Tenerife Weather 4 to 10 April
What can we say about the weather last week, it was odd. In a way it did what was predicted, there was cloud, sun, wind and some rain across Tenerife… but it was very localised. Whilst trees were blown over in Anaga and flights from Tenerife Norte were disrupted midweek due to a thick blanket of cloud, other parts were enjoying warm and sunny weather. It was one of those weeks which perfectly illustrated why it’s misleading and simply inaccurate to use the weather readings at Tenerife Norte Airport as a measure for the rest of the north of Tenerife. Twice on Wednesday we left the Orotava Valley in sunshine to arrive at a wet airport where visibility was virtually nil. In reality, despite yellow level weather alerts for wind and choppy seas, it was actually a much sunnier and warmer week than expected in many coastal areas. Sunday rounded off the week in a gloriously hot and sunny fashion.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife 11 to 17 April
The forecast is looking much the same as last week with a mix of sun, cloud and showers with not a great difference on any coast. The south west might be slightly brighter but there’s not a lot in it. When this is the case it usually means high cloud which robs Teide National Park of its clear blue skies as well and sure enough, cloud and rain is predicted on high as well. Possibly the most interesting thing about the weather next week is that there could be more snow on Teide from midweek onwards.

Weather in South Tenerife –  The week should start warm and sunny. From Tuesday through to the end of the week there could be a mix of cloud and sun with a chance of showers (5 – 75%). Shade temperatures start the week at 22C dropping to 19/20C from Tuesday till Sunday.

Weather in North Tenerife –  Although the sun should shine every day, it looks like cloud will dominate this week. There’s also the possibility of showers every day (5 – 90%). Shade temperatures start the week around 20/21C dropping slightly to 17C midweek  before rising to 19/20C for the weekend. There’s a yellow weather alert for choppy seas on Monday.

Weather in East Tenerife –  Exactly the same as the outlook for the north except there’s no weather alert for wild seas.

Weather in South West Tenerife – The pattern for cloud and sun even affects the south west although there could be less grey clouds during the week than in all other coastal areas. Temperatures should fluctuate between 19C and 21C all week. Like everywhere else there’s a chance of showers all week (5-70%).

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It’s the same picture in Teide National Park with a mix of sun and cloud all week with showers also forecast for every day at crater level. Wednesday and Thursday could be quite grey and dreary. Even the summit of Mount Teide won’t escape the cloud this week and that rain at 1800m is predicted to turn into snow higher up Teide’s slopes with show showers forecast from Wednesday afternoon onwards.  Temperatures should hover between 7 and 10C in the crater and -1 and 2C on the peak of Mount Teide. Strong winds are also predicted on the summit for Wednesday and Thursday night as well as Saturday afternoon which might affect the running of the cable car.

The Tenerife Weather This Time in 2015
So what happened this time last year? ‘Not as sunny a week on Tenerife as expected with more cloudy spells than anticipated. There was still sunshine most days but it wasn’t as extensive as predicted.’

Pic: A beautifully hot and sunny end to the week.

Weather in Spain in April 2020 at popular resorts – Touristim

The weather at resorts in Spain in April 2020 cannot be considered truly summer yet. Although the mild Mediterranean climate has its effect, nevertheless, 13-15 ° C is the average value for resorts on the mainland and nearby islands. The Canaries stand apart with their main resort Tenerife – in the “land of eternal spring” the weather is always more hospitable to vacationers, although the sea remains moderately warm.

However, the season is gradually approaching, and the long spring in Western Europe is gradually giving way to a hot summer. Rains are the main scourge of tourists who love beach holidays and clear weather, while they are quite strong almost everywhere. The last maximum precipitation in the resorts of Spain ends by May, but until then, 40-50 millimeters of moisture per month is the norm.

Weather in Tenerife in April

As already mentioned, the Canaries are a special climatic zone. The archipelago is pushed far to the south, therefore they do not know about the cold weather here, as well as about the scorching heat. The fact is that a cold Atlantic current flows near the islands, which does not allow high temperatures to set in, and even by the end of summer, coastal waters do not warm up above 23 ° C.

April 2020 average temperatures in Tenerife :

  • during the day +20°C;
  • at night +16°C;
  • water +18°C.

However, April is the last month with cool weather in Tenerife, after which the real beach season begins in the Spanish resort. The sea is getting warmer and warmer. As for precipitation, less than 15 millimeters falls per month, and the dry season will last until October.

Mallorca weather in April

The Balearic Islands, of which Mallorca is a part, are characterized by extremely long and sluggish springs. During this period, the weather is quite cool, but warming is already beginning to be felt.

April 2020 average temperatures in Mallorca :

  • during the day +14°C;
  • at night +10°C;
  • water +17°C.

Rainfall is also not so simple. The western Mediterranean is characterized by an increase in the number of rains from April to May. The dry season is somewhat postponed, but it is unlikely to hurt to have a good time in the Spanish resort. About 35 millimeters of rain falls per month.

Weather in Barcelona in April

The capital of Catalonia, Barcelona, located in the foothills, is somewhat colder than other resorts in the country. The weather in Spain in April 2020 on the northeast coast is damper and colder by about a degree than in the southern island resorts.

April 2020 average temperatures in Barcelona :

  • during the day +13°C;
  • at night +9°C;
  • water +17°C.

Barcelona is also characterized by a high level of rainfall, with rain occurring throughout most of the year. Only in July there is a truly dry period. About 50 millimeters of rain falls per month.

Weather in Costa Brava in April

In the Spanish resort of Costa Brava, an amazing stretch of coastline in Catalonia, the climate is almost identical to that of Barcelona. The weather is also warm in spring, clear days alternate with rainy ones, and the sea is cool.

