Try snorkeling and you will be surprised by how easy it is to enter a world that you would have never expected to be so fascinating.
One sea creature in particular will catch your attention: the sea turtle. Five different species of sea turtle call the waters around Tenerife their home. Their length varies from 90 centimeters to up to 2,70 meters! The two most commonly seen species are the loggerhead turtle and the green turtle.
These magnificent animals can be found very close to the coast and are a frequently encountered companion while snorkeling.
All you need for snorkeling is a nice spot and the ABC-equipment which includes diving goggles and a snorkel. Flippers are optional, they are only used to increase your swimming speed.
With this equipment you can see the underwater world clearly and won’t miss a second of all these beautiful impressions. Due to the all-season mild climate snorkeling is possible 365 days a year.

El Puertito
At El Puertito a.k.a. Turtle Bay, the ocean has a depth of up to 12 meters. As you might have guessed, this spot is particularly well known for its sea turtles! Turtles can be seen at a depth of eight meters all year round. The terrain is made up of a rocky reef. One important fact to keep in mind is that El Puertito can only be reached by car.
Tenerife has a huge amount of car rental companies. The average price is between 15€ and 25€ per day.
How to get there: Over TF-1 to TF-47 direction Playa Paraíso, then the second exit on the left to El Puertito.
Playa de las Vistas
La Playa de las Vistas is an artificial beach with fine white sand.
Here you can enjoy amazing visibility and a colorful fauna and flora. The beach is located between Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas and combined with Playa Los Cristianos it forms the longest beach in Tenerife.
Due to its proximity to Playa de Las Américas it’s very easy to reach this spot by bus.
The bathroom facilities are nice and clean. Apart from snorkeling there are a lot of other activities available, like surfing, hang-gliding and jet-skiing. The best places for snorkeling are a located little further away from the shore. There you have a higher chance of spotting turtles and rays.

Playa de la Arena
Playa de la Arena is located in the outskirts of Puerto de Santiago.
It’s a beautiful black sand beach and the perfect place to discover the underwater world because of its crystal clear water. The beaches are kept clean at all times.
Playa de la Arena received the Blue Flag in 1989 which means its cleanliness has been certified since then. You can change and stow away your clothes and belongings. It’s a nice place for singles as well as families.

Playa del Duque is a perfect place for snorkeling. The ocean is shallow so you can enjoy the wonderful view underwater without any trouble.
It is located in the south of Tenerife and there is a very small but nice bay with lots of sunshine and cosy temperatures.
The beach and its surroundings are nice and quiet even though bustling Playa de Las Américas is very closeby. At this beach there are no guided tours and you have to go snorkeling on your own. But surely you can find lots of other people who want to go snorkeling in a group.

El Puertito

El Puertito, in the southwest of Tenerife, is widely regarded as one of the best places for snorkelling on the island. It is a small bay, not far from Costa Adeje and Playa Paraíso, and is easily accessible by car for tourists staying in these areas’ many hotels and resorts. El Puertito is particularly renowned for its many turtles, including the large herbivorous green turtle species. Many people come here to snorkel and swim, so if you are seeking a more secluded experience, try a more isolated beach. Plenty of organised snorkelling tours can be found at El Puertito. Alternatively bring your own equipment and discover the bay’s marine life for yourself.

The artificial Playa de las Vistas boasts crystal-clear waters thriving with bright fish and fascinating underwater flora.
It is possible to swim out from shore and find fascinating sights for yourself, although tours are available to take you out to sea in a boat and provide all the equipment at reasonable prices. By venturing into deeper water you are more likely to see rays, turtles and larger types of fish. The fine sand of Playa de las Vistas can be found on the southwest coast of Tenerife, between Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos.

Another charming and well-maintained beach, Playa de Radazul is popular with tourists and locals alike for its snorkelling. The main bathing areas are protected by a breakwater so the water is very calm, though the open ocean is accessible for those seeking deeper waters. Playa de Radazul is just 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the capital, Santa Cruz, on the northeast coast of Tenerife.

As far west as you can go while remaining on Tenerife, Punta de Teno is well worth a visit for its unrivalled views of Los Gigantes. But this nature reserve is also an idyllic place for snorkelling, offering small bays, myriad rock pools and a small reef to those willing to plunge beneath the water’s surface. The ocean can get rough here at times, but staying in the shelter of the bays should alleviate the danger. Follow the TF-445 west towards the Punta de Teno Lighthouse. Plenty of parking is available nearby.

