Azores, Cape Verde, Madeira, Canary Islands – Llywindatravels 2022

I am a big fan of islands, and looking toward Europe from Canada, I found several islands out in the Atlantic that I’d like to visit, including the Azores out in the center of the ocean, and three groups off the coast of Africa, the Republica of Cabo Verde, Madeira, and the Canary Islands. These were all identified by Europeans during the 1400s, when the explorers we learned out in grade school, including Prince Henry the Navigator, took voyages of exploration into the unknown Atlantic. Portugal dominated the seas and world exploration at that time, and today the Azores and Madeira are still overseas provinces of Portugal. The Republica de Cabo Verde was a Portuguese colony, but is now independent. The Canary Islands are a province of Spain.

What these islands have in common other than their Iberian ancestry, is delightful climate. Even the Azores, that appears to be out in the North Atlantic, has a range of mild annual temperatures that don’t fall below freezing and rarely reach 80oF. Distance is the issue for visitors to the Azores, since flights are long, though there are direct flights from Boston–Wait! We should not go there yet.

Needless to say, our beach combing would be interesting on any of these islands. Advice for people visiting the Azores is to pick one or two places to visit among the nine major islands, as transport between islands is costly. I’d like to visit one of the smaller islands by ferry, just for the experience. My choices would be shaped by which airport we landed at, as Ponta Delgada, one of the major cities, is on the eastern edge of the group, and the only island nearby is tiny Vila do Porto. There is a ferry that takes about five hours. If our plane landed on Lajes, in the central group of islands, there are nearby islands that could be visited easily by ferry. Festivals on the Azores tend to be related to religious holidays, with processions and flower bedecked displays. These largely take place between Easter and the end of August. Carnival is another event celebrated on all these islands. Folk dancing and colorful costumes are traditional, and embroidery is a widespread local craft. Visiting during Carnival, Easter, or Christmas might be more crowded, but there would be lots of good things to see.

A ten dollar stamp from the Republica de Cabo Verde designed by the ecology-minded Austrian artist Hundertwasser.

Our next stop might be Republic of Cabo Verde, off the coast of Africa near Senegal. The best time to visit is in January and February, when the temperature mostly stays below 80oF and there is scant or no rainfall. Most of the annual rain falls during September, a month that might be better elsewhere. I first learned of Cabo Verde as a young stamp collector. Small countries used to issue beautiful commemorative stamps as a way to make money. Collectors all over the world would pay for unused individual stamps, blocks of stamps, or stamped envelopes (First day of issue covers). There are some gorgeous ones by well known artists.

Like many island groups, Cabo Verde has a number of endemic bird species (found only in this place) that would give us new challenges in our bird watching. As you can imagine, there is plenty of seafood, and even a small wine industry, which we would do our best to support. A good reason to support Cabo Verde by visiting is the fact that the country has made strides in decreasing poverty and building a strong economic foundation. About 30% of its electricity now comes from wind farms, and there is probably more to come.

Republica de Cabo Verde

Moving north, Madeira is a single large island and three much smaller islands off the coast of Morocco. There’s a choice to be made in visiting. The three warmest months are June, July, and August, when rainfall is lowest, with average high temperatures around 80oF. However, recent record high temperatures in these months reach 100oF, so you might want to accept more rainfall for a month with milder weather, perhaps during April or May when there is just over an inch of rain. The other months average three or more inches of rain, so take your umbrella.

I had no idea that Madeira was so popular with cruise ships. Madeira is the most-visited place in Portugal for cruise ships, more than Lisbon. Half a million visitors a year disembark from cruise ships. They go on walks that border an extensive series of canals, they taste Madeira wine, and eat a fusion of Portuguese and local cooking. There is even a colorful endemic bird to look for, the Madeira firecrest. I think that it must get crowded in Funchal, the main city and port, so I’d look for a rental house somewhere outside the city.

A namesake of the Canary Islands?

Last, but far from least, is the Spanish group of islands. The Canary Islands may be the best known of all these Atlantic destinations, as they are very close to the coast of Morocco and have been known for hundreds of years. The name for the islands comes from the Latin word “canis” for dog, as dogs were mentioned in connection by Pliny and other early writers. There is even a breed of dog from this region, the Presa Canario, a big dog formerly for fighting, not birdlike at all. Canary birds are named after the islands, not the other way around.

There are eight main islands in this group, many more smaller islands, and a number of unoccupied but mapped “rocks”. The population is over two million, mostly on two islands, Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Described as having “long, hot summers and mild winters,” there is almost no rainfall May through August. It’s no wonder that the Canary Islands are popular with European vacationers and retirees. This is another big cruise ship stop, and the cities may get crowded, but there are lots of places outside the two capital cities, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. I’m sure we could find a wonderful spot for a month.

How To Reach Madeira (2022)

Planning A Trip To Madeira? Here are some guidelines on how to reach Madeira

Madeira is a Portugese island-city 850 km away from the rest of the country. It is surrounded by the gigantic Atlantic Ocean and enjoys stunning natural beauty due to its isolated geographical location. It is best reached via air or ferry as it is not connected via road or rail to the rest of Portugal. The 2 main airports are Santa Cruz and Vila Baleira Airport which have a good frequency of flights with most of the other significant cities in and around Portugal and the rest of Europe. The Funchal Port is the focal point for most of travel via ferry. This form of transportation is however seasonal and during the monsoon the routes are closed due to the erratic sea levels and intensity. Getting around locally is also easy, with taxi and bus services from the airports and port areas making it highly convenient to get into the island city. To learn more about the best ways to reach, check out the article below.

By Air

Photograph by https://www.madeira-web.com

The best way to reach the island of Madeira is via a 90 minute flight from Lisbon. Madeira Airport is reasonably well-connected to multiple cities in and around Portugal and even a few, select parts of Europe. The airport is located in the capital city of Funchal. The journey from the airport into the city is around 15 to 20 minutes are there are multiple taxi and bus services for visitors to choose from.

By Road

Being an island city, Madeira is not connecting highway system to the rest of Portugal, meaning it is only possible to reach via sea or air. However, on reaching Madeira Airport or Funchal Port, there are several public and private taxi and bus options for visitors to choose from. The journey from the airport into the city is hardly 15 to 20 minutes. The local bus services are extremely affordable and take visitors in and around the city.

By Rail

Unfortunately there is no railway system connecting the island of Madeira with the rest of Portugal. Other than catching a flight, the only way to actually reach this destination is via a ferry or boat to the island. There are more than a few commercial ferries travelling to Madeira and back during season. The Port of Funchal is the major city port and is well-connected to various other Portugese and European ports. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person.

Getting Around

The island can be scaled locally via a number of affordable and efficient ways. There are bike and scooter rental services that tend to be popular. However, rental prices and availability tends to vary based on the tourist concentration in Madeira. Additionally, there are local taxi and bus services galore for visitors to choose from. Additionally, certain parts of the island city are best scaled on foot.

Madeira is the birthplace of footballer Ronaldo.

We have all heard about such a great football player – Cristiano Ronaldo. You have heard about him, even if you are not fond of football. Do you know where he was born? In Portugal, and specifically in Madeira lost in the Atlantic Ocean, the city of Funchal. It is truly considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque places on Earth. One of its main features is being lost and isolated from the world, but tourists do not consider this a minus – on the contrary, a virtue.

Previously, large quantities of sugar cane were produced here. Then wine. Now Madeira is the most popular tourist destination for travelers from all over the world.

Geographic location.

Madeira is remote from civilization in the literal sense. The island itself is located in the north of the Atlantic, on the Madeira archipelago of the same name. It also includes the island of Porto Santo, located to the northeast of Madeira. Another archipelago – Ilyash-Dezertash is located to the southeast. It is also worth mentioning the uninhabited islands of the Selvagens archipelago, very remote south of Madeira. The main island is 1000 km from Portugal and 520 km from Africa. The area is 801 km 2 . Madeira is an autonomous region of Portugal. The capital is Funchal. The main island is the top of an extinct volcano. It has not erupted for about 6 thousand years.

