What to do in Playa de las Americas – Places to visit & Attractions
Playa de Las Americas is Tenerife’s most popular resort and the best place on the island to stay if you are looking for clubs, nightlife, karaoke bars or any other form of entertainment.
1. Veronica’s Strip – The place to be for nightlife in Playa de las Americas
If you’re a party animal and you’re coming to Tenerife, then this is the best place for you!
The nightlife in Playa de las Americas is centered around Veronica’s strip, so this is the place to be if you want to party until morning hours. The real action starts after midnight and extends well into morning hours, so it’s not unusual to see people returning to their hotel rooms at around 6 or 7 in the morning. Drinks are cheap and music is loud, so you’ll see here lots of stag and hen parties in most bars and clubs. This makes Playa de las Americas the most popular resort in Tenerife for young people who are seeking not only a sunny break but also a bit of nighttime entertainment.
2. Piramide de Arona
Piramide de Arona
Speaking of entertainment… Piramide de Arona offers a different kind of entertainment, but still, it’s a popular establishment in the area and their show is now quite famous in Tenerife.
“Come to the Pirámide de Arona and see the performances of Carmen Mota, an artist and internationally renowned choreographer who has dedicated her whole life to Spanish dance.” (excerpt from Piramide de Arona website).
The current show in 2018 is called Antologia and performances are held from Tuesday through Saturday.
3. Light and Music Fountain on Avenida Las Americas
The Music fountain is situated in front of Piramide de Arone and it’s interesting to see during the daytime also, but it’s best to go there at night, when the music is playing and the fountain’s light and water show is at its best. Many people gather here in the evenings to see the fountain, so don’t miss it if you’re in the area.
Relax on one of the beaches in Playa de las Americas
During the daytime, you can either go to the beach, stay by the pool at your hotel or enjoy the best water park in the world. And on days when you want to be more active, you always have the option to get out and explore a bit more of Tenerife.
4. Playa Troya
Troya Beach, the most popular beach in Playa de Las Americas
Troya beach is actually the best beach in Playa de las Americas. This beach has all the facilities you need, from beach beds to showers and umbrellas. This beach is quite popular and does get crowded especially during the summer months. Playa Troya has calm waters and a smooth entrance to the water, so it’s good also for families with children.

5. Playa Honda
What to do in Playa de las Americas to relax? Spend a lazy day at the beach!
Playa Honda is situated between Playa Troya and Playa Camison in Los Cristianos and it’s not as popular as the other two, which both offer better conditions and more facilities. Playa Honda is a rocky beach, which is most popular with surfers and it’s not so much ideal for chilling in the sun.
6. Have a fun day at Siam Park
Siam Park is one of the top attractions in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife
A visit to Siam Park is a must no matter where you’re staying in Tenerife, especially if you love water parks and water slides. Named as the best water park in the world (according to Tripadvisor users), Siam Park is one of the best things to do in Tenerife for a day of intense fun and adrenaline.

7. Take a walk on the promenade to Los Cristianos
You can walk along the oceanfront between Los Cristianos and Las Americas and it would be a shame not to do it at least once. The town has history and was here even before the tourism boom, so it has a different vibe and atmosphere. You can try even spending the day on of the beaches or explore the market – there are just lots of things to do in Los Cristianos, as well as diverse bars and restaurants: you can try Mercado La Pepa (inside Passarela Oasis Shopping Center) for a diverse range of foods from different cuisines, so all the family can easily find something to eat.
8. Go on a boat tour to see whales and dolphins
There are lots of tours and boat trips available from Playa de las Americas
Did you know that the Canary Islands are a great destination for whale watching?
You can see these amazing mammals and also dolphins in their natural environment while sailing along the south-west coast of Tenerife on the only boat that has an underwater vision.

Playa de las Americas Tenerife
In the following article we present all activities and excursions in Playa de las Americas and who knows, it may be the right vacation spot for you.
The guided tours in Playa de las Americas
Not only are there countless water sports activities, but also a number of different land-based activities that start in this diverse city. These are without a doubt the most popular organized excursions in Playa de Las Américas:
Pirate ship: If sailing is an absolutely impressive experience in itself, imagine how great it must be on board a real pirate ship. With this imposing wooden cruiser, you also get to see the most important points on the south coast of Tenerife.
Dolphin watching: You can watch whales and dolphins from the deck and on some boats even explore the ocean ground without getting wet. With the glass bottom boats, you can marvel at the colourful swarms of fish underwater from the comfort of a seat.
Submarine: Dive into the deep with the popular “Yellow Submarine”. The Canarian waters are clear and full of life. You don’t have to be a diver to enjoy the marine diversity of the ocean floor.
Water sports: no experience required, just the desire for fun. Among other things, you can take a ride on the banana boat, fly while parasailing, take off with the flyboard or jump over the waves on a jet ski.
Diving and snorkelling: These activities must of course not be missing on this beautiful coast. Descend into the deepest depths under the guidance of true experts. Or discover the colourful underwater world from above while snorkelling.
On wheels: Playa de Las Américas is also the starting point for numerous excursions on land, on which you can discover the interior of the island or the coast. Either on a rustic jeep safari with all-wheel drive, very comfortably by coach or on an exciting off-road quad expedition. And if you want some exercise at the same time, choose a racing bike, e-bike or, for the more experienced among you, a mountain bike.
Teide National Park: Visit “Father Teide”, as the locals affectionately call him. You can hike up on a guided walking tour, or put on a helmet and cycle up on a bike. You can also sit in an air-conditioned bus and enjoy the ride with panoramic views.
The things to see in Playa de las Americas
Playa de Las Américas is the stronghold of tourism on the island of Tenerife. Here is a selection of the local attractions that you definitely shouldn’t miss:
Aqualand and Siam Park: The two well-known water parks delight young and old alike. There is a wide variety of restaurants, souvenir shops, live shows, and even animals such as dolphins. And of course, countless pools, slides and water games. The parks offer all day entertainment.
Arona Pyramid: An imposing building that is primarily used as a conference centre. All kinds of events and shows take place here. And the surrounding area is also worth a visit both during the day and in the evening.
Beach promenades: Just the thing if you feel like relaxing. The ambience also offers a real holiday flair. It smells like summer and there is something very peaceful about it. The ideal backdrop is certainly the sunset. There are different promenades and each one has its own charm. The Troya Promenade, Las Vistas or Francisco Andrade are a few examples.
The shopping possibilities in Playa de las Americas
If you are a shopaholic this definitely is the place for you. We’ll reveal a few hotspots where you have to go shopping. You will not be disappointed.
Shopping centers: The range of shopping centers in Playa de Las Américas is simply overwhelming. Even the Siam Park has its own: the Siam Mall. In addition to the best known, there are many more. There is the CC Zentral Center, Oasis, CC Vista Sur or San Telmo, to name a few.
Shopping streets: The most famous in the south of Tenerife is “La Milla de Oro” the Golden Mile. It is a kilometre and a half long street with one store after the other, just perfect for compulsive shoppers. In addition, you will find all kinds of shops and bazaars in the alleys between the hotel and the beach.
The Nightlife of Playa de las Americas
The city’s nightlife is notorious with parties going on until dawn and longer. In Playa de Las Americas you can go celebrate at the following locations:
Starco: There are dance halls, comedy theatres, cabarets, etc. All of this takes place in the various clubs and discos, from fun karaoke bars to the famous Hard Rock Café to the huge Tramps playing chart music, Irish pubs or RnB clubs. The Linekers Bar offers DJs and sports lovers can even watch the most important matches on huge screens.
Las Verónicas: It is one of the most popular party miles, there are only discos and bars. It is a street that borders on a commercial area, where one club is lined up after the other, is where you come to dance and drink.
Playa de Troya: Around the beach you will find various night clubs such as the famous Monkey Beach Club, where you can see the spectacular sunset with the island of La Gomera in the background, the Papagayo Beach Club with a view of El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera or La Terrazza del Mare, to indulge in some extremely good cocktails.
Things Worth Knowing About Playa de las Americas
The weather all year round in Playa de las Americas
It is one of the most famous cities in Tenerife and the temperatures are practically all year round between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius. The risk of rain is very low. It is a destination for sun and beach vacation with all that goes with it. With the prevailing climate, you can enjoy all that La Playa de Las Américas has to offer to the fullest, be it swimming, shopping or feasting. Make the most of your stay there, the weather will certainly not spoil your plans.
The beaches in Playa de las Americas and their features
Although the name makes it seem like this is one single beach, there are several in this resort, all man-made, with calm waters, and offering at least the minimal levels of service. Some with fine, light sand from the Sahara, others with volcanic sand in all possible shades of grey. Here you can find out which beaches you will find on the impressive coast:
El Bobo: Of volcanic origin, with fine, almost black sand and an urban flair. There are a variety of restaurants, a very quiet beach that is suitable for both singles and families.
Troy: It is the largest beach, although it is divided into two parts (Troy I and Troy II) with grey volcanic sand and blue flag for cleanliness. In the surrounding area you will find shops and bars as well as a tourist information office, a pedestrian zone and services such as car rentals and water sports centres.
Las Américas: It is the most popular beach and half a kilometre long. It is designed for vacationers and offers, among other things, the best and most famous restaurants, hotels and shops. A long street to grab a few snacks with the family during the day, to stroll, for a romantic walk at sunset for two or to immerse in the nightlife. This beach has it all.
Torviscas Beach: Black sand and calm, crystal clear water. There are services such as sun beds and a beach bar. It is ideal for a family day and for snorkelling.
Playa de la Pinta: With golden sand, no waves thanks to the barriers, so ideal and safe for small children. There are a variety of shops in the local area and beautiful marinas.
Some of the best hotels of Playa de las Americas
Here in Paya de Las Américas you will find a wide range of accommodation for different types of clientele: families, single travellers, couples, retirees, etc. The hotels are geared towards mass tourism. You can therefore find deals to suit all budgets, from five-star accommodations to cheaper options. This is a selection of the hotels we think are worth recommending:
Hotel Troya: The four-star hotel is, how could it be otherwise, on the beach of the same name. The staff is attentive and professional, the buffet varied, the rooms spacious, the services varied and the location simply excellent, whatever you want to do: beach, walks, nightlife, etc.
Vanilla Garden Hotel: Adults only. Here travellers without children can enjoy their stay in peace. The services are excellent: buffet restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, sundeck, fully equipped rooms, gym, etc. Gara Suites Golf & Spa: For all those who appreciate golf and relaxation. Very quiet area, comfortable, clean and spacious facilities. Buffet, playground, gardens, swimming pool, etc. surrounded by the beautiful Las Américas golf course.
Regency Country Club: Luxury accommodations that will take your breath away with sweeping views of the Atlantic and exquisite decor. It has a pool with a bar right in the water, a gym and a mini golf course. Since it is not located on the coast, it offers more tranquillity and it certainly has a free shuttle bus to the beach.
We wanted to introduce you to the most interesting hotels and excursions in general. The exact information about the things to do in Playa las Americas can be found below:

The Language Barrier
Communicating with the locals is always a concern when vacationing overseas. Not to worry! English is commonly spoken in Playa de las Americas. Of course, remote villages will have fewer English speakers, but if you’re on a tour, your tour guide will act as an interpreter. Or you could brush up on your high school Spanish!

Beaches
There is plenty of sand here! Playa de las Americas was built in the 1960s as a tourist destination and golden sand was imported from Africa to build up the beaches. You’ll also find native black sand beaches.
There’s something for everyone at the beach. You can rent a sun-lounger or just plop down on your towel on the sand. The waves are usually enough to give a surfer a workout. The miles of beach give a beachcomber plenty of room to roam. Children will stay busy for hours playing in the sand and surf.
Siam Park
Located 1.5 miles from the beach, Siam Park is a Thailand-themed water park offering 10 rides, 2 wave pools, a sand beach, a lazy river, and more. You’ll pass an exhibit area at the entrance with sea lions who eagerly welcome you. For excitement try the Singha, a water roller coaster with 14 direction changes, or the Dragon, a zero-gravity experience for 4 people in a clover leaf float.
The park is an easy drive from Playa de las Americas or you can ride one of their free shuttles (reservations required).
Nightclubs
If you’re looking for something to do at night, check out the nightclubs. There are dozens to choose from. Gay or straight. Young or not so young. DJ or EDM. You’ll find it here. The action picks up closer to midnight and lasts until the early morning hours.
A fun experience is the Music Hall Tavern Show, a comedy drag show. You’ll start with dinner. Once the dishes are cleared, the show takes off. The “ladies” participate in hysterical repartee among themselves and with the audience, sing songs, and provide a wild evening of entertainment.
Tours
You can lie on the beach only so much! How about a tour?
Mount Teide Park-see if by quad bike or hike
Mt.
Teide & Masca Valley Tour
The Mt. Teide and Masca Valley tour takes you halfway up Mt. Teide, the tallest peak in all of Spain at 12,198 feet. The variety of flora and fauna is remarkable because the micro-climate changes as you go up the mountain. Take your camera. The views are breathtaking!
After Mt. Teide, the tour winds through the Masca Valley on the northwest corner of the island. You’ll explore quiet villages, view the ocean from every angle, and visit the Dragon Tree, reportedly 1,000 years old!
Your tour guide is a fountain of information so get ready to learn.
Quad Biking
Want something more active? Get back to nature! Try a tour of a pine forest on a Polaris quad ATV.
The tours are limited to four quads, so you’ll receive individual attention. You’ll be transported to Vilaflor, a village a third of the way up Mt. Teide. Explore the village before heading out to ride through the forest on dirt roads on your quad bike. Your guide will know the forest and valleys like the back of his hand and will show you some amazing scenic spots along the trip. If you have a GoPro this is the perfect time to use it.
Masca Velley – a beautiflul area of Tenerife
La Gomera Day Trip
How about a day trip to La Gomera, a neighboring island? Much like Hawaii, each island of the Canary Islands has its own personality.
You’ll take the ferry across the strait to San Sebastian where your guide will show you the cathedral and the fortress built in 1470 before driving around the island while telling you about the history and culture of La Gomera. Lunch with wine is included. This is a chance to see the “real” Canary Islands.
Casinos
Not ideal for the kids of course, but if your idea of nightlife includes casinos, you’re in luck! The casinos are on a smaller scale than Las Vegas (much smaller!), but you’ll get your chance at roulette, blackjack, poker, and slots. There’s no dress code and admission costs €3. Hours of operation are limited so check out their website on the day you want to visit.
Golf
For the golf enthusiast, there are seven golf courses near Playa de las Americas. Each affords spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. Some feature black sand bunkers for an experience different for most golfers. Designed by the likes of Donald Steel, Seve Ballesteros, and Jose Gancedo, these courses will challenge every golfer, regardless of player ability.
Scuba Diving
It may be unexpected, but scuba diving here is among the best in the world. The water temperature ranges from 67° in March to 75° in September. The water is clear, the sea life is varied, and the volcanic formations underwater make for an exceptional experience. You can rent equipment at any number of dive centers.
Restaurants
There is every kind of restaurant in Playa de las Americas, but if you are looking for something unique, try The Treehouse. Located less than 10 minutes from the beach, it’s a true crowd-pleaser.
Funky is the only way to describe it. The floor looks like the pattern of a giraffe while there is lots of dark woods used throughout the decor. A band plays a couple nights a week. You can dine indoors or outdoors. The menu is extensive so everyone will be happy. Best of all, it’s an experience to write home about!
Conclusion
So, what are you waiting for? You couldn’t ask for a better vacation destination. Sun, sand, surf, culture, history, and activities galore. Whether you’re a single traveler, a couple looking for something different, or a family who needs something to appeal to everyone, you’ll find your ideal vacation in Tenerife Playa de las Americas.

