June. Alone
Spain, Canary Islands
9.6 /10
In June 2015, I decided to relax on the sunny Canary Islands, on the Atlantic coast. Visiting these Spanish islands was my childhood dream. Based on my long and difficult savings, a travel agency offered me a ticket to the resort town of Playa de Las Americas, located on the island of Tenerife. It was my first such long-distance trip and I had a lot of pleasant impressions from it.
Playa de Las Americas is the largest and main resort town on the island, where the infrastructure is most developed.
During my vacation, I traveled all over the island far and wide. The island is very large and colorful, with two climatic zones – cloudy, rainy and sunny, hot. The ocean is just amazing! Very warm, salty and transparent. But most of all I liked that the entry into the sea is gentle with a gradual deepening. Suitable for children and for those who are just learning to swim.
In general, I really liked the Canary Islands and this wonderful resort. Great vacation for reasonable money!

June. Magnificent Canaries.
This summer my wife and I were on holiday in the Canary Islands. We lived in a beautiful hotel on the largest island of Tenerife. For almost ten days of our vacation, we made a boat trip on a yacht along all the islands of the Canary archipelago. It was just an amazing trip! Picturesque green islands, blue sea and a feeling of relaxation and carelessness!
It is very warm and sunny in the Canary Islands in June. Sometimes gusty strong winds can blow from the sea or it can rain for a short time. But other than that the weather was kind to us. From other excursions, we purchased from the locals a sightseeing bus trip to the famous dormant Teide volcano.
Illegals seized the Canary Islands – Rossiyskaya Gazeta
This is the conclusion reached by Spanish experts in the field of immigration law. True, this is not about conflicts with tourists who come here to relax, but about the rejection of illegal immigrants, by hook or by crook getting to the Canary coast in order to stay to live and work in Spain.
In one of the main cities of the Canary Islands, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a large demonstration took place, in which about 15 thousand people took part. The demonstrators demanded to stop the influx of immigrants to these parts. Such large-scale protests of local residents against illegal immigrants arriving here are noted for the first time. The organizers of the event have already officially denied the allegations of racism and xenophobia made against them.
Indeed, this time the march went smoothly, there were no clashes. Nevertheless, the calls made by the demonstrators to prevent further “invasions” of African illegal immigrants into the Canary Islands cannot but alarm the Spanish authorities. Here they remember the sad experience of speaking out on racial and national grounds in France.
Spain has always been considered one of the most tolerant countries in Europe towards immigrants. Refugees from Africa and Latin America have always been treated well here both at the domestic and at the official level. The government allocates 25 euros per day for each adult immigrant who is taken into care by non-governmental organizations. Minors are entitled to 80 euros daily.
However, the growing flow of Africans fleeing to Spain through the land borders of Ceuta and Melilla, sailing on boats and boats to the shores of the Canary Islands, has recently acquired alarming proportions and has become the cause of real xenophobia towards illegal immigrants on the part of many Spaniards.
The fact that the problem of illegal immigration is becoming really serious is evidenced by the data reported to RG by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior. Only since the beginning of this year, about 28 thousand inhabitants of African countries illegally arrived in the Canary Islands in order to stay in Spain. Of these, the authorities managed to establish the real country of residence of only eight thousand illegal immigrants. As a result, they were deported to their homeland – to Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Morocco and Nigeria.
But far more refugees – about 19,000 people had to be transported by the authorities to the mainland, where they were either transferred to the care of non-governmental organizations or ended up in so-called internment centers. By law, a refugee who ends up in such a center can be kept there for no more than 40 days, during which the police try to collect as much information about him as possible. Regardless of the results of the police investigation, after this period, he leaves the walls of the center. If it was possible to establish where he came from, he will be deported to his homeland, but most often he simply remains in Spain.
The number of foreigners who have settled in Spain, according to some estimates, is about one and a half million people. Most of them are employed in far from the most prestigious jobs – they work as janitors, laborers, builders.
Against the backdrop of the xenophobic manifestation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the decision taken on October 31 by Madrid to introduce a two-year moratorium on free entry to Spain for citizens of Romania and Bulgaria does not look particularly successful. These two countries will become full members of the European Union in early 2007, and their citizens, according to the rules of this organization, will be entitled to free movement between EU member states.

