To this day, scientists cannot agree on where the original inhabitants of La Gomera came from. This leaves a lot of room for hypothetical and phantasmal explanations. Legends are still abundant about the island of the blissful.
One thing that we can be sure of, is that the Phoenicians, coming from what is known today as Cadiz, were bold sailors, who explored the Atlantic Ocean between 1100-800 B.C. and very probably were the ones to discover every one of the Canary Islands.
In the Canaries, the Phoenicians found the sought after plant, the Orchilla-lichen and took it back home with them. The purple substance which could be won from the plant became their main commodity.
From 5000 B.C., the first settlers landed on La Gomera. It is unclear as to whether they came from north African Berlan Tribes or if they were part of the megalithic culture. It is also still unknown, if the settlement was part of a specific migration.
It is assumed that the Ancient Canarians on La Gomera, had neither contact to Africa nor to the neighbouring islands.
the peaceful people lived in a stone-age culture. Mostly they were farmers and shepherds, who also sustained themselves by fishing and clothing themselves with furs.
The social structure of the Ancient Canarians, which was based on the principal of equality, is seen as highly developed.
When the Spanish arrived on La Gomera in the 15th century, the island was divided into four tribal regions. The natural religion of the original inhabitants, which consisted of the cosmic and earthly elements (stars, rain, plants, animals, mountains, etc.) and also the belief in good and evil, was the most important pillar of their culture.
The religious aspect influenced social, political and economical life. Even today, the cult sites on the table mountain La Fortaleza, as well as the highest mountain on the island, Garajonay, are a sign of the culture of the island’s original inhabitants.
The geographic location of La Gomera, as with all of the Canary Islands, was known very early on. The mathematician and geographer Ptolemy determined the exact location of La Gomera between 85 and 160 A.D. However a cloak of (European) oblivion fell over the island of eternal spring.
For hundreds of years, the island of the blissful remained forgotten in Europe until the end of the 12th century, when seafarers and merchants started looking for new markets to develop.
Improved nautical technology made it possible from this point on, to invade the islands, enslave the islanders and take hold of the island’s natural resources.
Spain’s conquest of La Gomera began in 1404, after the Norman aristocrat Jean de Bethencourt annexed Lanzarote and Fuertaventura to the Spanish Crown.
Supported by the Catalan King, Bethencourt acted under the guise of a Christian missionary, however, his real interest was of economical nature. In 1404, Bethencourt tried to invade La Gomera, but failed because of the bitter resistance of the natives. An attack at a later time managed to subdue two of the four tribes.
The Spanish authority changed many times, until Hernan de Peraza, together with the beautiful Beatriz de Bobadilla, ruled cruelly over La Gomera in 1447.
The fortress tower, Torre del Conde, was built in San Sebastian as a retreat. The two remaining tribes resisted the regime and were not finally defeated until 1488 due to an ambush by Alonso Fernandez de Lugo, the conqueror of Tenerife and La Palma.
After the conquest, many islanders were sold to the Spanish mainland as slaves or were moved around within the archipelago, to prevent uprisings.
The remaining Benahores came to terms with a life under the conquerors.
Soon they started speaking their language and their own language was lost. Today only a few reminders of the ancient language remain, in place names such as Tijarafe.
In 1514 they became emancipated and were legally equal to the Spanish. A feudal system was established, which remained in La Palma until into the 18th century.
Sugarcane and wine were the most important export goods of la Gomera until well into the 16th century. After an economical crisis, the Canaries were declared a free trade area in 1852 and new accents were given to the economy.
Conchenille-lice, which live on prickly pears, provided a very sought after red dye. Shortly afterwards however, synthetic dyes were invented, which caused the Cochineal production to collapse.
Because of these factors, a second wave of emigration took place at the end of the 19th century. Many tried their luck in Cuba and Venezuela.
When Franco died in 1975, King Juan Carlos introduced democracy to Spain. For the first time, the Canarios had a chance to elect a regional government. In 1982 the canaries were granted autonomic status, divided into the provinces of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to which La Gomera belongs.
When Spain joined the EC, the Canaries were given a special status with a trade guarantee for bananas, which ran out in the mid-1990s. The island’s government now concentrates on the branches of industry tourism, agriculture and fishing. The individual branches are supported through specific promotions.

