Motorways in
the Madrid area

Madrid
is a maze of motorways, and unless you really want to drive into
Madrid, then the best bit of advice is “Don’t”.  The M50,
which is
just visible in the bottom corner of this plan, goes 80% of the way
round Madrid, and is the outer orbital motorway – and for this reason
less busy than the M30 or M40.

Most motorways in the Madrid urban area are free,
but the radial “R” motorways are toll, as are some of the M
motorways – but not the orbitals.

The Costa de Almeria is one of the most southern, warm and gentle climate resort areas in Spain. This is the youngest, rapidly developing and promising resort in Spain.

Grey-white sands lapped by the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, cozy bays and precipitous picturesque cliffs – nature has awarded the Costa de Almeria with two contrasting views of the landscape – a volcanic “Martian” and a natural “green carpet”.

The latter is represented by several natural reserves – real oases in the middle of desert landscapes.

Coastal mountain landscape.

During a break from beach activities in the main resort spots of the Costa de Almeria (Almeria itself, Aguadelce, Mojacar or Roquetas de Mar), tourists will certainly visit unique reserves of Cabo de Gata or Mondrago .

Costa del Almeria is a relatively young resort.

It may not be as popular as other Spanish coasts, but it also has a number of advantages: it is not crowded, the infrastructure is new and modern, stylish hotel complexes have been built, as well as multifunctional entertainment complexes.

Costa de Almería offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities.

Location of the coast on the map of Spain.

Contents

Costa de Almeria: information

  1. Location : Andalusian Autonomy (from Murcia to Granada).
  2. Length of : 217 kilometers.
  3. Climate : more than 325 sunny days, summer +27+28°C, water temperature +23°C, rains are extremely rare.
  4. Leisure activities : surfing, scuba diving, extreme diving, water skiing and scooters, parasailing, yachting, golf courses and tennis.
  5. Beaches : most of the beaches are Blue Flag certified for cleanliness, safety and respect for nature. There are both sandy and pebble-stony.

The coastline of the Costa de Almeria.

Main resorts

The four main resort areas share more than 200 kilometers of the beautiful beach line of the Costa de Almería.

Almeria

“Great Port”, “Mirror of the Sea”, “Beloved of the Sun” – these names from ancient times accurately described the nature of this beautiful, now flourishing in terms of tourism, city, the capital of the coast.

People come here who love not only to “cook” in the hot sun and “catch” the azure waves, but also to learn something new – here the ancient architecture is closely intertwined with innovative approaches to landscape design and modern urban planning.

Not far from Almería are the Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve and Mondrago Park.

Fortress in Almeria.

Aguadulce

A place for economical family holidays.

Quiet little resort town, where there are no noisy parties until the morning.

Instead – gentle sea, smooth entry into the water and uncrowded beaches.

Roquetas de Mar

A resort where luxury holidays actively prevail: VIP hotels, luxury villas and a high level of service.

Here you can visit the ruins of the fortress.

Another local attraction is the Sierra del Gador, a desert reminiscent of the American state of Colorado, where there is an equipped place for filming adventure films.

Mini-Hollywood is a theme park for fans of westerns, cowboys, and the Wild West in general.

Most of the hotels are located on the first line, there is no roadway between the hotels and the sea.

On the territory there are many entertainment centers with attractions, and good playgrounds for children. The gently sloping entrance to the water contributes to relaxation in this place, even with the smallest travelers.

Wildfires and Disasters | FIRE WEATHER AND OUTLOOKS TFS

WILDFIRES & DISASTERS

  • FIRE DANGER: FIRE WEATHER AND OUTLOOKS

Texas A&M Forest Service is able to predict fire behavior for certain areas and conditions. Texas A&M Forest Service Predictive Services staff develop seasonal forecasts that assist state and local government entities in preparing for upcoming fire seasons.

Among the critical factors (fuels, weather, and topography) of the fire danger and behavior, fire weather is the most dynamic and the least expectable. It is very necessary to know current and forecast weather for all fire coordinators and firefighters. Texas A&M Forest Service Predictive Services staff work with National Weather Service forecasters to determine areas of extreme fire danger by assessing forecasted temperatures, relative humidity and wind speeds.

In addition, conditions of wildland fuels are observed and used to calculate and predict fire behavior. Each region of the state contains a dominant fuel type—grasses, brush and trees—that Texas A&M Forest Service must consider when assessing risk. Factors such as the level of drought; percentage of rainfall; how quickly the grasses, brush and trees dry out; and how readily they will ignite and burn are all calculated and considered.

     + Red Flag Warnings

Fire weather watch or red flag warning is issued when the combination of dry fuels and weather conditions supports extreme fire danger. This alerts local land management branches about the onset, or possible onset, of serious weather and fuel moisture conditions that could cause rapid or dramatic increases in wildfire activity.

When a Red Flag Warning or Fire Weather Watch is issued, the Fire Weather layer color of the NORR Fire Weather maps turns red or orange. Depending on the weather operating plan of Texas, Red Flag criteria are vary from region to region.  For investigating local weather conditions, please check out the TICC – Fire Weather website.

+ Texas Remote Automated Weather Stations

All fire managers and fire weather forecasters rely on weather data from Remote Automated Weather Stations. These weather stations complete with satellite uplink capabilities provide crucial information for state and national datasets. The data is used to produce a number of daily products, such as Daily Fire Danger Forecast, Drought Index and Current Fuel Moisture maps. Texas A&M Forest Service Predictive Services staff use more than 80 RAWS throughout the state of Texas. Detailed fire weather information for these stations can be accessed from Texas RAWS.

     + Fire Outlooks

Fire Outlooks provide an assessment of expected wildfire potential over periods of a week, a month or seasonal as required to improve information available to fire management decision makers. These assessments are designed to inform decision makers for proactive wildland fire management, thus better protecting lives and property, reducing firefighting costs and improving firefighting efficiency. Texas A&M Forest Service Predictive Services staff generate Fire Potential Outlook (PDF, 1MB). More information can be found at Texas Interagency Coordination Center.

     + Key Services

values.

Weather Monitoring at Toolik Field Station

Weather data has been collected at Toolik Field Station (68 degrees 38’N, 149 degrees
36’W) since June 1988. The weather station located at the field station was originally
installed by the Arctic LTER (ecosystems.mbl.edu/arc) and TFS assumed control of the
station in 2007. The field station is an ideal location for maintaining long-term
weather data, as it is located in a data sparse region and adds a data point along
the north-south transect of the Northslope of Alaska, following along the Dalton Highway.
There is year round access and a long-term pre-existing dataset. These advantages
make it possible to provide quality data – a often difficult achievement in remote
northern latitudes in Alaska.

To access the historical data from this weather station, please refer to Weather Data Query.

Data collected includes air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, wind direction,
global solar radiation, photosynthetically active radiation, barometric pressure,
precipitation, soil temperatures, lake temperature, lake depth, precipitation and
evaporation pan depth and pan water temperature. Most sensors are read every minute
and then averaged or totaled every hour. The exceptions are soil temperatures, lake
temperature, lake depth, and evaporation pan depth and pan water temperature which
are read on ten minute intervals and averaged every three hours. Pan evaporation and
pan water temperature are only measured during the summer months. For photosynthetically
active radiation sensor no attempt is made to correct for frost or snow on the sensors
during the winter months. As of 2008, global solar radiation sensor is equipped with
a heater and ventilation system to remain snow and frost free throughout the year.
Years prior to 2008, the global solar radiation was not kept free from frost or snow.
Please note this when viewing radiation data.

In 2011, a new RM Young “Alpine” anemometer was installed by Polar Field Services
(Ch3M Hill Polar Services). The anemometer is located on a 44′-tall mast and records
wind data at 30-sec. intervals. To access these data, please go to data.aprsworld.com/data/wind2g/current.php?station_id=TOOLIK.

For other weather data in the area, please see the NWS weather data viewer found here.

