3 Reasons to Visit Lanzarote in the Off Seasons* –

It’s starting to get really cold, and I just want nothing more than to jet off to a different country and bask in some sunshine. Anyone else? I mean I don’t really need many reasons to visit Lanzarote to be honest…

Most people associate beach holidays and basking in the sun with Summer, and rightly so I guess. Summer is obviously the hottest season to go in for those high temperatures. But it doesn’t have to be so!

Summer breaks also come with higher costs, more families and pretty much busier tourist traps wherever you go. After posting my photo diary from Venice it came to my attention that I probably enjoyed it so much because I’d gone in February – not a popular time to visit. It seems like colder places and city breaks are more popular for winter holidays, but for me a bit of sunshine is much more wanted. Don’t get me wrong, I so desperately want to visit somewhere to see the Northern Lights over winter, but also I just really dislike the cold.

Somewhere I’ve been a couple of times is Lanzarote. I’ve been in both October and March, the months that signal the closing of the peak summer season and just before it starts back up, and I’ve loved it both times.

You Still Get Sunshine

Lanzarote is pretty hot as far as places in Europe go. The sunshine is pretty steady all year round, although obviously in the summer the weather is at it’s hottest. According to the Met Office, the lowest average temperature comes in at 20 degrees in January. The average where I live at that time is around 7 degrees. So yeah… It’s a winner for me.

Last year my parents visited from Boxing Day to New Years Eve. (So she keeps reminding me, as she mopes around about not going this year!) They came back both sun burnt and tanned. Basically, anywhere in the Canary Islands is great for a sunny holiday all year round. The first time I visited in October the temperatures were hitting the early 30s all week.

It’s Quieter

Okay so it is never ‘quiet’ when you visit somewhere that is more touristy, but it’s a lot better in the off season. Your hotel will more likely have less children there, and the pools/relaxing areas will not be overrun with mayhem. Great if you’re like us and just want a nice quiet break, lying by the pool with a book. (With no shouting or screaming kids…)

As I said above, I’ve visited Lanzarote in both March and October. I would say that October was busier than March, most likely because it’s still quite close to the busiest seasons. March was just before the main holidaymakers will have started travelling and was definitely quieter.

You Can Still Do The Activities

Due to the good weather all year round, pretty much everything stays open. You can take part in diving courses, snorkelling, boat trips, visit the zoos, go on entertainment nights, sit in the bars, go on the nature tours… The list is endless. So many things to do. Touristy activities will still get busy though!

I took a two day diving course the very first time I went and it was just myself, my brother and another person there doing the learning. Easy to book on beforehand, and because it was quiet we did have the option to extend if wanted.

Honestly I’m always recommending Lanzarote for those who just want a simple beach holiday. It isn’t for those who want to avoid all the tourists and get fully immersed in a quiet little area. Thinking of having a look? You can see some great deals on Holiday Gems for all areas. I think Costa Teguise is next on my list!

All my photos and experiences are from staying in Puerto Del Carmen, but I’ve heard great things about the other areas too. I think I’d like a good balance of holidays like this where you just want a bit of sunshine, and then those where you’re properly getting immersed into new cultures and experiences.

What about you?

The climate of Lanzarote: when to go to Lanzarote

Lanzarote, like the other Canarian islands, has a sub-tropical hot and dry climate, this type of climate is characterized by long hot and arid summers, and by short mild and little rainy winters. Even during the winter, the average minimum temperatures do not drop below 14 ° C, while the average maximum temperatures never drop below 20 ° C.

In summer the trade winds make the temperatures mild, the average maximum temperatures never exceed 30 ° C even in the hottest month of August. The average minimum summer temperatures are around 20 ° C. The climate of Lanzarote is influenced and made so mild by the cold submarine current of the Canaries and by the breath of the trade winds.

From the point of view of rainfall, the climate of Lanzarote can be considered a sub-desert climate. In fact, the island does not have the high mountains that are present in the westernmost islands of the Canaries, and which allow the capture and formation of clouds. Lanzarote in fact receives little rainfall, generally varying between 200 and 100 mm per year, the winter months are those in which the rains are more likely, while the months between April and October are completely dry. The island has a total of only 20 rainy days per year. The sunny hours are 2,944 per year.

The sea water temperature varies between 17 ° C in March and April and 22 ° C in September and October. Between June and November the sea water has temperatures above 20 ° C.

WHEN TO GO TO LANZAROTE

Due to the mild climate, every period of the year is suitable for a trip to Lanzarote, for the seaside activity the most suitable are the months from June to October.

At sea in March: Cuba, Africa and the islands

To get a chocolate tan already in March , you can fly half the world – for example, to Cuba – or choose a resort closer to the equator: go to Africa or to exotic islands . Closer, alas, it is still cool: in Morocco and Tunisia +20°C during the day, +11-12°C at night, the water temperature is about 17°C. It is already warm in Egypt, +25°C during the day, +17°C at night, in water +20-21°C, but dry wind from the desert is raging, carrying sandstorms.

Bounty-style holidays and the legacy of Columbus in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic – the fabulous shores of the Caribbean Sea in the east of Haiti and offshore islands. With breathtaking scenery and fabulous service, the Dominican Republic has become the epitome of a bounty-style resort, an unforgettable advertisement for an exotic chocolate bar against the backdrop of heavenly shores.

The beaches of the Dominican Republic are distinguished not only by the strength of the waves, but also by the color of the sand: the “amber coast” at the Costa del Ambar, golden in Sosua, the beaches of Punta Cana, white with a touch of pink mother-of-pearl, blinding eyes with the whiteness of Bayahibe, fantastic gray-black sand in Palenque. In the second half of March, you can already swim: during the day it is about + 25 ° C, the sea warms up to 20-21 ° C.

The coast of the Dominican Republic, Photo tonkosti.ru

The sea regularly storms off the coast of Cabarete – surfers gather here, and Boca Chica beach near Santo Domingo is recommended for families with children: the shallow lagoon is protected from waves by a coral reef. Punta Cana is a party place, the Samana Peninsula offers solitude and relaxation in silence. Divers go to the vicinity of Bayahibe, to the famous cave chains of Padre Nuestro and Chicho, to the Puerto Plata area to humpback whales and to Monte Cristi, to the largest cemetery of sunken ships in the Caribbean.

