With 3,000 hours of sunshine every year, and winter temperatures averaging in the low 70’s, Fuerteventura beaches lure travelers to their shores. Offering beautiful stretches of white and black sand, terrific year-round surfing, sailing, diving, sport fishing, and all sorts of adventure both on land and water.
Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands (but owned by Spain), located about 63 miles off the coast of Africa. Flights to Fuerteventura Spain go into the airport at El Mattoral, from dozens of cities across Europe, making it an easy and affordable destination for a beach vacation.
So Which Fuerteventura Beach is For You?
There are over 150 beaches on the island ranging from fine, white sand to black volcanic rock formed from volcanic activity, dating back thousands of years. Generally speaking, the beaches on the north part of the island have expansive sand dunes, and the beaches in the south tend to be a bit more remote.
How do you select the best beach in Fuerteventura, Spain? Or maybe it’s the best for today, with a list of others for the days to come?
Here are some highlights of the main Fuerteventura Beaches to get you thinking:
Ajuy Beach
This fine black sand beach isn’t suitable for swimming due to the strong currents but is still a popular attraction for visitors to Fuerteventura. Walk up the paved trail to the top of a nearby cliff and enjoy the view of Mother Nature at her finest. That’s Ajuy Beach in the photo at the top.
Caleta de Fuste Beach
Light-colored fine sand and calm water make this a great beach for families with young children. Lining the curve of a bay and located close to many hotels, the beach is popular with tourists, for both swimming, wading, and other water activities. You can even ride a camel on the beach!
Cofete Beach
This rather desolate, wild beach has waves and wind that make it unsuitable for swimming, yet it has an unexplainable appeal. Nominated in the past by TripAdvisor travelers as one of the best beaches in Europe, it’s worth exploring to find some solitude and to appreciate nature. It’s also a great spot for some photography.
Corralejo Dunes
This fine sand (in the photo above) is part of the National Park system and extends down to a turquoise beach that is popular with families for sunning, swimming, and other water activities. The beach is clothing optional, so leave any prudish attitude in the car.
Corralejo Beaches
There are several small bays offering beaches that are enjoyed by tourists and locals alike. The family-friendly spots are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and all water activities. You’ll also find a surf school and an array of bars and pubs located right on the beach.
Costa Calma Beach
This beach is popular with families as the waves are calm, the water is shallow, and the sand is fine and white. There are a variety of hotels very close by catering mostly to tourists. Keep in mind that clothing is optional and nude sunbathing is permitted.
El Cotillo Beach
Several bays, separated by lava rocks, make up this beach area. Also a contender once as one of the best beaches in Europe, according to TripAdvisor travelers, the water is very shallow, making it a great spot for families with young children, and the fine sand makes for great sunbathing. Again, clothing is optional, and nude sunbathing is allowed.
El Salmo Beach
Another quiet beach that is frequently overlooked by visitors, since no hotels are located nearby. The sand is fine, but there are lots of lava rocks scattered about, so sunbathing may be difficult. Still, if you want to escape the crowds, it’s a solid choice.
Esquinzo Beach
This small beach has fine sand with larger lava rocks, that you can easily work around and even stroll from one bay to the other. Family-friendly, with a town located nearby, this is a very popular beach. Nude sunbathing is accepted and clothing is optional.
Giniginamar Beach
This remote beach on a pebbly bay is more of a local favorite than a tourist one. A scattering of fishing boats and limited numbers of visitors make it a rather romantic beach spot. Sit and talk, have a picnic, and enjoy having only a few people around you.
Gran Tarajal Beach
The beach on a large bay has fine sand that makes it perfect for sunbathing, although it’s more popular with locals than with tourists. Enjoy swimming and sunning yourself, or find a pick-up game of beach football (there are goals on the beach).
Jandia Peninsula
13 miles of sandy beaches make this a popular spot for beach lovers. It’s divided into four sections, each with its own special personality, and offering something for everyone. Clothing is optional on these beaches.
La Lajita Beach
This small beach on a quiet bay is primarily a fishing area, so you’ll find more locals than tourists. The palm-lined sand is dark and fine near the water, becoming rockier as you move away.
La Pared Bay
Rough surf and a strong current make this beach unsuitable for swimming, but it is a beautiful showcasing of natural beauty. If you’re happy just to sunbathe with the sound of crashing surf, this beach is for you.
Las Playitas Beach
This fine, dark sand beach is a local favorite. It has no public access and you must go through hotel gardens to get to the beach. There is a sailing school, as well as kayaks and surfboards available for rent.
Mal Nombre Beach
Calm, shallow waters and fine sand make this a great beach for families. Get there early and snag one of the small black sandcastles, perfect for laying on the beach in privacy. Clothing is optional and permitted.
Playa de Garcey Beach
This spot is the former resting place of the American Star Liner which sunk in the waters right in front of the beach but has now been removed. Getting to the beach is a real effort, and will take you through the scenic country, but strong currents and dangerous jellyfish make this unsuitable for swimming.
Puerto de la Cruz Beaches
Predominantly locals visit these rocky beaches around small bays. The nearby town is the southernmost part of the island and is full of sights worth seeing. Combine a visit to the beach, with a visit to the town, for a great day trip.
Sotavento Beaches
These beaches are quite windy, making them popular with surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders, but not so much with sunbathers – unless you fancy lots of sand in your face (pictured above).
There are some protected areas in which to lay, so get there early to nab one. The water is shallow and good for entertaining small children, but you will need to watch out for lots of water activity. Clothing is optional and nude sunbathing is widely accepted.
Tarajalejo Beach
A little off the beaten path, this dark sand beach is full of rocks and pebbles but makes an easy stop-off if you’re walking on the promenade that runs alongside it. Lots of services are available in the area and you can even hire a catamaran!