Snorkeling In Tenerife – Top 5 Beaches and Marine Life

Tenerife is located off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean and is the largest of the Canary Islands, which are a part of Spain (feel free to also read my article about snorkeling in Spain).
Nearby popular islands for tourists are Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote (listed from west to east). Sidenote: I do like snorkeling in Fuerteventura, the link will take you to my review. The volcanic island Tenerife hosts many beaches, covered in either black or white sand.
For us snorkelers, one of the downsides is that you won’t find colorful corals. The only coral is called the “black coral”. However, this type of coral usually lives in the deeper parts of the ocean. In other words, if you’re a coral fanatic, Tenerife could disappoint. On the other hand, the water does offer a marine life which includes 3 types of sea turtles (the Atlantic Green, the Leatherback and the Loggerhead).
Expect a lot of rocky areas. If you’re going, protective water shoes for snorkeling could be of great help. The water is often clear enough to observe the marine life. A long story short, Tenerife offers great “regular snorkeling” that people combine with a holiday. If snorkeling and corals are your main priority, I would personally look a little further.
I’ve visited Tenerife 3 times in October because the climate usually allows for a warm and sunny trip before winter in my country starts to peak.
My Top 5 Snorkel Spots in Tenerife
1. El Puertito (aka Turtle Bay – Costa Adeje)
El Puertito is located on the south-west part of the island (see my map above). The marine life is average (I mean it’s ok but not exactly exceptional), however, one big attraction are the sea turtles. My hotel arranged a tour/minibus (most hotels offer some flyers about available excursions).
The sea turtles in El Puertito can become quite large. The loggerheads can grow somewhere between 3 and 4 feet. They do in fact enjoy the ocean surface because the water is warmer, which is great for relaxation after a meal (and they need to breathe). They’re pretty used to tourists and snorkelers, I just don’t understand why people always feel the need to touch them. Please, if you read this, keep your distance from these lovely animals.
In addition to turtles, snorkelers can enjoy seeing stingrays, bull rays, butterfly rays, and a good amount of schools enjoying the rocky ocean floor. Like I said, Tenerife can be rocky, so besides water shoes some prefer to also wear a snorkel rash guard. If you stay close to the shore, the water is shallow, so watch your movements. I personally prefer to wear snorkel fins because they make it extremely easy to propel without crazy swimming moves.

2. Playa de Las Arenas
Situated in the north-west of Tenerife, Playa de Las Arenas is a bay surrounded by hotels and restaurants. If it’s your goal to enjoy a day on the beach, sunbathe and have a meal afterwards, Playa de Las Arenas will allow you to do all that. Don’t expect this to be a tropical paradise, consider it to be a “casual day on Tenerife” with other tourists.
Like I mentioned before, don’t expect colorful coral on Tenerife. Playa de Las Arenas consists mainly of a rocky ocean floor, with a few fish here and there. So why do I like this place? Well, it’s the scenery. This bay really shows the volcanic history and the beauty of the island. There are quite some schools of fish to observe. Furthermore, there are enough shallow areas. However, there could be some currents to be aware of. Again, it could be helpful to wear some protective gear.
All together a fun touristic bay that allows for a family day of relaxation. Snorkeling is “regular” but combines well with a day on the beach. A great (and growing) place for families to chill at. And hey, who doesn’t like palm trees? If the weather is good, this could also work well to snorkel with kids.

Playa de Las Vistas
A little south of El Puertito, about a 15 minute car drive, there’s a large “white” beach called Playa de Las Vistas. If you’re staying in Playa de Las Americas or in Los Cristianos you’ll find this beach right in between the two. Expect a good amount of tourists, however, the beach is pretty big so on a regular day there’s enough space for everyone.
Just like the other snorkel locations that I mention in this article, Playa de Las Vistas in my opinion is another great beach where snorkeling can be a “part of the day”. You probably don’t go here only to snorkel, but to chill with your friends or family and to observe some fish in between activities (or sunbathing). Compared to Playa de Las Arenas you’ll find more sand, even though there still are a good amount of rocky areas. You’ll be able to observe a variety of fish species in pretty clear water.
So why do I like this beach? Well, it’s because of all the facilities like restaurants, bars, beach chairs, you name it.
You can even do some shopping if the beach starts to bore you. And it’s a spacious area. One of the downsides are possible jellyfish. Whenever they are around, you’ll be notified by flags (so make sure to pay attention to those). All together a fun day with loads to do and some “regular” snorkeling.