This golden sand and crystal-clear waters beach, where vessels can be spotted in the distance, is in a peaceful natural cove, shielded from the winds by the fishing port. From here fishing and leisure boats set sail daily and from Los Cristianos ferry terminal, boats depart to the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro.

I love this beach. It gives me an authentic local vibe and it has everything you need for a day at the beach. It’s also not over crowded like the ones nearer to the touristy areas. beautiful beach , clean, you can find free shower , plenty of beach bars and restaurants for good price and of coarse sun beds and umbrellas water is not so warm Beach is with black sand and So we enjoy it so much and definitely recommend!

Definitely beautiful. Enough big also to have space. The sunset is amazing here, worth to watch it.
The umbrellas and beds cost 4 euro/piece, so also worth the price on very sunny days.
What is annoying that as usually in central points you find all kind of sellers, massage offers, etc passing around you, shouting and taking away the calmness of the spot. Maximum 13 minutes passed till a next offer arrives.

Food is expensive so take a picnic with you or there is a supermarket outside the park to buy baguettes etc.
Sun loungers are 2€ for the day.

Overall very enjoyable
Gary Mcloughlin — Google review
I went to Aqualand with a group of friends on Sunday, May 22. Adults and children; The youngest being 3 and the eldest 12. Some of us without kids.
Having read the reviews I was apprehensive but open minded. I read complaints about the place being old and rusty etc.
However, very pleasantly surprised we all had an amazing day.
We arrived around midday, no queue to get in. We located our friends, who were lazing around one of the many salt water pools. Sunbeds are extra to the entry price (€2 for the day).
The pools have an array of slides for younger kids. There are hydro therapy pools, which are great fun for all. Chill out zones, a dolphin show, food (although we took our own and had a picnic poolside, with the kids). The loos and changing rooms are clean. Announcements are made thought-out the day about various things – in English and Spanish. Don’t leave your belongings unattended. Do use the lockers if you need to send don’t bring valuable items. We were a large group and had no problems with accessing the pools or the larger rides.
There is a deal for a second visit but I didn’t read the conditions.
I would go again. In fact, I will go again!
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and loved watching the kids run free and enjoying themselves. Lifeguards and staff are clearly visible and helpful. Great fun.
KimKim Dight Iuffredo — Google review
January visit so please understand the review regarding outside temperature.
Dolphin Show (5 ⭐) Really enjoyable show.
The temperature of every pool was extremely cold. No heated pools so no children entered the water.
All slides have a minimum height restriction of 120 mm (apart from the kid’s area)
Walkways and steps to slides have damaged concrete. Extremely sore on young bear feet.
The price of food onsite is totally RIDICULOUS. €16 for nuggets / €16 Burger and only basic fast food at that.
Conclusion: If it’s not really hot, don’t go and when you do bring a picnic. 😉

Jungle park is an amazing and beautifully landscaped animal park with a large variation of birds, primates, reptiles and plant life. If you like birds you should definitely pay this park a visit! The birds of prey show is one of the best we have seen. The animals are well cared for.
Great park to visit with (small) children since they are able to meet the animals up close. Our boy liked the guinea pigs, monkeys and sea lions best.
Be aware that this park might offer a challenge for people with walking difficulties; you will walk a lot and via some steep routes.
Maikel Mocking — Google review
Great place to go with kids! The footpaths are well sheltered by trees so lots of shade to keep cool in. Some really good shows to watch and the Lemur walkthrough is great; you get really close to some very friendly Lemurs.
Great restaurant looking over the Sea Lion show area so if you time it right, you can get a great meal whilst you watch. Prices slightly high, but where isn’t at a place like this. However the quality and potion size redeems this completely.
Only thing stopping it being 5* was a lower number of animals than maybe expected.
Some on road parking outside of the car park if you want to avoid the €4 parking fee.
Sam Stoddart — Google review
Fantastic place to see a variety of animals. There are several well orchestrated shows hosted by trainers who share an abundance of interesting facts from their evidently extensive knowledge on the species that they specialise in.
I especially liked the Birds of Prey show where several raptors come soaring just a few inches overhead.

Otherworldly location, like on a different planet, “star wars/trek” vibes. Quite easy hike, some parts were a bit moderate (rocky and steep “ending”). No shade.

An amazing place with beautiful Rocks, Lava Stones and some really surrealistic formations. All the time fantastic View to el Teide and the valley. I recommend warm clothes also when the sun is shining, because the Wind can be very chill. Very recommendable!

Mountain cable car
Dramatic cable car ride over Spain’s highest volcano, offering views of the Canary Islands.
Slide 1 of 3
We booked the tickets (guided tour to platform) two months in advance. However, the day before the trip. We received a text message that the tour guide is not available but that we still can take the cable car.
Thus, we drove there and went to the counter. The man was friendly and said that we will get the refund transferred to the credit card.
The ride to the peak was OK. However, the view at the top was breath taking. It was the best thing that the tour guide wasn’t there. The paths are super easy to walk and we had enough time to take pictures wherever we wanted.

Absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful!
Booked trip tickets on the day (you can buy them only online), checked website for updates as recommended on the email, traveled there (1,5h each way) … and they not let anyone in to the cars as something freeze on the top station.
DEAR STAFF I think you are absolutely disrespectful to all tourists coming this morning to go on the top! You could easily put some information on you website that they are some technical difficulties (we would understand that, health and safety always first) with cars/cables whatever was frozen there. You could save our time and money by simple message on the website (or email) which you advertised in booking email as a source of updates.

Expensive for tourists (single €21, return €37). All booked through their clear and concise online portal.
What you do get for your money is a modern, reliable, regular, quality service with splendid views of the alien Tenerife environment.
NOTE: The food at their cafe is sublime. They stock quality goods in all their shops.

Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and the third largest active volcano. What an amazing day. The drive up is exciting as the roads are windy with steep cliffs. The views out over the island are fabulous. The volcano stands well above the lava fields and is so impressive. There was 1.5m of snow on the peak, so we’re unable go on the cable car. Definitely recommend visiting; it’s a must do and wear something warm.

Lovely area for hiking, spectacular views. Maps of various routes shown at parking spots, easy to follow trails with a variety of distances.
Worth taking a jacket as colder weather in the mountains.
Great roads for cycling.
You can take a cable car up to the top of the volcano but recommend booking ahead €37 per person.