History of the autonomous region.

The story begins with the discovery of Madeira by the Portuguese navigator João Zarco. It happened between 1418 and 1420. In 1419, his ship got into a storm and was driven back to the island of Porto Santo – “Holy Port”. So named for salvation from a shipwreck. Already in 1420-1425 began to be actively settled. In 1433 the island of Madeira was marked on the map. This is one of the first Great geographical discoveries.

The first settlers were mostly prisoners, people from poor families, the younger nobility. They were faced with the task of mastering agriculture here. First, they had to cut down the dense forest of Monteverde and dig channels, since in some parts of the island there was an excess of moisture, and in others there was a lack. The first successful result was the cultivation of wheat. Local vegetables and fruits, fish were the main diet of the colonists.

Climate.

The climate is favorable, Mediterranean. Nearby are the currents of the Canary and Gulf Stream, which define it. The difference in temperature between winter and summer is minimal. There is more rainfall in the north than in the south. T in July +21 °С, T in January +16 °С.

What to see in Madeira.

What is worth seeing in Madeira are its natural parks:

  • Parque Florestal das Queimadas. Surrounded by laurel forest. It is an ideal place for a picnic and nature watching.
  • Parque natural do ribeiro frio madeira. Here you can observe the mountain nature, flora and fauna of beautiful Madeira. This park has an observation deck to take beautiful and memorable photos.
  • Porto moniz natural swimming pools. These are natural sea pools. the main feature is that you will be surrounded by solidified lava. It is better to swim earlier, as the sun sets later in the north of Madeira.

Madeira Museums.

Madeira has a large number of cultural and historical museums. List of some of them:

  • Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira. This contemporary art museum is one of the largest in Madeira. The area is 1811 m². In addition, the museum has a library, auditoriums for various events.
  • Story Center Museum. This is a modern historical museum located in Funchal. In it you can see the whole history of Madeira from and to. There will also be an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of different times through sounds and smells.
  • Palacio de Sao Lourenco. This is the first settler fort in Madeira. Previously, this fortress served two functions: the residence of the representative of the king and a military fort. Now the military department and the representative of the government of Portugal are located here.

What to see near Madeira (1-2 days).

First of all, you should go to the island of Porto Santo. Only Morocco and the Canary Islands are closer, but they are sooo far from Madeira. So let’s look at Porto Santo. It is located in the northeast of Madeira Island. Removed from it by 43 km. Porto Santo is quite small: only 11 km long and 6 km wide. But despite this, it even has its own airport Porto Santo. There are two ways to get there: plane and ferry. Let’s analyze each of them.

By plane you can fly from Lisbon or from Funchal. These are regular flights. From Funchal, the flight takes about 15-25 minutes.

Ferry from Funchal. It all depends on the season: there can be from 1 to 3 flights per day. Swimming time – 2 hours 15 minutes. The cost is about the same as that of an airplane. Now let’s talk about movement and sights.

There is no public transport here, so you have to rent a car or a scooter. Experienced tourists say that the best option here is a scooter, as the island is small. Let’s talk about beaches.

  • If you look at the map, you will see a long stretch of beach. De facto this is one beach, but it is divided into sections. The length is more than 9 km. It is worth considering that this is the ocean, and there will always be waves. But the water itself is pure and transparent. The water temperature is approximately 23 °C.
  • Lovers of solitude will find the wild Praia do Zimbralinho beach suitable. He “hid” in the rocks. The water here is calm and calm. But the bottom is rocky.
  • Praia de Porto De Frades is located in the east of Porto Santo. It is wild – suitable for romantics and lovers of solitude. Beach with pebbles and sand.

Places to visit in Madeira:

  1. House of Christopher Columbus. It is located in the city of Vila Baleira. The museum presents models of sailboats, dishes, clothes, maps and much more. The history of the colonization of Porto Santo is shown.
  2. Pico do Castelo lookout point. In the 16th century, a fortress was built on this site to protect against ill-wishers. The ancient cannon located here is directed towards the Atlantic.
  3. West of Porto Santo Airport there is a wonderful oasis of Quinta das Palmeiras. This is both a zoo and a botanical garden. Walking in this paradise, you watch the gorgeous vegetation and animals. Here you can hide from the sun in shady paths.
  4. In the south of Porto Santo there is an unusual observation deck Pico de Ana Ferreira. At an altitude of 283 meters, a wonderful view of the ocean and islands opens up. But the main highlight are the basalt columns.

The cuisine is mainly Portuguese, but with its own twists and turns. After all, the island was isolated, so local dishes were formed here, combined with the best traditions of Portuguese cuisine. There are also CFS and McDonald’s. Below will be presented the top best restaurants with contacts and addresses.

Non-locals are not allowed to park in local and handicapped parking lots. For this, your car will be taken to a parking lot. For paid parking, payment is made through parking meters, but in small change. After payment, you are given a coupon, which is better to put on the “torpedo” of the car for a better view through the windshield. On Saturdays after 14:00, on Sundays and public holidays, many parking lots are free. Below you will find parking lots (paid and free), as well as their addresses.

  • The Forum shopping center has free parking for an hour, but for those who bought goods from 10 euros. You need to show your receipt to get a ticket. Address: Estrada Monumental 390, 9004-568 Funchal, Portugal.
  • Parking in the La Vie shopping center operates under the same conditions. Address: Rua Dr. Brito Camara 9, 9000-039 Funchal, Portugal.

Tips for renting a car in Madeira

Upload the desired area to Google maps for offline access

Having an offline navigator saves on roaming. All you have to do is download the maps you need from Google Maps and get directions even without a network connection. To do this, enter the phrase “OK MAPS” in the application, select the desired area and download offline maps to your smartphone.

Early Booking Discount

Madeira is a popular holiday destination and car rental service is in great demand here. Therefore, it is recommended to book a car in advance. When booking online, you know exactly which car, for what price and under what conditions you will receive in Madeira. The main advantage of early booking is the cost savings. The less time left before the start of the rental, the more the cost of the rental becomes. The optimal time for booking in rental companies is 6 weeks before receiving the vehicle. If you book early, two days before receiving the car, you can cancel the order without any penalties.

Which car to choose

Tourists who expect to drive only around the city and the immediate surroundings prefer to rent compact cars, Citroen C1 or Opel Corsa . For trips to the mountains, you need a high-performance car. You should go on such a trip with a full tank, as fuel consumption in the mountains increases one and a half to two times. The ideal car for this would be an all-wheel drive crossover. Per rent Fiat Tipo Estate in Madeira you will need to pay 4192.59 RUB per day.

What to look for when picking up your car

Before picking up, you must carefully inspect the car and point out to the rental company manager any scratches, damage or defects, such as dirty seat upholstery. You should check the ignition and the fuel level in the tank. You need to know the conditions for returning the car – where exactly, with what amount of fuel to return the car.

The rental agreement must include a telephone number to contact the rental company. It is designed so that customers can get help in emergency situations, such as when a car breaks down or in the event of an accident. A call to the rental company should be done first, even before the arrival of the police.

Insurance advice

Car rental companies in Madeira may offer different insurance options. They differ in price and set of options. Here are the basic types:

  • Third Party Liability (TPL)/ Third Party Liability Protection (TLP). This is a third party liability protection. If you are the culprit of an accident, the insurance will compensate for the costs of the victims for you.
  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). This is the protection of your vehicle from any damage. She works with a franchise. This is the amount that you will have to pay in case of damage in any case. The company will cover anything over the limit. The insurance does not cover theft.
  • Theft Insurance (TI)/Theft Protection (TP)/ Theft Waiver (TW). This is car theft protection. Operates with a franchise.
  • Super Loss Damage Waiver (SLDW)/Theft Protection+Collision Damage Waiver (TP+CDW). Complete protection against theft and damage, even if you are the culprit of the accident.
  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI). This is medical insurance for the driver and passengers.