4. Punta de Teno
Located in the north-west of Tenerife, Punta de Teno offers a breathtaking view of what the island is all about. Many of us visit Tenerife to get some sunshine and partying going on, but the true beauty of the island is definitely visible in Punta de Teno. If you’re going, consider to visit the nature reserve as well. It’s beauty is just “wow”. Here’s a link to read more about the area.
The water can be wild. Therefore, figure out if the ocean is calm on the day you’re planning to go.
If the weather isn’t ideal for snorkeling, you can also go for a hike. There’s a long hiking path from which the views are just stunning. If you like photography as much as I do, make sure to bring your camera. If snorkeling is possible and safe, consider to also read my article about snorkeling with a GoPro. You might even spot an octopus in this location.
There are some pools to enter the water, even though they are rocky. The video below shows exactly what I mean. So be careful. For these locations I always advise to join a tour, here’s an example. Some tours offer boats, some kayaks, with breaks for swimming and snorkeling. Don’t forget, a boat tour does help with some amazing photography.

5. Abades
On the south-east of Tenerife there’s another “pretty good” snorkel location. Abades isn’t extremely big and usually quiet compared to some of the other snorkel spots.
In other words, if you’d like to escape the tourists for a day, Abades can help you out (even though it’s being discovered by more people). There are some restaurants around.
Abades offers quite good snorkeling, some even call it the “gem of Tenerife”. Just like Punta de Teno, there’s a chance to observe an octopus. But there are loads of fish species around as well. In my opinion, the whole area is just more colorful than the ones I mentioned preciously. Even the ocean floor. The video below will show you what I mean by that.
From Playa de Las Americas, Abades can be reached by car in about half an hour. There are busses as well, which should take more than an hour.

Tenerife Climate
Temperatures
Tenerife offers a comfortable temperature all year round. Of course, it can be cool or hot, but let’s take a look at the average temperatures.
Between May and November the average temperature exceeds 70 °F. July, August and September are the warmest with an average temperature of around 77 °F. The winter moths are cooler with an average of around 65 °F.
Rainfall
There usually aren’t a lot of rainy days on the island. June, July and August might have no rainy days at all. The winter months have more rainy days, but even those are around 5 per month. In other words, rain is usually not a big issue on Tenerife. Even if it rains, there could be opportunities to snorkel if the climate allows you to. Final Thoughts
For me personally, Tenerife is a great way to escape the cold October month in my country and to get some sunshine in. Snorkeling on the island is fun and “pretty decent”, but in my opinion it’s not a snorkeler’s paradise.
No colorful corals and (often) many tourists aren’t exactly my favorite things. But for a holiday and for relaxation, with a little snorkeling here and there, it’s great! When it comes to Spanish islands, my favorite is definitely Ibiza. Feel free to also read my article about snorkeling in Ibiza.

Very warm, gentle ocean. We were in early July and the weather was great. The beach is wide, fine white sand.
Nice cafe on the beach (ice cream, wine, snacks).
English is poorly understood, but it was not a problem.
There are many cafes/shops within walking distance.
Easy access to Cadiz.
They say that thanks to the favorable location of the beach, you can swim here from March to November. I plan to check it out sometime during the off-season.

The longest, but not the best El Puerto beach

when all of Spain flocks to the beaches. But it does not reflect all the beauty of this town, it is more touristic than Spanish. It does not show the beautiful nature of this corner, and it is too far from the historical center. Because of Cadiz, this coast is completely fenced off from the open Atlantic Ocean, the river flowing into the bay in this place on some days, especially in late July and early August, adds to your vacation, among other things, some kind of unpleasant smell. Therefore, if you have time and energy, even if you are staying in some hotel closer to Valdelagrana, I strongly advise you to go, or better to walk or run (the road itself along the coast is simply magnificent) towards Puerto and beyond it, to the beaches of la Muraya and Santa Carolina.
The nature there is truly mesmerizing, and there are not so many people (especially in the spacious Santa Carolina).