I really enjoyed my Spanish lessons with Island Learning La Gomera.
The teacher knew precisely my level and what I was looking for. Arturo is excellent and originally from the Canary Islands which is good because he can teach me the particularities of the area.
It was easy and fast to organize and begin a lesson.
Anna the headmaster is professional, nice, available at all times and very concerned about her students.
I recommend this school if you want to learn Spanish.

I stayed 9 weeks at this school and I really enjoyed my time there. My teacher was attentive to my level, my desires and my centers of interest. I couldn’t do many activities because I was at the beginning of my pregnancy but many times they offered me the opportunity to enjoy the island. Anna, the director, has been super sweet and helped me in different ways!
I felt listened to and I had a good laugh. I definitely recommend this school. Hasta luego!

Surprisingly, I have nothing to say about La Gomera. After spending a day on the island and driving around it up and down, I never found anything worthwhile there. This is something like an addition to Tenerife: vacationers come to Homera who want to see another Canary island, but do not want to waste time on the road. Just half an hour on the ferry – and you are here.
Nature lovers will find something for themselves here. Although on other islands everything is in order with nature. In a word, La Gomera is the most useless island of the archipelago.
1 The island is completely devoid of any individuality. I have already seen all this somewhere.
2 Many terraced gardens. Growing wine. As you understand, after the volcanic vineyards of Lanzarote, there is nothing to see here.
3 Cities are still pretty, monotonous and deserted.
4 Here, I found an old Soviet Niva. Rotting his age. One can only sympathize with the owner: it is unpleasant to drive along such serpentines without a hydraulic booster.
5 The only thing that reminds of the island’s volcanic origin is the permanent black beaches.
6
7 Lots of tunnels.
8
9 Lagomersky summer resident is carrying seedlings.
10
11 Nice city in the mountains.
12 Even topless girls don’t sunbathe on this strange island!
13 One of the few points on the route around the island was this castle. Either a real historical fortress, or just a restaurant.
14 But the road to it was blocked. A thousand stones fell from the mountain and turned a cozy path with good asphalt into a typical Russian road.
15 Some devastation and desolation here.
16
17 In short, I didn’t see the castle and didn’t eat at the restaurant.
18 Serpentines here are only good. Better than mostly in Tenerife. More interesting, more original, more dangerous.
19 The woman wanted to jump into the ocean, but when she saw the photographer she changed her mind.
20 And the ocean is good. There is a beach nearby. And there are no people. Enjoy.
21 Something strange at the bottom of the sea.
22 In the center of the island there is a national park with dense vegetation. This is already a hiking area. You need to leave the car and walk for long kilometers on foot. I was lazy so I just drove past it.
23 And here is the main mountain, the symbol of La Gomera. In the pictures, it is usually shown among a truly tropical forest. Just jungles: creepers, monkeys, the mountain itself seemed green to me too. In fact, a complete disappointment. The forest has just burned down.
24 This is such an island, there is not even anything to tell. Now all hopes for the island of El Hierro, the westernmost and smallest in the archipelago. Previously, it was the zero meridian and the border of the Ancient World. Until the discovery of America, El Hierro was the extreme point of the world. Perhaps I can look across the ocean and see the Turtle and the Elephants?