Very beautiful place. Many breathtaking views all though the way to top of Teide. I do recommend to take w full hike. Its not so hard, even for a person who is not in great shape (I sit 10h in front of computer every day and I managed to go though all way up ). Remember to take hiking shoes and something warm, it can be really cold up there. The whole hike (through La Rambleta to the top) took about 5h. The cable car can be closed due to strong wind so check it out before you go anywhere 🙂

My 7th year in Tenerife and finally went to Teide!
What a lovely place to visit!
I went on a tour, so we we’re pretty rush, and only really had 1h up on the top (you can take a very expensive – nearly 40€ – trip to the top), and have 3 pathways – pico viejo, fortaleza and the very top.
To get to the very top you need a special permit, that needs to be acquired months in advance, so I didn’t went there.
I went to the fortaleza area and a tiny bit to the pico viejo, really had to rush.
It is chilly up there, unless you are on the sun, but still it was 5 degrees celcius while at the cost where like 25.
It has toilets up there as well as at the bottom we’re you catch the cable car. Both are very clean and free of charge.
This is a must go!
Please visit it, and get on a tour that explains everything about Teide and the island.
Our tour was great on that.

This is the highest place in Spain (3718 m) and one of the highest active vulcano in the world. If you like hiking I suggest to start from the montana Blanca parking lot. The route is amazing. You will need good clothes against the wind and the cold. Obviously the weather is depends on the seasons but important to have information about it. If the wind is strong the cable car is not working which is occurring quite frequently. So calculate that you have to walk down as well. However the view is so spectacular that really worth to visit it. During the last part of the trip you will need a permission! I will never forget this place because I engaged my bride here 😊❤️

Amazing zoo
There is a vast amount of animals and primates to see along with the amazing dolphin show and whale show.
My kids were amazed at the size of the Whales and how they were able to do the tricks and soak the visitors.
Myself and my partner were also really impressed. They had a large area to live and seemed well looked after and loved by there keepers.
The dolphin show was really fun too and we were amazed how fast they were and how high they can leap out of the water .
The other great highlights were the silver back gorillas and penguin enclosure. The gorillas were beautiful and posed for the camera. The penguin area did have a pretty bad smell but had staff spraying air freshener about .
On the whole this is a very tidy and well kept zoo and I will visit again next time we go to Tenerife.
Prices were reasonable with a coach to transport us to and from our hotel in the south of the island .
We really could of done with 2 days at the park as there was so much to see and do
Thanks for reading and please give me a like and follow me

Just amazing. .. I’ve visited Loro Parque recently and it’s definitely a must see when in Tenerife. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable and they make the experience so much better. The park itself has a lot to offer in regards to animals they have and showing research they do in effort to save wild animals. The concept is just amazing with ability to see animals from all sides and even have a part where you can walk amongst parrots. I’d recommend checking schedule for live events and plan your visit accordingly. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again!

Absolutely stunning setting! Loved the sea lion show, they’re definitely the dogs of the sea! Went to see their show twice! The grounds are immaculate, truly the most beautiful man made place I’ve been and masks are enforced across the park so we felt safe. The tree tops display is stunning, especially if you’re a bird lover! The jelly fish and shark tunnel had me mesmerized
The free yellow shuttle train from town center is a definite bonus!

Relatively nice place to visit. A shame that none of the pools were heated, it was a bit too cold for our 10 month old baby. Fine for us adults though. I still prefer the normal beaches but the waves there are too wild for my girlfriend and baby, so this was a good alternative so that they could go and swim.
There are deck chairs everywhere, nice to chill. The food unfortunately was very bad, the pizza verdura (7 Euros) obviously from a freezer, the fries (2 Euros) were very bland as well.

After visiting the south of the Island we came up to the North mainly for the fact it is greener than the south. We really enjoyed it up here except for the fact that due to covid, and lack of tourists, the area was dead thus many places closed. On top of that, we like to visit beaches, and even though the local beaches are great to watch as they are wilder they aren’t so nice to lie on for a spot of sunshine. But these salt water filled pools are a perfect substitute. For about 5 euros we got in for the whole day with a sunbed. Everywhere is clean and tidy and plenty of spots to relax and get some rays. In the morning the massive fountain is used to pump in fresh salt water to top up the pools which is pretty cool. We would definitely recommend and we will be back

What are the attractions in Las Vegas
0003 casino in blackjack, place a bet on roulette, or at least once go to one of the slot machines (they are also called one-armed bandits in the old fashioned way) that meet travelers right at the airport and are located on every corner of the city, as well as on the border with other states in border towns. Initially, after all, Las Vegas at the beginning of the 20th century was created as the gambling capital of the United States. However, today it has undergone great changes, and from small scattered casinos has grown into a rich collection of themed hotels and entertainment complexes for literally every taste, where not only bets are placed, but also go to concerts of famous singers, shows of popular artists and circus performers.

30 best attractions in Las Vegas – description and photo
City of sin, city of lights, city of neon signs – this is not a complete list of the names of one of the most amazing cities in the world, Las Vegas. Someone once stumbled upon an oasis in the Nevada desert and exclaimed in Spanish “Las Vegas!” (floodplain meadows!). And the Sierra Nevada – in the same Spanish means the Snowy Mountains located in this state.
Here is an amazing combination: “floodplain meadows” in a “snowy” area. In reality, Las Vegas is much more than nightlife, lights, hotels and casinos. There are many unusual museums in this city, and daytime life can be no less intense than nightlife. And, it turns out, in addition to tourists, ordinary people live here, most of whom are passionate patriots of their native city.
Strip Boulevard
Strip Boulevard.
Casino in Las Vegas on
every step, but most of them are on its main artery – the famous Strip.
Here are the largest complexes, each of which is
something independent-independent, fantasy-pretentious, something that can be
explore for days and do not want to leave even for a minute.
To endure
competition, you have to be sophisticated and use a whole set of baits that allows you to
survive. One of these lures is romantic and catchy names. Who doesn’t
want to live at least a week on the fabulous “Treasure Island” or right away
“Four Queens”?
Completely walk around
this 7-km section is unlikely to succeed, but even a short promenade anywhere on the Strip
turns into a fascinating journey through the immersed in colorful lights
avenue, where every building is a massive hit, every sculpture exudes
powerful magnetism, each fountain –
coolness and sparkle.
But do not forget that it is better to take such a walk in the evening, especially in summer: the oppressive heat of the day can quickly discourage this desire. Although, many hotels are interconnected (above and underground) by passages, and some – even by rail – to move around the city during the day without leaving cool rooms.

Bellagio Complex
Bellagio Complex. | Photo: Rocco Vitale / Flickr.
This is the name of the majestic complex, “a city within a city”, containing a sea of various rooms for every taste and budget, and almost as many restaurants, nightclubs, bars and casinos. In addition, it has its own art gallery, theaters, swimming pools, greenhouses and even the Botanical Garden, where as many as 140 gardeners take care of many plants.
They are ready to answer countless questions from visitors at any time, and there is something to ask about: after all, thematic plantings are often arranged in the garden, turning into bright flower shows.
But the main attraction of the Bellagio is its fabulous “dancing fountains”, spread out in front of the main facade of the complex and making a truly unforgettable impression. Continuously working, they shock even during the day, and at night they are real fireworks, combining the fusion of sparkling streams of water, light and music, constantly changing and therefore always different.