Blanter’s march at RPL matches: is it necessary or not?.
RPL has lost its chip – before the matches no longer sounds “Football March” by Matvey Blanter. Melody appeared in 1938. A friend of the author, Vadim Sinyavsky, asked me to come up with some kind of musical accompaniment when the teams entered the field. She and Blanter calculated the process to take about 24 seconds. This is how the main musical symbol of Soviet football was born. And then Russian.
Problems with Blanter’s march began in 2009, when there was a conflict between the RPL and the Russian Authors’ Society (RAO). The latter demanded 0.2% of ticket sales for the performance of “Football March”. The composer’s granddaughter Tatyana Brodskaya recalled that the march was written as a gift to the football community, which means that its performance at RPL matches is free. The league won the argument, but Blanter’s march stopped being played.
– It was a very good march. He always invigorates and sets up for football. It could have been refreshed and made in some more modern arrangement, ”singer Yuri Okhochinsky, the performer of one of the most famous songs about Zenit, was sad in the company of the correspondent of Sport Day after Day. – Blanter is a melodist and an excellent composer. Then we complain that we forget traditions and live for today. Of course, I would like the march to return. Well, it would have been somehow mediocre, but it was good, a melody in the ears of many.
Mikhail Boyarsky also unequivocally spoke out in favor of the return of the Blanter March. But first he expressed indignation at the position of the Russian Authors’ Society.
– Fraer’s greed will destroy. The new march should be for the consideration of the public, there is nothing wrong with that, but this rudeness about deductions should somehow be punished. These copyrights are just crazy. Forget about them, everything new sooner or later comes under certain circumstances. This means that the stars have aligned in such a way that a new march is needed. Didn’t know Blanter. I treat him wonderfully, he is a wonderful Soviet composer.
The most interesting thing is that no one forbade Blanter’s march. RAO received a response to its demands. Clubs can, as before, run a march from the Soviet era at their home matches. But something is not in a hurry with this. Or maybe they just don’t want to return the Soviet attribute of football.
“Before the start of the season, changes were made to the regulations, which are published on the RPL website. What are copyrights? There is also a lot of writing on the fence, we have trolls. Everything is written in the regulations: what will happen, how it will be, and so on, ”Sergey Alekseev, press officer of the RPL, once again explained to the correspondent of Sport Day after Day.
However, this does not mean that all the stadiums in Russia should hear the Blanter march again. Maybe it’s time for a new anthem. As incendiary as the melody before the start of the 2018 World Cup matches. This idea has one obvious plus – no copyright claims will come from anyone. Yes, and the RPL will continue a series of innovations: after the formidable bear, a soundtrack may appear on the emblem, which will not be ashamed to download to your iPhone.

Weather data for Playa de las Americas was collected from the MERRA-2 project from NASA, which used a climate model combined with historical data from weather stations around the world to estimate what the conditions were like for every point on the Earth.
For all data based on historical data, we’ve averaged the data from the past 11 years (2010-2020). For example, for the hourly temperature at 10am, we’ve looked at the temperature at 10am on every day in March (e.g., March 1, March 2, etc. in 2010, 2011, etc.) and took the arithmetic mean. We did not smooth the data, so for example, our daily temperature line will have some randomness due to the fact that weather is random in the first place.

We base the humidity comfort level on the dew point, as it determines whether perspiration will evaporate from the skin, thereby cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier and higher dew points feel more humid. Unlike temperature, which typically varies significantly between night and day, dew point tends to change more slowly, so while the temperature may drop at night, a muggy day is typically followed by a muggy night.
The chance that a given day will be muggy in Playa de las Américas is essentially constant during March, remaining around 0% throughout.
For reference, on August 31, the muggiest day of the year, there are muggy conditions 45% of the time, while on January 14, the least muggy day of the year, there are muggy conditions 0% of the time.