The Anfi Tauro Golf is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, 10 minutes from Maspalomas.
Opened in 2007, architect Robert Von Hagge is inspired by the Arizona style to offer an innovative and fun 18-hole course. Volcanic colors, rich vegetation, mountains in the shape of a volcano; the frame instantly plunges you into a movie set!
The Anfi Tauro Golf course is very pleasant, quite technical but nevertheless accessible to all.
The decor and impeccable maintenance are indeed assets but can quickly become enemies … Be precise and do not let yourself be distracted by the extraordinary and privileged view that emerges before your eyes!

Golf Salobre is located in the south of the Canary Islands, in Maspalomas, in the heart of a luxury hotel complex.
Its geographical location will allow you to play golf all year round and you will get a change of scenery during your stay thanks to the sumptuous views of the sea and the mountains.
For the happiness of all, the complex offers 2 18-hole courses: the “New Course” and the “Old Course”.
Golf Salobre is the only resort in the Canary Islands to offer 36 holes to golfers.
The “Old Course” (18 holes – Par 71 – 5 meters) is located in the heart of arid vegetation. Designed by the architect Roland Favré, the latter knew how to exploit the environment to bring a particular personality to each of the 565 holes.
The “New Course” (18 holes – Par 72 – 5 meters) was designed by Ron Kirby. Inked in its landscape of volcanic rocks, it blends into the background and offers golfers a unique game in an unusual place.
The Lopesan Meloneras Golf is an absolute oasis of palm trees and lakes, with the nature of the Canary Islands as the real protagonist. The golf course is located on the Costa Meloneras, the new tourist resort in the south of Gran Canaria.
It is ideally located between the Maspalomas Dunes Nature Reserve and Pasito Blanco Marina, right in front of Meloneras Beach. In addition, the Lopesan Meloneras Golf offers panoramic views of the mountains of the island, a luxury that is added to an enviable climate that allows golfers to practice their favorite activity all year round.
Lopesan Meloneras Golf, an 18-hole par 71 golf course, is located right by the sea. Golf players enjoy a spectacular view from the green, where the green of the course mingles with the blue of the ocean .
The Maspalomas golf course is located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Dunes of Maspalomas, a protected area of more than 400 hectares, in a landscape where the sea and palm trees draw the horizon. The course is relatively flat, rather long but with wide fairways .
Between a panorama of desert dunes, green fairways, palm trees and well-defended greens, Maspalomas leaves its visitors with lasting memories.

Gran Canaria
Canary Islands
Gran Canaria does tend to fly under the radar when it comes to golf courses but it is home to some of the finest golf courses in Europe in our opinion! The majority of the courses are centered around the resorts of Maspalomas, Meloneras and Mogan.
First up is the unmissable Anfi Tauro. If you play anywhere in Gran Canaria, make sure you include Anfi Tauro, you will not regret it. A Von Hagge designed golf course, Anfi Tauro Golf Club is a true desert, canyon style golf course with some incredible holes carved out of the landscape. A championship set up and immaculately maintained, the course has the WOW factor from start to finish. A gentle, forgiving opening hole lulls you into a false sense of security and you are rapidly brought back down to Earth..now you are in the game. Be sure to take the camera…and a few extra golf balls.
One of the best set up’s in the Canary Islands. A truly modern championship design and holes running close to the Atlantic Ocean. Meloneras Golf Club is only minutes from the popular beach resorts of Maspalomas and Meloneras meaning that this is a very popular course and is included within most golfers’ itineraries when playing in Gran Canaria. The condition of the golf course is always very high. We found it a real challenge, particularly if the wind is blowing…and it does blow regularly in Gran Canaria making club selection a headache at times and adding a different aspect to an already challenging golf course.
This is a members’ orientated golf club and is ideally located within Maspalomas itself – easy walking distance from some of our favourite hotels! The friendly members vibe is felt throughout the club and it is a very welcoming environment for the holiday golfer. The golf course is a gentler holiday golf experience and very walkable. The course is flat but beware of the many palm trees or you will be very quickly out of position. The famous dunes at Maspalomas are a real feature of the course. An errant drive on a couple of holes and you will be re-loading with a lost ball finding its new home in the unforgiving Dunes!
This course is attached to the Salobre Resort & Serenity which sits in an elevated position around 15 minutes from the resort of Maspalomas. The older sister of the 36 hole set up at Salobre, we really enjoyed the Salobre Old Course as it was a more traditional design and a really fair but true holiday golf experience. The course is inland and offers a canyon style experience at points. There are many enjoyable holes including some long par 5s and risk and reward holes too. It can be walked too although if hot, we recommend taking a buggy. It has the golf holiday vibe about the place and offers a different experience to the courses already listed – Salobre Old is a course you should be including in your Gran Canaria golf itinerary.