April 2020 average temperatures in Costa Brava :

  • during the day +13°C;
  • at night +9°C;
  • water +17°C.

On average, on the Costa Brava in April, precipitation is observed every third day. Most often it is hoarfrost and drizzling rains, but there are almost no heavy showers.

Thanks largely to the Easter break and lower pre-summer prices, the idea of holidaying in April is growing in popularity with families, couples and groups. Read on to find out more about short and long haul destinations with the best holiday weather in April.

Short haul: Canary Islands, Turkey & Morocco

By April, the weather is starting to improve across Europe with more sunshine as the green shoots of spring begin to appear. The days also feel longer thanks to daylight savings, which normally kicks in at the end of March.

The eastern Mediterranean usually has more sunshine in April than anywhere in the west, so if that’s what you’re after then Turkey, Cyprus, and eastern Greece are the holiday destinations for you.

Bodrum, Marmaris, Paphos and Rhodes all have nine hours a day on average in April, while daytime temperatures climb into the low twenties.

Benidorm and the Costa del Sol are usually as warm but with an hour or two less sunshine, although April is still a very pleasant time in these destinations.

As is the Algarve in Portugal, Majorca, Malta and Tunisia. In April, the weather in these places is comparable, in terms of temperature, with the south of England in June, but with more sunshine.

Then there’s Morocco, where the weather is beautiful in April. In most places, you’ll be greeted with nine hours of sunshine a day and daytime temperatures in the mid-twenties.

The mountains are also beautiful at this time of year, green from the winter rains and dotted with carpets of wildflowers – this is arguably the best month of the year to go walking in the Atlas Mountains.

The weather in the Canary Islands is, however, not quite as warm or sunny as its eastern neighbour Morocco. Daytime highs range from 20°C in Lanzarote to 23°C in Gran Canaria – that bit cooler than Morocco thanks to the surrounding Atlantic – and there’s normally around eight hours of sunshine each day.

Long haul – up to 10 hours: Dubai, Caribbean & Florida

Dubai stands out in April for its abundance of sunshine and moderate temperatures, reaching a little over 30°C most days, compared with the dizzy heights they reach in the months that follow.

If you’re thinking about a beach holiday, the sea is also warm enough for swimming at 25°C, and you can reckon on 10 hours of sunshine a day.

Despite the approach of warmer, more humid summer conditions, the Caribbean is still excellent after the peak of the winter sun holiday season.

The sea has started to warm to around 27°C and, though there may be the odd shower, you can expect eight to nine hours of sunshine a day at destinations such as Barbados, Cancun and Antigua, and daytime temperatures nudging into the low thirties at times.

Florida also enjoys lovely weather in April. Miami normally has 10 hours of sunshine a day with daytime temperatures rising to the high twenties.

April is one of the driest times of the year in Miami so you may not even see a drop of rain. Orlando is as warm during the day but cooler at night and just a touch less sunny – importantly, neither destination is uncomfortably hot.

Long haul – 10 hours or more: Seychelles, Mauritius & California

South of the equator, the weather in the Indian Ocean is especially good in April, as monsoon winds drop while shifting from northwest to southeast, producing a lull in the weather.

In fact, April is one of the best times to visit the idyllic islands of the Seychelles, where daytime temperatures are hot, reaching 30°C and there are usually eight hours of sunshine a day.

Although rain falls most days in April, it provides a refreshing respite and the clouds quickly pass.

A thousand miles to the south of the Seychelles, Mauritius – which sits just 20° from the equator – experiences daytime temperatures in the high twenties, seven hours of sunshine and a sea temperature around 27°C, making it the ideal destination for an exotic beach holiday.

California is another popular holiday destination where the weather is usually very sunny and warm enough during the day to be out and about coat-free in April.

In LA, you can expect 10 hours of sunshine and daytime temperatures in the low twenties, though it can become a little chilly at night, so go prepared.

Whether you’re after a short spring-time break or a relaxing Easter holiday in the sun, April is a great time to go away to destinations both near and far.

For all data based on historical data, we’ve averaged the data from the past 11 years (2010-2020). For example, for the hourly temperature at 10am, we’ve looked at the temperature at 10am on every day in April (e.g., April 1, April 2, etc. in 2010, 2011, etc.) and took the arithmetic mean. We did not smooth the data, so for example, our daily temperature line will have some randomness due to the fact that weather is random in the first place.

    Weather in Rome in April

The April trip will be a good decision for those who want to enjoy the contemplation of the bright, cheerful and vibrant colors of Rome. It is amazing how his appearance and his own mood change with the advent of the sun and heat. Against the backdrop of a clear sky, verdant lawns, as well as a white and pink haze of almonds and peach, exuding dizzying aromas, the masterpieces of Italian architecture look simply amazing, and you simply cannot remain indifferent to them. Luxurious shots are definitely guaranteed for amateur photographers. Finally, the features of the subtropical Mediterranean climate are beginning to appear. Of course, in Central Italy it is somewhat cooler than in South, nevertheless, the separation of the temperature regime from the northern regions is quite striking. The weather in April in Rome is the best conducive to a long stay in the fresh air and sightseeing of numerous attractions. It can be very chilly in the morning, but, as a rule, by the afternoon the environment warms up steadily to +18°C. In the second half of the month, the thermometer is steadily creeping up, reaching the levels of +20..+22°C. Of course, cooling also occurs (for example, in 2012, weather forecasters recorded a maximum extreme of 12°C on some days), but unlike March, they are predictable and in most cases do not take you by surprise.

