La gomera weather october: La gomera, Spain – October Weather
La gomera, Spain – October Weather
La Gomera is part of Spain’s Canary Islands, sitting between Tenerife and La Palma. At just 370km², it is one of the smallest islands and retains a quiet, peaceful ambience, with mountains and walking trails rather than mass tourism. Travelers come here to relax and revel in the beautiful natural surroundings.
The island of La Gomera is basked in sub-tropical Mediterranean weather all year round thanks to its location in the Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of Africa. The month of October, while the middle of autumn in continental Europe, is still warm in La Gomera. This makes it a popular holiday destination for those wishing to escape the cooling climate of other countries

Things To Do In La Gomera In November
Virgin of Guadalupe San Sebastian
In August, the Canary Islands often celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe San Sebastian. The city of San Sebastian has its own patron saint and celebrates largely at sea, with a statue of the Virgin Mary being moved via boat along the coast. Interestingly, this celebration is only observed every five years, but you might be lucky enough to witness it if you time your visit right. If you miss out on the celebration, don’t worry; the picturesque village of San Sebastian de la Gomera itself has attractions that merit a visit. This small town is filled with quaint, winding streets where you can wander and find historic towers and buildings.
Boating Organisations
If you’d like to enjoy the view of La Gomera from the sea, consider booking an excursion on one of the local boating organisations. These companies offer tours and boats for hire that include fishing as well as dolphin and whale watching. Whale and dolphin watching is usually best during the spring, but there is no time of the year that isn’t worth your time.

We base the humidity comfort level on the dew point, as it determines whether perspiration will evaporate from the skin, thereby cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier and higher dew points feel more humid. Unlike temperature, which typically varies significantly between night and day, dew point tends to change more slowly, so while the temperature may drop at night, a muggy day is typically followed by a muggy night.
The chance that a given day will be muggy in San Sebastián de la Gomera is very rapidly decreasing during October, falling from 42% to 20% over the course of the month.
For reference, on August 29, the muggiest day of the year, there are muggy conditions 56% of the time, while on January 14, the least muggy day of the year, there are muggy conditions 0% of the time.

We draw particular cautious attention to our reliance on the MERRA-2 model-based reconstructions for a number of important data series. We further caution that our travel scores are only as good as the data that underpin them, that weather conditions at any given location and time are unpredictable and variable, and that the definition of the scores reflects a particular set of preferences that may not agree with those of any particular reader.

For all data based on historical data, we’ve averaged the data from the past 11 years (2010-2020). For example, for the hourly temperature at 10am, we’ve looked at the temperature at 10am on every day in October (e.g., October 1, October 2, etc. in 2010, 2011, etc.) and took the arithmetic mean. We did not smooth the data, so for example, our daily temperature line will have some randomness due to the fact that weather is random in the first place.

La Gomera is located in the Atlantic Ocean and belongs to the Canary Islands. With a population of almost 20,000 people and an area of about 230 miles², it is significantly smaller than its neighbouring islands La Palma and Tenerife. Of the seven main islands of the Canary Islands, only El Hierro is smaller in area than La Gomera.
The main town is San Sebastian de La Gomera. The distance to the Spanish mainland is 810 miles, about 190 miles to the African mainland. The highest mountain on the island is the Garajonay, whose natural reserve makes up around ten percent of the island.
Like all Canary Islands, La Gomera is volcanic in origin and consists mainly of old lava, rocks and tuff. The flora of the island is quite varied and varies considerably depending on the altitude.
In the centre of La Gomera lies the Garajonay National Park with a dense cloud forest, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Climate on La Gomera
La Gomera, like the rest of the Canary Islands, enjoys a very mild climate. In the year La Gomera comes on more than 2900 sun hours, so that the yearly average temperature lies between pleasant 18 °C to 25 °C. It is not for nothing that the Canary Islands are considered to be the place with the highest number of hours of sunshine in Europe. The maximum temperatures in summer are 29 °C, at night they only fall below 17 °C in January and February.
Especially the mild evenings are ideal for exploring beautiful restaurants and beach bars. In the months January to April the sea hardly cools down, so one finds super bathing temperatures almost the whole year round. The month with the most precipitation of the year is December, here it can come to rainfalls of up to 1.06 in.

When to go to La Gomera?
The best time to visit La Gomera is between July and November. In the spring months of March, April and May the temperatures begin to rise to 23 °C to 25 °C, where the bathing season on the beautiful Canary Island begins. The northern regions of the island are more suitable for hiking and trekking. The many hiking routes lead through a breathtaking landscape, for example in the Garajonay National Park.
In these months you have the perfect conditions for extensive hiking tours. Also in autumn the temperatures are still pleasant, but the probability of precipitation is a little higher than in spring. However, you should have warmer clothes in your luggage, as it could get colder in the mountains.
For holidaymakers who want to enjoy the sun, the best time to travel is of course from July to October. Nothing stands in the way of extensive sunbathing and bathing.