Great for walking!

October is a great time to visit the El Puerto de Santa Maria Ciz area as the weather is generally still great but the summer hordes are gone.
Nowadays Valdelagrana is a perfect place without crowds to walk around and with friends living locally is a bonus. The beach is long, wide, clean and really nice, although we didn’t go swimming and a few places were closed for tapas, it was still absolute perfection walking along the seaside boardwalk.

Quiet, calm water with waves, soft golden sand and wide beach, great for walking! There are several beach clubs where you can rent an umbrella (5 euros / day), sunbeds. Nice long promenade along the beach with restaurants, bars and some exercise equipment. You can also enjoy breathtaking sunsets!

Beautiful beach! Golden sand and beautiful sunsets

First time here and what a pleasant surprise! Nice wide beach, golden sand and very, very clean. There is a huge cleaning every morning and lots of well made signage reminding people not to throw cigarette butts etc.
There are three or four good “beach clubs” where you can rent sun loungers and get something to eat or drink.
There is a nice long “promenade” with a good selection of places to eat and drink, although not all of them were open in the second week of September.
I can imagine it being packed in summer too, but at this time of the year it was perfect.

Beautiful long sandy beach

Beautiful long sandy beach covered in shellfish that can make walking on the sand a little scratchy! Only two bars on the beach (closed) and most of the city is closed despite temperatures over 25 degrees! Tourists won’t come if they can’t eat or drink! Two openable bars made a jealous deal.

Nearby is the port of Vueltas, an anchorage for fishing boats and pleasure boats. Also on the island you can visit the natural monument of Los Organos, a cliff on which solidifying magma left bizarre patterns. Its height is 175 m. In all its beauty, the monument can only be seen from the sea.
Another attraction of Gomera, the Garajonay National Park, created in 1981, deserves attention.
It is located in the Alto de Garajonay massif, the highest on the island (1487 m). The park has its own microclimate, due to high levels of humidity and fog. 2. Charco Azul (Hierro)
This magnificent beach combines two natural pools created by ocean waves. On the descent to them are equipped with stairs, facilitating the access of visitors.
There is another attraction on the island – the Punta Grande Hotel, listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest hotel in the world. The building of the former customs warehouse houses only four rooms and a restaurant.
Travelers should pay attention to Verodal Beach, the only coastline on the island with reddish sand. Such an unusual color is due to its mixing with the earth dug up during the construction of the road many years ago.

Once upon a time, this beach served as an anchor for fishermen. Lanzarote’s most famous attraction is the Timanfaya National Park, the result of a series of volcanic eruptions that wiped out several settlements between 1730 and 1824 and forced thousands of residents to move to other parts of the island. The landscape of the Montañas de Fuego zone (“fire mountains”) resembles images of the moon. Timanfaya occupies 25% of the area of Lanzarote. You can walk around the park or take a bus, but the most interesting way to get around is by camel ride.

This area, which is located many kilometers of sand dunes, is the most famous tourist attraction of the Canary Islands. Not far from the dunes is a beach with white fine sand with a length of almost 3 km. The waters in the area are calm and allow swimming all year round.
Not far from the dunes, you can visit two more beaches, Playa del Inglés and Meloneras, located on the other side of the lighthouse in Maspalomas.
You should also pay attention to the nature reserve Las Dunas. The dunes of Maspalomas are mobile – the wind (namely, the famous local trade winds) blowing from the sea constantly carries the sand, but this cannot always be seen with the naked eye. 5. Playa Blanca (Fuerteventura)
Fuerteventura’s most famous beach is especially loved by surfers: local meteorological conditions – strong enough wind – make this beach ideal for practicing sports such as windsurfing.
The island is also famous for the fact that once its inhabitant was the Spanish writer Miguel de Unamuno. The proximity of the aforementioned beach to the capital of the island, Puerto del Rosario, allows tourists to get to know it better. The main reason for the pride of the islanders is the cultural baggage of the city: for example, in Puerto del Rosario there is a sculpture park with more than 50 different works.

In fact, El Puertito is not a beach – it is rather a group of small coves.

During this time we have been staying at Playa Del Ingles and have only seen it rain at most twice.