If you want to save money and choose the cheapest insurance, carefully inspect the car upon receipt. Make sure the machine is not damaged.

Rent without mileage limit

Before renting a car, you should check with the rental company if there is a daily mileage limit for a car. Typically, tourists use a rental car to travel not only around the city, but also to travel to neighboring cities and even countries. If such a restriction exists, it is recommended to choose a rental option where there is no limit. In this case, the total cost of mileage will be lower, since you will not have to pay extra for exceeding the mileage. On our site, in the search results, check the filter “Unlimited mileage” to see the offers you need.

Fuel policy

For long distance trips, it is better to choose the option with full tank charge already included. If you have a short trip, then this service is inappropriate. Be sure to read the fuel policy before making a booking:

If necessary, use the special filter to select the most convenient option for you.

Compare prices and conditions from different car rental companies

When choosing a rental car in Madeira, you should carefully read all the terms and conditions of the rental. This is due to the fact that different companies may differ not only in rental prices, but also in conditions for limiting mileage, the cost of additional services, and the amount of the deposit. To compare rental conditions, it is convenient to use the search and booking system on our website.

How to choose a rental company

When renting a car in Madeira, you should carefully read all the conditions offered by the rental company. Depending on the specific company, they may differ in mileage, insurance coverage, deposit amount, accompanying services and their cost.

Iranian oil tankers head for Europe for the first time since sanctions were lifted

By Reuters Staff, Reuters

3 Min Read

LONDON (Reuters) – Two Iranian oil supertankers, owned by the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), have headed for Europe’s largest commercial port Rotterdam for the first time since sanctions were lifted on the Islamic republic last January, industry sources told Reuters.

An oil tanker in the Iranian port of Eseluye in the Persian Gulf. May 27, 2006. Two Iranian oil supertankers, owned by the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), headed to Europe’s largest trading port of Rotterdam for the first time since sanctions were lifted on the Islamic Republic in January last year, industry sources told Reuters. REUTERS/Morteza Nikoubazl

The supertankers Snow and Huge, carrying 4 million barrels of oil, have left the terminal at the port of Hark and are heading for Rotterdam, according to the Reuters terminal ship tracking system.

Until now, European buyers of Iranian oil preferred to charter ships from other companies.

It is clear that Iran is step by step overcoming the obstacles to regaining the market share lost during the period of Western sanctions.

“One less problem,” said Andrew Wilson, head of research at BRS Brokers. “If they manage to stake out some share in this (European) market, then Rotterdam will only benefit from this.”

During the sanctions period, international insurance companies were reluctant to cooperate with Iran, which reduced its oil exports to a record low of 1 million barrels per day. The pre-sanction volume of oil supplies from Iran was 3 million barrels per day.

Complicated the work of NITC and difficulties in obtaining an international certificate for Iranian ships, which gives access to most of the world’s ports.

But recently, global shipping insurers entered into an agreement excluding US reinsurers from dealing with Iran, which would provide almost full insurance coverage for Iranian oil exports and attract new shipowners to the country’s port.

The agreement comes into force on 20 February.

The fact that Iranian ships have sailed for the port of Rotterdam probably means that Tehran, which plans to increase its supplies of sour oil to Europe, will find it easier to fight for market share in the region, given the recent decision of the member countries of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC ) to reduce production.

At the same time, the reduction in OPEC supplies will mainly affect Europe and the USA, to a lesser extent – Asia, as producers do not want to give up market share in the region, where heavy oil from the USA is already pressing their positions.

Iran, in turn, did not fail to take advantage of an exception to the OPEC pact and in early January sold more than 13 million barrels of oil stored in sea tankers.

According to the source, the number of tankers with unsold Iranian oil has dropped to 11 this week from 14 in early January.

The island is nicknamed ‘la isla bonita’, and it only takes one visit to see why. Whatever you’re looking for from your break, whether it’s stunning mountain peaks, colonial history or impressive architecture, you’ll find it on one of our trips to La Palma.

Our La Palma Getaways

We have carefully designed all of our La Palma tours to ensure that you see everything this little island has to offer.

You’ll walk through ancient green laurel forests and admire staggering volcanic landscapes, before meandering through the picturesque streets of its 15th-century capital city, Santa Cruz de La Palma. Plus, you’ll be rambling the island with the help of one of our friendly and informative leaders.

La Palma is known as one of the steepest hiking locations, but the rewarding views make even its most challenging walks worth the extra effort. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that they really are the high point of the trip.

News

Volcanic eruptions are always of great interest. The most daring travelers are eager to get to know them live, despite the risks. In this regard, the concept of “volcanic tourism” even appeared in the media. 19On September 2021, the Cumbre Vieja volcano erupted on the Spanish island of La Palma. This fact increased the number of its visits several times, so now it is on the list of the most visited in the world.

Since it is currently inactive, the surroundings of the Cumbre Vieja volcano can be visited without risk. Some local companies also offer licensed tours to areas where free access is prohibited. This makes it possible to get very close to the volcano and learn about the consequences that it left on its way. In addition, since June last year, a dam has been opened that crosses a five-kilometer-wide zone as it descends from the mountain to the sea, facilitating communication with the eastern region of La Palma, which has been isolated due to the eruption.

We cannot pass by the other most visited volcanoes in the world, so we will briefly talk about them.

Popocatepetl volcano (Mexico) is known for its high volcanic activity. It is not possible to get very close to it because of the high risks, but you can safely visit the surrounding Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park and admire the local landscapes.

Volcano Geldingadalir (Iceland) erupts quite often, but does not cease to receive guests. Tourists can get there by car, and from the car parks, several trails lead to the eruption zones.

Volcano Etna (Italy) is located on the island of Sicily and is one of the most active volcanoes on the planet. The eruptions of this volcano are frequent, but usually limited to the release of gases and rarely cause damage.

Sakurajima Volcano (Japan), despite the danger, is a popular tourist destination. It is visited annually by 1. 8 million people. The volcano is part of the Kirishima-Yaku National Park, where you can find many scenic routes and viewing platforms that allow you to admire this incredible natural phenomenon.

Generally April is the month of Easter holidays. Thus in some European cities it can be a busy period. But temperatures start to rise all over Europe and it is a great month to visit one of the capitals of the European countries.

April is a good month to visit the temperate climatic areas of the northern hemisphere. In this part of the planet spring has just begun and the climate becomes increasingly mild. The countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea are an excellent destination at this time of the year, even if rainfall may occur. The mild climate allows the visit of the art cities of the countries that overlook the Mediterranean Sea.

In Asia the Japanese spring displays a spectacular blooming of cherry trees that has its best moment in the first two weeks of April.

April is also excellent for visiting the countries of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East such as Jordan, Iran, Oman and Turkey. In these regions the climate is still mild and there are no high temperatures that characterize the summer months. At the end of this month the dry season ends on the Maldives. On the west coast of India the climate is still dry, but temperatures are high.

In Baja California (Mexico) April is the last month for spotting the whales in the Sea of Cortez. Even the Mexican coast along the Pacific Ocean has a good dry climate during this period.

In the southern hemisphere instead it is autumn and this season allows watching the spectacular autumn colours of the trees of the forests. In this month more and more passionate photographers fly to South America to admire the autumn colours in the National Parks of Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. If you are in Chile why not take the opportunity to see one of the most fascinating and isolated places in the world: Easter Island. The name of this island originates in the spotting by a Dutch explorer as the first European on Easter Sunday 1722.

Between the end of March and the beginning of April the forests of New Zealand are transformed into a multitude of colours. The most beautiful places to see the autumn colours are the regions of Central Otago on the South Island and Hawke’s Bay on the North Island, but throughout the country the botanical gardens take on spectacular colours. The Perth region of Western Australia enjoys a mild and dry climate during April.

weather by month, temperature, precipitation, when to go

In Brussels, the capital city of Belgium, and seat of important European institutions, the climate is sub-oceanic, humid and rainy, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, so it has cold (but not freezing) winters and mild or pleasantly warm summers.

The wind blows frequently, and can be intense, especially from November to March.