Punta Cana, Photo votpusk.ru

In the center of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, quarters of colonial architecture have been preserved – it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Still: the younger brother of Christopher Columbus, Bartolomeo, founded the current capital.

Flying in March from Almaty to Santo Domingo and back for two adults costs almost 790 thousand tenge. Flying from Astana (ex-Nur-Sultan) is more expensive: from 1167 thousand tenge. At the same time, flights are possible with at least 2 transfers, travel time from 22 to 49hours. A hotel room for a week for two – from 110 thousand tenge, the average price is 200 – 275 thousand tenge. Just two round-trip tickets and a week in a hotel in the Dominican Republic in March costs from a million tenge.

“Moon valleys” and black sands of the Canary Islands

Spanish territory, the Canaries – an exotic archipelago of 7 islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Tourists are best acquainted with the islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura. There are classic tourist centers with a rich infrastructure and resorts of interest: with yacht parking, equipment rental for various sports or exotic fishing.

In March, the weather is always great in the Canary Islands: during the day the air warms up to +24-25°C, in the evening up to +20°C, the water temperature is 20°C – the Gulf Stream flows very close, from north to south, plus the great depth does not give water warm up more. This does not prevent us from considering the Canary Islands a beach paradise: on 1,500 km of sandy and rocky coasts, everyone will find a place to their liking.

Gran Canaria, Spain, Photo travel.rambler.ru

On the coast of Gran Canaria, the “Sahara in miniature” stretches for 5 kilometers – the Maspolamas Dunes beach with golden sand. Tenerife has beaches covered with light sand from the ocean floor or brought from the Sahara, but the most famous beach, Playa de Taganana, is covered with black volcanic sand. Such sands are extremely photogenic and beneficial for the health of the musculoskeletal system. People come to the island of Lanzarote not only for the sake of the beach: it is a volcanic reserve, the famous “Lunar Landscape”. It is chosen by tourists seeking rest from the noise and “color” of civilization.

To fly together at the end of the month to Tenerife from Almaty and back costs from 690 thousand tenge. From Astana (ex-Nur-Sultan) – from 730 thousand. The journey with all connections will take at least 15 hours, or even 40. A hotel for a week for two costs from 110 to 220 thousand tenge, and a package of accommodation and round-trip tickets – from 950 thousand tenge.

Tropical paradise and quiet rest in the Maldives

The Maldives are about 1200 picturesque atolls in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean near the equator. Most of the islands are uninhabited, others are intended for secluded recreation. The so-called “hotel exclusive” is common here: only one small 4-5 * hotel with picturesque bungalows, its own stretch of beach and excellent service can be built on the island. In March in the Maldives during the day + 31 ° C, at night + 26 ° C, the water is warmed up to +29°C

The coast of the Maldives, Photo tpg.ua

The islands are not full of attractions, but that’s not what people come here for: beautiful nature, silence and solitude, plus the underwater world, one of the most diverse on the planet. This is what they say about the Maldives: their best beauties can be found below sea level. After sunset, you can wander through the shallow water among the glowing plankton, and in the morning watch the dolphins in their natural environment. They say that time in the Maldives does not slow down, it stops until the vacationer gains strength.

A flight from Almaty or Astana (ex-Nur-Sultan) to the Maldives and back in March costs from 1. 2 million tenge, the travel time, including connections, is from 12 to 30 hours. Hotels in the Maldives – from 500 thousand, individual island hotels offer accommodation for 1.6 – 2 million tenge per week. Package offers flight + hotel for two in March cost from 1.5 million tenge.

The best African beaches and a penguin colony in South Africa

The beach season ends in South Africa in March-April: during the day the air warms up to +30°C, at night it cools down to +21°C. The water in the Durban resort area is 24°C. Showers are possible in the afternoon, but they are lightning fast and refresh rather than interfere with rest: such is the peculiarity of the climate.

South Africa is the second most visited resort in Africa after Egypt, and local beaches are considered among the best. The dazzling white Cape Vidal on the cape of the same name is called the best, sunny Camps Bay is no less beautiful, and even the mysterious Wild Coast and the exotic Boulders penguin colony have found their connoisseurs. In addition to idle vacationers, many surfers, divers, lovers of boat trips, fishing and safaris come here.

Grotto Beach in South Africa, Photo by best.aviasovet.ru

Our ancestors knew a lot about resorts: not far from Johannesburg, in the limestone caves of the “Cradle of Mankind”, the remains of a man over 2 million years old were found. Tourist programs include the relic lake of Santa Lucia, the Kruger National Park, and the grandiose entertainment complex Sun City.

The cheapest way in March is to fly to South Africa together from Almaty to Cape Town: round-trip tickets cost 825 thousand tenge. For comparison, from Astana (ex-Nur-Sultan) to Cape Town without early booking you can fly for 1.7 million tenge, a flight from Kazakhstan for two to Johannesburg – 1.2 – 2 million tenge, and to the resort Durban – 3.5 million tenge. A hotel in Cape Town for two for a week costs 275-385 thousand tenge, in Johannesburg – 165-275 thousand tenge. A package offer for two, a round-trip flight and a hotel – from 1. 1 million tenge.

Cuba: rum, cigars and islands only for tourists

Flying to the other side of the world is not easy, but if you don’t mind at least a 13-hour flight and jet lag, it’s worth visiting the famous Liberty Island. Today it is the largest resort in Latin America, with excellent hotels, excellent service and a choice of entertainment from the traditional set of “rum and cigars” to diving and yacht trips.

Cuba – continuous coastline with beach resorts. It is dry here in March, but not too hot: +27-29°C during the day, about +20°C at night, the water is warmed up to 26°C. The main Cuban resorts are the famous Varodero, the elite Holguin and the paradise islands of Cayo Largo, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, which are more tourist centers than Cuban territories: locals cannot live and relax here, only work.