Temperature and Dew Point
There are 2 weather stations near enough to contribute to our estimation of the temperature and dew point in Playa de las Américas.
For each station, the records are corrected for the elevation difference between that station and Playa de las Américas according to the International Standard Atmosphere , and by the relative change present in the MERRA-2 satellite-era reanalysis between the two locations.
The estimated value at Playa de las Américas is computed as the weighted average of the individual contributions from each station, with weights proportional to the inverse of the distance between Playa de las Américas and a given station.
The stations contributing to this reconstruction are:
Tenerife South Airport (GCTS, 95%, 10 mi, east, 157 ft elevation change)
La Palma Airport (GCLA, 4. 9%, 74 mi, northwest, 56 ft elevation change)
To get a sense of how much these sources agree with each other, you can view a comparison of Playa de las Américas and the stations that contribute to our estimates of its temperature history and climate. Please note that each source’s contribution is adjusted for elevation and the relative change present in the MERRA-2 data.
Other Data
All data relating to the Sun’s position (e.g., sunrise and sunset) are computed using astronomical formulas from the book, Astronomical Algorithms 2nd Edition , by Jean Meeus.
All other weather data, including cloud cover, precipitation, wind speed and direction, and solar flux, come from NASA’s MERRA-2 Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis . This reanalysis combines a variety of wide-area measurements in a state-of-the-art global meteorological model to reconstruct the hourly history of weather throughout the world on a 50-kilometer grid.
Land Use data comes from the Global Land Cover SHARE database , published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Elevation data comes from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) , published by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Names, locations, and time zones of places and some airports come from the GeoNames Geographical Database .
Time zones for airports and weather stations are provided by AskGeo.com .
The information on this site is provided as is, without any assurances as to its accuracy or suitability for any purpose. Weather data is prone to errors, outages, and other defects. We assume no responsibility for any decisions made on the basis of the content presented on this site.
We draw particular cautious attention to our reliance on the MERRA-2 model-based reconstructions for a number of important data series. While having the tremendous advantages of temporal and spatial completeness, these reconstructions: (1) are based on computer models that may have model-based errors, (2) are coarsely sampled on a 50 km grid and are therefore unable to reconstruct the local variations of many microclimates, and (3) have particular difficulty with the weather in some coastal areas, especially small islands.
We further caution that our travel scores are only as good as the data that underpin them, that weather conditions at any given location and time are unpredictable and variable, and that the definition of the scores reflects a particular set of preferences that may not agree with those of any particular reader.

Beginning of spring in Spain – weather in Madrid in March
Is it March outside? It seems to be spring, but it is so slushy, damp, gray . .. and the mood immediately drops. Don’t despair, the surest way to improve your mood is to go somewhere warmer. Spain is deservedly considered the warmest country in Western Europe. Here the climate is Mediterranean, so in March the real spring already reigns. The most beloved by all tourists, of course, is the Spanish capital. If your choice still stops at this city, then for sure you will want to know what the weather is like in Madrid in March. Then this article is for you.
On average, at the beginning of the month, the air temperature during the day confidently stays at +14 C, and by the middle of the month there is an increase of +24 C. The nights at this time are also quite warm: the thermometer stays at 8-10 degrees. But, of course, there may be cooling, but insignificant: up to 6 degrees during the day and 4 at night. And yet, there is a clear trend towards an increase in temperature, so, in general, the weather in Madrid in March is very favorable for recreation and travel.
Of course, the temperature conditions in April are even more comfortable for relaxing (read a separate article about the weather in Madrid in April), but it is at the beginning of spring that nature awakens from a rather short hibernation, so you can admire the first fragrant flora.
Don’t forget your sunglasses!
Yes, in March in Madrid there are indeed a lot of sunny days, very rarely overcast. No more than 10 days can be partly cloudy and cloudy. Rain is possible 1-2 times in March. But it’s even good! Who didn’t want us to take a walk on a warm spring day in the rain at least once in our lives? In addition, the Spanish city of palaces and squares really has something to see. For a better memory of all the sights of the city, do not forget to take a photo and (or) video camera. In addition, the weather will only favor your photo and (or) video shooting. Puerta del Sol with the “zero” kilometer, the main square of the city Plaza Mayor, the fountain of Cybele, the royal palace, the cathedral, the Escorial palace complex – all this can be seen with your own eyes!
Summing up…
… I would like to note that the weather in Madrid in March is truly spring: warm and sunny! This is a wonderful time for tourist as well as romantic walks, including at night. The air temperature at night is quite high. March is best time for sightseeing
In March, Mallorca island is ready to please the tourists with warm sunshine and wonderful weather. Even if it’s too early for swimming, enjoyment of spring sun won’t leave indifferent adults, nor young travellers.
Mallorca weather: March
It’s impossible to say about the weather in Mallorca in March that it’s bad or good. For example, if you want to get the most useful spring tan then this time of year in Mallorca is not suitable because the temperature of the air and sea is equally cool, just + 16⁰C. In early March, even lower.
But the sun shines gently, and if it’s raining, then it’s only for a short while. In late March, the probability of precipitation is much less.
But if your goal is exploring the attractions of the island and enjoying the beauty of blooming gardens, then March is the perfect month of the year. By the way, March is the perfect time for walking on Majorca.
The sight of flowering almond trees is something all tourists remember for a long time. Besides, visiting the resort at the end of the low season is a good way to save money.