The average temperature ranges from 3.7 °C (38.7 °F) in January to 18.5 °C (65.3 °F) in July. Here are the average temperatures.

Precipitation is relatively abundant, about 825 millimeters (32.5 inches) per year, but above all, it is common and well distributed over the seasons. However, the rainiest seasons are summer and autumn, and the least rainy season is spring. Rainfall often occurs as short shower or drizzle. Here is the average precipitation.

Winter, from December to February, is cold: daytime temperatures are on average a few degrees above freezing (0 °C or 32 °F), while at night, they are around freezing; wind and humidity often exacerbate the feeling of cold.

However, different weather situations can occur.

When the westerlies blow, temperatures can be quite mild, and can reach 10/12 °C (50/54 °F), however, there may be wind and rain.

On the other hand, when the city is reached by cold air masses from Russia, the temperature drops below freezing, for longer or shorter periods, even during the day. The temperature rarely drops below -10 °C (14 °F), however, it can do it on colder periods. The coldest record is -18.7 °C (-1.7 °F) and was set in January 1940.

Snowfalls in Brussels are quite frequent, though usually not abundant, and occur in the form of light snow, however, snow can sometimes accumulate on the ground, and last for many days, if it occurs during cold waves.

Spring, from March to May, is initially cold, with possible snowfalls still in March, and then it gradually becomes milder in April and May, although some cold days, with highs around 10 °C (50 °F), can occur even in May, especially in the first half of the month. However, April and May are, albeit slightly, the least rainy and cloudy months of the year.

Typically, by the second half of May, temperatures become permanently acceptable, and there can be the first pleasantly warm days, with highs around 25 °C (77 °F) or even above.

Summer, from June to August, is mild or pleasantly warm. The flow of Atlantic fronts does not cease even in this season; the wind blows constantly from the sea, and rainfall is quite frequent as well. However, there are pleasant periods, with daytime temperatures between 20 °C and 25 °C (68 °F and 77 °F), but also cooler periods, with temperatures remaining below 20 °C (68 °F) even during the day. At night, it can be a bit cold, in fact, the temperature can drop below 10 °C (50 °F) even in July and August.

From time to time, there may be hot periods of short duration, in which the temperature can reach or exceed 30 °C (86 °F), which are becoming more frequent due to global warming. The highest record is 40 °C (104 °F), set during the short but exceptional heatwave of July 2019.

Autumn, from September to November, is initially pleasant, ie in the first half of September, then it gradually becomes more cold, dull, wet and windy. The first night frosts usually occur in November, but sometimes also in October.

Brussels does not get a lot of sun, especially from November to February, when the sun rarely shines. It goes a bit better in spring and in summer, when the weather is variable, and between one disturbance and another, the sun can come out. On average, there are around 1,600 hours of sunshine per year. Here are the average sunshine hours per day.

Brussels – Sunshine hours

MAIN WEATHER AND CLIMATIC FEATURES IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE OF THE EARTH IN APRIL 2022

Air temperature

From the first days of April, the southern regions of the ETR were captured by extreme heat. The thermometers rose above 25-30°, new daily temperature maxima were set. The norms of air temperature for the first decade were exceeded here by 3-5°. And only in the northern and partly central region of the ETR did the average ten-day temperature approximately correspond to the norm. But in the second decade, anomalous heat also came to the Russian North, where new air temperature maxima were recorded in the Arctic. Finally, in the third decade, the situation changed dramatically. The heat remained only in the south. At this time, in the Volgograd, Astrakhan regions, Krasnodar Territory and in the North Caucasus, temperature maxima exceeding +30° were again recorded. And a noticeable cooling came to the northern and central regions of the ETR. In the Moscow, Oryol, Belgorod, Kursk, Tambov, Lipetsk regions, as well as in the Volga region, the thermometers dropped to -3 … -5 ° and lower at night. In the third decade, the average temperature here turned out to be near the norm or even 1-2° below it. nine0008

In the Urals, as well as in the ETR, the first two decades were warm. In the second decade, new temperature maxima were recorded in the Southern Urals, as well as in neighboring Bashkiria. The air temperature rose above + 25 °, and also in the third decade cold came here. In Bashkiria, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk regions. the temperature dropped below -5°.

Most of Siberia was anomalously warm for almost the entire month. In the south of Western Siberia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in Khakassia, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk regions. the air warmed up to +25°C in some places. New temperature maxima were set. In the Far Eastern Federal District, there was a contrast in temperature anomalies between the northern and southern regions. In the Magadan region and Chukotka Aut. env. almost the entire month it was warmer than usual (anomalies of average ten-day temperatures reached +4-6°C or more), and in the south, in Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, the temperature was approximately normal or below the norm every decade. nine0008

As a result, the average temperature in April in Russia exceeded the norm. In the south of the ETR, in the Urals, in Siberia and in the north of the Far East by more than 2°, and in a significant part of this territory by 4° or more. Approximately the average monthly temperature corresponded to the norm in the North-Western, in the north of the Central and in the south of the Far East federal districts.

In general, throughout Russia, separately for its European and Asian parts and in all federal districts, the average air temperature for April is located outside the top ten highest values in a ranked series from 1891g

Throughout East Asia (China, Mongolia, Korea, Japan) the average temperature in April is above the norm. In the north and east of China, it is exceeded by 2-4°. Approximately the same anomaly in Korea, and in Mongolia and Japan it is somewhat less – +1…3°. And only in the south of the Celestial Empire did the temperature approximately correspond to the norm, and in the southwest in Yunnan province, the norm was observed against a negative background. At the end of the month, cold weather came to northern China. During the day in the Beijing area, the air temperature dropped by 13 °. At a number of points, new daily temperature minima were established. But at the same time, in the southeast in the province of Guangdong, the air warmed up to + 33 °. New daily temperature maxima have been registered. In China, April was the 5th warmest on record since 1891g

Weak negative anomalies of mean monthly temperature were observed in Southeast Asia.

The summer heat came early to northern India and neighboring Pakistan. The thermometers rose above +43-45°. Anomalies of average monthly temperature were +3…5° and more. Such heat in April has never been observed here before. In the center of India, the temperature was approximately in line with the norm, and in the extreme south even weak negative anomalies of the average monthly temperature were observed. Last April was the 2nd hottest in the history of regular meteorological observations in India. Even more, the average monthly temperature in April was only once. In 2010 nine0008

It was hot in the Near and Middle East Average monthly temperatures exceeded the norm by 2-4° and more. A sharp temperature contrast was observed in Transcaucasia. At the beginning of the month, hot air came here from the Iranian highlands, and daily temperature maxima were beaten in Azerbaijan. In places they exceeded +30°. But in mid-April, cold air hit the Transcaucasian republics, and now records of cold were recorded in Armenia.

Heat prevailed in Central Asia. At the beginning of the month, a scattering of maximum temperature records fell on Central Asia. In Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the air temperature repeatedly exceeded +30…33°. The norms of the average monthly temperature throughout Central Asia are exceeded by 2-4°C or more. nine0008

In North Africa, average April temperatures are above normal almost everywhere. From the Atlantic coast to the Red Sea – by 2-4 ° and more. Only in some places the average monthly air temperatures corresponded to the norm, or, for example, in the northern regions of Algeria and Morocco were somewhat lower than them. The average temperature of the past April in North Africa ranks 4-5 in the data series since 1891.

April began in Europe with cold weather. In Germany, France and the Netherlands, new daily air temperature minimums were set. Temperatures below -6°C were recorded in Germany, and 2°C in France and the Netherlands. It hasn’t been this cold in London in April for over 70 years. The cold penetrated even to the south of the continent. In Spain and Italy, such cold weather has not been seen in April for more than 55 years. Cold night records were set in Greece, North Macedonia, Romania, Italy, Poland. In some places the air temperature dropped to -3…-4°. Abnormally warm weather with new daily temperature maxima was recorded only in the north of the Scandinavian countries. As a result, the average air temperature throughout Europe turned out to be close to normal. In the western part of the continent, this happened mainly against a positive, and in the eastern part, a negative background of anomalies. nine0008

Most of Canada and the US experienced cold weather in April. Anomalies of the average temperature of the month amounted to -2…-4°. In Canada, only along the Atlantic coast and in the polar region, and in the USA in Alaska and in the southern states, the average temperature of the month turned out to be above the norm. The weather was very hot in Mexico. Here the anomalies are +2…4° and more.