Some days the sky is blue, others a tad murky. The ocean temp. is just right, a few degrees lower that the Caribbean which I find too warm.
You’ll be able to see all the coral reefs and we saw the wild dolphin schools as well which was a nice bonus.

We had a few showers and a couple of cloudy days but after all it was January. The temperatures were about 23C by day and 17-18C by night. Sea temperatures were lovely.
The mountains in the centre of the island are just breathtaking. Bit cold at the very top though! – Take a warm jumper or coat and a brolly might be a good idea in the mountains in winter!!!
Great meals, reasonable and live music. I think it’s open till 1.30am or 2am in the morning.

What I got was far less, the food quality was poor, staff were trying but we’re untrained and disorganised. Checkin was a slow and lengthy Process, was softened by the glass of cava offered. Would have been great to have seats as took well over 20 minutes for 5 of us to check in. We paid for bed and breakfast but upgraded when checking in to half board. This was much cheaper then doing so at the point of booking. Very polite staff at reception and liked being shown to my room by the porter. The place is a bit of a maze. We had a Large room with fantastic balcony space and furniture. Mini fridge was handy. I love the location and overall feel of the resort. Nice flat walk to the beach and marina which is lovely. Supermarket is also in walking distance and saved us a fortune on drinks and snacks. The whole resort now looks tired and unkept. There were several machines out of use in the gym. The quiet swimming pool has several large areas where the tiles are missing from the bottom of the pool, the pool grates are covered in mildew and I never saw and testing of the water or pool cleaning.

Had I ever stayed at a Club Carlson property? Nope. Did I have any intentions of staying at one in the near future? Nope. At the time, the sign-up bonus was high, and it offered an annual retention bonus of 40,000 points. I figured at some point in the future I would use them. I just completed my first ever Club Carlson points redemption at the Radisson Blu Gran Canaria. I absolutely loved the resort, and if this is an indication of other Radission Blu resorts around the world, we will be back for more.
It’s about 15 minutes west of the town of Maspalomas, and it’s just east of the Port of Mogán. Apparently Mogán is a popular stop for those with yachts. We rented a car; the hotel is about a 35 minute drive from the airport, and I do recommend renting a car. Driving in Gran Canaria was very easy, and the hotel offers free parking as well.
There are only two elevators right in the main area. He referred to one of them as the “panoramic elevator,” as it is glass and offers great views of the room and cove.
We used it just for keeping things cold and heating up milk for the little guy.
I thought it was especially beautiful in the evening.
There are some beaches on Gran Canaria with better sand, just none right in front of the Radisson Blu.
Here in Gran Canaria, I used the Radisson Blu gym almost eveyday.
The service really made a difference. I’m not going to say the pool bar food was amazing. It wasn’t. I would recommend the jamón serrano and melon, though. That was delicious and refreshing.

During the final leg of the route, you’ll go through the Morro de la Lama del Pozo, where you’ll cross the Barranco de la Higuera again and ascend to the trail’s end.
Caldera Colorada, a family-friendly hike in Lanzarote
Just before entering the town of Yé, follow the narrow path that winds down the Famara cliffs.
You can only do this route with an official guide, so if you’re interested, you must make a reservation on the park’s website. Spots are limited per day, so I recommend reserving well in advance (it’s free).

At the end of this Lanzarote hike, you’ll see Playa del Paso, a black sand beach with strong, crashing waves. Here, you can catch one of the most impressive sunsets in Lanzarote, so I recommend planning your hike, so you get here before dusk.
The slope has an elevation gain of about 1,100 feet, so it’s quite challenging. Even so, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views and an impressive crater about 1,476 feet in diameter.
I chose to do this excursion since it also includes the Caldera Colorado route that I mentioned earlier.

It truly is like nothing we’ve ever experienced before and is one of our absolute favorite places. What’s also great is, if your experience is anything like ours, you’ll find yourself completely alone on pretty much all your hikes, making for a great experience of solitude. 
This is an incredible experience in its own right and you’ll really be glad you did it, even if it does feel a little touristy.