Hotel-Casino Stratosfera
View from the Tower of Hotel-Casino Stratosfera. | Photo: Miguel Discart / Flickr.
To attract visitors, many Vegas hotels try to be themed or boast some kind of zest that others do not have. The Stratosphere Hotel is no exception, and its highlight is the Stratosphere Tower towering over the city – the tallest of all towers located west of the Mississippi.
At the top of this 1,149-foot (350 m) tower is an observation deck from which you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Sin City. Since the tower is open until 1 or 2 am, don’t worry that you won’t make it in time. And it’s really worth doing: you won’t find a better place to admire the phenomenal panorama of Vegas.
Another option is to visit the revolving restaurant, which can greatly increase the impression of a dizzying view (especially if you ordered champagne). Even more, the tower is famous for its fantastic high-rise rides. This is what is truly amazing. But before throwing yourself from the height of the tower into the abyss of clouds, it’s worth stopping for a second and weighing your options: it seems that The Big Shot, Insanity the Ride, Xscream and The High Roller rides were invented for the most “reckless “.
Address: Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Caesar Palace Complex
Caesar Palace Complex.
The name of this complex speaks for itself – this is a truly imperial institution, the scale of which corresponds to its majestic ancient Roman style. Caesars Palace was designed and built in 1966 by Jay Sarno, who has dedicated his life to building hotels.
Sarno’s passion for gambling led him to Las Vegas, where he fulfilled his dream of building the most glamorous establishment the Strip could boast of at the time. “Caesars Palace” immediately and for a long time took the place of an unsurpassed thematic hit, in all corners of which the divine ancient Roman atmosphere rules the ball. To keep the title of the most elite not only on the Strip, but in all of Vegas, the hotel is often updated and reconstructed.
His fountains, pools, casinos and employees in Roman uniforms continue to set the tone among competitors needlessly contending with him. “Caesar Palace Casino”, mainly focused on “high rollers” (players making high stakes), opened its doors at the same time as the hotel.
It has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the city; and its luxurious gambling halls with dazzling interiors and enchanting lighting still appear in the films of the most famous directors to this day. It is enough to remember the casino scenes from “Rain Man” or “The Hangover” to feel all its charm.

Mirage Complex
Mirage Complex. | Photo: Joao Carlos Medau / Flickr.
This is another grandiose complex with 3,044 rooms, located on the famous Strip. Here, among other things, you can enjoy every evening the volcanic eruption taking place right in front of the facade of the building.
Although the sounds of this eruption are very plausible (because it is the soundtrack of a real volcano), its smells are just the opposite of real ones. Asphyxiating poisonous substances are replaced by the fragrant fragrance of the famous Pinacolada cocktail.
During the day, the volcano calms down, and in its place appears a lagoon surrounded by palm trees and orchids with bubbles and waterfalls. In the lobby of the hotel behind the reception is a huge aquarium with about 450 fish splashing around an artificial coral reef. At the Mirage concert venues, bright shows are often held and celebrities perform.

Then, right on the huge screen of the dome, something unimaginable begins to happen, accompanied by the lights of LED displays and loud music. The management of this amazing colorful show is completely computerized: 10 powerful computers are involved in this daily celebration, unfolding in front of the audience on an arch of 460 m2.

Venice Hotel and Casino Resort
Venice Hotel and Casino Resort.
Real Venice
famous for its canals and singing gondoliers, so during the construction
complex “Venice” this was given special attention.
The result has surpassed all
expectations, and now you absolutely do not need to go to Italy to visit
Venice. In the complex you will see absolutely all the Venetian
attractions: there are both canals and those brought from their homeland
gondolas with howling gondoliers, and St. Mark’s Square, and the Rialto Bridge, and
campanile.
While sailing through the canals, you will admire the buildings with balconies indistinguishable from the prototype, and you may want to visit the local shopping center, ingeniously named by the owners “Grand Canal”. All the walls and ceilings of the complex are painted with frescoes, as well as the huge halls of the Venice casino, where in 2010 the largest poker tournament among 872 players was held at that time.

National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement
National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement.
If you are wondering what else is there in Las Vegas that is really worth seeing while you are still here – do not forget to visit the 1st in the States (at the time of its opening in 2011) Mafia Museum. Located a stone’s throw from the famous Fremont, “Mob Museum” will help you learn all about those times when the mafia ruled not only Vegas, but all the States. This non-profit project explores the history of Vegas criminal structures from their inception to the present day.
A plethora of displays and interactive exhibits show how mafia channels helped transform Las Vegas from a mere railroad hub to an iconic entertainment capital. You will learn about famous gangsters and their girlfriends, underground bars that existed during Prohibition, and FBI agents.
The museum has a lot of chilling material evidence and exhibits donated to it by persons who prefer to remain anonymous. Those who wish can sit on a real electric chair or touch the instruments of violence loved by famous mafiosi.

Hotel Paris and the Eiffel Tower
Hotel Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
If you are a newlywed or
I just wanted romance, it’s not at all necessary to stay at the Paris Hotel.
It is enough just to walk its halls,
visit a local restaurant or casino, or just walk around and admire
to the nearby Eiffel Tower,
surrounded by other equally famous Parisian sights, such as the Arc de Triomphe or the balloon.
This half-sized copy of the Eiffel Tower would be the most truthful of all existing ones (and there are several of them in the world), if not for a couple of small flaws, which, nevertheless, do not detract from its merits. Like the original, the tower has cafes, restaurants and viewing platforms.
If you feel like adding some romance, a visit to the French-style restaurant on the 46th floor will make it easy. A glass elevator rises to a height of 140 m, from where a breathtaking panoramic view of Vegas opens. Don’t recognize any landmarks? Don’t worry, there is always someone on the tower; he will gladly tell you about everything you see. Many prefer to visit the tower at night, when the city that never sleeps is lit up like a Christmas tree.

New York Hotel and Casino
New York Hotel and Casino. | Photo: wikimedia.
Actually, accurate
the name of this complex, as in the famous song – “New York, New York”. Exactly
this melody sounds like a refrain in the ears of those who see this complex, consisting of several smaller copies of the famous New York skyscrapers, against which
all other symbols of the city were erected: the Statue of Liberty, Coney Island Park,
Brooklyn Bridge, and of course
famous rollercoaster.
The Big Apple roller coaster is definitely not for the faint of heart. However, this popular attraction, with the world’s first 180-degree twist and free fall, attracts almost 1.5 million thrill-seekers every year. If you want to ride 67 mph, climb 180 miles, fall deep and long, and flip upside down frequently, you’re more than welcome here.

MGM Grand Hotel and Casino
MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.
As befits a complex with such a name (“grand” means great, grandiose), all the objects of this entertainment center claim to be superlatives. At least, this was the case at the time of its construction: in 1993, it was considered the largest American hotel with the largest casino in the world at 16 thousand square meters. meters.
It was the first hotel in the world to open an airport check-in service: during the baggage waiting phase, you can already get your room key. Like all other components of the MGM mega-corporation, the MGM Grand complex is instantly recognizable by the 45-foot bronze lion statue that flaunts in front of its entrance.
It immediately reminds you of the symbol of the MGM film studio flashing in the films. Well, if not, you will remember this when passing through its main entrance, imitated under the head of a lion, or seeing an enclosure with lions located on the territory of the complex. The MGM Grand Casino, as well as the hotel itself, has long held the title of the largest. In general, while exploring the infrastructure of the complex, you will get lost several times, each time wandering into a new place that you are unlikely to want to leave quickly – for example, hitting a winding super-long river lazily flowing among fresh palm trees.