The second largest golf club has opened in the northeastern part of the Croatian island of Greater Brijuni. Golf courses are located between the sea and the safari park, where zebras, mouflons, deer live. Unlike most European golf courses, where the grass is mowed two or three times a week, the Bryun course is cared for by animals. nine0005
The golf course was built according to the design of 1923, when representatives of the elite of that time played on the same slopes. The adjacent territory was equipped according to the same project. An original wooden house has been built for visitors, where you can drink a refreshing drink and admire the sea view.
Along with a new golf course, this year a renovated safari park, a refurbished boat port and some new services await tourists. One of them is the opportunity to reserve an island for one day for lunch or dinner in an intimate setting.

Old Town of Benidorm, or the Old Quarter of Benidorm (Parte Vieja) – is perhaps one of the best places in Benidorm for walking, gastronomy and shopping. If you are tired of a beach holiday, the bustle of the city and the high-rise buildings of Benidorm, then the old quarter will be an ideal place for walking, where you can fully experience the Spanish flavor and breathe in a breath of “fresh” air. nine0003
The old town area is located on a picturesque promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, in the very center of Benidorm, between two central sandy beaches – Levante and Poniente, thus separating the long coastline and forming the central part of the coast.
The old town of Benidorm is low buildings in traditional Spanish style, small and cozy squares, narrow winding streets, which are full of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as sights and historical monuments. nine0003
The main and most visited historical sights of the old town of Benidorm are :
Balcony of the Mediterranean (Balcon del Mediterraneo) . The Mediterranean Balcony is an observation deck that offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea, the island of Benidorm, the coast and part of the city.
A snow-white staircase leads to the Balcony, passing along the slope of the cliff
On the very cliff, near the stairs leading to the Balcony of the Mediterranean, there is a beautiful snow-white area Castelar /Plaça de Castelar. Here are the balustrade, arches, observation points and places for recreation. The platform is partly decorated with ornamental mosaics.
In front of the stairs, in the very center of the square, you can see old cannons . Once there was a fort in this place, but now only these cannons and some fragments of the walls serve as a reminder of the castle. nine0003
Along the perimeter of the square, as elsewhere in the Old Town, there are cafes and restaurants with outdoor tables.
The main religious monument of Benidorm, parish church of Saint James and Saint Anna (Parroquia de Sant Jaume i Santa Anna), dominates the square. This beautiful snow-white temple with blue domes is truly the most beautiful building of old Benidorm.
The main entrance to the temple is located on the square of the same name Sant Jaume / Placa de Sant Jaume
The square also has places for recreation, an observation deck overlooking the Levante beach, shops, cafes and hotels.
Senoria Square /Placa de la Senyoria, another beautiful and picturesque square in the Old Town of Benidorm. This area almost closely adjoins Castelar Square and is probably the greenest area of Old Benidorm. Around the square there is an abundance of palm trees, greenery and flowers. nine0003
Also, on the square you can see a monument to those who died at sea – Benidorma los muertos en la Mar .
Near the square, from the sea, there is a wonderful walking area. From this point, a magnificent view of the most beautiful beach of Benidorm – Mal Pas opens.
Another interesting and visited place in Old Benidorm is Tapas Street . Tapas Street, as it is called in the common people, in fact, the street has its own name – Santo Domingo, better known as “Tapas Alley”. Tapas Alley is a feature not only of the old city, but of the whole of Benidorm. The fact is that on the street, as well as nearby squares and back streets, there are many tapas bars. There is such a dense concentration of tapas establishments that they just lined up along the street, go and choose your favorite. nine0003
Tapas can be seen directly in the Bars
Bars, In addition to classic tapas and beer, these institutions also serve: wine, cocktails, strong alcohol, various snacks and other other. dishes.
Now let’s take a break from the information and just walk along the charming cobbled streets , along which there are an abundance of cafes and restaurants
In addition to historical attractions, walks and gatherings in bars and cafes, the old city of Benidinom, this is still an ideal city and this is still ideal. shopping place .