However, this fact does not allow you to completely abandon warm clothes: they will be needed on cloudy windy days when the sun hides behind the clouds (yes, it does not always please with its radiance), and in the evenings, accompanied by a rapid drop in the mercury column to + 7 … + 9 ° C. I would like to give a few words to the probability of precipitation. According to meteorologists, their volume at the “equator” of spring is significantly reduced compared to winter, but several days with drizzling rain, and sometimes thunder and lightning, are a must. So, as before, an umbrella remains a permanent attribute. It is not at all necessary to drag it from home: this product is sold almost at every turn, and at a very reasonable price. At the Colosseum, the entrance to the territory of the Roman Forum and the foot of the Capitoline Hill, sellers are especially intrusive. We recommend bargaining if you do not want to overpay 2-3 euros. In general, the rains pour into one “wet” week. But she can’t spoil her vacation, because the precipitation, although intense, is short-lived and does not fall several times a day, as before, but with a long time interval, which is often marked by an abundance of sunshine. By the way, dark glasses will come in handy. But for now, sunscreen will be superfluous, since the level of ultraviolet radiation is extremely small in order to lead to burns. By the way, this is one of the reasons why April in Rome is preferred by people who do not tolerate heat well.

What to do in Rome in April?

April is the forerunner of the high tourist season, so there is no crazy tourist rush inherent in the following months. The only exception is Easter week, when the city is experiencing an unprecedented invasion of pilgrims and inquisitive travelers who have expressed a desire to attend a festive Mass in the Vatican, the largest religious center of Catholicism. The weather in April pampers with warmth, and nature with spring colors. It’s time to explore the precious heritage of past eras, wandering the streets and alleys, and enjoy culinary delights at a table on the trattoria’s ivy-covered summer veranda, which looks like a cozy Italian courtyard.

    Entertainment and excursions

April is a delightful time in Italy, in particular in Rome, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. At this time, garden and park landscapes delight the eye with blooming azaleas, wisteria and daffodils, and orange trees acquire red fruits that fill the air with a magical tart smell. One of the most romantic corners of Rome is the Orange Grove of Savello Park, located on the Aventine Hill. From its viewing platform you can enjoy a magnificent view of the “eternal city”, so don’t forget to take your camera with you. Lovers of church architecture will remember this place for its ancient chapels and temples built in different centuries. On the square of the Knights of Malta, in the order fence, there is a Holy Hole through which you can see three states at once. Looking into it, as through a keyhole, you will see the dome of St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Maltese Gardens of the Order and the actual capital of Italy – Rome, belonging to the Vatican, bordered by emerald greenery. Equally noteworthy is the central hill of Palatine, the first among all the others to be settled. Here was the capital of the future Roman Empire with all its pompous palaces, triumphs and intrigues. Usually this hill is included in a single ticket along with the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. But you can get here on your own.

The main monuments of the Palatine are the Basilica of Santa Sabina, the remains of imperial dwellings, the terms of Siptimius Sevra, as well as the temples of Apollo, Victoria and Cybele. Do you have a couple of free days left, do not use to visit the other five Roman hills, each of them is interesting in its own way and belongs to the symbols of Rome. Just first, provide your legs with comfortable sneakers, because in model shoes such “hikes” are difficult. I would like to single out Pincho Hill as a separate line. Although it is not included in the coveted “seven” of Roman hills, it is no less significant and is one of the important points of the excursion program. Here they not only relax in the shade of trees, sitting on a bench or lying on the grass, but also visit the gardens of Villa Borghese and its gallery, shrouded in a veil of secrets and legends. Every square centimeter of the beautiful “eternal city” from beginning to end is a witness of ancient civilizations, each attraction is a multi-volume story. But you should not try to run around at a gallop all the objects of the tourist display, neither on the first, nor on the second, nor on your subsequent visits. Rome needs to be discovered gradually, its inspection does not tolerate haste and fuss. Otherwise, he will leave conflicting memories of himself. Evenings can be devoted to tasting Italian dishes in authentic restaurants or breaking away in nightclubs.

    Holidays and festivals

There are plenty of holidays and cultural events in April. Italians know how to have fun like no other nation in the world. On the first days there is a festival “Festa Della primavera” in honor of the meeting of spring. The main events take place on the Spanish Steps, which for this occasion are specially decorated with hundreds of planters with bright pink azaleas. One of the most anticipated April events is City Day, celebrated on the 21st.

A few days before it starts, a competition called “The Goddess of Rome” is announced. Its winner is honored to lead the Historical cortege. The festival includes a re-enactment of gladiator fights, theatrical performances, performances by artists, thematic exhibitions and a parade of racehorses. The streets are dressed up in bright illumination, and fairs with souvenirs and various delicacies open in the squares. 25th – Day of the liberation of Italy from fascism. Spectacular parades and demonstrations are timed to coincide with this date in the capital. But the main celebration of this month, of course, is Easter.

Exactly one week before it, on Palm Sunday, a festive mass is served in St. Peter’s Square, on Good Friday a procession is performed around the Colosseum, ending near the Forum, and on Christ’s Sunday itself, the Pope pronounces an appeal to the laity who arrived in the Vatican in order to receive his blessing.

What are the prices for holidays in Rome in April?

When starting an independent trip or going to a travel agency for a ticket, you need to keep in mind that prices in April are not as attractive as in February and March. Especially during the Easter holidays, when there is a striking jump in tariffs. To save a certain amount, book tours in advance.

We went once to Rome in mid-April. In general, even by the end of March it is usually quite warm here, around +16 .. + 18 ° C, but it still rains and more often cloudy than sunny, but I think it doesn’t happen year after year. Mornings and evenings are still cool. The weather, when compared with ordinary Moscow, is about the same as ours at the end of April. From clothing, take a windbreaker with a hood, a light autumn-spring type jacket, an umbrella, closed and comfortable shoes, and a warm sweater.