Varadero, Cuba, Photo by debbiescaribbeanresortreviews.com

In general, Cuba is quite compact: you can drive all of it in a week. Another thing is that breaking away from the beaches, salsa and mojitos is not so easy. Those who are still going on excursions will be interested in the city-museum of Comandante Che Santa Clara; Matanas with caves, drawings in which are 40 thousand years old; Santiago de Cuba, where Cuban music originated and where Don Facundo Bacardi was born, whose name is now well known in both hemispheres. And, of course, picturesque Havana, where the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries seemed to mix, and the El Floridita bar, where Ernest Hemingway drank 12 double daiquiris, still beckons those who want to break the record (by the way, unsuccessfully).

Flying from Almaty to Havana and back without an early booking costs from 1.3 million tenge. From Astana (ex-Nur-Sultan) – 830 thousand tenge. Flight to Varadero from Kazakhstan (round-trip) from 2.8 million tenge. Hotels – from 470 thousand tenge for two.

We have compiled a non-exhaustive guide to resorts where you can swim in the sea and sunbathe already in March. There are many islands and outlandish countries in the world, and there are always those who liked it or didn’t like it very much. The main thing now is to hold out until the summer, breathe, keep warm, gain strength. And nothing better than an exotic beach has yet been invented for this.

  • Weather in Playa Blanca in December

Where does this data come from?

Weather data for Playa Blanca was collected from the MERRA-2 project from NASA, which used a climate model combined with historical data from weather stations around the world to estimate what the conditions were like for every point on the Earth.

For all data based on historical data, we’ve averaged the data from the past 11 years (2010-2020). For example, for the hourly temperature at 10am, we’ve looked at the temperature at 10am on every day in March (e.g., March 1, March 2, etc. in 2010, 2011, etc.) and took the arithmetic mean. We did not smooth the data, so for example, our daily temperature line will have some randomness due to the fact that weather is random in the first place.

The information on this site is provided as is, without any assurances as to its accuracy or suitability for any purpose. Weather data is prone to errors, outages, and other defects. We assume no responsibility for any decisions made on the basis of the content presented on this site.

We draw particular cautious attention to our reliance on the MERRA-2 model-based reconstructions for a number of important data series. While having the tremendous advantages of temporal and spatial completeness, these reconstructions: (1) are based on computer models that may have model-based errors, (2) are coarsely sampled on a 50 km grid and are therefore unable to reconstruct the local variations of many microclimates, and (3) have particular difficulty with the weather in some coastal areas, especially small islands.

We further caution that our travel scores are only as good as the data that underpin them, that weather conditions at any given location and time are unpredictable and variable, and that the definition of the scores reflects a particular set of preferences that may not agree with those of any particular reader.

March continued the planet’s exceedingly warm start to 2022, ranking as the fifth-warmest March in 143 years.

The year so far ranks as the fifth-warmest globally since 1880, according to scientists from NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information.

Below are more highlights from NOAA’s latest monthly global climate report:

Climate by the numbers

March 2022

The average global land and ocean-surface temperature for March was 1.71 degrees F (0.95 of a degree C) above the 20th-century average of 54. 9 degrees (12.7 degrees C), ranking as the fifth-warmest March in the global climate record.

March 2022 also was the 46th consecutive March and the 447th consecutive month with temperatures above the 20th-century average.

Looking regionally, Oceania had its fourth-warmest March on record while Asia had its ninth-warmest. North America, South America, Europe and Africa all had above-average March temperatures, but none of the continents saw a top-15 warm March.

Year to date | January through March

For 2022 so far, the global land and ocean surface temperature averaged 1.58 degrees F (0.88 of a degree C), making it the fifth-warmest year to date on record.

Asia also had its fifth warmest year-to-date temperature on record, while South America, Europe, the Caribbean region and Oceania each saw a January-through-March temperature ranked among the nine warmest on record. Africa and North America also were warmer than average, but saw their coolest year to date since 2012 and 2014, respectively.

Other notable climate events in the March report

  • Sea ice was scant at the poles: Antarctic sea ice coverage (extent) was just 1.09 million square miles, the second-smallest extent for March in the 44-year record. Only March of 2017 had a smaller sea ice extent. Across the Arctic, sea ice extent averaged 5.63 million square miles — the ninth-smallest for March since records began in 1979.
  • A busy month for the tropics: Nine tropical storms formed globally in March, tying as the second-highest number of tropical storms in March — behind March of 1994 which had a total of 10. Only three of the nine tropical storms reached cyclone (hurricane) strength, which is below normal for the month.

It was also the second-hottest year to date (YTD, January through March) ever recorded for the globe, according to NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information.

Below are more highlights from NOAA’s latest monthly global climate report:

Climate by the numbers

March 2020

The average global land and ocean-surface temperature for March was 2.09 degrees F (1.16 degrees C) above the 20th-century average and the second-highest March temperature on record after 2016.

The 10 warmest Marches have all occurred since 1990. March 2020 was also the 44th consecutive March and the 423rd consecutive month with temperatures — at least nominally — above the 20th-century average.

Year to date | January through March

The global land and ocean-surface temperature of 2.07 degrees F (1.15 degrees C) above the 20th-century average made it the second-warmest January-through-March period in the 141-year record, behind 2016.

The year to date logged in as second-warmest for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres, while Europe and Asia had their warmest YTD  ever recorded.

  6. Monthly temperature chart holidays in summer and winter? When is it better to relax with children and family, elderly tourists? Let’s look at holidays in Abkhazia from the side of natural conditions, learn how to dress and what to expect from the climate.

Like 20 years ago, the climate and nature of Abkhazia have remained unchanged, although after the Abkhaz-Georgian conflict, popular resorts have lost their former glory. Today, the government is actively equipping old sanatoriums, new hotels are being built and beaches are being ennobled.

Despite the traces of devastation still present, many Russians prefer to relax in Abkhazia than in the popular resorts of the Krasnodar Territory. This is due to the relative cheapness of housing, the beauty of nature, the presence of entertainment, fewer tourists and favorable weather conditions.

On the coast, the climate of Abkhazia is quite mild and belongs to the subtropical, tourists here have a rest all year round. Swimming season from May to October.