Sheltered by mountains and tempered by the sea, this most treasured of Spain’s beach hubs boasts a beautifully temperate climate and makes for a divine holiday destinations especially in December, when the weather further north can be unpleasant to say the least. If you’re visiting Nerja with your extended family to celebrate Christmas then go ahead and look for a rental villa where you can all get together and cook up a feast in your ‘home away from home’. Mercadona supermarket will be your shopping place of choice, with its huge array of fresh produce on offer every day of the year. You’ll find this brand new supermarket on the eastern end of town along Calle de San Miguel. Check out this extensive self-catering guide for more fantastic foodie shopping options in Nerja.

This is actually considered one of the top 5 courses in the entire country, so although you’ll have to drive for twenty minutes reach it, it’ll certainly be worth your while if you’re an avid golfer. Designed by famed Spanish golfer José María Cañizares, this world-class course also boasts beautiful gardens and a great restaurant and bar, making it a fab place to spend an entire winter day.
Skiing aficionados will also have the best of Nerja right at their doorstep, with the sensational Sierra Nevada Ski Resort barely an hour out of town. If you prefer to have everything taken care of for you (including transport) then book a day outing with Ski & Sea and they will organise all, from pick-up and drop-off to lift passes and all the gear you’ll need for an invigorating day out on the snowy slopes of the Almijara mountains. The end of August means back to work for many, however, you don’t have to say goodbye to summer by enjoying a September holiday in certain sunny holiday destinations across Europe. With hot yet not stifling temperatures and fewer crowds, it can be the best time of the year to travel. Here are some of our favorite – and sublimely sunny – spots.
Greek Isles
The end of summer is an excellent time to go to the Greek Isles with hot weather carrying over into September is still hot and virtually no clouds in the sky. The southerly islands of the Dodecanese and the Cyclades experience gorgeous weather even into October. Across the whole archipelago there are also many fewer tourists, leaving the beaches and café terraces for savvy late summer/early autumn travelers. However, be sure to check the ferry schedules as their frequency can decrease dramatically after the high season – not that being “stranded” on a fabulously sunny island would be all that sorrowful! You could always extend your stay at one of our experts outstanding villas or avoid the issue of getting around altogether by hiring out your own private yacht.