Best beaches in Tenerife:

Las Vistas Beach – Tenerife

Tenerife’s Las Vistas Beach is a world-famous destination for vacationers from throughout the world, especially Europe. The beach’s golden sand and gentle waves have made it a favored getaway for those seeking relaxation, spectacular ocean views, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Take a break from the island’s party playas and come here on your next vacation – you won’t be disappointed!

Why Visit Las Vistas Beach

Las Vistas, with its 850-meter length and 80-meter width, is a sun worshipper and beachgoer’s dream. It is a large, fantastic spot for vacationers looking to escape the swarms of tourists streaming onto the other popular beaches of Tenerife, where claiming a square foot of sand during peak season can be a challenge. Here’s what you can look forward to experiencing along one of the island’s most family-oriented yet highly commercial and touristically relevant coasts.

A Beautiful Blue Flag Beach in a Great Location

Playa Las Vistas is tucked between Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos in Arona, Tenerife’s southernmost municipality. The beach is known for its fine golden sand and has been given the European blue flag in recognition of its superior and well-maintained quality, making it one of the cleanest beaches on the island.

Ideal for activities such as resting in the sun and building sandcastles, the smooth sand at Las Vistas is combed through every morning to ensure that it is in excellent condition. The bay is also shielded from the open ocean by a breakwater on either end, which causes the waves to be relatively mild. This makes the beach a suitable destination for families with young children. However, parents should keep an eye out for large boats passing by out to sea, as these can produce ripples that build up to bigger waves by the time they reach the beach.

Apart from its safeness and top-notch quality, the breathtaking allure of Las Vistas Beach is enhanced by the presence of its very own artificial island, which features a fountain at its center. This fountain shoots seawater into the air, creating a scene unlike any other.

Accessible and Amenity-Rich

Access to Las Vistas has been adapted to meet the needs of visitors with physical limitations or mobility restrictions. A wide promenadealso connects the beaches to the neighboringplayas in the immediate area and runs over its entire length. Take a leisurely stroll along the seafront esplanade, and while you’re there, stop in at some of the many shops, cafes, and restaurants providing both regional fare and cuisine from across the world.

On the beach itself, there are three different snack bars: two larger ones on either end of the beach and one smaller one in the middle for all of those refreshing drinks and light bites. In addition, Playa Las Vistas is equipped with changing rooms, restrooms, and, not far from each of the boardwalks leading away from the beach, a convenient shower system that may be used to rinse the sand off of one’s feet. You will also find a Red Cross Center there, where the lifeguards are stationed. They spend the entire day moving back and forth along the beach, which contributes to an increased level of safety.

Moreover, there are seven different sections of reasonably priced sunbeds that can be rented out individually. A parasol is included with every set of sunbeds. You are also more than welcome to bring a beach towel when you go down to the sand.

Watersports and Activities

Holidaymakers looking for tranquil relaxation and those seeking the adrenaline rush of water activities can find both at Playa Las Vistas. Its waters are kept smooth and calm by breakwaters, making it an ideal location for activities like swimming with kids, snorkeling, and canoeing. You may also work on your tan while sunbathing or joining a game of volleyball, or hop on and off the inflatables that are stationed just off the shore at any time during the day.

In addition, the Compostela Beach Complex, which is located only a short distance away from the beach and can be reached on foot in a matter of minutes, is home to several local scuba diving schools operating in these waters. Las Vistas also has a wide choice of businesses that offer water sports and maritime trips. The Water Sports Tenerife kiosk is located right on the beach. They provide a variety of water activities like jet skiing, parasailing, flyboarding, flyfishing, banana boating, paddle surfing, diving, and snorkeling. Some of the additional activities that may be organized through them include sailing, boat excursions and rentals, submarine safari experience, whale watching tours, and fishing trips.

Dining Options

One of the best things about Playa Las Vistas is the wealth of dining options available. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, you’re sure to find something to suit your taste. For seafood lovers, the restaurants on the waterfront are a must-try. Here, you can enjoy fresh catches of the day, prepared in a variety of delicious ways. And for those with a sweet tooth, the cafes and bakeries offer an irresistible selection of cakes and pastries. With so many great places to eat, Playa Las Vistas is definitely a foodie’s paradise.

Rincon del Pescador

Playa Las Vistas is a world-renowned tourist destination for a good reason. The beautiful beach, vibrant atmosphere, and endless activities make it a perfect place to relax and have fun. However, there is one spot in the area that you shouldn’t miss: Rincon del Pescador. This hidden gem is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip, but it’s well worth seeking out. The restaurant specializes in seafood paella, and the dish is truly delicious, made with fresh seafood, and full of flavor. In addition to the paella, Rincon del Pescador also offers Canarian potatoes and an excellent selection of tapas. The garlic prawns are mouth-watering, and the sardines aregrilled to perfection. And don’t forget about the pizzas! The Margherita pizza is simple but delicious and loaded with flavor. So if you’re looking for a great meal in Playa de las Americas, be sure to check out Rincon del Pescador. You won’t be disappointed!

Friends Lounge Bar & Restaurant

Friends Lounge Bar & Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy some tapas and paella while enjoying the stunning views of Las Vistas. The skewers, most especially the chicken tandoori and chicken saté, are a must-try and the mixed grill is a great option if you’re looking for something hearty. The grilled fresh sea bass is also a delicious option, and of course, no meal would be complete without a glass of sangria or one of their signature cocktails. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, Friends Lounge Bar & Restaurant is the perfect spot.

How to Reach Las Vistas Beach

Las Vistas Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island of Tenerife, and it’s easy to see why. The sparkling gold sand and clear blue waters are simply irresistible. Fortunately, reaching the beach from either of the two airports is a breeze, regardless of your chosen mode of transportation.

From Tenerife South Airport

By bus, the journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Bus number 40 will drop you off at the El Camisón bus stop, which is around an 8-minute walk to Las Vistas Beach. If you’re in a hurry or simply prefer a more comfortable ride, taking a taxi is always an option. Taxis are readily available at the airport, and the journey to Playa Las Vistas takes just 14 minutes, so you can start enjoying the sun and surf as soon as possible. Of course, rental cars are also available if you plan to explore the island more extensively. To reach the beach, simply head northwest, follow TF-1 to TF-28, and take the exit toward TF-665. Whichever way you choose to get there, you’re sure to enjoy your time at Las Vistas Beach.

From Tenerife North Airport

There are a few different ways to reach Las Vistas Beach from Tenerife North Airport. One option is to take a bus. Several bus routes operate between the airport and various points around the island, including Las Vistas Beach. The fastest, which would still take more than two hours, requires two bus rides: bus number 20 from the airport to the Intercambiador Sta. Cruz bus station, then bus number 110 to Los Cristianos. From the last stop, tourists must walk or take a taxi to the beach or their chosen accommodation.

Another option is to take a taxi. Taxis are readily available at the airport and can get you to Las Vistas Beach in almost an hour. However, taxis are more expensive than buses. Finally, you could rent a car. Car rental companies can be found at the airport, and there are plenty of parking spaces at Las Vistas Beach. Renting a car is more expensive than taking a bus or taxi, but it gives you more freedom and flexibility during your stay on the island. From Tenerife North Airport, get on TF-5, take TF-1 to TF-28, then take the exit toward TF-665.

Las Vistas Beach: A Perfect Spot for Everyone

Las Vistas in Beach is one of the most beautiful places in Tenerife. The golden sand and clear blue waters make it a perfect spot for a day of relaxation. But there’s more to Las Vistas than just its stunning scenery. The beach is also home to various shops and restaurants, so you can find everything you need for a perfect day by the sea. There are even water parks more or less a 10-minute drive from the playa, making it the ideal place to take the kids. Whether you’re looking for a place to sunbathe or an afternoon of fun, Las Vistas is sure to have something for everyone.