In the Arctic, the average monthly air temperature is more than 2° above the norm. The largest anomalies (more than 2-4°) formed in the north of Asia and North America. In the north of Europe – the norm, and in the north-east of Greenland it is less than the norm. nine0008

Average air temperature of the Northern Hemisphere in April with an accuracy of 0.1°С. located on the 4th-7th line among the highest values since 1891.

In Moscow, the average temperature in April is +5.8°, which is exactly the norm.

Ocean surface temperature

La Niña, a cold episode of the Southern Oscillation, has persisted in the Pacific for the ninth consecutive month. Negative SST anomalies in the Northern Hemisphere are located from the equator to 10°N. and from 160°E to the coast of South and Central America, and in the South – along the coast of South America and in the central part of the ocean to 10-15 °S. Those. the area occupied by negative anomalies has not yet decreased in comparison with previous months. nine0008

Large positive SST anomalies (more than +1…2°) are located in the subtropical latitudes of the Pacific Ocean in the Northern Hemisphere. Negative anomalies are taking place in the South China Sea, along the coasts of the United States, Canada and Alaska, as well as in the Bering Strait. The average anomaly of the surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean in the Northern Hemisphere is 0.1° less than the record value of April 1989, despite the presence of a major La Niña.

Although most of the surface of the Atlantic Ocean in the Northern Hemisphere is occupied by above zero temperature anomalies, only those located east of the US coast, and even in the Baltic and North Seas, can be considered large (more than 1 °) of them. The rest of the Atlantic Ocean in the Northern Hemisphere has temperatures close to normal. Weak positive anomalies over most of the ocean surface and weak negative anomalies along the coast of Canada and west of the coast of North Africa in the tropical zone, as well as in the central part of the Mediterranean Sea and along the contact with the waters of the Arctic Ocean. nine0008

Precipitation

A lot of precipitation fell on EPR in April. Only in a few subjects of the federation, their amounts for the month did not reach the norm. All of them are located either in the north (Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions, the republics of Karelia and Komi), or in the south (Astrakhan region, the republics of Kalmykia, Adygea, Dagestan, North Ossetia, as well as the Chechen, Ingush and Karachay-Cherkess republics). The rest of the territory received much more than normal precipitation. In the Central f.o. 2-3 times or more, in Privolzhsky – 1.5-2.0 times or more, in Yuzhny – more than 1. 5 times the norm in the Republic of Crimea. nine0008

At the beginning of the month, the eastern regions of the Volga region experienced record precipitation. In Kirov and Izhevsk, new daily maximums in the amount of precipitation were set. During the day they accumulated up to half of the monthly norm. In mid-April, rains and snowfalls swept through the central region. In the Moscow, Vladimir, Voronezh, Tula, Kaluga, Bryansk regions. in two days, up to 20-30 mm of precipitation fell in the form of rain, sleet and snow. Heavy rains and snowfalls at the same time were in the Volga region from Tatarstan to the Lower Volga. Up to 25 mm of precipitation fell in some places during the day. A new daily maximum has been set in Kazan. At the beginning of the third decade, again record precipitation was recorded in the Kursk, Smolensk, Bryansk, and Kaluga regions. During the day, up to 20 mm of heavenly moisture accumulated. The rivers were filled to the brim with rainwater. nine0008

In the Urals, monthly precipitation amounted to about the norm. In Siberia, as they say, where it is empty, where it is dense. In the Tomsk region, Altai and Taimyr, in Evenkia, they amounted to the norm and more, and in the rest of the territory it was less. Record rains passed in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In the Far East, only Transbaikalia and the Amur Region, as well as Chukotka, received precipitation below the norm, while the rest of the territory was normal or more. Kamchatka and some areas of the Khabarovsk Territory – 1.5 norms. nine0008

In China’s northeastern province of Heilongjiang, atmospheric moisture in April received about the norm and more. But to the south, in eastern China and Mongolia, the amount of precipitation for the month amounted to only half the monthly norm or less. A similar situation is also in the west and south of the Celestial Empire. At the end of the month, heavy rains hit the central and southwestern regions of China, which led to floods. In Sichuan province, the height of the flood waters reached two meters, as a result of which many agricultural lands were flooded. Here the precipitation norms are exceeded by 2-3 times. At the end of the month, snow fell in and around Beijing. In Japan, about the norm of precipitation, and in Korea, less than it. nine0008

The countries of South-East Asia got a lot of rain. In places, the norms are exceeded by 3-4 times. Heavy rain hit Vietnam, which is unusual for this time of year. In Da Nang, 350mm of rain fell in a day. This is more than seven monthly norms. The height of the water flows on the highways reached half a meter, which completely stopped car traffic.

Almost no rain in India and Pakistan. Only along the western coast of India was a separate heavy rain. It was so strong that in the state of Goa a new maximum amount of precipitation for April was established. nine0008

There was no rain at all in the Near and Middle East and very little in Central Asia.

North Africa has had almost no rain this month. Only in the south along the Gulf of Guinea did monthly precipitation amount to the norm or more, and the same can be said about the coastal regions of Algeria and Morocco.

In Europe, a lot of rain fell on countries located in the east of the continent from the Baltic to the Balkans. Here, in some places, the norms are exceeded by 1.5 times or more. The picture is similar in the west in Spain. Here, the anomalies of monthly norms are even greater – 200-250%. Approximately the norm of precipitation in Germany, and in the rest of the continent they turned out to be little and very little. Less than 50% of the norm in northern Italy, partly in France, in the UK and the Scandinavian countries. Record rains came to Belarus. In a number of points, new daily maxima of precipitation amounts have been established. In France, snowfalls were still observed on the slopes of the Alps. nine0008

The eastern and central states of the United States received normal atmospheric moisture and more. Especially a lot of them went to the states bordering Canada (North and South Dakotas, Montana and Minnesota). Here, the norms are exceeded by 2-3 times or more. The west of the country from California to Kansas and Oklahoma has received almost no rain this month. Due to dry and hot weather in Arizona and New Mexico, numerous fires have started. In Canada, most of the territory was dry. Precipitation was recorded only in the polar region and in areas bordering the United States from Saskatchewan to Quebec. A lot of rain fell on Mexico, a number of Caribbean countries and northern Colombia. nine0008

72mm of precipitation fell in Moscow during the month. This is 177% of the norm. The past April was the 5th “wettest” in the meteorological chronicle of the capital since 1891.

According to researchers, in April the average air temperature significantly exceeded the norm in parts of Europe, Antarctica and Greenland. According to the map published on the website of the program, abnormal figures for April were also recorded in Siberia. In North America, the month turned out to be, on the contrary, unusually cold. nine0008

The average temperature in April 2020 is 0.7°C above the average since 1981. The hottest April, according to researchers, was in 2016, but the past month was only 0.01 °C colder.

Researchers from the USA came to similar conclusions. According to American scientists, due to the high temperature in April 2020, with a high probability (99.94%), it will enter the top five hottest in history. “With 70 percent certainty, we can say that 2020 will be the hottest year on record,” meteorologists are sure. nine0008

Whether changes in average temperature are related to changes in greenhouse gas emissions, scientists do not report. In February 2020, due to restrictive measures related to the coronavirus pandemic, CO2 emissions in China decreased by 25%.

Yachting in the New Year 2023 in the Canary Islands

    • Tatyana Melnichenko

This is our 4th trip with @yachting_time

This is our 4th trip with @yachting_time and every time I am impressed, inspired, expanding my circle of interesting acquaintances. Thank you for opening up new horizons, teaching not to fight the elements, but to be at one with it. See you on board!

