Where’s Hot In February? 6 Winter Sun Spots

World Nutella Day, National Margarita Day, and Valentine’s Day – February doesn’t fall short of fun events. The second month of the year signals one small step closer to summer, yet the temperatures are still low and winter blues may be lingering. That’s why we think it’s the perfect time to book a holiday to escape the cold! Unsure about where’s hot in February? We’ve rounded up our top six destinations to get you started.

Barbados, Caribbean

Weather: Max. 29 degrees (approx.) | Min. 23 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Only a couple degrees cooler than in summertime, Barbados is a top spot for visiting at this time of the year – even at nighttime, the temperature rarely dips below 23 degrees. Allowing you to unwind on tropical beaches and swim in crystal-clear waters as everyone back home stays bundled up, it’s an ultimate winter sun destination. We’d recommend renting a snorkel for the duration of your stay, or maybe a catamaran to explore the stunning coastline on a day trip.

Where to stay: With options that are walking distance from the beach as well as local restaurants and shops, our growing collection of luxury villas in Barbados is here for you to explore.

Tenerife, Canary Islands

Weather: Max: 23 degrees (approx.) | Min: 16 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Although it’s well-known as the nightlife capital of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has got plenty more to offer than just buzzing clubs and bars. This multi-faceted island is home to volcano Teide and its surrounding national park plus a variety of remarkable beaches. So, whether you prefer your explorations to be land- or water-based, this is a fantastic place to get away and get outside again!

Where to stay: Our luxury villas in Tenerife are a great base for you to discover the island. We’ve got both rural countryside locations as well as spots with scenic views over the coastline – take your pick.

Jamaica, Caribbean

Weather: Max: 28 degrees (approx.) | Min: 21 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Famous for its endless beaches, spectacular waterfalls and bustling city streets, Jamaica is full of life round every corner. If you’re into diving, you’ll have an incredible time discovering coral reefs and whale-watching. Another plus side is that it’s warm year-round, so even if you don’t quite make it in February, this holiday spot will always be ready to welcome you.

Where to stay: Did someone say beachfront villa? Live the Caribbean dream in one of our holiday homes in Jamaica with many situated right on the beach.

Orlando, Florida

Weather: Max: 23 degrees (approx. )  | Min: 12 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Everyone knows that Orlando is the theme park capital of the world, home to the wonderful Walt Disney World Resort as well as Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Legoland. However, did you know that you can enjoy your thrills and spills just as much outside the summer season?

Gone is the humidity of June and July, instead replaced with slight winds and clear skies that make open-to-close park days far easier to take on. We’d suggest a visit to Disney’s EPCOT to enjoy the International Festival of the Arts, held for a limited time at the start of each year – themed food booths, art galleries, drawing classes and live performances await.

Prefer magical wizards to mice and princesses? Head over to Islands of Adventure and pay a visit to Hogwarts. And if you want to bypass the parks altogether, Florida also boasts an impressive array of beaches that are worth visiting even in the off-season, plus the famous Everglades.

Where to stay: Want to stay close to all the theme parks? Our villas in Florida are based in resorts just minutes away from Orlando’s best attractions.

St. Lucia, Caribbean

Weather: Max: 28 degrees (approx.) | Min: 22 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Although St. Lucia has gained a reputation for being a top honeymoon destination, it’s also a great island for family holidays. Boasting a landscape that’s filled with volcanoes, mountains and rainforests, this Caribbean island offers ample inland activities. However, if you’d rather relax on the beach, there are plenty of long, sandy stretches waiting for you too!

Where to stay: Stylishly designed with the utmost attention to detail, our luxury villas in St. Lucia offer easy access to exploring the island’s natural beauty.

Koh Yao Noi, Thailand

Weather: Max: 33 degrees (approx.) | Min: 23 degrees (approx.)

What to do: Largely untouched by tourists compared to its neighboring islands, Koh Nao Noi remains a hidden gem in the Andaman Sea. With its white-washed beaches, picturesque limestone rock scenery, and activities such as kayaking and diving, it’s the perfect destination for you to escape the cold winter weather.

From April 2022, all international visitors must pay a small entrance fee of 300 baht (around £7) as part of Thailand’s tourism reopening plan. You should also note that, under the newly introduced Sandbox scheme, you can currently only visit Phuket, Krabi and Phang-nga, as well as Surat Thani island, including Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan, and Koh Tao.

Where to stay: We’ve got a growing selection of stylish villas and holiday homes in the Koh Tao islands. Whether you want direct beach access or a private pool with a view, we’ve got something for everyone.