Las Vistas beach – WhatsUpCams

Playa Las Vistas Beach is situated on the border of the Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos resorts. This is probably the best beach in the south of Tenerife. A road leading to Los Cristianos harbour is all that separates Playa Las Vistas Beach from Los Cristianos Beach. It has 2 Main Snack Bars and 1 smaller one in the Middle for all those cooling Drinks and Snacks, There are many Restaurants along the walkway by the edge of the Beach and also a McDonalds. It’s Sieved every Morning so the Soft Sand is Nice and Clean for that relaxing Sunbathing and Castle Making. The Bay is Protected by a Sea Defence at each end so the Waves are quite Small so its great for the children.

Review of Las Vistas Beach (Playa de Las Vistas) in Tenerife

If you want to have a good time and relax from your problems, enjoying the mild climate and beautiful nature, come to the south of Tenerife. The beach of Las Vistas, belonging to the small town Los Cristianos, is a great place to spend part of your vacation. Los Cristianos is located next to the bustling Las Americas resort. Here people like to rest and prefer tranquility and comfort. But this does not mean that in this place there is  only silence. Indeed, moving away from the quay in the direction of residential quarters and hotels, you will not hear loud music and will not encounter crowds of  tourists. But closer to the ocean you will see all attributes of the resort life: bars, shopping centers, souvenir shops, several night clubs and the luxurious  Las Vistas beach. About this beach, its infrastructure and hotels, located nearby, will be discussed in this article.

The “blue” arena on the Playa de Las Vistas

Playa de Las Vistas is one of the most popular places in the south of Tenerife, where you can relax during the day. The secret of the success of the beach is its size. In length, the coastline stretches for 850 m. On the spacious Las Vistas there is a place for all comers. Even in the hot season you can sit on one of the comfortable sun loungers or, choosing to save 3 euros, on your own towel, closer to the ocean. By the way, on the beach there are several types of sun loungers and awnings. Some are blue, the second is beige.

The feature of Las Vistas is not only its spacious territory, but also the concept. Here you will see places designed for people with disabilities. This is a zone with wooden flooring, special showers and toilets. You can also approach to  the ocean by the flooring. On the beach there are trained people, who will help everyone to “go” into the water and swim, sitting in a special amphibious chair.

Area for people with disabilities on the Las Vistas beach (Tenerife).

On Las Vistas beach you will find  golden sand with gray impregnations. It sticks to the body a little, and when the ocean breeze blows, it can be in your beach bag or backpack. But the sand does not stain your clothes and  personality things, and if necessary, you can easily shake them. But on soft sand it is convenient to move around. The entrance to the water here is quite small and comfortable. On both sides the bay is protected by breakwaters, so you will not see huge waves here and will  swim with comfort. On the territory of the Playa de Las Vistas there are showers for the legs and body, garbage cans with advertisements of Loro Park and lifeguard towers, among lifeguard  there are many girls.

In the high season on Las Vistas beach peoples is much larger

On the beach there is a public of different ages. On weekends, you can see many local people who spend time with the children near the water. If you decide to devote the Playa de Las Vistas all day, then you will not be bored here. You want to have a snack – at your service there are cafes and restaurants. On the beach is the  “San Telmo” bar , where you can drink a beer or order a cocktail, to try light snacks. On the beach you can listen to light music and admire the snow-white hotels and brown hills. And right in the water there is a fountain, which operates from underground sources. In summer festivals and concerts take place on Las Vistas.

If you want an active holiday, you can rent a catamaran or a jet ski and ride the waves of the Atlantic. Near the beach (in the western part) there are shopping centers and shops, where you can dress  the whole family and buy souvenirs for yourself, friends and relatives. For Las Vistas begins the famous “Golden Mile” and the zone of Las Americas. Also from here you can stroll along the ocean to the west, look at surfers, who conquer the ocean waves, admire iron installations on the shore and beautiful parks of cacti and other tropical plants. Going to the east, you will see the port of Los Cristianos and its vessels: fishing boats, ships, ferries.

View at the east part of Playa de Las Vistas

There are several ways to get to Las Vistas beach from the Southern Airport. If you have international rights, and your age is from 21 years, at your service car rental in Tenerife. By paying a few euros a day for using the vehicle, you can easily travel in it not only to Playa de Las Vistas, but also to the main attractions of the Canary Islands. If you prefer comfort, you can take a taxi transfer at the airport. To the services of budget travelers bus company TITSA with its green guagua. Buses No.111, 343, 450, 451 and a night 711 will take you to Los Cristianos station. Moving along Juan Carlos 1 Avenue, you will almost reach the ocean and soon you will find yourself on Los Cristianos beach in the port area. After passing it, in the next bay you will find the  Las Vistas beach.

Luxury hotel and lifeguard tower on Las Vistas beach

Where can you stop? If you like to live in close proximity to the beach, then at your service hotels Torres del Sol, Tenerife Royal Gardens, House Eloisa. Luxury lovers will appreciate the Mediterranean Palace, Sir Anthohy, Hotel Cleopatra Palace. For budget travelers, Nueva Mar Apartment and Apartamentos Vista Sur are suitable. Choose a hotel or apartments at the best price you can by, using the service Hotellook. Also the search engine located in the right column of my site will help you. Playa de Las Vistas  in Tenerife – is a place, that will not leave anyone indifferent. Come here and rest with pleasure!

Overview of Las Vistas beach (Playa de Las Vistas) in Tenerife

If you want to have a good time and relax from your problems, enjoying the mild climate and beautiful nature, come to the south of Tenerife. Las Vistas Beach , located in the small town of Los Cristianos, is a great place to spend part of your vacation. Los Cristianos is located next to the bustling resort of Las Americas. People who prefer peace and comfort love to relax here. But this does not mean that silence reigns in this place. Indeed, moving away from the embankment in the direction of residential areas and hotels, you will not hear screaming music and will not encounter crowds of idle tourists. But closer to the ocean you will see all the attributes of resort life: bars, shopping centers, souvenir shops, several nightclubs and a luxurious Las Vistas beach ( Playa de Las Vistas) About this beach, its infrastructure and hotels located nearby, will be discussed in this article.

Las Vistas Las Vistas is one of the most popular daytime spots in the south of Tene Reef. The secret of the beach’s success is its size. The coastline stretches for 850 m in length. On the spacious Las Vistas there is a place for everyone. Even in the high season, you can sit on one of the comfortable sun loungers or, if you decide to save 3 euros, on your own towel, closer to the ocean. By the way, there are several types of sun loungers and awnings on the beach. One is blue, the other is beige.

The peculiarity of Las Vistas is not only its spacious territory, but also the concept. Here you will see areas intended for people with disabilities. This is an area with wooden flooring, special showers and toilets. You can also drive up to the ocean on the deck. Trained people work on the beach, who will help everyone to “go” into the water and swim, sitting in a special amphibious chair.

Accessible area on Tenerife beach Las Vistas

Las Vistas has golden sand with gray patches. It sticks to the body a little, and when the ocean breeze blows, it can end up in your beach bag or backpack. But the sand does not smear, and if necessary, it can be easily shaken off clothes and personal belongings. But on soft sand it is convenient to move around. The entrance to the water here is quite shallow and convenient. Breakwaters protect the bay from both sides, so you won’t see huge waves here and swim in comfort. On the territory of Playa de Las Vistas there are showers for the legs and body, garbage cans with advertisements for Loro Parque and lifeguard towers, among which there are many girls.

There are people of all ages on the beach. On weekends, you can see many locals who spend time with children near the water. If you decide to devote the whole day to Playa de Las Vistas, then you will not be bored here. If you want to have a bite – cafes and restaurants are at your service. On the beach there is a bar “San Telmo” (San Telmo), where you can drink beer or order a cocktail, try light snacks. On the beach, you can listen to light music and admire the snow-white hotels and brown hills. And right in the water there is a fountain that works from underground sources. During the summer, Las Vistas hosts festivals and concerts.