    • Alexey Merzlikin

In the morning you wake up in the fresh air on the deck, jump into the water from there

@tokiodrome What is a trip on a yacht? This is when in the morning you wake up in the fresh air on the deck, jump into the water from there, stop in the most beautiful empty bays, sail in silence on six knots under sail, dine on a yacht with culinary delights from @alexpavlovsky, chill on saps in the evening sea, explore the islands on all kinds of land transport, drinking mamos with gyros on land with the team in the evenings, tying ropes, catching gulfwind (@dogoni. kate spelled correctly?)) and generally forgetting about time. Thank you @yachting_time for this week and until new swims together)))

    • Albina Dyuzhikh

I think that absolutely everyone needs to try this…

@bisha_bisha Bouuu… our seven-day TOUR “I love you Marina more and more every day” is over HOW IT WAS INSANELY COOL!!!!!!! Everything and everything just coincided… we were really “on the same wave
” and I will never forget this trip)) I think that absolutely every person needs to try it. ..fall asleep on deck under
stars (there were cabins, but you yourself understand …), wake up at five in the morning to the exclamations of “Turtle, turtle !!!”, sleep for three to four hours and be full of energy, sing songs, dance, see off sunsets on top of the mountains and meet the sunrises on the high seas, ride on the waves of the incredible blue sea and change locations from amazing to even more amazing, @yachting_time guys thank you SO MUCH for giving such bombastic emotions and showing how cool
vacation can be! I hug all the guys – you are MEGA cool and I already miss)

    • Irina Mamashuk

A positive outlook on life creates an amazing atmosphere on a yacht!

@irinamamashuk Guys I want to thank you for the amazing yacht tour, and in general for what you do, for hospitality! For giving your guests so much energy and good mood, for care, safety and patience! You carefully choose people in the team with whom it is comfortable and humanly good! We spent two wonderful weeks, saw interesting places and tours around them! A positive outlook on life creates an amazing atmosphere on the yacht! Two wonderful little men give people unforgettable emotions and impressions! You guys are great!

    • Yuliya Smolentseva

Thank you for organizing such spiritual trips

@smt_iuliia Today ended a week-long trip on a yacht in Croatia
It was the first yachting experience that was just great! We were lucky with the weather and the E team, which allowed us to enjoy the process to the fullest. Many thanks to @yachting_time Sasha and Katya for organizing such spiritual trips

    • Natalia Nikityuk

Would I go sailing again? Definitely yes!!

@nikityuk_natalie Hy well .. The vacation is over, I break into
working days again. A week on a yacht with @yachting_time was Magical and unforgettable!! A wonderful experience and a lot of impressions. A couple of years ago, I was sure that the best vacation for me is a seal vacation: lie down, sunbathe and do nothing. But first, Montenegro sent me on the path of active recreation, and Croatia reinforced this conviction. Huge thanks to the guys from @yachting_time for the way they organize the trips. A well-chosen team is the key to a successful vacation! And in this, Sasha and Katya are really great. We filmed about 3 hours of video, a lot of photos and most importantly – a lot of impressions !!
Would I go sailing again? Definitely yes!! And it is c @yachting_time 100%

    • Maria Andronova

Yachting in Greece is my ideal vacation

@andronovam Yachting in Greece is my ideal vacation, the impressions from which do not fade even 2 months later. .. it was one of the brightest, interesting, dynamic, positive, delicious, fun and perfectly organized trips. Thank you @yachting_time and @dogoni.kate and I can’t stop admiring you! Gathering so many wonderful people on one yacht is a talent!

    • Daria Vasilyeva

Sasha is the most humane and stylish captain

@mochentochen Almost everything is with the Croatian archive. But there are still undeclared thanks! And so, in the nomination the best team wins “Breeze of Fortune”, namely: @nikityuk_natalie, @nikit_yuk, @pkirill, @smt_iuliia, @evgenii_smolentcev, @eliasnn, @dogoni.kate and @yachting_time! Ypaaa!!!
Incredible luck brought us on the same board! How I wanted Natasha’s pancakes yesterday .. dear mother! But even more I would like to go sailing with you again. So that the cheeks fluttered in the wind, the yacht cut the sea water, the sail was inflated with pleasure, and we were happy just going to a new place, on a sunny day and on a warm evening. Our journey was bright and, for me personally, extremely long-awaited. I think that we received the first starfish for our yacht shoulder straps.
I almost forgot! Sasha is the most human and stylish captain. Katya, give him a heart in the color of the jacket.

    • Irina Miloradova

Learning how to sail was my old desire.

@tiferet33 “Seeing and doing something new is a great pleasure”(c)
This is one of the most unexpected and exciting adventures to date! Learning to sail has been my longtime desire. Thank you @katyunchica for the opportunity to be part of the team! A week on the yacht with the @yachting_time team taught me how to steer into the wind to keep the tack and take off at the right moment. Everyone in the team was included in the sailing process. We set the mainsail and the staysail “butterfly”, reefed, changed tacks on the move, moored on a stretch in bays, drifted in the sea, all this was interesting and exciting, but this is only part of the story. About other exciting adventures in the next post.

    • Irina Vill

Only when you go down to land, you begin to realize how much you miss the sea!

⠀@villirina Only when you go down to land, you begin to realize how much you miss the sea! Thank you @yachting_time for the best adventure of this summer) The key to good yachting is not only the boat, the weather, etc., but first of all it is a well-chosen company! We are very lucky, thanks to our captains Sasha and Katya for their “sense” and the ability to unite seemingly completely different people who did not know each other before! I won’t even write about what bays we met on the way) I already spammed you))) If you suddenly decide on this type of vacation, I recommend our guys
@yachting_time you will definitely enjoy your vacation with them! Well, we are already starting to prepare for the next trip in the new year!)

    • Evgeniy Smolentsev

We watched a movie on a sail under the stars

@evgenii_smolentcev On a yacht from middle Damacia yacht_time. It was an incredibly cool experience. A lot of sea, sun, drive and a very diverse fan. We sailed, chilled in the sun, swam in the bays, walked around the port towns and watched movies on sail under the stars. To all those who are not indifferent to the sea, wind and new experience: a definite recommendation!

    • Galina Boronichenko

      It was a powerful reboot)

@galinaboroni I have never seen so much sea as this week! Thank you @yachting_time for showing this beauty! Thank you for the bluest sea, beautiful bays, cozy marinas, trips to the mountains, for adventures and fun, for new experiences and meeting cool people, for the atmosphere of our trip, for the care and excellent organization! It was a powerful reboot) Sasha and Katya, I hug you and hope we will see you on the next trip! I already miss)

    • Ivan Kalinichev

      -How do you like yachting?
      – Unreal thing!

@ivan_kalinichev After the holidays, I was often asked: “how do you like yachting”
      Unreal thing!
⠀Yachting is: a mix of colors and emotions, gorgeous nature and vibrant sunsets, new places and impressions. But the most important thing in yachting is the team that created the atmosphere and drive on the yacht. Every day we discovered a new island, studied its terrain and character. We climbed mountains, rode along the coast on mopeds, swam in the open sea, hid from thunderstorms, studied local cuisine and the local language. It’s amazing how just a week on a yacht changes the way you look at the world. Definitely recommend to everyone.
⠀The first vacation abroad was a success. Thanks to @yachting_time for this!