High in the mountains, palm trees and beaches are replaced by snow and eternal glaciers. At an altitude of 2700 meters, snow lies all year round.

The main ridge of the Greater Caucasus closes the republic from cold winds, and southern winds bring warmth and moisture. Coniferous forests saturate the air with useful substances that have a beneficial effect on the state of the body.

When is the best time to visit Abkhazia?

To enjoy the gifts of nature, the warm sea and interesting excursions to Abkhazia, you need to go in the summer. The maximum riot of colors, picturesque places, local color and culture will help you to disconnect from the daily affairs, and plunge into the rest in full.

Before you go, be sure to find out what the weather is like in Abkhazia in 2017.

    Summer weather in Abkhazia

Summer weather in Abkhazia is quite hot and humid. The hottest month is August, with an average temperature of + 27°C, sometimes jumping over +30°C and rising to +35°C. The warmest city on the Black Sea coast is Gagra.

Summer is not only hot, but also humid. About 230 mm of precipitation falls per month. At the same time, short rains do not cool the air much.

Such a factor as high humidity at high air temperature must be taken into account by the elderly, such a combination can adversely affect health.

Rest in New Athos and prices for food, food, the private sector and other aspects of interest to tourists when collecting for vacation.

But summer is the best time for families with children. There are a lot of fruits at an affordable price in the markets and shops; there is a summer water park in Gagra. In winter, many entertainment centers and amusement parks are closed, in summer they work.

Children may not be limited in taking water procedures, the sea warms up to +27°С.

Even in the hottest summer months, the beaches are quite spacious, there is where to lie down and relax calmly. At the Russian sea resorts at this time there is nowhere to turn around.

Excursion program in summer is extensive, after a beach holiday you can spend time actively and informatively.

During the day the temperature is comfortable for walking. The nights are cool – + 10- + 12 ° С. When renting accommodation in October, check if there is an additional heater. From clothing, be sure to take a light jacket, it will come in handy on evening walks. You will also need a raincoat with an umbrella, in autumn there are long rains.

By the end of October it gets colder, there is a storm at sea, and a strong wind on the coast.

Well, if you want to take the maximum from your vacation and combine excursions with sea relaxation, go to the resort in September, the sea is still warm, and the air no longer burns.

Resting in October, you will be taken to the harvest festival. This bright and cheerful action is held in the village of Lykhny. Here you will be able to taste national treats, participate in competitions and buy souvenirs at the fair.

In November it is colder in the mountains, getting to waterfalls or lakes is much more difficult, because of the rain the roads are partially washed out.

Prices for holidays in Abkhazia, food in the markets and food in cafes, fares and other financial issues are discussed in a separate material.

    Winter weather in Abkhazia

In December the weather conditions are very changeable. Sometimes there are rains and cold winds, sunny days are also pleasing. Air temperature +10-+12°С, cooler at night +4-+5°С.

In general, the weather in December is damp and rainy, this month about 200 mm of precipitation falls. Storms cover the coastal zones with waves, a damp and cold wind blows.

The tops of the mountains are covered with snow caps. Going to the mountains on an excursion, be sure to wear warm clothes and shoes, while the equipment should be comfortable.

In January the winds and rains subside, the weather is quite mild. The air temperature drops below zero extremely rarely, most often it is + 3- + 6 ° С.

In January, you can see an amazing picture of green palms against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains.

The only month when it is not recommended to go to Abkhazia is February. Cold winds and rains with sleet interfere with sightseeing trips, walking on the street is quite unpleasant, even being in the house, one feels excessive dampness.

Most hotels and boarding houses are closed in winter, more active life is observed in Sukhumi. Many cafes, restaurants, shops and hotels operate here.

Going to Abkhazia in winter, you should definitely take warm clothes, a raincoat and an umbrella.

Early March is characterized by rainy weather, short-term precipitation, after the rains the sun often comes out.

It will not be possible to go to the mountains in March, excursions are not yet organized, but this is a great time for sightseeing in cities.

April is a great time to visit Abkhazia. The air is heated up to +16°С. Traveling around the republic in April is very comfortable, acquaintance with its sights will leave a lot of pleasant impressions.

Not everyone dares to swim in April, the sea is still cold – +12.

But in May the swimming season opens. Swimming for a long time is of course still cold, the water temperature is +18.

It is too early for children to take water procedures in May, but it is very pleasant to walk and spend time on the beach.

Daytime temperature is around +19°C, in the evening it drops to +13°C.

    Tourist season in Dubai

It is hard to imagine that back in the last century, Dubai was a modest fishing village where they earned money by fishing for pearls. But everything changed dramatically at 1966, when oil deposits were found in its vicinity. And after a few years, the fees flowed like a river, and this place ceased to be recognizable. Today Dubai belongs to the “caste” of the most expensive and richest cities in the world. It is considered a world business center and the leading tourist center of the Middle East, where astronomical sums are spinning and the best professionals of the tourism industry work. In each tourist season, which here, by the way, lasts 365 days a year, at least 8 million people from Europe, Asia and the Middle East come to “Eastern Paris”. First of all, the phenomenon of such colossal attendance (given the fact that its own population is just over 2 million people) is explained by the overdeveloped hospitality sector, evidenced by the world’s highest hotel occupancy rate (86%). An advantageous geographical position also plays an important role: being a hub at the intersection of the main transport routes from north to south and from west to east, it is not difficult to get to Dubai (direct flights from many countries of the world, convenient short connections).

    High season in Dubai

Dubai is the most visited emirate of the UAE, you can see this for yourself by coming here during the high tourist season, which falls on part of the year from October to April. At this time, the weather becomes less hot, which means that the rest takes place in more comfortable conditions. And not only cultural and educational, but also beach. The only negative in all this is the high level of prices, which usually reaches its maximum during the Christmas and New Year holidays, as well as on the days of especially major holidays and festivals. Nevertheless, this moment does not stop tourists at all, they are ready to bring a lot of money here and be convicted of extravagance. After all, many want to see how the richest people on the planet live, including such a rare social stratum as diamond kings and oil magnates.