Amalfi Coast
With Italian and other European holidayers back at work, you’ll almost have this legendary coastline all to yourself. Enjoy balmy days in the low 20s c (low 70s f) as you amble through the narrow streets of colorful villages, take to the waters on a boat ride out to enchanting Capri or simply sit on the terrace at your private villa sipping some crisp prosecco, bathed in mellow sun and refreshed by the gentle sea breeze.
Where to Stay on the Amalfi Coast.
Malta
This small archipelago boasts some of the Mediterranean’s best September temperatures (around 27°c / 81°f), making it ideal for those craving the heat. This under the radar destination is perfect for anyone seeking a great cultural and gastronomic getaway. You can have an even more authentic experience by holidaying on the lesser know of its two islands, Gozo, where you might be only one of the few travelers wandering through its charming villages. You can also admire its spectacular coastline boating, diving, snorkeling or swimming.
Where to Stay in Malta.
Majorca
With warm late summer days averaging 26°c / 79°f, Majorca provides posh appeal draped in divine sunshine. The largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, it features excellent dining, breathtaking sandy beaches, and seductive secret coves. Dating back to Roman times, its stylish and attractive capital city of Palma has a wide range of fabulous fine and casual dining, excellent boutiques and lively bars. Anchor your yacht in the bay or retreat from the buzz of town to the privacy of an exquisite private villa overlooking its captivating turquoise waters.
Where to Stay in Majorca.
The Western Algarve
Bordered by one of Europe’s most beguiling coastlines of jagged low white cliffs and dreamy coves, the Western Algarve draws those looking for a relaxed luxurious escape surrounded by exceptional beauty and enveloped by warm temperatures through early autumn. Base yourself in a sleek clifftop villa and spend your days lapping up the sunshine next to a marvelous infinity pool, stroll through quaint whitewashed fishing villages or devour succulent seafood on a terrace overlooking the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.
Where to Stay in the Western Algarve.
Saint Tropez
This chic seaside spot in the South of France isn’t only glitz and glamour. The village itself is immensely charming and September visitors can observe more of its true local life as most of the tourist mobs have gone home, also leaving you to savour sparsely populated beaches and lovely mid 20s c (mid 70s f) temperatures. At the end of September, the town plays host to the Regatta Les Voiles de St Tropez, when over 300 sailing yachts from across the world converge to compete in a week of racing and festivities, a must attend event for sailing enthusiasts or avid people watchers.

Sardinia
Summer extends far into September on this captivating Italian island – a destination for those in the know, where you you can cruise through its aquamarine waters on a luxurious speedboat, zoom past its ravishing, rugged landscape in a red Ferrari and dine on incredibly fabulous Mediterranean cuisine in its lovely seaside ports. The more adventurous can spend their days hiking along its coastal paths or kayaking around its sublime beaches while those in need of some rest and relaxing can savor the island’s splendor right from their terrace of one of the island’s impressive villas, like the Villa Paradiso by Villas and Apartments Abroad.
Located on the waterfront at Portisco Bay, the Villa Paradiso was designed by the famous Italian architect, Ferdinando Fagnola. The gorgeous contemporary and ultra comfortable villa was built into the hillside and is surrounded by a beautifully manicured one-hectare estate. It has two spacious living rooms, seven bedrooms, a gym, a panoramic swimming pool and is equipped with the latest high tech devices. What’s more, since the end of the season is approaching, you may be able to have a fantastic luxury getaway to this divine island at a discounted price.
“This is the time to grab the opportunity to afford you a longer lasting summer holiday at stunning villas that would otherwise not have been possible if you tried booking a month ago,” explains Sylvia Delvaille Jones, director of Villas and Apartments Abroad. “ The villa owners around Europe that we work closely with are willing to listen to negotiate a better rate for our last minute clients.”

Is September a good time to go to Europe
Yes, September is indeed a great time to go to Europe! Most Europeans take their holidays in the middle of summer which is either June, July, or August and they travel a portion of that time to other parts of Europe making the aforementioned months pretty crowded.
September is the start of school which means most families are back home and back at work hence crowd thinning. With the crowd thinning, most companies would drop their prices to attract what’s left of the tourists roaming around the area.
Also, the weather in Europe is generally mild with some occasional warm days. The average temperature is around 18C (64F), but it can vary depending on the location.
For example, in the UK, the average temperature is around 14C (57F), while in Spain it’s around 24C (75F).
This means, if you travel in Europe around September you’ll expect fewer crowds and score better prices. Win-win!
Europe is a vast continent with many different cultures and landscapes. So, it really depends on what you are looking for in a vacation. If you are interested in historical sites and beautiful architecture, then destinations like Greece, Spain, France, or Italy might be good choices.
The southern countries also have a plethora of the best places to visit in Europe in September that offers great weather, near-empty beaches, affordable travel, and a taste of luxury at a bargained price – you can choose between Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, and Malta for a sweet getaway.
If you would prefer to explore natural wonders and enjoy outdoor activities and see autumn at full blast, then countries like Norway, Finland, Sweden, or Iceland might be lush to visit.