Review of individual yachting for the family

@d.lisovik I want to write a short review about our trip with yachting_time. The idea of yachting has been brewing for me for a very long time, but somehow my hands didn’t reach, I couldn’t convince my soulmate + a small child and there was no suitable company. I started to get interested in yachting in Tenerife and then the pandemic came. Summer is coming, holidays are approaching, and here is the good news – Greece is opening up for Ukraine! For a long time I watched the guys on insta from
Yachting_time, written off, agreed, completed. + I managed to send my friends kiman_andrey and t to this marine scam. kiman and my soul mate katika_li with our children) flew to Athens, walked for three days, and finally we are in Alimos Marina. Incredibly hot, everyone is on edge) get acquainted with the guys, get on the boat. Purchasing groceries, loading suitcases, finally leaving! Our journey began with a little adaptation of some of the participants) I had to interrupt my ambitious plans for a night crossing and start on the Methana island. even me was sick) long distances are easier, route:
picturesque Poros island, very beautiful Spetsi and wild camping in Hydra. Tons of filmed content, never ending cold rosé, delicious
Greek cuisine, great company, lots of pros and cons. Probably this trip caused the most vivid emotions.
Excellent company, sailing practice, the picture is constantly changing! Definitely, yachting has come! Upon arrival in Athens, our girls asked: “So, where are we sailing next time?)” We will develop this direction, definitely. Thanks again to Yachting_time and our cap for this trip and the acquired practice.
PS will soon go to study at Cap)

Yachting – a drunken sense of freedom

@ Polisha_kormiltseva 9000,0007 yachting – this is a drunken sense of freedom, excitement, excitement. board, and clothes wet from the waves flooding the deck when you go at night under the open starry sky and fall asleep in the cabin under the lulling swaying of the waves.
⠀A team is when completely different people, from different cities, of different ages, gather in one place, spend 24/7 together and become a family in a short week. Together they prepare food, celebrate a birthday, steal fruits from trees from the garden, bury treasure, climb a mountain to spend the passing day and look forward to the next one, when there will be a new sea crossing, a new port, a new island, a new little life.
⠀The captain, he is the skipper, he is the “dad” of the family, he is Alexander, he is @yachting_time, who confidently drove the yacht, found parking spaces in filled marinas, did morning exercises, saved from hunger with magic sandwiches and skillfully cracked open who is mafia.

    • Alexey Ivanov

Helped to discover another interesting facet of recreation Freedom of movement, the opportunity to see the original small islands of the Mediterranean Sea create an unforgettable atmosphere of yacht tourism.
⠀During these short seven days we were lucky and we were able to catch completely different weather – and hot calm days that allowed us to take moped rides around the island, visit medieval towns and fortresses and also swim in plenty, also felt the power of a six-point wave when you feel himself insignificant in the midst of the rampant elements. Emotions were running high, household worries and problems were completely forgotten for a while. We left home with sadness, but the good news is that this can always be repeated.

    • Evgeniy Fedosov

In terms of richness, variety and abundance of impressions, it was like swimming for a month!

⠀@evgen89148 Remembering the summer days, I want to say a huge thank you to @yachting_time for a very cool yachting adventure, the week passed instantly, but in terms of richness, variety and abundance of impressions, it was like sailing for a month! It is very comfortable and pleasant to spend time with you! I hope to see you again, and on a catamaran, on a yacht I have not found a place for my practices)) And yet, I did not expect that Turkey is so different and interesting! @yachting_time tough guys

    • Alenka Tarasova

If you want to learn more about the culture of the country in a short time and see it from a non-tourist angle

⠀@ t_alenkka Yachting is a small life!!! So, if you want to learn more about the culture of the country in a short time, to see it from a non-tourist perspective, WELCOME every day is a new day, a new route, a new place!!! we moored to different islands, walked, enjoyed beautiful views, local food! it turned out to be a great vacation – so spontaneous, rich, exciting, varied and fun! Our team is on top, thank you for such an incredible trip!!!⠀Guys, it’s worth a try, I RECOMMEND!

    • Alexander Kormiltsev

The first acquaintance with yachting was so exciting

⠀ @ Prosto__sashka Thank you very much to the @YachTing_Time meeting for the fact that the first acquaintance with yachting was so granted and cheerful that now it is so granted that now it is so granted that now without a yacht and the sea it is no longer possible!) To everyone who is not afraid to fall in love with yachting seriously and for a long time – urgently write to the captain and ideological inspirer – Sasha Skvortsov!

    • Alexey Pavlovsky

      It’s both sport and travel

@alexpavlovsky Yes, it’s @yachting_time!!! What is good about a vacation on a yacht is that it is both sports and travel, and a pleasant pastime and the opportunity to gain new knowledge and incomparable experience. What even better helps to switch, reboot, gain energy and positive!

    • Artyom Stanovsky

Independently manage a yacht, work with sails, moor in marinas and anchor in bays

      @artem_stanovskikh

      – 6 islands in a week
      – Non-touristic Greece with its extraordinary color and serenity
      – Sunrises and sunsets on the high seas
      – Swimming in the cleanest bays, accessible only from the sea

    • Irina Kostina

I didn’t know any of them before

⠀These amazing guys are my team. Too bad it’s only for a week. I didn’t know any of them before, instagram and chance brought us together, we met already on the boat and lived a little life together)
⠀We set sails, moored, pushing other people’s boats aside, swam in the open sea, saw peacocks, climbed mountains and met amazing Greek sunsets, rode bikes, bikes, wheelbarrows and trams, ate a ton of olives and a Greek salad, drank a barrel of dry white. ..
⠀In general, it was cool, guys. Thank you

    • Violetta Ushakova

      It was my “first experience”

It was my “first experience”… snow-white yacht, blue sea, delicious food, drinks… every day a new fabulous island) )) Meeting new interesting people with whom you spend all day, and with some even nights (thanks to @_eyes_wide_shut for warming me up).

    • Alla Kartashova

      I want more!!!

17 days ago we returned from a trip to the islands of Greece. We traveled on a snow-white sailing yacht, whose name is Erika. We met very cheerful and very cheerful guys. We visited 6 islands: Methana, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Moni. We walked through the streets of Athens and looked at the Parthenon. We swam in the Aegean Sea, sunbathed on a snow-white yacht, climbed mountains, fed peacocks, ate natural Greek ice cream and drop dead delicious halva. And yes, the taste of Greek salad and olives still haunts me!) And all these adventures were accompanied by sparkling jokes of our friendly company!!! It was an incredible and unforgettable vacation!)) I want more!!!)) I thank the captains Alexander and Sergey from @yachting_time for the excellent organization of our tour!

    • Marina Dreval

You feel like a real traveler, explorer of new lands. This is a new world in which you feel like a real traveler, an explorer of new lands.. waking up, you don’t know what the coming day will bring, whether it will be a storm, waves mercilessly rocking the boat, dolphins frolicking in the morning sun, sweet sticky juice of ripe freshly picked persimmons running down your fingers, fat lazy cats meeting you in the marina or the sounds of a forgotten song that makes you stop near a nondescript cafe and sit on a stone parapet for a while, chatting and slowly sipping beer. .. This is a different attitude to life and others you to people. This is a world of friends and mutual assistance, general rejoicing from the beauty and magic of the moment you are in. It doesn’t matter who you are, what your profession is, what country you come from, what language you speak. There is only you, the boat, the sea and an unrealistically cool team. @yachting_time guys, thank you for these feelings!!! You are real! Looking forward to new travels!

    • Dmitry Morgan

My soul never ceases to rejoice

@dmitrymorgan My soul never ceases to rejoice, rejoice and admire the unexpectedly happened trip with @yachting_time, it became my most unforgettable and best vacation!

We were able to conquer the dream islands of ancient Greece. Each one is new and beautiful in its own way. Here you forget about everything!
The high professionalism of the captains and the ability to rally the team on board especially won me over!
      Waiting for the next invitation!

    • Ksenia Rylkova

This is not tourism – this is a way of life!

@rylechek I knew I would love sailing, but I had no idea how much!!! This is not tourism – this is a way of life! This is a fiery and incomparable feeling of freedom! These people love their job, have remarkable willpower, endurance and adventurism. I met many great guys and I am extremely glad that I was imbued and imbued with their feelings for the cause.
These are our guys, meet Alexander @yachting_time and Sergey @sergtfly
They arrange exciting adventures on yachts around the islands and countries. Exactly a year ago, Sasha and I decided to make a wedding project on a yacht, now we will actively develop it and show how you can relax and get married easily and with pleasure.
There were wonderful guys in our team, with the same active life position as we are @rubtsovstyle @artem_stanovskikh @alexpavlovsky⠀
And also thanks to our fiery couple in love @samarina262 @artart2009and their sincere feelings!!! Separately, my feed will be dedicated to your love.⠀
Our trip was fantastic, thank you!!!!