Shark Reef Aquarium
Shark Reef Aquarium.
This is not an ordinary aquarium for exotic fish, but rather a huge transparent enclosure for bloodthirsty ocean predators. Located in the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the aquarium is designed in such a way that you forget that you are walking through its transparent tunnel.
It starts to feel like you are sailing in the company of sometimes cute, but more often monstrous marine life: giant turtles, sawfish, piranhas, jellyfish, and, of course, ferocious sharks collected from all 4 oceans.
In order to cover all aspects of the ocean, the organizers have divided the aquarium into 14 themed areas, representing even such aquatic life as reptiles. Crocodiles, snakes and lizards feel very good here: the conditions of the aquarium are as close to natural as possible. And the feeding of 15 sharks living here has been turned into a real show, which is attended by a surprisingly large number of people.

Red Rock Canyon Reserve
Red Rock Canyon Reserve.
This nature reserve is only 24 km from Vegas, so deciding to take a day trip out of the city to admire the beauty of the “Red Rock Canyon” turns out to be an easy and simple thing to do. Moreover, the Red Mountains, in which the canyon is located, often attract the attention of many tourists who are in Vegas – because they, due to their proximity, are visible from almost anywhere in the city.
The mountains are really red, especially at sunset, and if you happen to be nearby, then you have a happy opportunity to watch the change in all shades of this color and enjoy the natural beauty and harmony of nature. That is why the reserve attracts 1 million tourists annually.
The road through the Red Rock Canyon meanders and winds, taking travelers to the most beautiful places, overlooking red rock formations that create intricate patterns. Through the efforts of sandstone and the so-called “capstones” clinging to each other, whole walls, peaks and mountains are laid out.
Some of them reach a height of 910 m and become a real attraction for climbers. The highest point of Red Rock Canyon is Mount La Madre at 2,485 m, and there are a great many routes along the canyon – as many as 26, and each leads to a completely new, unique landscape.

Wynn Las Vegas Complex
Wynn Las Vegas Complex. | Photo: Derek Purdy / Flickr.
The construction of this complex cost its owner almost 3 million dollars. At the time, it was the largest private building project, but Steve Wynn was experienced (for example, the Bellagio complex was also “the work of his hands”), rich and confident of success.
The main attraction of the complex is a tropical waterfall falling from a huge green mountain near the walls 49-storey facade. For a long time, the hotel hosted an art gallery for Vinn, a passionate collector, but now many of its exhibits are dispersed throughout the complex.
Huge floor-to-ceiling windows in every room of the hotel, thanks to this design, the building looks like a huge curved tinted mirror. The hotel has many awards, the enumeration of which could take a whole paragraph, so it is enough to mention at least 5 Michelin stars and the title of the best hotel in the prestigious Zagat rating.

Luxor Las Vegas Complex
Luxor Las Vegas Complex. | Photo: Vincent Lammin / Flickr.
You’ve almost certainly seen a photo of Luxor somewhere on the Internet, the unusual pyramidal design of which clearly distinguishes it from the more traditional architecture of the city. The similarity of the hotel with the Egyptian pyramid cannot be overlooked, which is probably why it was named after the Egyptian city of Luxor.
It is difficult not to get lost and to find your bearings in the many rooms and services of this huge complex, so the so-called “Tour of the Nile” is organized for guests, showing them all the parts of a complex entertainment “organism”. It seemed to the owners of Luxor that all this was not enough, and they decided to surprise everyone with one more curiosity. At the top of the pyramid was installed the brightest light source, which is perhaps the most powerful light beam in the world. It is said that on a clear day it can be seen with the naked eye from an aircraft flying over it at an altitude of up to 440 km.

LINQ Promenade Mall and Ferris Wheel

“LINQ Promenade” is a shopping and entertainment
pedestrian pier in 200,000 sq. feet, located on the central section of the Strip. Here you can
great to walk, go shopping, have fun and dine.
Brooklyn Bowl is located on the jetty at 2
000 people, where entertainment performances and shows are often held. If you
want to spend more time outdoors, sit by the fountain or
play 32-lane bowling – head to the LINQ Promenade.
But that’s not all. Since 2014, the LINQ Promenade has been operating the world’s highest Ferris wheel, the High Roller, which allows you to admire the city from a height of 167 meters. Due to its size, a complete rotation is completed within a full half hour, and up to 40 people can sit in each of the booths. In the evenings “High Roller” becomes an active participant in city illumination, illuminated by 1500 LED lamps.

Flamingo Las Vegas Casino Hotel
Flamingo Las Vegas Casino Hotel. | Photo: wikimedia.
Founded in 1946 by mobster Bugsy Siegel, the Flamingo Las Vegas is one of Las Vegas’ veterans, although little of the original building remains today. Now in its place flaunt 4 modern skyscrapers, in 3,500 upgraded rooms which are dominated by a combination of pink and gold.
The pink color prevails in the design of all the premises of the complex, and this is not an accident, but a tribute to its legendary symbol – the pink flamingo, whose feathered flocks have been walking around the lawns of the park around the hotel for several decades. The history of the Flamingo Casino began in the same 1946 year. For Siegel, the casino was a very successful investment, which, however, did not prevent his assassination in 1947.
In addition to founding the complex, Bugsy was involved in too many things and paid for it with his life. There are many legends about the rapid development of events in the last years of Siegel’s life, and one of them is about why the hotel and casino was given this name. Everything is very simple: the girl Bugsy had the nickname Flamingo, he began to call her that for her beautiful long legs. The casino has not forgotten its founder: a plaque in memory of B. Siegel still hangs on its walls, and a few years ago the Baggy’s bar was opened.

Neon Museum
Neon Museum. | Photo: Shawn Harquail / Flickr.
Although this open-air museum exists in the city not so long ago (since 2012), nevertheless, it occupies a plot of land of almost 2 acres (0.8 hectares). For downtown Fremont, that’s a pretty decent square, but the success of the Neon Museum has given it the right to do so.
Where else can such a museum be located, if not in the city of lights and neon advertisements? Enthusiasts of the city cherish such a peculiar cultural heritage of Vegas, because most of the signs are original, have not yet passed through the hands of restorers, and therefore, are of particular value.
Some are from establishments that no longer exist, or those that have undergone several restorations, but the legends about them live on. Like, for example, a historical model of a flower from the notorious Flamingo Hotel or a huge skull from the Treasure Island complex.
Iridescent neon images serve as an excellent photo decoration, so the museum is often used for various events, and for newlyweds for photo sessions. If you want to know the history of each sign and listen to urban legends and jokes, you can book a special guided tour that runs only once a day (the rest are self-guided).

Adventuredome Amusement Park

The Adventuredome indoor amusement park is located at the Circus Circus complex. It covers an area of 20,000 sq. m., where all entertainment takes place under a huge pink dome, each section of which weighs 140 kg. Both children and adults will be able to find here what they like best – both literally and figuratively.
With such a large selection of attractions, you want to try everything, but it can take a whole day, and involuntarily break out your appetite, which can be quenched here, at the local food courts. For thrill-seekers, the Adventuredome has the tallest indoor double loop roller coaster called the Canyon Blaster.