    Low season in Dubai

The least attendance of Dubai (to be more precise – with a tourist purpose) is observed in the summer months from June to August. The reason for the decline in demand for this direction is banal and lies in the weather conditions, which are quite exhausting for the average European. Very aggressive sun, high humidity levels and temperatures reaching +40..+45 °C in the shade make even a 10-minute stay in the open air very difficult. Fully working air conditioners, which even public transport stops are equipped with, do not have the best effect on the health of a person who is not used to such dramatic temperature changes. Therefore, no matter how trite it may sound, the risk of catching a cold in the sultry Dubai summer is very high. However, this does not frighten especially “heat-resistant” individuals at all. Our compatriots appeared among them a few years ago. After the tour operators extended the flight program and signed a year-round contract with hotels, the Russians could not resist significant savings and a number of privileges received during summer holidays (for example, a massive reduction in entertainment prices). And today the percentage of “aged tourists” in the low season is quite large.

    Beach season in Dubai

The most successful time for a beach holiday in Dubai is autumn and the second half of spring

“Dubai beach” is no less popular than “Dubai sightseeing”. Crystal clear aquamarine waters, snow-white sands, a gradual decrease in sea depth, sunbeds spaced at an impressive distance, helpful service, a myriad of related entertainment and no annoying merchants – here they know how to attract even the most capricious beach community in these matters. Mother Nature also played an important role here. Due to the hot climate, the swimming season lasts all year round. From June to September, the water in the Persian Gulf resembles fresh milk: its temperature fluctuates in the range of +27..+32 °C, but the suffocating haze and the sizzling sun are not the best “companions” of a beach holiday. October is the opening of the high holiday season, as the heat begins to gradually recede, while the water continues to keep its heat: this month, about +27 ° C. By the end of autumn, it cools down to +25 ° C, and after, i.e. in winter, long swims are no longer so comfortable. We can say that December is the border month between such sensations as “warm” and “cold” while swimming, and in January, February and March, the water can invigorate. In addition, it is often windy with overcast skies. Therefore, in winter, a beach holiday is a certain risk. In the last two months of spring in Dubai, the beaches are again crowded. The air warms up, and with it the sea water – on average up to +27 °C.

    Surf season

The high surf season lasts from October to April, in winter the water is cold, so you can’t do without a wetsuit

The number of people who want to surf in Dubai is growing every year. And so rapidly that the city authorities had to introduce restrictions, according to which you can catch your gust of wind only in specially designated beach areas, so as not to interfere with the sunbathing public to relax. So, on the beach “Umm Suqeim Beach”, located south of the sandy strip “Jumeirah”, as many as 900 m. for these “needs”. It is also easy to find surfers near the Jebel Ali harbor at Wollongong Beach (they also practice kite surfing here). The best time for this sport is from October to April, when the sea is at its heaviest. But you can go to the Wild Wadi water park, where excellent conditions are created for learning to bodysurf, regardless of the season on the calendar.

    Diving season

The most favorable time for diving is autumn and spring

Most dive sites are concentrated on the east coast of the UAE due to active construction in the water area. Nevertheless, diving in Dubai is no less interesting. First of all, these are dozens of shipwrecks and coral reefs, near which colonies of the brightest tropical fish live. Diving with good visibility (about 20 m) is possible not only in the daytime, but also at night. Local dive clubs take on not only the organization of diving and training, but also trips to dive sites in other emirates. The most favorable season for exploring the underwater “treasures” of the Persian Gulf is the spring and autumn months. If your trip is scheduled for the winter season – do not be discouraged. At this time, there are also a sufficient number of calm days, but in case of a big wave in the bay, there is a great fallback option – diving in the shark-infested deep-sea aquarium, which is located in the Dubai Mall. By the way, recently a new program has appeared there that teaches the art of photography under water.

    Cruise season

The cruise season in Dubai lasts all 12 months

Dubai’s cruise business is expanding rapidly. Many international companies are trying to join it, because promoting their services here means dooming yourself to a high income. One of the last firms that opened their office here was the Italian company Costa Cruises. So there is no shortage of variety of routes in Dubai. Every year, the cruise terminal of the city port receives at least 150 passenger liners from around the world. The most frequent guests are ships from Singapore, Nice and Athens. In turn, sea voyages are carried out from here along the Persian and Oman Gulfs, as well as the Indian Ocean. The navigation season lasts all year round. During the New Year holidays, the cost of tour packages will be maximum. The lowest prices are set in summer – approximately minus 20% -30% of their value in spring or autumn.

    Sale season

Summer sales start in Dubai in June and winter sales in January

In recent years, Dubai has been moving closer to being a shopping mecca. Moreover, shopping as such is a full-fledged attraction here. In fact, this is a unique product, which has no analogues anywhere in the world, because only in this city there is such a high density of luxury boutiques and shopping centers. The latter represent more than ordinary retail space. This is a separate city within the city, where there is everything to spend time comfortably and excitingly – not only for a couple of hours, but even for a whole week. What are the authentic shops in the style of Bedouin tents, not to mention the world’s largest mall “Dubai Mall”, whose area is equivalent to the area of 50 football fields. Perhaps, Dubai is the only city on earth where shopping with a small amount of money does not upset, but, on the contrary, brings pleasure. Especially during the period of grand sales, when discounts on clothes and some categories of goods are 80%. They are held twice a year. In winter it is the “Dubai Shopping Festival”, starting immediately after the New Year and ending in mid-February, and in the summer there is a 10-week festival “Dubai – Summer Surprises”, starting in the middle of the first decade of June (in 2014 – from August 2 to 5 September). The events are really significant, since not only commercial organizations are involved in their arrangement, but also representatives of show business, as well as international pop stars.