If you are looking for an active holiday, you can rent a catamaran or jet ski and ride the waves of the Atlantic. Near the beach (in the western part) there are shopping centers and shops where you can dress the whole family and buy memorable souvenirs for yourself, friends and relatives. Behind Las Vistas begins the famous “Golden Mile” and the Las Americas zone. Also from here you can walk along the ocean to the west, look at the surfers who conquer the ocean waves, admire the iron installations on the shore and beautiful parks of cacti and other tropical plants. Going east, you will see the port of Los Cristianos and its ships: fishing boats, boats, boats, ferries.

There are several ways to get to Las Vistas Beach from South Airport. If you have international driving license and you are over 21 years old, car rental in Tenerife is at your service. By paying a few euros per day for using a vehicle, you can easily get on it not only to Playa de Las Vistas, but also to the main attractions of the Canary Island. If you prefer comfort, you can take taxi transfer at the airport . The bus company TITSA with its green guaguas is at the service of budget travelers. Buses number 111, 343, 450, 451 and night 711 will take you to Los Cristianos station. Moving along Juan Carlos Avenue 1, you will almost reach the ocean and soon you will find yourself on Los Cristianos beach in the port area. After passing it, you will find Las Vistas beach in the next bay.

Luxury hotel and lifeguard tower on Las Vistas Beach

Where can I stay? If you like to live in close proximity to the beach, then Torres del Sol, Tenerife Royal Gardens, House Eloisa hotels are at your service. Luxury lovers will appreciate Mediterranean Palace, Sir Anthohy, Hotel Cleopatra Palace. For budget travelers, Nueva Mar Apartment and Apartamentos Vista Sur are suitable. You can choose a hotel or apartment at the best price using the service Hotellook . The search engine located in the right column of my site will also help you. Las Vistas beach in Tenerife is a place that will not leave anyone indifferent. Come here and have fun.

Tenerife’s best beaches

A characteristic feature of Tenerife is that there are no private beaches here. All beach areas belong to municipalities.

Tourists and locals can freely relax on any beach they like, including the one that belongs to some five-star hotel. As a rule, fees are charged only for the use of sunbeds and umbrellas, although not everyone needs them.

Las Teresitas

. Its length is 2000 meters. Bright blue ocean water, spectacular palm trees against the backdrop of golden sand brought from the Sahara, as well as the picturesque peaks of the Anaga mountains give the beach “Las Teresitas” some fabulous beauty. Due to the presence of a stone breakwater, there are no cold currents and strong waves. This beach is ideal for families. It offers ample parking, parasol and sun lounger rentals, and free showers and cabanas. In the nearby fishing villages, a large number of small restaurants have been built, serving seafood and fish dishes prepared according to traditional Canarian recipes.

How to get to Las Teresitas

Las Teresitas is located northeast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, near the village of San Andrés. From Santa Cruz it is only 8 km, which can be reached by taxi or bus. The latter depart from the bus station on Avenida Tres de Mayo every 15-20 minutes directly to Las Teresitas beach (route number 910) or to San Andres.

If you leave Santa Cruz by car, you should again focus on this village and keep to the TF-11 highway. There is free parking near the beach.

Playa Arena

Playa Arena beach is the hallmark of such resort towns as Los Gigantes and Puerto Santiago, located in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife. It is covered with black volcanic sands, the healing properties of which are known far beyond the Canary archipelago. People suffering from sciatica, arthritis, osteochondrosis, back strain or fractures come here specifically to be treated with minerals and the natural warmth of the local sand cover.

Playa Arena beach

A chain of numerous shops and restaurants, stretching along the coast, perfectly complements this uncrowded and quiet recreation area.

How to get to Playa Arena

Playa Arena is located on the southwest coast of Tenerife, between Puerto de Santiago and La Arena. Buses constantly run between them and stop near the beach itself.

Getting from Los Cristianos or other cities of the island, you should also choose buses to Puerto de Santiago.

Los Cristianos and Las Vistas

The beaches “Los Cristianos” and “Las Vistas” have chosen the city of Los Cristianos, which has the status of the main tourist center of the island.

Beach “Los Cristianos” is located in the city’s port. It is covered with a fine sandy coating of a golden hue. The waters here are always calm, as the beach is protected from the ocean by the piers of the fishing and passenger ports. On the territory of “Los Cristianos” tourists will find a lot of pleasant surprises. Water activities and excursions of any kind, playgrounds and beach volleyball, as well as delicious and healthy fresh fish dishes in nearby restaurants – all this will appeal to even the most jaded traveler.

How to get to Los Cristianos

Los Cristianos beach is located right in the harbor of the town of the same name. You can get to the beach by public transport – most bus routes stop at Los Cristianos stops. True, from the closest stop to the beach, you will have to walk another 5-10 minutes towards the harbor.

Los Cristianos and Las Vistas beaches

Las Vistas beach is located in the bay next to the city port. This is one of the longest and most actively visited beaches in the southern part of Tenerife. It also has a stone breakwater that provides protection from currents and waves. The very center of “Las Vistas” is decorated with an impressive fountain composition. The coast is filled with a whole scattering of restaurants and bars, where a hungry tourist can order food and drinks, as well as temporarily hide from the scorching sun. Concerts and music festivals are often organized on the territory of this beach.

How to get to Las Vistas

Las Vistas beach is also located within the city of Los Cristianos. Having reached the city, you can drive to the beach by taxi, since the nearest bus stop – El Camisón – is quite far away. When walking, the landmark is the long alley Las Vistas, stretching along the entire beach.

Tenerife, Canaries. city of Los Cristianos – “Los Cristianos is a cozy resort with an excellent Las Vistas beach. The dragon tree is an unusual symbol of Tenerife. We looked at everything ourselves 🙂 Lots of photos.”

Good afternoon!

Since we were 4 times on the island of Tenerife and traveled almost all of it by car, all this could not fit in one review.

I described our first trip here

In the current review, I want to tell you about the famous resort town of Los Cristianos, its magnificent Las Vistas beach, and also about the unusual but famous symbol of the island – the Dragon Tree.

Visa, tickets, accommodation, car

In this section I want to tell you a little about how we organized the trip.

First, of course, there were flights . I always use Skyscanner to find the best option for prices, dates and flight duration. After that, I prefer to buy tickets directly on the airline’s website. The second time, as well as the first time in Tenerife, we were taken by the Aeroflot airline, from St. Petersburg it was a flight with a transfer in Moscow.

Housing . Also, from the first time to this day it is the Booking service. For almost 6 years of traveling, there were no complaints. Since the first time we did not yet know the islands and simply chose the cheapest hotel in the South, we did not have a beach. After that trip, after looking at many beaches and cities, we wanted Los Cristianos, and due to the combination of price and location, the choice fell on the aparthotel Costamar

Auto . Here, too, everything worked out the first time. The Canarian car rental company Cicar is a great service, price and fleet.

Visa . Once tickets were purchased and accommodation booked, obtaining a visa was a very simple matter. The application is very easy to complete in Spanish or English. The list of required documents is standard, there were no problems with any of the documents. They applied through the official visa center in St. Petersburg, the visa was ready in 4 days. Semiannual Schengen.

Los Cristianos

So, the second time is very simple and easy. Already familiar with the flight, with the airport, how and where to take your car. Even the city of Los Cristianos is familiar to us, since we were there more than once and on our first visit. But then we only came to the beach, and the city itself was seen from the car window, and now we had to live in it. However, we visited Los Cristianos every time during our stay in Tenerife, so the photos will be from different dates.

Los Cristianos is located between the most famous resort of Las Americas and Mount Montaña de Guasa, which juts out into the ocean. There is no pronounced border between Las Americas and Los Cristianos, but these are completely different resorts.

A fountain has been installed at the entrance to the city. This makes visiting this town even more pleasant.

The city itself is very cozy and beautiful. Spacious streets, benches for rest, all kinds of shops, pharmacies, souvenir shops, supermarkets, a huge number of cafe-restaurants both on the waterfront and in the city itself. Everything you need for your vacation is here.