This is how they dress in Rome on a good day in April – Plaza de España

If there is little sun, the weather will be quite cool even at +15°C. If the sun comes out, it becomes much warmer than ours, but of course it’s still not hot. I advise you to wear sunglasses, as the sun is bright, but this, of course, is all individual.

What to do in Benidorm Spain in April

Benidorm occupies a number of amusing places one can visit during the winters. As the town itself is quite new, do not expect an old town and old buildings. The most popular destinations include:

    • Levante Beach: Known as the Sunrise beach and is among the most popular beaches of Benidorm. It is conveniently placed near the developed part of the city, making it easier for the people to visit the nearby shops and restaurants.
    • Poniente Beach: The largest beach of the city with numerous facilities available for the people who are visiting. Generally less crowded than the Levante beach.
    • Tapas Alley: A place that has it all when it comes to food. Offers cuisines from around the world including Chinese, Italian, English, and Indian etc. The place is a must-visit for non-Spanish visitors.
    • Terra Mítica: One of the largest theme parks in Spain. The park is beautifully designed to highlight the importance of ancient civilizations like Egypt, Rome and Greece.
    • Balcón del Mediterráneo: A white marbled terrace placed on the edge of the sea, overlooking the miraculous views of Benidorm’s modern skyline. The place was once a site of Benidorm’s Castle.
    • La Cruz de Benidorm: The place had religious significance back in the old days but later grew into a popular tourist destination as people came by to grasp the sight of the wooden cross. The cross was later replaced by a more permanent monument.

Relative humidity can change a lot in Benidorm during the day and night, as it changes when the amount of moisture changes and, but also when the temperature changes. Menorca, Spain – April Weather

What’s The Weather Like in Menorca in April

The weather continues to get warmer and drier in Menorca, Balearic Islands (Spain) in April, when the spring season is in full swing.

Is It Good To Visit Menorca In April?

April is a great time to visit the island if you want mild temperatures, plenty of daily sunshine and aren’t worried about the odd shower spoiling your holiday.

    Is Menorca Warm In April?

In April, the average temperature for Menorca starts off at 13°C and gradually increases until it reaches 15.5°C by the end of the month. Daily highs and lows follow the same pattern, rising from 16°C to 19°C and from 10°C to 12°C, respectively, as the month develops.

Hottest and Coldest Aprils In Menorca

The coldest April day in Menorca that’s ever been recorded was in 1976, when temperatures as low as 1.6°C were registered. On the other hand, the hottest was in 2012, when temperatures reached as high as 27. 7°C.

Does It Rain In Menorca In April?

Throughout April, Menorca is subject to an average of 48mm of rainfall that’s slightly more than in March. This rainfall is spread out between an average of 11 rainy days, which means there is a very good chance that you’ll get a drop of the wet stuff during your holiday.

Average Sunshine Hours and Sea Temperature

Menorca boasts an average of ten hours of sunshine each day. With so many hours of sunshine to enjoy every day, you’ll have plenty of time to get out and explore. Taking a dip in the sea is probably out of the question, with an average seawater temperature of only 16°C.

    Is Menorca Windy In April?

With the nickname The Windy Island, you’d expect Menorca to be reasonably blustery throughout the year. In April, average wind speeds vary between light air to moderate breezes, rarely rising to a strong breeze.

    Menorca Hotels in April

Couples who want to stay close to the beach during their holiday in Menorca should check out Sa Barrera. This adults-only hotel is found just a stone’s throw away from the beach, which means that many of the rooms come with fantastic sea views. The rooms which don’t boast sea views come with pool or resort views. Here you’ll find accommodation in the form of standard double rooms and standard twin rooms, all of which feature air conditioning, plasma TVs and free WiFi access. There is a small selection of services and facilities available for guests to enjoy, including garden, swimming pool, restaurant and bar.

When it comes to affordable luxury, Hotel San Miguel is tough to beat. Located in the heart of the island’s capital, this hotel is surrounded by cafes, bars, shops and attractions, making it a great base for exploring. Here guests can choose between single, standard double and superior double rooms, providing something for all budgets. There are all sorts of amenities and services at the disposal of guests, including 24-hour reception and concierge, bar, restaurant, lounge, patio and free internet access.

The four-star Hotel Cala Galdana & Villas d’Aljandar is another great choice when it comes to budget-friendly luxury. Just a short walk away from the beach as well as the centre of the resort, you’ll never be stuck for something to do here. Accommodation is available in the form of double rooms, apartments, luxury studios and family rooms, guaranteeing something for all tastes, budgets and group sizes. Onsite services and facilities are extensive and include bars, restaurants, loungers, swimming pools, gym, daytime and evening entertainment, as well as half-board and full-board options.

    Menorca Beach for April

The beach at Cala en Porter is protected by cliffs, making it a great place to spend the day if the weather is a bit windy. Here you’ll find soft golden sands which gently slope into clear and shallow waters, providing the ideal place for children to play and swim. There are plenty of services and facilities for visitors to enjoy onsite, including sun loungers, parasols, pedalo hire, toilets, bars, restaurants, souvenir shop, mini market and lifeguards. There is also free parking available nearby, but it gets filled up very quickly, so make sure you arrive early if you’re travelling by car.

Son Bou is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Menorca. This golden sandy bay stretches on for more than 2km, which means the kids will always have plenty of space to play and you’ll never have to compete with other holidaymakers to find the perfect spot to lie down your towel. Like the beach at Cala en Porter, the sands at Son Bou also gently slope into the water, making them perfect for little ones to splash about in.