Gardens at Springs Reserve
Gardens At Springs Preserve.
If you are a little tired of
casino and city noise, it’s time to go to nature. Reserve
Springs with an area of 73 hectares is located just 5 km from Las Vegas. That’s why
a trip to this oasis among the desert valleys surrounding the city will
very short and will give you a lot of fun.
You are not in the reserve
you can only walk along its many themed trails, but also
admire the local Botanical Garden dedicated to desert plants,
visit an innovative interactive exhibition with cognitive laboratories, and
even an outdoor amphitheatre.
In addition, the reserve is home to the Nevada Museum of Natural History, which was completely relocated from Las Vegas in 2008. Its premises in more than 1 thousand square meters. m store a lot of natural exhibits about the history of the region and the development of sources (springs) that feed the nearby reservoir, which, in turn, provides water to Vegas standing in the middle of the desert.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway Complex
Las Vegas Motor Speedway Complex.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is located 24 km north of the Strip. 1200 acres of land are dotted with all sorts of tracks for all existing modes of transport. “Speedway” is a permanent venue for NASCAR races and a host of other high-speed events.
Speedway is a great way to add the missing adrenaline. It hosts a 3-day rave festival every year, which has already been visited by 345,000 people. If this is not enough, and the money has not yet run out, you can rent a real racing Ferrari for a certain amount and try to feel like a real racer.

Madame Tussauds

Vegas Madame Tussauds is located on the Strip, next to the escalators leading to the Venice complex. If this is not your first Tussauds, then it’s up to you … Although each of these museums strives to do something that the others do not have, and the Vegas Wax Collection is no exception.
You may not be very surprised by the almost real Michael Jackson or Pink, but the feature of the local museum is the stars who were related to Vegas or were born in it. With them, as well as everywhere, you can take a picture. But is it possible to interact everywhere? Here – you can, because some of these shapes are interactive. Is it possible to interact with a topless figure? Or can things go no further than the photo? You can learn about this only by visiting the museum. At least that’s what a lot of people say.

Excalibur Hotel-Casino
Excalibur Hotel-Casino. | Photo: wikipedia.
“Excalibur” – in English “magic sword”, and it is known for certain that the famous King Arthur owned such a sword. Therefore, looking at these Gothic turrets, it immediately becomes clear that the Excalibur hotel is themed.
While the opulent interior design makes anyone feel like they’re in a medieval castle, the amenities are super modern and the prices can sometimes be quite reasonable. The hotel is famous for its unusual shows: there is, for example, a medieval male strip show. Restaurants also try to be “on the level”, the more bizarre they are, the more popular. Particularly successful is, for example, one where the waiters behave comically impudent.

Palazzo Hotel and Casino
Palazzo Hotel and Casino. | Photo: wikimedia.
The complex, built in 2008, gained insane popularity in a matter of years. Already at the design stage, the ambitious plans of this younger brother of Venice caused some distrust, which later turned into outright envy.
Suffice it to say that this building is still the tallest building in Nevada (196 m), and the entire complex continues to be considered the 2nd largest in the world. Each, even the smallest, detail bears the imprint of the luxury of the Italian Renaissance. “Palazzo” looks down on his sophisticated fellow, trying to compete with him.
His restaurants, casinos and even just the lobby do not know the word “rivalry”, a sense of superiority is inherent in him from birth. The two huge multi-storey Palazzo casinos were designed for high rollers from the very beginning, but the wide selection of games and the high limit of machines tempt players of all stripes. And some are attracted by the local chic mall with boutiques of 60 of the most exclusive brands.

Pinball Hall of Fame
Pinball Hall of Fame. | Photo: Kent Kanouse / Flickr.
Americans love pinball (the game of billiards on the machine), and, probably, that is why one of them decided to collect a collection of such machines, and then donate them to this unusual museum for free. Entrance to it is free, and the price for playing on any machine, from the antediluvian 1950s to the modern one, is purely symbolic.
The museum’s entire income goes to charity, and you have a unique opportunity to save money and save your nerves. Of the 200+ machines collected here, you will surely be able to choose the one that suits your taste. Take a few seconds of your time to read the history of your favorite machine: when it was made, where it was installed, and how it was restored.

“Welcome to Las Vegas” sign
“Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. | Photo: Vincent Lammin / Flickr.
Among the neon signs that have captured the city, there is one familiar to everyone. It is from here that the famous Strip begins, penetrating the whole of Vegas from west to east. The first thing that greets travelers at the entrance to the city is, thanks to cinema and the Internet, the world-famous words “Welcome to fantastic Las Vegas!”
This is how designer Betty Willis decided to decorate his legendary sign informing motorists about the beginning of the city when he was given the task of identifying the sign in the late “fantastic fifties”. Now this sign is a kind of museum exhibit, next to which every tourist who enters the city wants to be photographed.

Container Park

Container architecture
gaining momentum around the world. She did not bypass Las Vegas, where in 2013
a Container Park was created, completely assembled from containers.
The capacity of cubic rooms created using technology such as
as a rule, not very large, but just such a goal was pursued – to give
opportunities for local small businesses to grow. And not anywhere, but
in the very center of the city.
Finding the Container Park is very easy, you will immediately notice it by the fire-breathing whiskers of a huge metal mantis grasshopper at the intersection of Fremont and 7th Street. The park has many installations, souvenir shops and boutiques, cafes and restaurants. A large playground is protected from the scorching sun (which is in Vegas almost all year round) with an awning, and in the evenings bars, entertainment venues and a cinema come to life here.

Las Vegas, USA – Tour Guide
Las Vegas is a city that needs no introduction. This is the center of gambling and entertainment not only in America, but throughout the world. Tourists from all countries come here to lose their capital or, by a lucky chance, win large sums. Located in the middle of the desert, this place is full of vitality. Las Vegas, like a large amusement park for adults, is able to fulfill your every whim: from the desire to run the famous Bellagio fountains, to the opportunity to frolic in a huge sandbox on a real bulldozer. As the Americans themselves say: “Wherever you go, you will still come to Las Vegas.”

Las Vegas neighborhoods
Few people know, but all the casinos are not in Las Vegas, but in the neighboring city of Paradise. But this division is purely arbitrary, and this small town has long been the central area of Las Vegas. It is in it that everything that you went to the heart of the desert for: casinos, concert halls, hotels and other entertainments is concentrated.
All areas outside the central part are called Downtown. For a tourist, they can be dangerous, because. robberies often take place here. Local guides also do not recommend settling in Downtown if the budget is limited. It is better to choose an inexpensive hostel room, but within the central part, which is guarded by the police.

Las Vegas cannot surprise you with ancient architecture and old castles. But you don’t want to come here for that, do you? In the “sin city” you need to abstract from the usual concept of “sightseeing” and consider this place as the scenery for the best vacation of your life.