There is a shopping center with a fountain in the courtyard

And through which you can go to the embankment by walking along the bridge over the pool of one of the hotels

On the embankment during the day you can see such a fire show, in such heat it is a very unusual sight

And there is also a concert hall Pyramid of Arona. Very handsome in appearance. Unfortunately, we didn’t go inside. Everything was left for later But I hope it will happen again

There is also a port in Los Cristianos from where ferries leave for Gomera. Here, near the port in the morning, there is a small fish market with a fresh catch.

On certain days of the week Los Cristianos hosts a clothing market, like a flea market. Pretty big. Counters with awnings are specially constructed for him.

Las Vistas beach

Las Vistas beach is in my opinion the best beach in Tenerife. It is simply huge, wide, well-groomed and accordingly clean. Here you can always find a place and at the same time feel comfortable. Even with a large crowd of people, when, for example, local residents come on Saturday and Sunday, there is enough space to lie quietly without worrying that someone will step on or touch you, since the distance between vacationers is convenient.

In general, officially there are two beaches in Los Cristianos, the one closer to the port is called Los Cristianos, and the next one is called Las Vistas. But there is no clear border between them, so in fact it is just one big beach.

True, approximately in the center there is a fountain. Have you also noticed how many fountains are here? )

It should work from the waves, but it never worked during all our visits. I think it’s an awesome sight, a fountain in the ocean. But also idle, it is quite unusual and memorable. I even saw souvenir postcards with a non-working fountain

And now let’s estimate the scale of the beach visually

As you can see, there is really plenty of space.

Grey-golden sand. The entrance to the ocean is gentle, but comfortable, at first a little shallow, the ocean burns with cold, but the African sun pushes you forward, for coolness you go further and the depth is already growing, and as soon as you feel the cold of the water again, you are enveloped in a wave and at the same time you are already completely in the water, in order to forget about the cold in a second and understand that you are comfortable and pleasant. In the water.. The contrast between air and water is great, so entering and exiting the ocean is a little uncomfortable

There are always waves here, always rising and then falling again. That is, you can jump on the waves and be knocked down.

The blue of the water and the power of the ocean are amazing here. You can admire these views endlessly.

And also a wonderful sunset, when you are almost alone on the beach, it’s gorgeous

A bit about the embankment. It is also very wide and long.

There are a lot of souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants all over, there is McDonald’s for lovers.

On the beach itself, showers and toilets, changing rooms. Area for people with disabilities.

Sand sculptures are often made. There is a volleyball court.

There are several free parking lots. But they are almost always busy after 10 am In principle, you can always find a place for free parking on the nearby streets if you wait. Well, or climb a little higher and park there. In this case, you have to walk to the beach. Nothing there yet, but back up the stairs, lazily

In a word, this is a gorgeous beach in a resort town.

Highly recommended.

Dragon Tree, Icod de los Vinos

Dragon tree or Dracaena draco is one of the symbols of Tenerife. Almost like the Teide volcano.

In accordance with the law of the Canary Islands, Dracaena draco is the official plant symbol of the island of Tenerife

You will find its image on souvenir postcards and in guidebooks. Before visiting Tenerife, I had never heard of him, and therefore, when I saw the image and read the information, I really wanted to see it in person.

This tree is especially special because it does not have traditional growth rings. Therefore, it is impossible to accurately determine its age. At the same time, it is slow-growing, and since it reaches a height of up to 20 meters, it is considered almost the most ancient tree.

The dragon tree has been the source of the so-called “dragon blood” since ancient times. When the bark is cut, sticky juice (the so-called “dragon’s blood”) begins to stand out from the trunk, which turns red in the air. It has neither smell nor taste. It is used in folk medicine and for tinting wines, as well as for making varnish for metal surfaces.

This unusual tree is located in the city of Icod de los Vinos.

From the city of Los Cristianos it’s about an hour drive one way.

One day it was cloudy and we decided that this was a sign to go, we didn’t have to walk in the heat, and when we returned it was already sunny.

Difficulties with parking next to the park where the tree is located, but we just parked in the city itself and walked around.

The territory of the park is small. The whole walk will take no more than half an hour. It’s pretty cozy in there though. You can sit on a bench admiring the plants, or look down on the ocean.

The tree itself can be seen from different angles. Even from afar, it is impressive in size. To approach the tree itself you need to pay 5 euros. But we already had a good view, so we abstained

Also on site there are cafes, souvenir shops where you can taste Canarian products (sauces, cheese), as well as liqueurs and wines. Buy various souvenirs or clothes.

Personally, I liked this walk. And although we looked at the tree for no more than 10 minutes, it was still interesting and informative. I learned something new about this unusual and diverse island.

And the towns themselves, located high in the mountains, are very interesting and varied.

During our trip, we passed a lot of them, when time allowed, we always stopped and walked, the views there are magnificent. And there is some such regularity of life, which helps to forget a little about the usual hustle and bustle, breathe differently, enjoy the moment.

Resume

Tenerife is a wonderful combination of beaches, architecture, regularity, unusualness.

There is always something to see, for every taste. I recommend the city of Los Cristianos.

And finally, a small bonus for ocean lovers.

Immediately behind the Las Vistas beach there is another promenade, more modest, but very interesting, where you can observe all the violence and power of the ocean.

Surfers often catch waves there and everyone who wants to take super shots

I wish you pleasant travels.

LAS VISTAS | Club vacation

First of all, we want to thank the organizers of our trip. After all, this is our first trip to such a luxurious vacation! Ideal climate, ideal temperature, for January 20-25 degrees is great! Unforgettable experience. Feature of nature, vulcanized terrain, as if we were on the moon. We also went to the neighboring island of La Gomera. We liked the tour very much. We will recommend everyone to stay on the island of Tenerife! And we ourselves hope to visit this wonderful fabulous island more than once!

Mustache

Moscow

The hotel is very good, good location – away from the hustle and bustle of Potong. Cleaned every day, 1 in 2 days change of linen, super service. We drove around the island 8 beaches, such as Coron, Kata, Kamala … we liked ours the most. They did a massage, the prices are inexpensive on the island. Special thanks to the personal guide Anatoly. If it was necessary, he ordered a car for free or drove it himself in his car. Was with us everywhere if needed. Asked what we want, organized everything. All excursions were taken from the host company: Fr. Phi Phi, oh Monkeys, an overview with the Temple of the Big Buddha, an elephant farm. The pool and jacuzzi at the hotel is open 24 hours, it was nice to swim late at night. Free sauna and gym. I liked the rest very much!

Tsukanovs

Krasnoyarsk

From 26.02 to 08.03 we rested in Plumeria in Pattaya. This is truly a piece of paradise. Firstly, the whole hotel is buried in flowers and greenery, the smell is honey-spicy, you just want to stand and breathe such air. The hotel has two large swimming pools, which is very popular with children. The sea is 5 minutes walk. In the morning the beach is clean, the sand is raked, the sea is clean, there are no boats, ships, etc. nearby. There are a lot of Russians on the beach, a lot of children, but they don’t interfere at all, everyone is happy to swim in the warm gentle water and play on the sand. Friendly Thais walk on the beach, selling fruits and all sorts of beach trifles. We had a very comfortable stay.

Gulko

Khanty-Mansiysk

Rested at this resort for the first time. My impressions exceeded all expectations. I did not think that I would be surrounded by such attention and care from the staff. The team of employees is very friendly and attentive, ready to help at any moment, at any time of the day. I visited many interesting places. Excursions under Tatyana’s chirping could be listened to endlessly. Everything was presented in a very understandable language and very accessible. In the future, we plan to spend our holidays with you guys! Thank you all for your care and attention! Good luck in your hard work! Good luck!!!

Chalykh

Tallinn

We had a wonderful rest. We would like to express our gratitude to the entire team. We were very lucky with the representative – Mammadov Ibragim. Very attentive, responsive, respectful. A true professional in his field. We will definitely come again for a holiday. We wish you prosperity and success in organizing recreation for tourists.