Be warned the sea can sometimes be rough here, so keep an eye out for the lifeguard changing the flag from green (safe to swim) to yellow (be careful when swimming) or red (no swimming allowed) if you want to stay safe. A number of bars and restaurants line the beach, so you’ll never be stuck when lunchtime rolls around and there is a handful of services and amenities available onsite, including sun bed and lounger rental, as well as a selection of water sports.

Just west of Son Bou, you’ll find the Santo Tomas Beaches. These two bays are the highlights of the resort and are known for their picture-perfect golden sand which gives way to clean and clear waters just begging to be swam in. You’ll find the usual beach facilities here, including sun beds and shades which are available to rent, lifeguards and water sports. When you’ve had enough of working on your tan, explore the promenade behind the beach which is teeming with bars, restaurants, excursion kiosks, tennis courts, mini golf courses and children’s play areas, providing you with plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

    Bars and Restaurants

Couples looking for somewhere to enjoy a romantic meal should consider spending the evening at Puig de Sa Roca. This family-run restaurant goes all out when it comes to decorations, with candlesticks and rose petals adorning each table. The menu is full of modern dishes, with a great variety of local and international options. Whether you’re into seafood, meat or vegetable-based dishes, there is such a wide assortment of choices available that you’re sure to find the perfect meal to suit you and your palate.

For a true taste of Menorca, check out El Faro Restaurant. Here you’ll find a top selection of traditional Menorcan dishes, ranging from authentic recipes passed down through generations to modern recipes created by the restaurant’s latest chefs. If you’re dining on a budget, check out the Menu del Día (menu of the day) which provides superb value for money and lets you try some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.

Restaurant Ca’n Santi is perfect for diners with large appetites. This restaurant is found on the coastline in Punta Prima and is known for its generous portions, so think hard about how hungry you are before you order both a starter and a main! All the food is made fresh to order, so although you might have to wait a little longer than at some other restaurants, it’s definitely worth it to be able to enjoy top quality food. If you’re not sure what to order, check out the fish and seafood dishes they’re the most popular.

Open from Thursday to Sunday from 6pm until late, Budha Lounge Cafe is a top place to pop into if you’re in the mood for a late drink. Here you’ll find a well-stocked bar full of local and international beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails, all of which can be enjoyed whilst you listen to the latest hits played by the resident DJ. If you’re feeling a bit peckish, there is also a lengthy menu available, with loads of Spanish dishes, such as filled baguettes and tapas.

Things to do in Menorca in April

History buffs won’t want to miss the chance to visit Ses Voltes (the Arches) during their holiday in Menorca. This popular tourist attraction is located in Ciutadella and is a great place to while away a morning or afternoon. You can easily loose a few hours here wandering around the streets which are lined with beautiful buildings to admire. There are plenty of shops to pop into, as well as traditional tapas bars where you can stop for a bite to eat and something to drink. If you’re looking for a unique gift or souvenir, be sure to stop by the handmade soap shop.

If you want to find out even more history about the local area, visit the Municipal Museum of Ciutadella es Bastio de sa Font. Built in 1677, the museum building is home to a bastion which was used to protect the entrance gates in the Medieval walls which encircled the city. Inside you’ll find a number of large rooms with giant limestone vaults which were originally used as storage places for tithes. There is also a permanent exhibition which guides you through the history of Menorca, all the way from the Prehistoric Age to the Paleo-Christian and Muslim Period, up to the Aragon Crown in 1287. You’ll find all sorts of interesting items to admire, including kitchen utensils, jewellery and combs. Temporary exhibitions are also set up throughout the year, dedicated to palaeontology, archaeology, ethnography and history, providing something for everyone to enjoy.

Bigfoot Menorca is the perfect excursion company for adrenaline junkies looking for their next high-thrills experience. This group offers a vast assortment of activities and tours, guaranteeing something for everyone to enjoy whatever their age or interests. Some of the activities currently available are diving, flyboarding, snorkelling, kayaking, stand up paddling, sailing, mountain biking, horse riding and paragliding. If you want to be certain you’ll be able to do your chosen activity, make a reservation on the website before your holiday to secure your place.

Menorca is packed full of interesting things to see and one of the best way to ensure you don’t miss out on a single thing is to sign up for a Coast to Coast excursion. This trip takes in the best that Menorca has to offer, including Playas de Fornells where you’ll see all sorts of cacti, the sleepy fishing village or Fornells in the north of the island and Es Mercadal in the centre which is known for its handicraft shops and exhibition centres. Then it’s on to Sant Patrici where you can buy some local cheese and take it easy on the beach. The last stop is Son Martorellet, where you’ll get to see the island’s famous horse stables and a Menorcan dressage show. The excursion is available from 17 different resorts throughout the island and lasts one whole day.

Menorca Weather , Forecast and Tips

Everyone wants to wish the weather perfect for their holiday but being prepared is even better. So just what is it like in April , May and October for that last sun before winter? The weather in Menorca during the summer season is generally dry with a cooling breeze. Menorca enjoys over 300 days with sunshine a year and it is rare for a day to be without some sunshine.

2019 – The weather resports in the Mediteranen area and specifically from personal experience, Menorca has in the last 5 years not been following historical weather patterns of 10 or years ago – due to position of the JetStream. It is getting hotter , sooner in the year and there is more changeable winter rainfall.

    April Weather

Spring time ( late March to April ) is a wonderful time to visit the island. Before the heat of the summer lies across the island, the air is lighter, the views sharper as if the winter has “cleaned the air” and of course the spring colours make the landscape so much more vivid.