Population of Las Vegas
Las Vegas ranks 28th in the United States in terms of population. More than 60% of local residents are white Americans, 25% are Hispanics, 13% are African Americans, and less than 1% are Indians.
The locals are friendly, like most Americans, but you have to understand that tourists here are treated like people who come to spend a lot of money. That is why be on the alert and do not blindly trust the first person you meet. According to statistics, every second casino employee is a pickpocket.
Brief history
Las Vegas is located in the western United States, in the state of Nevada and is the capital of Clark County. The Mojave Desert stretches around the entire circumference here, so approaching your destination, you admire the desert landscapes.
In 1829, a trading caravan settled here, which followed to Los Angeles. The wanderers set up a small camp and, by a lucky chance, were able to find an oasis with water. The discovery gave the name to the city, which means “fertile valleys”.
The rapid development of the region began in 1844, and the official date of the founding of Vegas is May 15, 1905. Previously, railway lines, refueling stations ran on these lands, and nuclear weapons were tested in the desert. There was one hotel in the city where visitors could try their luck at the casino.
Everything changed in 1931 when Nevada became the first state to legalize gambling. This was done to inflow money into the treasury and increase the population, and the local authorities were right.
After the Second World War, Las Vegas began to attract tourists with an unusual sight – the so-called “nuclear mushrooms”. Just 100 km from the city there is a test site where nuclear weapons were tested and explosions could be observed directly from the windows of houses and hotels. At present, the explosions have already been stopped, but tourist excursions to the site are held and they are very popular.
Today, Nevada is in the TOP of the largest and richest states in America, and money is pouring in Las Vegas. 97 $/night
The best time to visit Las Vegas
, rains and frosts here are extremely rare phenomena. Temperatures are very high throughout the year. The hottest months are from June to August. The thermometer at this time can reach +47 ° С.
Most of the precipitation falls in winter, but the air temperature rarely drops below +12 °C. We can definitely say that Las Vegas is a year-round resort where you can safely come at any time.
Useful Notes
You will need a US visa to visit America. At a meeting with the consul, you should not brag about your English and the mass of acquaintances in the States. Better say that you know the language mediocrely and want to go to Las Vegas to try your luck. In 90% of cases, consuls give a visa.
Las Vegas is an expensive city, if you want to save on accommodation, check into a hotel from Sunday to Thursday, the price is halved during this period.
Do you want to get married? Such ceremonies are held in The Little White Wedding Chapel or Chapel of the Flowers. To get married, you will need your passports and Marriage License for $60.
America is famous for its strict laws. Persons over the age of 21 can enter the casino or drink alcohol, so always keep your passport with you.
Free breakfasts in hotels are not popular here, but you can buy a “special deal” pass to all buffets in certain hotels and restaurants. It costs $50 and is valid for 24 hours.
Would you like a free drink? Sit down to play in the casino and do not forget to call the waitress. But in order to bring you something intoxicating, be sure to tip her, preferably in chips. Even a one dollar chip is enough.
What a tourist should do in Las Vegas
- Wander the streets of Vegas. Everything interesting begins with the advent of darkness. The day is a great time to get to know the scenery, decoration and feel the cinematic mood of the city.
- Climb to the highest point. The Stratosphere Hotel’s observation deck offers scenic views of the city. From a bird’s eye view, Las Vegas looks very tiny, especially against the backdrop of the desert that surrounds it on all sides.
- Feel like an extreme on the roof of the Stratosphere Tower. There are 4 attractions that can provide an adrenaline rush for the next couple of years: X-Scream, Insanity the Ride, The Big Shot and Sky Jump are waiting for their daredevils.
- Fulfill a childhood dream and get enough of sweets and soda. In Coca Cola and M&M’s stores, you can try all the forbidden sweets for free and buy a variety of souvenirs – from cups to T-shirts and gift sets.
- Leave the city and visit the Grand Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world and the most amazing geological phenomenon. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
- Immerse yourself in the city’s nightlife. In addition to numerous casinos, tourists are offered an extensive show program, with paid and free concerts. You can’t go past branded cocktail glasses, magic shows and, of course, numerous musicals.
- Get married in one of the local churches. They say “what happened in Vegas stays in Vegas”. If you like unusual antics, why not have a wedding where Elvis Presley himself will be a witness, and you can file for divorce the next day.

TOP 8 main attractions in Las Vegas
The bright city is the best place to get used to changing time zones if you travel from the European part of the mainland. The time difference between Moscow and Las Vegas is 11 hours, the capital is ahead. Thus, at the time when it is morning in the capital of Russia, it is night in Vegas. It won’t be easy to get used to.
Welcome Sign
At the beginning of almost any movie set in Vegas, the audience is sure to see this famous sign – “Welcome to incredible Las Vegas.” It was developed in 1959 by designer Willis. Betty himself did not want to copyright it and the sign has since been actively used on postcards, magnets and other souvenirs. The sign was made in the American Googie style and was added to the National Historic Places Register in 2009.
Surprisingly, the sign is more than 5 kilometers from Vegas, so the sign has its own parking lot for tourists.
The sign has copies, and if you want to see the original, you should know in advance where it is located – in the southern part of the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas Strip
The most famous boulevard with a length of 7 kilometers. Acquaintance with the city is best to start here in the evening and at night. Here the essence and soul of the “Sin City” is revealed. Previously, the city authorities allowed casinos to open only in the central part of the city, and local entrepreneurs had to open the city with blackjack and … no, brothels were banned here in 2008.
The street is a long boulevard lined with famous hotels. Once here you can see the Eiffel Tower, the glass pyramid of Cheops, the Sphinx, the Arc de Triomphe, the Brooklyn Bridge and many other copies of famous buildings. Most of them are part of hotels, for example, in the Hotel Paris Las Vegas, tourists live in a copy of the Parisian Hotel De Ville overlooking the most popular places in the French capital. This allows you to feel the European flavor without leaving the United States.
High Roller Ferris Wheel
You can view the entire city from a height of 170 meters from the cabin of the High Roller Ferris wheel. The wheel is considered the largest in the world. Each cabin can accommodate up to 35 people, which is quite unusual for people who are used to riding in a tight circle. The view for only 30 dollars opens up a stunning imagination.
Fremont Street
The second, but not least, street in Vegas. It is located in the city center and is the birthplace of the gambling business. Once here, you will feel the spirit of excitement and understand people who are passionate about poker. Bright lights, thousands of slot machines and tables for card games will not leave anyone indifferent.
You can meet all sorts of people on the street, from celebrities to the homeless. People dress the way they like and the crowd looks fabulous. It is better to come here at night, when casinos open and thousands of dreamers rush to the “one-armed bandits”.
Casino Luxor
Anyone who has been or will visit Vegas must see the Pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx as imagined by the hotel’s designers. The glass pyramid, about 100 meters high, from the top of which light, visible from the Earth’s orbit, beats at night, is an amazing sight.
Living in a hotel is an expensive pleasure, but no one will forbid you to walk around the territory and take pictures. You can also go to the local casino here. Area 10 thousand square meters. m, on which there are 1,500 thousand gambling machines.
Red Rock Canyon
People who are tired of nightlife and want to relax in nature should go to the canyon. You can drive here from Vegas in just 30 minutes, and you will find yourself in a completely different world. The canyon itself is small but picturesque. Red sand, minimum vegetation and mountains. If you’re lucky, you can meet representatives of the local fauna – sand foxes, lizards, chameleons.
The territory is carefully guarded by the authorities, the entrance is paid. There is parking and a cafe.
Museum of Natural History
A sightseeing tour of the history museum is good food for thought. Usually, with the word “museum” people imagine a boring place with exhibits behind glass. It’s different in Vegas. In addition to stuffed animals, from dinosaurs to elephants, here you can also play water games, feel like a doctor or a scientist. Of course, all these entertainments are more aimed at the children’s audience. But adults will also find it interesting.
Las Vegas motor circuit
Going to Vegas and not going to the races is bad manners. Expensive cars, breathtaking sights and speed await visitors from different countries. For those who want to feel like a racing rally pilot, they provide such an opportunity. For 200-300 dollars you can rent almost any racing car. A special safe track and an instructor are provided for skiing.
Fans of racing will definitely like it here, and the rest can just take a walk, look and take pictures with Ferrari as a keepsake.