Evdakimov

Khabarovsk

We were the Vasilovsky family, we had a vacation abroad for the first time. We went in November to about. Tenerife. We settled in the El Beril hotel. Our room had a great view of the ocean and about. La Gomera. The hotel is clean, the territory, pool and jacuzzi are cleaned every day. We visited Teide Park, toured the island, tasting wines on a sightseeing tour. We went out into the ocean on a schooner, approached the rocks of Los Gigantes and jumped from a bungee into the ocean. On all excursions they were fed with dinners, treated with wine. We swam in the ocean, next to the hotel there are two beaches, black volcanic and yellow brought from Africa. Didn’t want to leave. Charged with positive emotions, got a lot of great impressions. I would like to return to Tenerife more than once.

Vasilovskie

Moscow

Have a great rest! We stayed at the Plumeria Hotel. I really liked the hotel. Visited excursions: Bangkok – looked at the Royal Palace, the Golden Buddha, the Reclining Buddha, watched from the tower; Sightseeing tour – the Temple of Truth and the Golden Buddha, carved on a rock; the island of Tien; Spanish party – I really liked the vocal performance, I was impressed with the dinner at the restaurant on the seashore; Fish market – stocked up, everything was prepared for us on the spot. The most impressive were the Temple of Truth and the Royal Palace. We joined the club membership, as we really liked this type of vacation. We have been to Thailand many times before on classic tours, but here you can feel a different level of professionalism. It seemed that we had already seen everything, nothing could surprise us, but everything was presented to us in a completely different way, we learned a lot of new things, got completely new impressions. Individual representative, apartments – now we want to relax just like that.

Tarasovs

Moscow

We were met by the representative Ruslan, special thanks to him, he accompanied us everywhere from excursions to a trip to the hospital (the child got sick). Apartments in Ariana are nice, 3 balconies, 2 bathrooms, spacious. Good swimming pool. We went on all the excursions with pleasure – the Paradise Islands, Saigon, the park of desires. Very erudite guide Vlad told all the most interesting and to the point. I liked the Win Pearl Park, everything is world-class (before that we had been to Disneyland, Port Avetura and other parks in Europe and we have something to compare with). We will definitely go again!!!”

Buzmakovs

Irkutsk

We received only positive emotions from the rest. We stayed at the Marylanza Hotel in a two-room apartment. We met in a timely manner and throughout the rest were accompanied by friendly, responsive and smart Igor and Denis, ready to help in any matter. Excursions were organized competently, interestingly, on a comfortable individual transfer. The room is wet cleaned every other day, towels are changed daily, the breakfasts are good, you can choose food to your liking. Very tasty melons, papaya, bananas, as well as local blueberries. Worth a trip at least once.

Reshetnikovs

Domodedovo

Rested at the hotel Altamira – El Beril, on the island of Tenerife (Spain) The hotel is within walking distance from the beach. Placed quickly, the room was a present: fruit, wine, juice. We had our own personal guide – Igor. Products on the advice of the guide were purchased at the Mercadona supermarket. The first time the guide showed how, what and where to buy, and then they managed themselves. The weather was just super (as we were told it was a velvet season) air 26-30 degrees, water 25. The ocean is just magical. We took 4 excursions – to the Teide volcano, an overview of the island, Laura Park, Siam Park. On all excursions, we dined in restaurants (included in the price). We used the services of animators – at our leisure we played ping-pong, tennis, squash, billiards, lotto. In general, there was no time to be bored. Rest was a success!!!

Bessonovs

Moscow

We had a very good rest. I liked everything – the apartments, and the individual representative, and the guide. We rested at the Green World Hotel, an individual representative – Eugene. We visited various excursions: we were in Vin Perl, we were impressed by the cable car, the bird’s-eye view. We also visited the Paradise Islands, went to take mud baths, tried herbal mud baths after the mud. We visited the zoo with a botanical garden. Since we are picky people, we didn’t see any minuses, we liked the attitude of the staff, everyone is trying, working to make our vacation a success, so that we like it. This is of course a different level of relaxation – individual. Can’t compare to classic tours. All issues are resolved easily and without too much fuss. Thank you so much for organizing such a wonderful trip for us!

Ushakovs

Reutov

Mist enveloped Teide volcano
with a shaky transparent veil.
The day promised to be hot.
In the distance, like a fairy-tale beast,
In the rays of the morning sun
The island of La Gomera loomed.
This is how our morning started…

We had a rest at the El Beril hotel. View from the hotel to the ocean, everything is clean and tidy. If there is a paradise in the world, then this is the island of Tenerife. We have never met a happier and friendlier people living there. And even richer and more interesting this TALE was made for us by an individual representative Bakhtiyar!!! As they said, leaving, our children: “Bakhtiyar!!! We will never forget you and this island…”!!!

Antonovs

St. Petersburg

We had a good rest… the hotel is wonderful, the weather is beautiful. We stayed at the Plumeria Hotel. The hotel is very good, there is a lot of greenery. If you live in a bungalow, it’s generally chic, next to the pool. And we lived in apartments. Who loves closer to nature, we advise the more mundane. We were in the Royal Club, of course everything is gorgeous there, but in my opinion, it gets stuffy there as soon as you leave the apartment, and in Plumeria it was fresher, but that’s in my opinion. The private beach also provides many amenities. We visited a sightseeing tour, liked the temple of truth, visited a crocodile farm. Tourists who are planning to visit Pattaya will certainly be advised to stay in Plumeria, here are all the conditions and the sea is nearby..

We rested at the ROYAL SUN RESORT 5 * hotel, on the island of Tenerife. Dates were specially chosen to get to the Carnival. Upon arrival, we were met at the airport by car, it took about 40 minutes to get to the hotel. We were accommodated quickly, there was a present in the room: fruit, wine, juice. In addition to us, there were 6 families, each family had its own personal guide. We had a guide Natalia. I would like to express my gratitude to her for always helping us in everything! I would also like to note the guide Alla, she led the tours. Professional with a capital letter!

December – it’s time for New Year’s fuss, time to think not only about
gifts, but also about where and how to spend the holidays. In anticipation
Catholic Christmas all over Europe there are holiday fairs where
you can buy traditional souvenirs, taste national
Christmas meals, listen to festive music.

Leisure with children

Those who are going to relax with children should definitely opt for FINLAND and visit Santa Claus ,
look at his house, ride a reindeer and dog sled,
snowmobiles, snowmobiles, skis. For accommodation to choose from – a cozy house in Lapland or a hotel in Helsinki . During the Christmas holidays, Snow and Ice Festival takes place in Kemi0078 ,
during which a snow hotel is being built there in kind
the size where frost-resistant tourists can spend the night. Besides,
It is worth visiting such winter events as the international “ First Snow Games ” and “ Rally in the Falls “, Ounasvaara Winter Games , “ Polar Track “, “ Santa Claus Arctic Golf “.