The image is of a vast volcano and you can see into the caldera to the base of the volcano. A wide angle shot that shows a vast landscape of volcanoes and lava fields in the background. The main colour palette in this image is orange, red, yellow and brown.
This hike is so prominent, firstly because the caldera itself is white and cream in colour making it stand out from some of the other prominent peaks in the area, but also because it has intact, polished walls which is very different too. There are a few sections on this hike where you’re walking along a ridge and do feel a little exposed, but also very manageable. Be warned again like with all hikes on the island, this hike is exposed with no shade at all so come prepared with lots of water, sun cream and come to terms with the idea that you’re most likely going to get a little sweaty. The hike itself is a beautiful adventure and the views from the rim of the caldera are breathtaking. 
The great thing about this hike as well, because it is a linear trail, is that if you’re not feeling up to the whole hike, you can cut it short, turning back whenever feels good for you. The views on one side of the bright blue ocean crashing against the contrasting black volcanic rocks with the Timanfaya National Park mountains on your other side is truly an unforgettable experience. Starting off at one of the most picturesque beaches and finishing in the iconic El Golfo makes this hike varied, interesting and one not to miss. 
It’s incredibly unique, and well worth visiting. Just make sure you take water and sunscreen as there’s very little shade.

This beach isn’t well known by tourists, so you will likely find it deserted when you arrive. A rarity for any beach in Lanzarote.
The hike has some steep parts in places, but if you have a decent level of fitness it shouldn’t cause too many issues.

Timanfaya National Park is, literally, another world. It offers one of the most impressive visual spectacles in the Canary Islands.
It is a trail that is only a few kilometers, but the difficulty depends on whether you do it downhill or uphill. The first part of the trail, around Yé towards Guinate, is along a cobbled path and zigzags down. Then the trail goes through Famara’s cliffs, and the volcanic rocks make it a bit slippery. The coastline views during the walk are fantastic, and you can admire several native species of fauna and flora.
It offers the best of the island: mountain views, views of the coastline that stretch to the Atlantic and Fuerteventura, and, of course, the spectacular beaches. It begins in Fémes, a very small town. They are approximately 4 km long and the hike lasts about 4 hours.
This path connects the two areas, beginning in Haria and stretching 8 km long. It consists of two viewpoints: the Montaña Ganda Viewpoint and El Bosquecillo. The view of the idyllic beach of Famara from the Mirador El Bosquecillo is fantastic.
The starting point is the church of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. The trail follows marked routes, a track, and even an asphalt road. This is an easy walk, suitable for families with children.

I flew from Moscow in transit via Madrid. The impressions were unforgettable. My favorite attraction was Siam Park. A steep artificial wave imitated as a sea wave surprised all visitors. And the high water slide 80 meters long impressed with its spectacularity. The children were especially interested. It was also very interesting to visit Loro Parque, where the birds just sit on your shoulders and you feed them from your hand. In a word, the trip there was not in vain. I advise everyone to visit this unique paradise on earth.

I do it for the same reason that I do it for other people— I want it to feel like I’ve gone back in time, years and years ago, to that exact place, with those exact same people, and those exact same feelings I was feeling at that time.
I get to show them a time that their dad and I were able to run around the Swiss alps at 5,400 feet above sea level and watch the sun set, and about that one time that we rode 3 hours nauseous and exhausted, having just overcome food poisoning, on a bumpy and crammed bus in the dry desert of Africa to go see a three tiered waterfall and let monkeys climb all over us.
But that’s honestly the beauty of it. We are able to take a step into other peoples lives, who know no different, just for a split second. And we’re able to remember how blessed we are— and how much we shouldn’t take for granted. We’re able to meet new people from across the world, learn of their lifestyle and their kindness, and they’re all so kind— all of us taking and leaving little pieces of those places and those people everywhere we go.

And I’m so happy we did. Southern Spain is hands down one of the most breath taking places you could go. We spent our time in Malaga and exploring Rhonda, and already we want to go back. We stayed in an Airbnb with the most incredible view of the country side, ate fresh oranges on the daily that we picked out in our front yard, and walked along ramparts of a breathtaking castle overlooking the entire city that dates back to the 10th century.
Walking along the promenades or through narrow alleyways, you are sure to discover the multifaceted character of these islands, from cosmopolitan style in Las Palmas to quiet introspection in rustic San Sebastián. Compared to Egyptian resorts, there is more humidity, windy and many waves. In the summer months, the air temperature is above +40C. The only exception is Agadir. The Atlas Mountains naturally shelter the city from the sultry breath of the Sahara. The former Portuguese fort has grown in recent years into a resort for surfers. There is always wind and long waves.