    • Ekaterina Brygina

All puzzles come together and you get the perfect picture!

@spika. studio “House of White Sheets…”
This is how one of my favorite songs starts with a breeze ..
On this trip I heard it from the other side.
Any work of art is distinguished by the presence of a “second semantic bottom”, so this song opened up for me from the other side.
Depending on the present moment, understanding and view can change dramatically.
For me, it was the first experience of a long trip on a yacht.
It was not like my boat trips for quick photo shoots – took a picture and is free.
This time I had the opportunity to feel a little bit about this topic and live in it!
Due to the constant lack of time and great desires, I myself would not have reached the point of trying it myself for a long time.
Many thanks to @weddecor.ru for the invitation and the fate that crossed us, allowing us to open new horizons))
Now I can say with full confidence that I recognized the water element and it is not at all as scary as it is depicted in films))
Great company @rubtsovstyle @artem_stanovskikh @alexpavlovsky also the comfortable climate of Greece, developed a new love in me))
It happens in life when all the puzzles come together and you get the perfect picture!

    • Ekaterina Dmitrieva

The most important thing is to meet new friends

@ dmitryushkaaaa Thanks to Sasha and Seryozha for our happy time) but seriously.

Monte Marina Naturist Resort Fuerteventura | Holidays to Canary Islands

Situated in the south of Fuerteventura with views over the delicate sands of Playa De Esquinzo, you can’t get much closer to the coast. As for your accommodation, expect an apartment style stay equipped with all the essentials.

Surrounded by the island’s tropics with a small and friendly atmosphere throughout, guests will feel at home in no time. This hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to relax away from the holiday crowds thanks to its remote yet peaceful setting.

    Traditional style apartments

Guest can kick back in a choice of rooms, whether they’re looking for a spacious stay with two separate bedrooms or balconies overlooking the sea. As standard, you can benefit from a living room complete with a comfy sofa, flat screen TV, small fridge, fully furnished balcony, free Wi-Fi and kitchenette.

For something a little fancier, you can enjoy all these in-room offerings alongside stunning balcony views. Watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean with rooms facing the sea or wake up to the sound of wildlife and the scent of fragrant flowers with stunning garden vistas reminding you of your naturist location.

    Buffet breakfasts and cocktails poolside

When you’re not making use of your in-room kitchenette, head for the hotel’s onsite restaurant and bar. The eatery is a short distance from some of the apartments, but the walk will be worth it once you sample its delicious food offerings and panoramic views of the beach.

Head here first thing and tuck into mouth-watering plates with its breakfast buffet offering freshly brewed coffee – a great way to start the day. As for evenings, Half Board guests can take advantage of its a la carte dishes, which range from Spanish to Mediterranean.

If you don’t fancy heading out and about, there’s also a cafe style bar onsite where you’ll find live music a couple of nights a week. This is also the place to grab a cocktail or two, a great addition when you don’t want to move far from your sunlounger for a cold drink.

    Relaxation meets action

Although not heated, the saltwater pool will feel like a warm bath during those toasty summer months. Sitting at the heart of the resort with ample sunloungers, you’re encouraged to stay all day. While, the hot tub and sauna is as relaxing as its facilities get. The area and its surroundings provide a sense of serenity with landscaped gardens and classic poolside palms providing some much-needed shade.

With little more than a ping pong table to get your heart racing, active holidaymakers should head for the coast. With tons of watersports on offer including kitesurfing, which the island is famous for, the thrills are endless. Sports fans will also be delighted to discover there’s an 18-hole golf course close by. Over in Jandia’s mountainous nature park, you can admire incredible volcanic terrain by foot.

*Please note this is not a naturist resort, however the nearby beach is clothing optional.

Sand and scenery on your doorstep

Not only are you in the Canary Islands, the land of eternal sunshine, but you’re close to some of Fuerteventura’s most stunning natural delights. Perched on the far-reaching Playa De Esquinzo Beach, there’s plenty of chance to soak the year-round sun.

There are a few restaurants and bars nearby, but Jandia is just 10 minutes down the road if you’re after a greater selection. This is also where you’ll find Playa De Esquinzo, a protected area filled with rocky headlands and interesting wildlife.

+: An excellent new hotel with a beautiful interior design, beautiful landscape design of the territory. Great spa, great kids area. Very tasty and varied breakfasts. Everything is great! The hotel serves delicious food. There are playgrounds for different ages, children’s and adult pools. There are tennis courts, football and basketball courts, table tennis tables. Lots of activities for children, including a children’s disco. For adults, various shows and entertainment programs are held in the evenings, although their level leaves much to be desired. The hotel has its own parking. The hotel is quite clean. -: The hotel has just an incalculable number of minuses that do not contribute to a comfortable stay.1. Unstable wifi. It keeps turning it off and asking to re-enter the password.2. The bed in the room is very uncomfortable. As we were told that comfortable large beds start with rooms of the category above, which are not available for booking on booking. com. Although we had a superior suite and apparently 6000 euros for two weeks is not enough to put a comfortable bed in the room with a good mattress

Good evening! We are back in working condition after the flight. In St. Petersburg, the sauna is hot + 30, humidity is almost 100%! We move very sluggishly. We looked at the photo several times. We are nostalgic … Thank you for your creative work! So many positive emotions! And I really want to come back! It’s great that we met such open, energetic and sunny Olavi and Eike! Low bow to you from St. Petersburg!

    Ekaterinburg Vladislav 03.09.2010

    Hello Olavi and Eike!
I won’t discover America about my impressions from my vacation in Tenerife, but nevertheless, first of all, only positive emotions remained due to your work. THANKS! GOOD FELLOWS!
I recommend sightseeing tours around the island to everyone. A lot of impressions in one day. Ordinary tours from excursion companies will be very boring and will be accompanied by various suggestions from guides related to increasing their material well-being.
Big apologies to the admirers of this island, but I prefer the expanses of Europe and Asia. The only thing I’m not sure is that I can find a good guide there.

The entire trip was superb! It was good spent money. I’ve been picked up in front of the hotel, driven to the northern part of Fuerteventura to take a ferry, taking new buses divided by language guide spoke. We enjoy visiting national park, tasting wines and having lunch break included. Guide was very interesting and informed us about concept of Lanzarote and how it all was due to local born artist Cesar Manrique and his foundation.

If you don’t know Lanzarote yet, you “must” have done this tour. During the drive, much is said about the history of the island and the art/culture of the inhabitants. The spots “Island Hilario”, “Playa el golfo” and “Jameos del Agua” are just some of the highlights of the tour.

If what you are looking for is an express trip to know the best of Lanzarote without wasting time, this is your experience. The departure from Fuerteventura is very well organized. The all-day tour of the island by bus makes your trip much easier and the Timanfaya National Park, El Lago Verde and Los Jameos del Agua will surprise you. Inés, our guide was great, she did not stop explaining curiosities and made the trip a pleasant experience.

Booked the excursion online and received messages s prior to the trip. It was good to have the cancellation option if needed. We were last pickup for the bus so had to wait a bit longer but was first stop on return. I thought it was slightly expensive but didn’t stop me booking as it was a chance to see part of lanzarote playa Blanca was lovely. It had lots of seafront shops and restaurants where we had a lovely lunch then spent time at the beach. The crossing was a wee bit rough but thoroughly enjoyed my day.

      A great day out

We really enjoyed the trip to Lanzerote. We only had the crossing and reserved a rental car in advance to explore Lanzarote. So we could explore the great island according to our own taste. The crossing was fun and fun. Return to Fuerteventura on time at the specified time.

The excursion was very nice. Lanzarote is worth a trip. The bus transfer worked well and the ferry ride was great. I can absolutely recommend it.