Alpine skis

Ski resorts CZECH are also a great choice. And those who
active, noisy rest prefers the charm of small towns,
worth considering a trip at Karlovy Vary where even in winter people bathe in open thermal springs. Prague
from 5 to 24 December turns into a huge fair: everywhere are held
Christmas sales, mulled wine and grog flow like a river, through the streets
mummers and barkers walk around. According to legend, it is on December 5 that St.
Nicholas, accompanied by an angel and a demon, visits families with
Small children. On December 31, on New Year’s Eve, residents come out of their
houses and raise glasses of champagne. All bars, restaurants, discos and
entertainment centers are open until the morning, live music sounds everywhere. On
Charles Bridge, standing in line, you can touch one of the statues
and make a wish that will surely come true.

nine0004

Holidays and festivals

LONDON will host a musical Christmas party on 14, 24 and 28 December
festival. Royal Festival Hall was created specifically for such events.
14 December – performance of the London Choir with the BBC Orchestra, in the program –
popular Christmas songs. December 24 is Christmas
works of the classics. And December 28 is Strauss Music Day with
costume ball. Gypsy music lovers should go at HUNGARY ,
where on December 30 in Budapest there will be a festival of music and wine, with the participation of
world famous Gypsy Orchestra and tasting of Hungarian wines. And in
New Year’s Eve at the Opera House – one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe –
there will be a real New Year’s Ball and a Gala concert with the participation of soloists and
ballet masters of the Opera House and foreign stars. And after a stormy
celebration, everyone will be able to plunge into the hot mineral
sources, of which there are so many throughout HUNGARY . GERMANY
before Christmas, Nuremberg becomes the “epicenter” of the festivities, where
opens the main Christmas market of the country – Kriskindlesmarkt – with
daily shows. After Christmas all the fun happens in
Berlin. Fans of unusual competitions on December 31 can participate in
carnival New Year’s pancake race, and in the evening several million
people from all over GERMANY gather at the Brandenburg Gate. Beginning of a New
year marks fireworks over the gates and the Victory Column. Next
day, those who woke up in time can again run along Unter den
Linden.
nine0004

In BELGIUM and DENMARK December – “ beer month “.
The largest Christmas beer festival will present for tasting
more than 75 types of beer in the Belgian city of Essen (in the north of Belgium,
near Antwerp). In Denmark, Christmas beer is sweetish
dark young drink – they start selling from November.

Exotic

Those who prefer climate change should think about a holiday for INDIAN resort Goa .
There in December – the height of the summer season. The temperature is usually
still does not exceed 30-32 ° C, and trips to the beach can be varied
excursions to spice plantations, elephant farms and other exotic
places. An excellent option could be a December vacation at CUBE .
The so-called dry season starts here in September and lasts until
mid April. The average air temperature will be 28-32°C,
water temperature – 24-25°C. Approximately the same weather awaits in December and
those who wish to travel at DOMINICAN REPUBLIC . Season
rains last here usually from May to September, in December
only occasional warm showers, air temperature +25°C. Also looking for
sunny weather and magnificent scenery, you can go to VIETNAM . The best hotels are in popular resorts Da Nang , Nyachang , Dalat . In December the weather in this part of VIETNAM will be excellent: +25-27°C. However, it is worth considering that the ocean during these months of the year is quite restless.
nine0004

A pleasant and relaxing holiday somewhere on the coast is easy if you opt for a trip to MALDIVES ,
where the main entertainment is eating in Chinese, Italian or
local national restaurants, karaoke and dancing by the pool, and
night fishing is considered the highlight of the program.

Is English or Estonian difficult? The whistling language “Silbo Gomero” will change that statement 🙂 Watch the video and listen to the most melodious language.

Hello World!
What only a person does not come up with in order to convey a thought to another, to communicate.
See how you can talk with a whistle.
The whistling language is ancient, the people got out on their own, because then there was no Atlasnet school,
where they just teach the languages you need. Why languages? Clear and clear here .

And after this video you tell me that English or Estonian is difficult?
Do not tell my headphones 🙂 !

And a little about the island of La Gomera itself.
Gomera is also home to the Garajonay National Park, which preserves unique vegetation. Humid subtropical laurel forests look the same as 65 million years ago, think about it – 65,000,000 YEARS!
It is easy to find tree-sized dandelions in the park (pictured).

A subtropical laurel forest looks like this –

You immediately remember the old program “Visiting a Fairy Tale” – a scary, magical forest.
Mountain roads are so narrow that two cars can hardly pass,
and two buses, this is already aerobatics. A woman is driving, her name is Maria.

Spain is very friendly to new residents, to live here it is enough to know Spanish,
which is much easier to learn than Silbo’s whistling language. At La Gomera, people speak Spanish when they whistle. nine0003 You can learn Spanish HERE. Atlasnet! Whistle with pleasure 🙂

  • Weather in Palma de Mallorca in May

Where does this data come from?

Weather data for Palma de Mallorca was collected from the MERRA-2 project from NASA, which used a climate model combined with historical data from weather stations around the world to estimate what the conditions were like for every point on the Earth.

For all data based on historical data, we’ve averaged the data from the past 11 years (2010-2020). For example, for the hourly temperature at 10am, we’ve looked at the temperature at 10am on every day in December (e.g., December 1, December 2, etc. in 2010, 2011, etc.) and took the arithmetic mean. We did not smooth the data, so for example, our daily temperature line will have some randomness due to the fact that weather is random in the first place.

Good to know

Hotel Rural Finca Salamanca Review, Tenerife

On a large, rural family estate in the Guimar Valley on the island’s sunny east flank with an impressive backdrop of the Izaña Mountains. A 30-minute drive from the south airport, in easy motorway reach and a short distance from the Piramides de Guimar Ethnographic Park. The hotel is also within walking distance of the small marina and black sand beach of El Puertito where you’ll find good seafood restaurants and coastal paths. A car is recommended for exploring the local area.

Style and Character

An immaculately converted and maintained country estate which began life as a sugar cane plantation around 150 years ago and is now in the hands of the sixth generation of the family. Cotton, coffee, tobacco and bananas were all farmed over the years but today it’s mainly avocado trees with a smattering of tropical fruits and splendid botanical gardens which complement the rural hotel. Built in hacienda style using locally sourced volcanic stone and tea wood, there are patios, terraces, an elegant swimming pool, and quiet nooks aplenty dotted around the bounteous grounds and gardens. With nightlife not running to anything more than stargazing and a game of bridge, this is the perfect de-stress getaway.

WWF

WWF is committed to building a future where human needs are met in harmony with nature. It focuses on 6 ambitious, people-centered goals: WWF’s work has evolved from conservation of species and landscapes to addressing larger global threats and the forces that affect them. Recognizing that the challenges facing our planet are becoming more complex and urgent. The new strategy puts people at the center and organizes our work in six key areas: forests, marines, fresh water, wildlife, food and climate. By linking these six areas with an integrated approach, WWF can direct all resources to protect vulnerabilities, species and communities around the world. Humans are at the center because together we can change the trajectory of nature’s threats and help secure nature’s capacity – for the sake of all living beings, including ourselves. To achieve its goals, WWF works to educate and influence people to make sustainable choices and decisions, including those who work in business and make decisions about the use of natural resources, and those who work in government and set policies that affect nature.

Journey through the city cave

While exploring the sights of Salamanca, you can visit the amazing cave under the temple of la Iglesia de San Cebrián, located on Carvajal Street. It is a dungeon with a beautiful vault. There is a legend that in it the devil himself taught black magic to 7 students, whom he recruited for 7 years. The price for this was the soul of one of the “students”. The cave was mentioned in one of his novels by the famous Cervantes, and then by other writers.

At the end of the 15th century, by order of Queen Isabella I of Castile, the entrance to it was blocked with stones. But in the 20th century, restoration work was carried out, and underground corridors were opened for tourists. In the summer months, on Fridays and Saturdays, one of them shows a performance and a light show. You can go on a tour here by climbing the 25 steps.

    Choose your accommodation type

Know that in Spain you will always find hotels, rural hotels, exclusive places for living and recreation, aparthotels, tourist apartments, hostels, including youth hostels, as well as all kinds of campsites. Each of the possible places of residence belongs to a certain category depending on the services provided and the corresponding characteristics. Simply put: hotels are the most common option and a very convenient place to stay for tourists. But if you are looking for something special for your holiday, we recommend that you look for unique places to stay, such as paradors or traditional hotels in each of the zones of Spain. In guest apartments and aparthotels you will have your own kitchen. At the same time, boarding houses, hostels and campsites are a more economical option.

  • Cars on a street in Valencia

Find out more about the hotel’s location and available modes of transport

Pay close attention to the exact address of your accommodation and choose according to your preferences. If you are going to be only in the tourist area or intend to get to know the nightlife of the city better, we recommend choosing the central areas for living. This will only allow you to travel on foot in most cities. Outside of the historic center and tourist areas, places to stay tend to be cheaper, and these areas often have excellent transport links to the center.