15 Best Places to Visit in Europe in September
Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen is the capital city of Denmark and a great metropolis for culture, shopping, and nightlife. And it is still small enough to be safe, intimate, and easy to roam around.
Facing the Øresund strait just a minute away from Sweden, Copenhagen is the geographic and cultural bond between Scandinavia and mainland Europe.
It has the perfect fusion of excellent design and architecture with old fairy tales, where cold Electronica mixes with warm jazz. You may feel that you have visited the whole city in a day, but it can keep you exploring more for months.
If you are getting here by highway, you won’t find a sign of city limit saying Copenhagen or “København”. Instead, it says Greater Copenhagen “Storkøbenhavn”. Winter and autumn have great effects on the city.
The streets seem quiet and vivid summer life withers, as most locals remain busy with their work-life balance. Families and friends visit one another for getting together and cooking at home with quiet music and candlelight.
You can also check out some of the best day trips from Copenhagen or explore some of the beautiful castles in Denmark.

Santorini, Greece
Santorini is a volcanic island in the Cyclades of the Greek islands. It is sandwiched between Anafi and Ios islands. It is well known for serene sunsets from Oia town, dramatic views, weird white eggplant, its natural and active volcano, and the city of Thira.
It is well known for its fantastic beaches, including the bear beach of Santorini, Perissa, Kamari beach of black pebbles, and red and white beach.
The tourist season starts around Greek Easter or April It remains less crowded from December to March, as it is the off-season very much, due to colder temperatures, winds, and rain. Even though the temperature barely remains cold, it does not give a better experience on the serene island due to poor weather.
Guesthouses, hotels, and other businesses also remain cold. However, it is still one of the best European cities to visit in September, as the air is usually dry and hot with mild rain.
September to October and April to June are the best times if you are getting here for lower prices, warmer weather, and less traffic.

Berlin, Germany
The capital of Germany, Berlin is among the 16 states under the Federal Republic of Germany and among the best European destinations in September. it has a population of over 4.5 million in the metropolitan region and around 3. 5 million from about 190 countries in the city limits.
Berlin is known as the largest city in the state. Berlin has been historically connected with tolerance, internationalism, and active nightlife as the German capital. Hence, many clubs, bars, cafes, street art, palaces, museums, and other historic attractions always welcome tourists.
The architecture in Berlin is simply varied. Even though it was severely damaged at the end of World War II and was shattered in the Cold War, Berlin has significantly been rebuilt on its own, especially with a drive for reunification when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989.
Now you can easily see the representatives of several previous periods within a short time in the heart of the city. From a few historic complexes, which survived to the modern steel and glass structures of Potsdamer Platz. Berlin remains a city with several different neighborhoods.

Hold up! Have you thought about the importance of travel insurance?
Remember this: anything can happen. Travel is fun, but your health is more important; thus, I always, always, always recommend getting insured during the duration of your trip. I have benefitted from having one multiple times, and it has been covered for thousands of euros!
The latest one is not necessarily “health” related – it was during the peak of the unspeakable terrible C that consumed the world. I was living in Vietnam when I received an email from SafetyWing (my travel insurance) that if I want they’ll fly be back home to Finland as the world goes through a global emergency alert. I flew back fully covered, and dealing with SafetyWing was a breeze despite the roar of people in contact with them trying to get back home.
I can’t highly recommend them enough. Otherwise, I rarely get sick; hence I don’t always need to head to a hospital, but knowing that I have travel insurance makes me feel safe at the very least.
Read my post about why you should get travel insurance for more information. Otherwise, you can get a free quote from SafetyWing – they’re the best, in my opinion.