What to see in Mallorca
Going for a walk
If cool weather doesn’t scare you, and you stocked up pretty well with warm sweaters and jackets, it’s time to go on trips. Sightseeing in Spain in March, is a real pleasure.
The sun is shining, but not hot, which makes long walks enjoyable. In addition, there are still not a lot of tourists around, and you can leisurely explore all the landmarks.
Get acquainted with the local architecture
Undeniably, architecture lovers will be impressed with the unusual, picturesque houses of Palma de Mallorca and the surrounding towns. The buildings do not all resemble each other; each of them has their own style, but the most amazing thing is that together they all create a harmonious and unique look. It is impossible to remain indifferent to the beauty of the Cathedral La Seu, which is located right on the beach.
You can also admire Santisima chapel, mouldings for which were designed by the most fashionable Spanish artist, Miquel Barceló. And that’s not all, there are a lot of places which are worthy of attention in Mallorca.
How about shopping?
Shopping here is not less interesting than excursions. Undoubtedly you will enjoy visiting numerous local shops. Here you can buy a lot of lovely trinkets, which are make from a variety of materials, and jewellery.
There are especially a lot of products from pearls, real and artificial. But they all are equally beautiful and you will notice that your hand reaches for your purse.
Try the local cuisine
We should also mention that Spanish cuisine is incredible. Each meal in a cafe or restaurant can be considered a real treat. Pungent aromas of spices and roasted vegetables may make you crazy!
Shall we dance?
And when the day is drawing to a close, it’s time to visit one of the numerous night shows. Sitting at the table and enjoying noble Spanish wine, you can watch the most incendiary dance artists in the world of flamenco. The passionate guitar melodies, clattering of heels, sonorous sound of castanets and flashing black and red clothes of the dancers are fascinating.
Every moment the pace is increasing and it seems that even the air around passionate young men and women becomes fiery. How can you miss such a sensual and dynamic spectacle? These memories of Spanish flamenco will be with you forever!
But there is another strong argument in favour of a holiday in Majorca in March.

Cancun, Mexico
While Cancun might be famed for being a party capital of the world, March is out of season – meaning you can enjoy the highs of up to 30°C in peace on the white sandy beaches and in the blue sea. Essaouira, Morocco
For pleasant averages of 20°C and a more off-grid holiday destination, Morocco might be up your street – specifically, Essauouira. It’s a port city and resort on the Atlantic coast, is a fairly cheap option and takes under 4 hours to get there – but EasyJet only fly there on Tuesdays and Saturdays, so you’ll have to plan your trip around that.

Seville, Spain
If you’re set on going short haul, the South of Spain is probably your safest bet because it’s closet to The Equator. Try Seville for a beautiful city break, or somewhere along the Costa Del Sol for a beach break.