  • Friends looking for information on the Internet

Read the comments of other travelers

These are people just like you, they also travel to discover new places and enjoy the trip. You will find comments on any of the online booking portals, as well as in the sections of websites dedicated to the assessment of accommodation. When evaluating these comments, pay attention to the closeness of the publication date and the type of traveler who wrote the review. In many cases, homeowners respond to comments with helpful information. In addition, you will often have the option to filter reviews by country of origin, language, or even type of traveler.

  • Breakfast at the hotel

Check: what is included in the price?

Additional services may be included in the room rate. Check if the power is on, for example. Most often, the price includes breakfast or half board (breakfast and one meal), less often – full board or access to minibar drinks in the room. Also ask about other services according to your needs. In particular, this is an Internet connection or air conditioning in the room, meeting at the airport or transfer to the airport, laundry services, swimming pool or gym, parking, etc.

  • Hotel cafeteria clock

    Confirm check-in time

Check-in in Spain usually starts at 14:00 on the day of arrival. Check-in at hotels occurs, as a rule, at any time. However, it is always recommended to contact your future accommodation to provide an approximate time of your arrival, especially in the case of tourist apartments or if you plan to arrive later than 18:00. If you arrive at a hotel early and need to leave your luggage or use some services, please be aware that most hotels will provide all sorts of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

  • Case

    Please check the check-out time

The latest time you can leave the room on the day of check-out is usually 12 noon. If you’re planning sightseeing for the day, remember that most hotels have lockers where you can leave your luggage for the day. Sometimes, if the hotel is not too full, you may be given the opportunity to leave the room later.

  • Family resting in a hotel

If you are traveling with children

Many hotels in Spain (especially during the high tourist seasons) offer babysitting services, as well as children’s entertainment programs, which is an added advantage. Ask about these services when you make your reservation. You may also be interested in the possibility of providing an extra bed or a baby cot for the little ones.

  • Availability

    Hotels suitable for everyone

There are many hotels that are accessible to guests with special requirements, and there are many hotels with special facilities. As always, the best advice is to contact the accommodation being booked directly and ask any questions you may have.

  • Pet in the arms

If you are traveling with a pet

Before making a booking, please check if pets are allowed in the accommodation. Pets are most often practiced in rural hotels. In addition, more and more hotels of the category dog friendly appear every time. As a rule, booking conditions imply the presence of one pet per room. The usual requirements imply that the weight of a pet should not exceed 10 kilograms. Do not forget: you should always have all the necessary documents for your pet with you.

Remote work in the Canary Islands | Euronews

Christine Bay is a photographer and graphic designer. Due to the pandemic, she has been working remotely for six months. For the duration of the quarantine, the woman decided to change her house in Germany for apartments in the Canary Islands.

“When I call my friends, they say, ‘Oh, you’re on vacation there!’ But that’s not quite true – it’s not a vacation. I work here as usual every day. True, in a beautiful environment. Really – in front of me swimming pool and the ocean nearby. I do my daily work, and then I can go diving or take a walk somewhere, “ – says Christine Bay.

Kristin is one of many workers who have taken refuge from the coming cold and COVID-19 restrictions in Europe by moving to warmer climes.

“I think if I stayed at home in my apartment now and worked there, I would not communicate with anyone in this cold cloudy weather. I don’t know, I would probably get depressed,” says Christine.

The Canaries are a very famous and popular holiday destination. But the COVID-19 pandemicdevastated hotels and tourist attractions. As a result, the region will lose 16 billion euros of revenue this year.

Jaime Velasquez, Euronews: “The tourism sector in the Canary Islands has been in decline due to the pandemic. The regional government is now launching a recruitment campaign for 30,000 employees to provide them with an alternative source of income.”

It is estimated that about 40% of workers in the European Union have been transferred to remote work due to the coronavirus. The authorities of the Canary Islands are trying to convince them to move to live and work in a more attractive environment and pleasant conditions.

José Juan Lorenzo, director of PROMOTUR CANARIAS: “It’s about using all our know-how in the hospitality industry, in welcoming and caring for people, in order to ensure longer periods of their stay here. And the Canary Islands correspond to all these conditions.

Dozens of tourists came to this complex before the pandemic. Today, for many, this is a remote workplace.

Nacho Rodriguez, founder of REPEOPLE.CO: “Working from home can make you feel lonely. Especially when you work from home, because you don’t have the social interaction that you usually have in the office. And thanks to the co-living offered in Gran Canaria, you you can get the very best.”

In the meantime, these young people who moved to the Canary Islands during the pandemic and changed their usual boring office suits for comfortable T-shirts and shorts are discussing how to spend time after a hard day, enjoying the beautiful weather.

History of Lanzarote – Past, present and future

First settlers on Lanzarote

The second oldest of the Canary Islands, created by a volcanic eruption some 15 million years ago, Lanzarote’s history is nonetheless shrouded in mystery. Very little evidence of its early settlement has been preserved, however, we do know that the first inhabitants of the island were the Majos tribe of the Guanches, thought to have arrived there around 1000 BC from North Africa. The Majos called their home Tyterogaka; it wasn’t until the 14th century when Genoese navigator Lancelotto Malocello came across the island that he named it Lanzarote after himself.

Conquest of Lanzarote

In 1402, French explorer Jean de Bethencourt, supported by the Castilian king, landed on the island and quickly overran it thanks to the island’s hard-to-defend geography. The first Diocese of the Canary Islands was established close to Playa Blanca, and the island’s capital was later moved to the old Majo village of Teguise.

The Castilian Crown granted the lordship of Lanzarote and the neighbouring islands of Fuerteventura and El Hierro to nobleman Diego de Herrera in 1454, and it would remain a feudal system under him until 1812. Despite Spanish claims to the islands, they would continue to be attacked by French, Moroccan and British pirates.

During this period of conquest, the native Guanches of the island were enslaved and sold into labour by the Europeans. Despite seeking refuge in places like the Cueva de los Verdes, it is estimated that by the mid-17th century, only 300 Majo people remained on Lanzarote. The island’s population grew, new crops were planted and a market economy was created according to European standards and beliefs.

Volcanic eruptions

The following centuries were marked by instability, crisis and drought. If life wasn’t hard enough on Lanzarote, nature would intervene and make it worse: from 1730 to 1736, the island was hit by a series of massive volcanic eruptions.

For six years ash and lava spewed from Timanfaya and other volcanoes. This blocked the sunlight, covered up to a quarter of the island and destroyed some 11 villages. Much of Lanzarote’s archaeological remains were buried under the eruptions.

The event forced mass emigration of Lanzarote’s inhabitants to Cuba and the Americas, but those who remained would find that the eruptions had left rich and fertile volcanic soil behind. After a few years, the island stabilised again and the city of Arrecife began to gain political and economic importance. Its port made it a hub for commercial activity, and in 1852 it was named the new capital of the island. By this point, feudalism had ended and the Canary Islands had been designated a single Spanish province.

Beginning of the 20th century

At the beginning of the 20th century, Lanzarote experienced a commercial boom with thriving imports and exports and a boost in the workforce. New crops such as sweet potatoes, melons and tobacco started to be grown and economic growth began to attract more and more tourists.

Under the Spanish dictatorship from 1936 to 1975, the island kept a low profile and survived on its own resources. The fishing industry was found to be another promising contributor to the economy, but nevertheless during this period, Lanzarote experienced another large population exodus due to the lack of jobs.

Art and culture on Lanzarote

In 1966 the Lanzarote-born artist César Manrique returned from his stay in New York and settled permanently on the island. Inspired by its unique geography, he subsequently transformed Lanzarote into a cultural hotbed.

Over the following years, the island saw campaigns for the conservation of archaeological remains and policies in favour of sustainable tourism, aiming to attract more and more people to the experience its cultural wealth.