You will find the temperatures significantly warmer and sun more intense than back home.

April is great for under the sky activities such as kayaking, horseriding, walking and cycling – Activities All year. It’s also a great time to explore Menorca’s towns and villages and enjoy (lower priced ) outdoor lunches with the sun in your face.

    Menorca in Spring

    May Sunshine

May is when the temperatures really start to rise. The weather in May can be fabulous, certainly T-shirt and tanning warm, but take a light jacket for the evenings. The sea will not yet have warmed up from winter temperature lows but make for a refreshing swim in less suncream tainted waters of high summer. That said most beach waters are shallow so water heats up so children don’t get cold.

    October time

The seas are very often warmer in October than in April or May as the summer sun has warmed up the waters all summer Many charts on the internet will quote October as the wettest month but they tend to be old data and its relative anyway with just 9 days on average. In any event Menorca will rarely have a full day of rain except in Winter ( dec-jan ) , so showers will usually clear up into sunny skies quickly.

    July and August Holidays

The peak summer holidays period will range up to high 30s on hottest days though the frequent breeze makes it more comfortable. Never ever under estimate the sun’s strength here, lots of sun cream – the summer breezes will deceive you.

    Our Weather Tips

Some practical advice form years of personal experience. Having no significant mountains to trap and attract them most localised clouds will generally clear up before 2pm That’s our bench mark.

Want a good (and safer) tan?

The sun is much musch stronger here due to sorthern location. For a lasting brown tan, rather than a pink glow sunbathe the first few days longer early morning and after 16:00 upto sunset -picnic on the beach! Your skin will be better too!

    …some myths

What’s this about Menorca being called the windy island? Well to correct any holiday maker concerns it’s just like any other small island in the middle of a lot of water with huge land masses that heat up/cool off north and south of it – there will be some wind! This is actually good news because in Summer during the day there is generally a very pleasant light cooling breeze rather than heavy stale hot air. However don’t let the summer breeze fool you into using less suncream!

The “bad winds” are in winter because Africa is hot compared to Europe so north winds will come in off the water from colder southern Europe and there is no natural protection off the north coast just open water.

    Practical advice

Evenings. It might chill as the breeze picks up so always pack one thin but warming clothing item to take out if you want to stay outside ’till very late.

    Visiting Ibiza In October

    View this post on Instagram

A post shared by mikky (@mikkykiemeney)

Traveling to Ibiza in October is almost the same as in May. The nightlife and the beach season are coming to an end. The weather is also changing, with temperatures continuing to drop slowly by slowly. While some days, travelers may experience splendid temperatures, there are a few days that the weather will be the opposite. Visiting Ibiza in October is never an option for travelers looking to enjoy sunbathing and hot night parties.

    • Why October is the best month to visit Ibiza: Lower prices, no crowds
    • Why it is the worst time to visit Ibiza: No partying, the temperature is not splendid

    November-April

November through April is the low season, and all the partying and clubbing are out of the city. Temperatures at this time of the year fluctuate with an average ranging from the 40s to 50s. Although travelers will struggle to find accommodation, a club, and a restaurant to dine at, especially in December through February, some good deals are guaranteed where they’ll find a hotel.

    • Key Events: Patrimoni Gastronomic Festival (February), Semana Santa (March-April), Ibiza Half-Marathon (April).

May through October is the best time of the year to visit and explore Ibiza since travelers have so much to experience; nightlife, events, splendid weather, and sightseeing.

    About

Ibiza enjoys a mild winter with temperatures hovering around an average of 15°C from October to April, and during the summer months temperatures can reach into the 30’s. The coastal areas benefit from refreshing sea breezes, whereas it can get very humid within the protective walls of Dalt Vila (the old town).

The climate here is typically Mediterannean with little variation, being warm and mild throughout the whole year. The sea temperature sits around 20ºC meaning beach weather usually lasts around seven months from May to November.

    Best time to visit

The best time to visit the island to avoid the crowds, but still enjoy the best of the weather, is between the middle of April and first week of June, before all the school holidays! It becomes warm enough to lie on the beach and go for swim in early May, when you can expect long sunny days.

    Monthly temperatures

The weather in Ibiza remains warm throughout the year with average nighttime lows dropping to around 11ºC in December and January. The summer months, July and August, can see temperatures reach 40ºC, although the averages are around 30ºC. With sunshine hours reaching double figures, sea temperatures in the mid-20ºC’s and barely any rainy days, it’s no wonder that Ibiza is the perfect choice for a summer holiday.

With lower temperatures from between 8-15ºC in the winter months, it’s a perfect time for outdoor activities and exploring the Ibizan countryside. In April, the island takes on a spring-like air and the beach clubs begin to open as temperatures increase. Once into June, July and August expect those hot days and warm nights, with the occasional cooling sea breeze. Then as autumn rolls around in September, there’s more cloud cover, but still enjoyable temperatures of 20ºC.

    Rainfall

On average Ibiza has around 421. 1mm of rainfall per year, which equates to an average of 35.1mm per month. However there at least 61 days per year with more than 0.1 mm of rainfall (precipitation). July is the driest month with average monthly precipitation recorded at 5.7mm. The wettest weather normally occurs in October when the island can see an average of 66.2 mm of rainfall.

    Sunshine hours

Minimum daily sunshine hours also occur during the winter months when you can expect around five hours of sun every day. However this rises dramatically during the summer months and averages at around 11 hours sunshine a day.