    The best time for excursions

Dubai has a very hot climate, so it is more expedient to plan a trip for cultural and educational purposes from mid-autumn to mid-spring

Dubai is a young, rapidly developing city of high-tech innovations and stunning projects, so there are no historical sights here, and all excursions are exclusively “urban”: dizzying skyscrapers, one more beautiful and taller than the other, mega luxury hotels, man-made palm islands “Palm Islands”, the world’s first theme park “Ferrari”, the Dubai World Trade Center, etc. Although there is still a drop of antiquity, albeit artificially created in most cases, in the midst of “architectural frills” and blatant luxury: the Dubai National Museum, the Heritage Village ethnographic village, the main symbol of the Muslim world of the United Arab Emirates, the Jumeirah Mosque and the old quarter Bastakiya. The best time to participate in excursions is the second half of autumn, winter and early spring. During this period of time, cultural and educational recreation can be diluted with trips to the beach. However, in January and February, swimming will be quite invigorating.

It’s time for festivals in Dubai

Absolutely all the holidays celebrated in Dubai are held on a grand scale, attracting the attention of the world tourist community

Grandiose celebrations and festivals are held all year round in Dubai, which are distinguished by great splendor in this city. To visit at least one of them is a great success, since the emotions that you experience will be remembered, if not for life, then for many years. Try to plan your trip so that it coincides with the date of any holiday. As mentioned above, January-February and June-July are the time of the Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises. Another commercial event takes place in November – Dubai International Jewelery Week. Also this month, the international air show “Dubai Air Show” is held every two years. December is traditionally marked by the Dubai Motor Show auto exhibition (every two years, sometimes the dates are shifted to November). In January – the prestigious Desert Classic golf competition. February for the sports world is the Dubai Open tennis tournament and the most expensive horse racing in the world, the prize fund of which is about $6,000,000. In March, an exhibition of goods for the newlyweds “Bride Show” opens.

    Climate in Dubai

Dubai has a subtropical climate type. Most of the year is characterized by dry weather. In general, two periods can be distinguished: hot and humid (in terms of relative humidity), lasting from May to October, and warm with little precipitation, falling in November – April. A distinctive feature of the city’s climate is periodic dust storms that occur at any time of the year.

    Dubai in Spring

The most favorable weather conditions are observed until the first days of May

Spring is perhaps the best time to visit the emirate. The first month, despite the still possible rains, is characterized by a gradual increase in daily temperatures. During the day, the air warms up to +27..+28 °C, and at night it cools down to +17 °C. Therefore, warm clothes will be very helpful. But in April, there is no need to load luggage with extra things. On the contrary, the lighter the outfits, the better. After all, from that moment on, real heat comes to the city: the sun becomes aggressive, at noon meteorologists fix about +32..+35 °C, and precipitation is extremely rare – at most 1-2 days. Fortunately, evenings still bring relief, the thermometer drops by 12 ° C-15 ° C. In May, the eye is constantly on the lookout for air conditioning, as Dubai is stuffy, as a result of which the lack of oxygen is felt extremely acutely. In addition, in the shade, the thermometer shows approximately +36 ° C.

Until mid-autumn, the thermometer stays in the mid-thirties

If you think that the September weather, as it happens in many countries, brings relief, then you are mistaken. Temperatures are starting to drop and a few bars of the thermometer are being eaten away by the August mid-magpies, but it’s still very hot. Nevertheless, many Arabs who fled to cooler overseas resorts in the summer are beginning to return en masse to their native land. The average daily air temperature is +38..+40 °C, at night you should expect not lower than +27..+28 °C. October is the beginning of the high tourist season, as the exhausting heat begins to lose ground, and, importantly, it is already noticeable. During the day in October and November – +35 °C and +30 °C, respectively, but at night, in conditions of gusty wind, it may be cool – +22 °C and +18 °C.

[Photogallery] Autumn lanespotting in East Midlands: Aviacionline

If there’s something most planespotters hate, it’s definitely taking pictures in a cloudy weather. But since the ticket from Dublin to East Midlands was 10 euros and the next best option was staying home for the weekend, there I went.

Initially, the idea was to photograph Ryanair’s only Boeing 737-700, EI-SEV, which is based at the airport, but of course that one didn’t appear.

Still, it was a fun few hours of planespotting in a cold weather. Hope the pictures are minimally good, as it was very painful to edit them.

Most traffic at this time of the year consists in Brits from the surroundings trying to run away from the weather in the UK. Its catchment area hits cities like Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and even Birmingham.

And Jet2 manages to capitalize very well on that; they have four 737-800s based in the airport.

I wrote about Jet2 this year and their business model is just fascinating. They are the airline that created the holiday company, and not the other way around; this livery, in fact, is the «official» livery of their vacations business, Jet2holidays. According to their financial filings, half of their passengers fly through one of their packages.

Besides Jet2, the other favourite in East Midlands is, you guessed it, Ryanair.

This Winter season, the Irish carrier also has four 737-800s based in the airport. This one is seen arriving from Knock, or as they like to be called, Ireland West Airport.

If I didn’t luck out with the weather, at least I did with this traffic: a Polish Air Force C-295, which landed from Rzeszów. About an hour later, a second one of the same type landed in East Midlands.

This is the worst edit of the batch, but at least I tried. Here, G-GDFZ is seen bringing some happy Brits after a great, deserved time in Málaga.

These two weren’t easy either, but I think it was one of the first times I’ve ever seen an Airbus A300. It was loud and I don’t think the photos make justice to it, but still…

East Midlands is an important cargo hub to the big three (DHL, FedEx and UPS), given its privileged location and the abundance of free space in the airport. According to the airport, in fact, it is the UK’s largest airport for dedicated freight.

And although most of the cargo traffic arrives and departs at night, there are some scattered flights during the day in trunk routes.

Another one I was happy to see was this Q400 (now it’s officially called the Dash 8 again, or something along these lines), from flybe’s revival.

The airline’s strategy still consists of making flights, with their smaller aircraft, that even low-cost carriers cannot.

From East Midlands, flybe serves Belfast and Amsterdam, from where this flight was arriving.

About an hour after the first CASA, this second Polish Air Force aircraft landed. Definitely a highlight.

The last one before heading back to the hotel was this TUI 737-800.

As one of Europe’s largest holiday companies, TUI also has a sizeable presence in the UK. Its airline, formerly known as Thomson, has a 737-800 based in East Midlands. According to their schedule, this Winter they are connecting the airport to Alicante, Lanzarote and Tenerife.