The capital of Estonia, Tallinn, is located in the south of the Gulf of Finland, just 70 km south of Helsinki. The hill of Toompea is the medieval and historical heart of the city, which is capped with cobbled streets and is full of alleys and medieval houses.

The city’s old town has been surprisingly well preserved and was listed as UNESCO World Heritage in 1997. Now, it has been better than ever, with larger roads turned into trendy shopping streets that seem like Geneva or Zurich.
The Old Town is loaded with tourists, especially in summer, with visitors coming from Helsinki thanks to cheap flights in Europe this season.
Sprawling all around the city, the new town was built in the usual Soviet concrete style, which is covered with steel and glass cubes as a tribute to the economic boom after the Soviet reign.
Vabaduse valjak (Freedom Square) is the new town center here at the edge of the old town. And there is a huge matchbox-styled Hotel Viru nearby, along with the former tourist flagship and the well-known den of the Cold War. Here, every room was monitored and covered by the KGB.

Writers and poets simply inspired the beauty of the Gagra resort on the Black Sea in Abkhazia. The successful combination of the liveliness of the seaside resort town of Gagra and the historical past of Abkhazia, captured in the ancient walls of the Abaata fortress, brings the bulk of vacationers to the beaches of Gagra. The state of Abkhazia weaves romance into its main beach resorts of Pitsunda, Gagra and Sukhum.
The sunset in Santorini is a natural masterpiece of Greece against the backdrop of the lush wording of the white stone buildings. For these emotions people come to Greece exactly here.

Beaches
Fuerteventura has some of the most stunning beaches in the Canary Islands with no less than 150 to choose from. The best of the best include El Caseron, La Concha, Gran Tarajal and Caleta de Fuste.
Corralejo Dunes
Situated on the northern tip of the island, the spectacular soft white sands of the Corralejo Dunes are a protected nature park and is a must see destination for any visit to Feurtentura. The dunes are about 10km long stretching from Puerto Remedio to La Salina and they are the home for a number of animal life and plant varieties.
Betancuria
Betancuria is the former capital of Fuerteventura, and was totally destroyed in 1593 by pirate Jaban. It was eventually rebuilt by the local population and continued to be the islands’ capital until 1834. Today, it’s very popular tourist destination, with a number of souvenir and handicraft shops. There’s also plenty of places to eat and drink.
Fuerteventura is the second largest Canary Island and offers visitors an amazing array of over 150 beaches, lots of sunshine and a very laid-back way of life – perfect for a little rest and relaxation. Located off the west coast of Africa, the island lies just 12 miles to the south of Lanzarote and is a perfect choice for a luxury holiday. Corralejo is considered to be a major tourist resort and boasts a good selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and hotels. There‘s a pretty harbour, a lovely promenade, excellent beaches, and a nearby waterpark and you’re also close to Dunes Natural Park which is a simply stunning 10 km stretch of sand dunes – you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the desert! Jandia lies on the southeast coast and has a historic old town, a soft sandy beach and plenty of watersports. Indulge in a spot of windsurfing before choosing one of the many restaurants in the town and having a leisurely lunch of perfectly prepared freshly caught seafood. Caleta de Fuste has a lovely sheltered horseshoe-shaped beach, a busy market and plenty of hotel complexes. This is another great place for families and couples – there’s a waterpark nearby and a golf course or you could just stay at the beach and enjoy the many watersports on offer. There are plenty of local attractions if you want to venture out including glass bottom catamaran cruises, boat excursions with snorkelling on Lobos Island Natural Park, adventurous dune buggy historical tours from Corralejo and the wonderful Oasis Wildlife Park Fuerteventura which has a wealth of animals and beautiful natural gardens, Accommodation on the island is excellent with a good choice of hotels for families, including some that are all-inclusive, and several adult-only hotels that are perfect for a couples’ break.