Climate and Weather – Weather in Ibiza

Ibiza is well-placed weather wise. This Spanish party island is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, 80km (50 miles) from the Spanish coastal town of Valencia. Ibiza is part of the Balearic Islands and its Catalan name is Evissa. Ibiza enjoys a Mediterranean climate with cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The main attractions in Ibiza are the summer parties, which attract DJs and party-goers from across the globe, but it also has a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites– low-key islands like Minorca can’t match the festive atmosphere of Ibiza and Mallorca. Ibiza rises a mere 450m (1,480 feet) above sea level at its highest point – Sa Talaiassa. The weather in Ibiza is constant across the island.

Ibiza’s Mediterranean climate means that the island enjoys perfect beach and party weather in Summer, while average winter temperatures dip to a mild 11 degrees Celsius (52 degrees Fahrenheit) at their lowest. Ibiza follows the northern hemisphere’s weather patterns. Spring runs from March to May, summer in Ibiza is enjoyed in June, July, August and September. Summer is also peak tourist season in Ibiza. Autumn lasts from October to November, with October experiencing the wettest weather in Ibiza. Winter in Ibiza is mild and lasts from December to February.

The average temperature in Ibiza during summer ranges from 18 to 30°C (64 to 86°F). Summer is also the driest time of year in Ibiza with less than ten days of rain throughout all of the summer months. Winter temperatures in Ibiza drop to between 8 and 19°C (46 to 66°F). As with most Mediterranean countries winter is also the rainy season in Ibiza. Ibiza’s climate and weather are best enjoyed in the summer when holidaymakers can enjoy lots of sunshine, warmth and relaxation. Autumn and spring are great times to go to Ibiza for those wishing to avoid the party scene. The weather in Ibiza during spring and autumn is perfect for sightseeing and beach activities.

Ibiza Town is the main place to be on Ibiza, it is a hub of activity regardless of the weather. Ibiza Town is well known for its parties and the party atmosphere. Sea temperatures on the shores of Ibiza range from 14°C, in winter, to 26°C during the peak summer months (57 to 79°F). The Mediterranean climate in Ibiza, and its ideal location, mean that this Spanish island enjoys up to 11 hours of sunshine during mid-summer, but only half that amount during the winter season in Ibiza.

When is the best time to go to Ibiza

The climate in Ibiza makes it an ideal destination throughout the year, however the summer months are obviously more favourable for beachgoers and party people. Ibiza’s hot and sunny summer months, from June to September, are also peak tourist season. During summer beaches are crowded and accommodation in Ibiza and flights to Ibiza go up considerably – booking in advance is essential. Winter is not an ideal time to travel to Ibiza for those interested in partying the night away. However, winter is off-season in Ibiza, and thus the perfect time to visit the island for cheap rates and interesting sightseeing. Spring and autumn are also great times to visit Ibiza for holidaymakers who are after a less crowded, and less chaotic, holiday experience.

What to pack for a holiday in Ibiza

Most people booking flights to Ibiza are intent on enjoying the island’s reputation as a party destination. Beachwear and party clothes, and perhaps a light cardigan, are essential. However, Ibiza has a wealth of shopping opportunities: sunglasses, handbags, watches and designer labels as well as trendy boutique clothing are readily available at the swipe of a credit card! The best way to prepare for a holiday in Ibiza is to pack light and fill your suitcase up once you’re on the island.

When is the best time to go to Ibiza? | 2022 Island Guide

Certainly a new month to consider for the majority of Ibiza holidaymakers with a number of clubs opening 2 weeks earlier than usual following the manager of Ibiza Leisure association’s announcment in January. Temperature-wise you might want to pack a jacket and a pair of jeans for those chilly nights (average daily temperatures between 11°C and 19°C).

Our hotel doors don’t open until May this year, however we still expect a healthy amount of people to make the journey out for some of the early opening parties.

Traditionally we don’t hear a peep out of the superclubs until at least mid-May, however, with this year being a little bit different April opening parties have already been confirmed by Amnesia (Pyramid), Eden (Defected), Hï Ibiza, O Beach & Ushuaïa. You can find our guide to all Ibiza 2022 Opening Parties here.

In May the island really starts to awaken from the winter and we open up the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

At the start of the month things are still quite chilled with the weather warming up and flight prices super affordable. Average daily temperatures are around 16.5°C rising to 22°C by late May so it’s a perfect time for getting out and exploring the natural beauty of the island or hitting the beach.

n May the beaches are glorious and there is space everywhere! The huge crowds of the high season have yet to arrive so it’s the perfect place to chill out.

In terms of party spots the start of the month is when the bars start to open again particularly in San Antonio and this year we expect the majority of super clubs to at least be open over the weekends.

As the month goes on expect for the party calendar to slowly start filling up. The last week is traditionally when many venues have their 5-7 day week schedules up and running, including our own at Ibiza Rocks.

By the start of June it’s noticeably busier (but not quite as rammed as in peak season) so it’s a paradise for Ibiza veterans or virgins. Temperatures rise (average daily temperatures between 18°C and 26°C), the party calendar grows, but flights and Ibiza Rocks Hotel stay prices are still low.

Possibly our favourite month of the summer. It may not come into the category of ‘peak season’ but it always sells out and the dancefloors alwasy have an amazing atmosphere. June is when the island really starts to come to life and this year will be no different.

    WHAT’S ON IN JUNE

June is when our biggest day party programme on the island gets into full swing which this years features Joel Corry, Nathan Dawe, Craig David, Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago, Majestic, Jess Bays and many more.

You will also find a wealth of early season parties to choose from across the board as the majority of venues are operating 7 days a week although you will find a few one-off events and shorter residencies to fill in some of the gaps in the calendar so keep an eye out for those!