The end of March and the beginning of April marks the end of the rainy season in South East Asia – but that doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to rain and isn’t hot enough for a vacation. Which of the Canary Islands is the best for your next holiday?
The Canary Islands are a popular holiday destination for British people looking to get away in the sun. Like most British favourites, they’re sunny, have plenty of beaches and tourists aplenty, however the Canary Islands have much bolder reasons to pay them a visit.
Located in the Atlantic Ocean alongside the coast of Africa they have a unique blend of holiday appeal. Warm all year round with an Atlantic breeze making them well-suited to water sports, while the fusion of Spanish and African heritage creates a must-visit destination for culture seekers. Despite lying within the same geographical cluster, each island has its own distinct appeal and when deciding to visit Canaries it’s just a matter of picking the one that perfectly fits your holiday needs.
Fuerteventura : The island that is best for beaches
The flattest of all the islands and located closest to the African continent, Fuerteventura is also the hottest of the islands and is the best for those seeking a relaxing beach holiday. With stretches of golden white beaches, sun worshippers won’t have far to go to find a spot to soak up the rays. Also being the slighter windier of the islands makes it the best island for water-sport enthusiasts.
Popular resorts in Fuerteventura: Corralejo, Costa Antigua and Jandia.
Gran Canaria : The island for the adventurous traveller
Described as a ‘miniature continent’ due to diverse scenery ranging from sandy beaches, to subtropical rainforests, rugged mountains and a bustling capital city. The best way to see this scenery is on one of the many well-marked hiking or bike trails across the island. Nearly half of the island is protected land under the Canary Islands Network for Protected Natural Areas.and a third of this land is under protection as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Popular resorts in Gran Canaria: Puerto Rico, Playa Del Ingles, and Maspalomas.
Lanzarote : The island with scenic landscapes
An island that is partially volcanic, Lanzarote lava fields and caves are a must-see. The rest of the island is also breathtaking, with mountains in the north and flat sandy beaches in the south. Architecture fans are also in for a treat as the arhiectect César Manrique born and died on the island leaving behind his legacy of architectural style. He fought hard to prevent the building of high-rises so the majestic views of the islands have also been preserved.
Popular resorts in Lanzarote: Playa Blanca, Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise.
Tenerife : The island for when you want it all
The most popular of the Canary Islands, and it’s easy to see why. If you can’t decide between an island where you can relax on a beach or an island you can climb some mountains, if you’re a couple with kids or a couple without kids, or you want scenic day-time activities but eclectic nightlife in the evening then Tenerife is the island that suits all criterias.
Popular resorts in Tenerife: Los Cristianos, Playa De Las Americas and Puerto De La Cruz .

Well, I’ll tell you first hand about water. she is cold. even in summer, even in winter , it is warmed up by 3-4 degrees higher than usual (+19) only in the autumn months. the rest of the time is refreshing. I was there for the new year, in March it will be the same. the worst thing is the wind. Don’t take Playa de Inglés in Gran Canaria. it blows all the time. I liked Maspalomas. In Tenerife, and actually on other islands, usually the southwest is the best place. about entertainment – they are standard there, the month of travel does not matter. if this is important, then choose hotels in cities and not 5 stars. because there the audience will be solid and in the end it can be boring (also from personal experience)
– is it possible
Should I rent a crib cheaply next to the sea? – you can, I’ll make a bed for you on the buoy Travelers Club 07835/549696 Traum-Welt-Reisen

Looks like it’s time to look at the statistics.
As you can see, in Playa del Ingles the water temperature at the end of December is on average 20°, and in March it is about 18°. Playa del Inglas water temperatures peak in the range 9 (72 to 75°F) on around the 11th of September and are at their minimum on about the 21st of February , in the range 18 to 20°C (64 to 68°F).

practice I was two years ago in the Canary Islands for the new year and this year. the difference is very large and the temperature of water and air. I have these tables …. just in this case I say that I experienced it myself. just in Inglés the last time I swam and sunbathed, but this time on the beach I couldn’t open my eyes, there was such a wind and the water that reached me like a wave seemed to be ice.

Well, there is an average temperature for all years on the graph (thick white line) and fixed highs (thin black lines). So it turns out that we must always count on this interval, and the average value – as the most probable.