And by the way, it was cool to get a shot of their old livery before it’s gone for good.

Miami, USA – March Weather

What’s the Weather Like in Miami in March

When you are heading to Miami, it can be desirable to strike a balance between the hotter summer months and the cooler winter months. Going somewhere in the middle works well, as you will find if you choose to visit in March.

Sunshine

Temperature

The average highest temperature in this month is 26°C, with an average low of 18°C certainly mild by anyone’s standards. Your average daily temperature rounds out at about 22°C, which should be a comfortable climate for walking around or even visiting the beaches.

Sea Temperature

If you do decide to go for a swim, the water will be pleasant. The average sea temperature this month will be 24°C certainly not the hottest you can expect in Miami, but decent enough that heading to the beach is not unheard of even for locals.

Rainfall

This part of the USA is known for a climate that is relatively steady all year round, without extreme cold. However, the rainfall can be quite intense at times. March is a good, dry month, with just 7 days of rainfall and an average precipitation of 64mm.

If you want to be sure that you can spend the day outdoors with no risk of getting wet, be sure to check the forecast before you leave your hotel. Rain can sometimes come on quite suddenly, with a torrential downpour coming out of nowhere. This should not interrupt your day too badly, however, as there are plenty of friendly shops and cafés throughout Miami where you can pass some time to avoid the worst of the rain. Don’t expect so much this month, though during the peak of the summer the rain really comes down all the more.

Hotels for Miami in March

Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa

If you are looking for a place to stay in March, then being beside the beach is probably not as high a priority as it would be in the summer. Restaurants and Bars for Miami in March

Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop and Pies

f you want to visit a bakery, then Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop and Pies has to be on the top of your list. You will find it in the Wynwood area, and the desserts on offer will make your mouth water. From key lime pie and apple pie to chocolate dipped flans and various cheesecakes, discovering this place could really make your waistline expand.

Zuma

For a dinner reservation, how about Zuma? The chic Japanese food they serve here is legendary, and as a result you may need to book far in advance for peak times. Sample menu items include tempura prawns, beef skewers, and plenty of sushi dishes.

Things to Do in Miami in March

In March, you can spend time outside a little more comfortably than you could in the winter months. With that in mind, you might want to explore a little more.

Zoo Miami

You could head to Zoo Miami, a delightful zoo where the animals roam freely in various habitats rather than being caged. You can see all of the main attractions here, from lions and tigers to elephants and zebras, taking in bears and snakes along the way.

Wynwood Arts District

The Wynwood Arts District is famous for street art and galleries, often freely available to view on the walls of the buildings. If you want to stroll around here by yourself you will see plenty, and walking tours are also available to give you some extra information.

Miami Design District

There is also the Miami Design District, where you can view amazing architecture and interior design juxtaposed against high couture fashion shops and fine dining. It’s a great place to be day or night, with something to offer to every visitor.

And it was great.

People gather on the square of the Belorussky railway station.

Here is my company:

Here are just pictures. The people are dark. Nobody pushes, nobody swears, nobody smokes. A lot of young people. Boys and girls in light-coloured T-shirts are running around, handing out water. Is free. Who does not like small containers – there are cars along the cordon, they give out large bottles. Is free. Lots of police. There are many vigilantes with red armbands. They look from afar, smile, answer questions. A lot of volunteers. Smiling guys and girls from RSSU are especially noticeable – special thanks to them. We walked, stopped, walked again. Sang songs. They shouted “thank you” to the veterans. They shouted “Hurrah-ah-ah!” when the wave of sound reached us – and our “Hurray” swept forward towards Red Square. The area was full. The bridge was full. All the streets in Zamoskvorechye were full. And everyone walked easily, without haste, without hurrying anywhere and without pushing anyone, with smiles. It was a good day and a good deal.

    People’s March |

For the holiday “Day of National Unity!” on a frosty weekend and holiday November 4, 2008 people’s march “Russia is our family!” was held in Krasnoyarsk.

The whole column symbolized one large family, which for the first time gathered at a common holiday. Students of the Siberian Federal University actively took part in the people’s march, despite the cold, damp weather. In almost all the movements presented, one could see our students. They set the rhythm and pace of the entire column, shouting out the slogans of the movements.

The celebration was also attended by the older generation, who came to share their experiences with younger families with their children. Activists of various youth movements along with their families also took part in the march.

The column was decorated with the flags of the Russian Federation, streamers and standards with the logo of the holiday – November 4, streamers with slogans – corresponding to the theme of each sector of the column, flags of youth movements and public organizations. In order for the column to look like an organic whole, there was a common element for all participants in the people’s march – a white scarf with the logo of the holiday.

The activists of youth movements were the first to go, they are joined by the children’s sector by symbolically handing over a banner with the logo of the holiday, then representatives of public organizations join, veterans with top officials of the city and the region, deputies of the Legislative Assembly and the City Council complete the collection of the column.

The march finished on the Theater Square, where our students from various creative teams of the Student Culture Center met everyone on the stage.

From the stage, the celebratory March in white scarves was met by such a familiar and beloved host of university events, director of the CSK – Roman Bogdanov.

All townspeople were congratulated by first persons of the city and the region, such as Prime Minister of the region E.Sh. Akbulatov and First Deputy Mayor K.M. Filippov , and leaders of youth public associations, who, in honor of the holiday, released white doves into the sky as symbols of peace, kindness and happiness.

Santa Pola is a beautiful coastal town on the Costa Blanca, a real paradise for lovers of the sea. Here, both those who love a “lazy” beach holiday and those who like active pastime will find something to their liking. As of 2018, 31,745 people live in Santa Pola, and during the summer period the population increases due to the influx of tourists.

In this article we will tell you about what to see in Santa Pola, about the history of this city, its attractions, beaches, weather and natural beauties. nine0003

        Santa Pola: history

The history of Santa Pola is inextricably linked to the sea. The first settlement here was founded by the Iberians around the 4th BC. Then the Romans came here, under whom the legendary port Portus Illicitanus grew here – one of the most important centers of maritime trade in the Mediterranean. In the 16th century, a fortress was built to protect the local population during pirate attacks. Finally, in the 18th century, a settlement was finally formed, which received the name of Santa Pola.