Highlights and Attractions
Like La Palma, La Gomera has been spared from mass tourism and is the perfect island for nature lovers. An absolute must for all La Gomera vacationers is the visit of the Garajonay National Park. Here you can make wonderful walks and be impressed by the silence and beauty of the place.
Also a tour on the Garajonay is worthwhile, since one has a fantastic view over the island from here. We also recommend a visit to the “Valley of the Great King”, the municipality of Valle Gran Rey. The valley offers an exotic view thanks to a terraced cultural landscape with a multitude of banana plantations. For beach lovers, a visit to the beach of San Sebastian de La Gomera is also recommended.

October Weather in La Gomera, Spain – 2022 – Winter Sun Expert
If you know of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands, Spain, then you may have heard of La Gomera. This island is the second smallest among these groups of islands which lie off the African coast in the Atlantic Ocean. The island has a small population with roughly 22,000 inhabitants who have a unique means of communicating with one another from miles away.
Before the Spaniard settlers arrived on these islands, they were inhabited by indigenous people called Guanches who had a rich and amazing culture. They worshipped their god at a sanctuary in the highest point of the island. Archeological explorations into the sanctuary have found altars, pyres, and other ceremonial constructions. This mountainous island has steep slopes and an interesting half-cut orange shape.

We base comfort level on dew point, as it determines whether sweat will evaporate from the skin, cooling the body. A lower dew point makes you feel more dry, while a higher dew point makes you feel more humid. Unlike temperature, which typically varies significantly between day and night, dew point tends to change more slowly, so while temperatures may drop at night, a wet day usually gives way to a wet night.

The history of the competition goes back to the 18th century, when this art allegedly helped one Catalan escape from captivity. Not only the height of the living pyramid is evaluated, but also the complexity of its design. The action takes place in the arena for bullfighting.
- Chocolate Festival (Italy). Every year, 10 days in October become the sweetest for guests and participants of this popular holiday in Europe. More than 200 manufacturers and hundreds of thousands of tourists. The center of attraction is the city of Perugia. 3 stars
Hotel in San Sebastian de la Gomera
Torre Del Conde is located in the center of San Sebastian de la Gomera, 200 meters from the marina.
In all of the reviews that I have done, I think that this hotel has been the most harshly rated.
It is way above low 8’s and, in my opinion, is worthy of 9.5+ as I can not fault in any way (booking.com does not facilitate subtleties in ratings any more).
The location could not be more central, the price was great value and all of the staff at reception and breakfast were lovely.
The room was pristine and spacious, breakfast was fine and I had a lovely ovely view of the Torre with the sea to the side.Expand

it’s the only place you can stay at in this part of the island, and it’s a hidden gem.
On the day I was in the staff was absent, but there’s a good check-in/out system in place.
There’s also an in-hotel self-help mini shop, so you won’t starve if you run out of food or water.
Next door there’s a bar serving food till 6PM.
It’s a brilliant place, with very helpful hosts and a must-stay if you’re backpacking through the island.Expand

Its a fantastic hotel that has a really nice feel to it .
We went half board which I never normally do as I like going out to different restaurants every night . But on this occasion I was really glad we did as there where not as many restaurants open in the area due to Covid as usual .
The food was lovely with great choices every night.
The service was great in the hotel and it looks out west so if you get a sea view perfect for sunsets .
The public stops right across the road which we used everyday to access walks in the area .
The hotel also provided beach towels for free.Expand

Hotel Rural Ibo Alfaro
Hotel in Hermigua
Beautiful rooms with views of the Hermigua Valley and the Atlantic Ocean are located in a converted manor house.
It was paradise! I don’t think we picked our room when we booked, but we ended up with a huge room and a massive terrace overlooking a valley. The location was nice — the hotel itself feels remote (we could see the stars well from the terrace at night), but the center of town is a 10-ish-minute walk away and there’s a store for essentials as well as a handful of restaurants (we went to two, and both were great). Would recommend!Expand

The hotel is at a great location. There are a lot of bars and restaurants that can be reached by foot. Also a supermarket is very close.
Playa del Ingles a beautiful natural beach with black sand is only a 10 minute walk away.
The rooms are very big. We have been positively surprised that their was a little kitchen in the room.
We also need to point out that the and staff at the hotel was very friendly.Expand