In August we’re talking the peak of the Ibiza season. The first week of the month is generally the busiest week in the calendar as on a ‘normal’ year, the famous BBC Radio 1 weekend lands.

Across the rest of August the temperatures are at their highest (average daily temperatures between 22°C and 30°C) and expect club nights to be full of atmosphere carrying on the momentum from July. Things get more international as Spanish and Italian holidaymakers join the mix so expect reggaeton and techno sounds to take over the schedules.

    WHAT’S ON IN AUGUST

A long-standing tradition, Radio 1 in Ibiza is a calendar date many Ibiza veterans will base their holiday schedule on. 2019 was all about Ibiza Rocks as we played host to both Radio 1 and 1Xtra for an incredible weekend of the best names in dance and urban music, broadcasted live to the world.

If you want to book for the Radio 1 weekend you need to be quick, rooms sell out early at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and across the island.

Outside of Rocks you may notice some promoters will run one-off events or short residencies in unfamilair terrority. For example, Elrow have tested the waters at Cova Santa, Calvin Harris has had August exclusive residencies at both Pacha and Ushuaïa and in 2017 household name, Disclosure gave their festival brand Wild Life the DC-10 treatment.

The summer may feel like it’s over when September arrives in the UK but those in the know will tell you that when it comes to Ibiza it’s all about September. Much like June things are less busy, everything feels more chilled, Hotel and Flights are cheaper and the line ups across the island start to get a bit more experimental. The only downside is that the weather can be a bit more unpredictable compared to peak season (average daily temperatures between 19°C and 27°C).

It really is a great opportunity to come back to close the summer in style. Even if you have been once already in the season booking a short stay over a particular party is ideal.

    WHAT’S ON IN SEPTEMBER

There’s very little change in terms of the clubbing calendar when September hits as the weekly residencies are still going strong although the crowds may get a little, but noticeably, smaller with the veterans holding out for the last 2 weeks.

Back end of the month it becomes all about the closing parties as everyone goes all out to end the summer with a bang. Closing parties in Ibiza are world renowned, think in-demand DJ’s, all day parties, after parties and more right through to the first weekend of October.

Best Time to Go to Ibiza

An Island for the Whole Year

The famous white island is world-renowned for its endless and tireless parties that control a good part of the summer season. However, this little jewel of the Mediterranean hides so much more than first-class nightclubs. In Ibiza, you can participate in many things practically all year round thanks to its incredible climate. You will not be able to bathe in the sun on the beach in some months throughout the year, but you can enjoy the island in another way. There are enough things to see and do in Ibiza to make a getaway outside of the high season (July-August) worth it.

    The Weather in Ibiza

The weather in Ibiza is a typical Mediterranean climate with four distinct seasons. Winters are mild, around 10 degrees minimum, and 20 maximum. It is also possible that some days, especially at night, the temperatures will be lower, but it does not usually happen due to its situation. Winter, together with autumn, is a season with a high probability of rain. But it rarely snows. If you are lucky enough to be in Ibiza in the middle of winter and witness a snowfall, take out your camera and take a snapshot!

Summer: Long Days and Short Nights, but Very Hot!

However, the summer in Ibiza is quite hot, while the humidity increases the sensation of heat, some days in July and August, you don’t want to go out at noon other than to go to the beach. We recommend that if you are on the island during these months of the year, you take many precautions with heatwaves, hydrate a lot, protect yourself from the sun, and avoid, as much as possible, the peak hours of heat that are usually between 12 noon and 4:00 p. m. Maximum temperatures in summer can go up to 40 degrees and rarely drop below 22. At night, we can easily find the so-called tropical nights in which it is difficult to fall asleep unless you have a fan or air conditioner nearby. Despite the high humidity, the summer months are the driest of the year, with little chance of precipitation. In summer, we will also find the typical summer storms in which a heavy downpour falls, but they don’t last very long.

Spring and Fall are Also Enjoyable

In the spring months, the temperatures are very pleasant during the day, hovering around 20 degrees on average. At night it is still cool, but not like the winter months. In the autumn months, the heat is no longer so pressing, and winter is giving way. Temperatures are around 22 degrees on average, and at night it is already easier to sleep with cooler temperatures. The spring and autumn months are the best for sports such as trekking or cycling. If you are a lover of hiking, you can see our article. Do you like to walk and take good photos? Els Amunts is your next stop!

The Sea Is Always Present Throughout the Year

Keep in mind that the Mediterranean Sea is not like the Caribbean Sea. You are not able to take a dip throughout the year, no matter the month. The sea takes high temperatures in the summer months, hovering around 26 degrees in August. However, in winter, the sea gets colder, and at the beginning of March, it has an average temperature of 13 degrees. If you are one of the most daring, during the month of May, the water is still cool, but it is already feasible to take a good dip, and you can practice some nautical sports. If you like to be like a fish in water, do not miss our article Water Sports in Ibiza that you Cannot Miss.

So, When Should you Visit Ibiza?

The tourist season begins on May 1st and ends on October 30th, although the high season in Ibiza is the months of July and August.

Summer is the favorite time for most tourists to visit the island, as Ibiza is lively and one rubs shoulders with famous people. If you are wondering when to travel to Ibiza and are looking for warm temperatures and a sun and beach vacation, the summer months are perfect. Of course, you will have to wake up early to find the perfect spot on the beach and not end up with the neighbor’s umbrella on your heels.

If you prefer to escape from the masses and have your own space, autumn and spring are the ideal months to not have overcrowding, for lower temperatures, and prices that are reduced very considerably.

Experiencing Ibiza without stress is much better. The winter months are ideal if you are looking for tranquility and low prices. In addition, Ibiza has other interesting cultural and natural attractions.