        Weather in Santa Pola

Santa Pola is one of the cities on the Costa Blanca where you can enjoy sunny, warm weather almost all year round. It enjoys a wonderful Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. You can swim in the sea from June to October or even November, although there are those whose swimming season lasts almost the entire year. Water sports such as windsurfing, kiting, diving, snorkeling can also be practiced here all year round. In general, the weather in Santa Pola will not let you down!

        Castle of Santa Pola

In the center of Santa Pola, in the Plaza de la Glorieta, there is a castle-fortress – a cultural heritage site of Alicante. The castle was built in the 16th century and is an example of Renaissance military architecture. The fortress was designed to protect the locals from pirate attacks. Today, the castle houses a cultural center, as well as the Museum of the Sea (read about it below). You can enter the castle through the main gate, which leads to the armory courtyard Patio de Armas. If your plans do not include visiting the castle, do not deny yourself the pleasure of at least admiring its view from the outside, having lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants or bars in Plaza de la Glorieta. nine0003

There is an impressive observation deck hanging in the air over a cliff. A great plan for a weekend in nature for the whole family, as there are many hiking and cycling trails around the lighthouse. nine0003

        Santa Pola Watchtowers

If you want to touch history, visit the old watchtowers in Santa Pola, built in 1552, during the reign of Philip II. The towers served as early warning of pirates approaching the shore. The warning was transmitted using a smoke signal during the day and light (fire) at night. We are talking about the two towers Torre del Tamarit (Torre de la Albufera, Torre de las Salinas) and Torre de les Escaletes (Torre i Pep). Another observation point (Tower Atalayola) was located on the site of today’s lighthouse. nine0003

        Plaza del Calvario

Calvario is the legendary quarter of Santa Pola, located in the highest part of the city. Families living on the territory of the fortress moved to the area in 1967. The name of the quarter is due to the fact that there is a path here, symbolizing the biblical Golgotha (Calvario in Spanish). Having overcome 14 sections corresponding to the fourteen stations of the Catholic worship of the Way of the Cross, you will get to the chapel where the image of the Virgen de la Piedad is kept. nine0003

The Weather in Tenerife 28th February to 6th March

Spanish forecasters are on a roll at the moment; their predictions for weather on Tenerife were once again almost right on the mark. Most of Tenerife saw a mix of sun and cloud throughout the week before the weekend ended on a gloriously sunny note. There were no real spells of prolonged rain and the rain that did fall, mainly in the north, tended to be at night. Whilst the north experienced more rain, the south east experienced quite windy weather; good for the windsurfers out there but it did cool temps a bit. The forecasters also got the temperatures right. Althought in the sunshine it felt lovely and warm, in the shade it felt a cool-ish 18C during some days. Temperatures were much the same in all coasts. At least this year carnival weekend on Tenerife got off to a dry start with clear skies and twinkling stars smiling on the revellers at the street parties in Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz.

The Weather in Tenerife 7th March to 13th March

Carnival on Tenerife hits its full stride this week, so it should come as no surprise to seasoned veterans that a mix of sun cloud and the ubiquitous carnival rain is predicted for every day wherever you are on Tenerife. The good news is the place with the least chance of rain is the capital Santa Cruz on the day of the Coso Apoteosis (closing parade – it’s a technical term as carnival doesn’t actually stop after it).

Temperatures are set to stay around 20/21C during the day. It’s not the best week for Tenerife weather, but with sun forecast for every day as well it’s likely that showers will be short lived and probably at night.

To put Tenerife’s weather into perspective have a look at our carnival photo from Saturday night’s street party in Santa Cruz. How often, even at the height of summer, could you dress like that at midnight in the UK?

Weather in South Tenerife – A mix of sun and cloud with a 50 to 85% chance of rain every day. Temperatures should remain around 21C.

Weather in North Tenerife – A mix of sun and cloud with a 60 to 90% chance of rain every day. Temperatures should remain around 21C.

Weather in East Tenerife – A mix of sun and cloud with between a 30 to 85% chance of rain every day. Temperatures should remain around 21C.

    Weather in South West Tenerife
    – A mix of sun and cloud with a 50 to 85% chance of rain every day. Temperatures should remain around 21C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater
    – A sunny week in the Mount Teide crater except for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. It’s a completely different outlook for Mount Teide’s summit which should have snow showers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Before the sun returns for the weekend. Temperatures should average around 4C in the crater and -7C on the summit.

It is also going to be a windy week on Mount Teide’s slopes, so check that the cable car is operating before planning any trips up Spain’s highest mountain.

At this moment the cable car is operating normally.

So far today it’s pretty much as predicted; a mix of sun and cloud across Tenerife.

Pic: Carnaval open air party at midnight – still a bit too early for most carnival goers.

    health benefits of canned peaches

A huge number of people are simply crazy about the delicate taste of delicious peaches canned in syrup.

This is how peaches are best used to add to all kinds of culinary delights, such as cakes, fruit jellies, berry pies, sweet, rich casseroles, and ice cream. In addition, sometimes finely chopped slices of high-quality canned peaches http://tortsnab-msk.ru/persiki-polovinki-v-sirope/ are used to decorate a variety of milkshakes, and not only cocktails. The calorie content of such peaches is quite small, about the same as that of ordinary fresh fruits. Only if they were not canned in syrup using sugar.

Useful properties of any canned peaches:

    1. They contain a large amount of pectins, for this reason they perfectly improve digestion, thoroughly cleanse the intestines and remarkably prevent constipation;

    2. Fill the body with a huge complex of necessary and important vitamins, as well as useful minerals;

    3. Relate to sources of fast energy;

    4. Can significantly improve not only the condition of the skin, but also the hair;

But the benefits of canned peaches are minimal when compared with fresh ones.

Throughout the magnificent summer season, we often do not have time to eat or qualitatively process berries, vegetables or, for example, fruits that are collected on your backyard, and it becomes necessary to throw them away with great regret.
