them on the northern part of the island of Tenerife.

The special attraction of Las Americas is the beaches, clean, comfortable, with unusual grayish volcanic sand brought from other Spanish territories. And which will certainly appeal to beach lovers. And what is especially nice – the beaches belong to the municipality and are free for vacationers 365 days a year and 24 hours a day. True, there are only two of them on the territory of the resort, one of them is Playa El Camison (Spanish: Playa de El camison), equipped with breakwaters to protect the coast and make swimming safe and enjoyable. The second beach – Playa Honda (Spanish: Playa de Honda) is not equipped, not equipped with everything necessary for cultural recreation, but is used mainly by surfers for boarding.

        Borders of the resort

        Las Americas in Tenerife.

        Spain in Russian

Playa de Las Americas is a resort town in the southwestern part of the island. Here began one of the sea routes to America, hence the name. However, looking at Las Americas today, the name is more likely to be associated with contemporary American culture. Everything is very chic and on a grand scale: Hard Rock Cafe, a theater that looks more like a casino in Las Vegas, shopping centers sparkling with Rolexes from their windows, golf and tennis fields … Even on the streets you can hear more English (and Russian) speech – in a word, there is no Spanish flavor at all.

The city was founded almost from scratch in the 1970s, when tourism began to flourish in Tenerife. In the same years, the Aqualand water park appeared, and the Loro Zoo on the other side of the island was already actively attracting tourists from all over the world. Las Americas was built mainly for commercial purposes, and it is clearly felt. The place was chosen well, because in this part of the island the sun always shines and carefree resort life goes on as usual, while clouds frown in the north and in the mountains, driving tourists away from the beach. On the southern coast, it is warm in winter and not too hot in summer: the temperature in winter is not lower than 20 ° C, in summer it is not higher than 30 ° C.

The main attraction is, of course, the beach, where the azure wave caresses the shore. You can swim on this stretch of coast from March to November, the ocean is quite calm, shallow near the coast, there are no big waves here, as in neighboring El Medano, so you can safely stay in Las Americas even with small children. Particularly courageous Russians swim in winter. Although the ocean is always cool and warms up to no more than 21 ° C, it is still more comfortable to swim in spring and summer.

There are many beaches here – eight, velvety sand is brought here from the Sahara desert for the delight of tourist eyes. Particularly good are Del Camison Beach near five-star hotels, Troya Beach, where young people come to smoothly move to the bars of the famous Las Veronicas neighborhood in the evening, as well as La Pinta, a family beach where there are many children happily flopping down from inflatable slides in water. In general, the beaches of Las Americas are quite quiet. It is dominated by people of mature age, mainly from England and Germany, there are few street vendors. The noisiest companies on the beach are locals, not crazed tourists, as, for example, in Barcelona. Theft is common, as in other tourist places in Spain, from the “lucky man” who fell asleep on the beach, they take everything that lies badly.

Tenerife South Airport is only 20 kilometers from Las Americas, which is very convenient. A taxi ride will cost 10-12 euros, by bus – only 3 euros.

Las Americas is the largest resort of the Canary Islands, while delighting with affordable prices. There are several 4- and 5-star hotels here, which often make great deals, as they have been strongly pressed by private traders renting apartments and villas via the Internet. As a result, in a good hotel you can stay at almost the same prices as in apartments, but get European service in addition.

In the center of the city there is a huge park covering an area of almost 42 square meters. km. You will certainly enjoy the collection of tropical plants brought here from all over the world. In Las Americas, such a typically American sport as golf is developed. Anyone can learn how to hit the ball. And the beautiful half of humanity can, in the meantime, “shop” to its fullest! Numerous shopping centers offer a wide range of clothing, shoes and accessories: from the basic firms Zara, Mango and Desigual to luxury brands from around the world – Escada, Prada, D&G and others. And all this is sold without VAT, as the Canary Islands are a free economic zone.

There is no shortage of restaurants, cafes and bars in Las Americas: every evening you can have lunch and dinner in a new place. But do not look for tapas (they are not available in the Canary Islands in principle) or paella (it is better not to take it here). In Las Americas, all establishments offer a standard set of dishes at standard prices that are served in any resort in the world: pizza, pasta, burgers with fries, steaks. All food in restaurants is of high quality and inexpensive. There are also several Chinese restaurants and the ubiquitous fast food. Without trying the Canarian cuisine, you cannot leave Tenerife, so we advise you to look for small restaurants away from the beach or even in other cities, for example, in Icod de los Vinos, where you can also buy the famous local Malvasia wine, or in the port the city of Los Gigantes with its good fish cuisine.

If you are planning to have an active holiday, it will also be convenient for you to stay in Las Americas. The city is located at a short distance from the attractions: the capital of the island of Santa Cruz – in one direction, Masca Gorge and Los Gigantes – in the other, the shortest and most convenient way to the top of the Teide volcano also starts in Las Americas. Siam Park water park and San Miguel Castle, where the famous jousting tournament takes place, are also very close. From the port of Puerto Colon, yachts and catamarans depart for boat trips, and small specially equipped boats go for deep-sea fishing.

In order not to miss anything interesting, come to Las Americas in early February, during the world-famous Canary Carnival, or at the end of June, when all of Spain freezes in anticipation of the most magical night of the year – the night of San Juan. Right on the beach, everyone will jump over the fire and make wishes, swim in the dark and dance until the morning.

Center for services for life and business “Spain in Russian” is your guide in the world of individual tourism. Organization of tours, routes, trips, tickets for various events, excursions with the best guides, organization of holidays. Services for demanding clients.