New nude beaches you need to bask on this year

Avoiding tell-tale tan lines just got a little bit easier with the unveiling of some new nude beaches around the world.
Rio de Janeiro got its very first official nude beach last December. Abrico Beach is an hour from the city centre and it’s Rio’s only designated nude zone.

In Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, a 500m sandy stretch between Trafalgar Beach and Mpenjati Nature Reserve will be clothes-free from April. There’s already a bare beach at Sandy Bay in the Western Cape. The reassuringly inaccessible beach is located south of Llandudno in Cape Town.

In Spain, Playa Marina, a short distance west of Fuengirola, has been established as a nudist beach. It’s not the quietest spot in the world as there’s a motorway to the back of the beach, but there’s a drinks kiosk that’s open in tourist season and the bare beach stretches for nearly a kilometre.

According to Nick Mayhew, author of The World’s Best Nude Beaches & Resorts, nude bathing is a growing trend, especially in Europe. Attitudes are easing among officials and locals.
“There are nude beaches appearing all the time, although it’s rare that they actually get any formal recognition now in many countries because skinny dipping is increasingly accepted without comment.
“Pretty much any wild beach in Spain can and does see naturist use, for example, and the same is true to a lesser extent in France and many Greek Islands outside the very busiest summer weeks.”
One sure-fire way of gauging the market for nude bathing is by looking at naturist accommodation. Most people are only interested in skinny-dipping and sunbathing but the range of resorts is growing.
Mallorca
The naturist holiday resort of Skinnydippers Mallorca more than doubled in size last year. Book early to reserve your spot.
Fuerteventura
A large new naturist resort opened a year ago on the edge of Corralejo town, Gran Hotel Natura, while a second naturist complex in the same town, Infiniti Apartments, has gone fully naturist all year round due to popular demand.

There is some bare-beach etiquette to remember – baretiquette if you like – if you are planning to visit a nudist beach.
1. Clothing free doesn’t mean you turn up completely naked
Pretty obvious, but the nude beach only starts at the nude beach. And be prepared with drinks, snacks and anything else you need for a day at the seaside.
2. Don’t ogle
You might be an evangelist for nude bathing but keep that to yourself while you’re on the beach. Casting off is a personal choice and respect others’ rights to privacy whether they’re clothed or unclothed.
3. Don’t snap
Never photograph people without asking their permission first. And never, never, never upload pictures to social media networks like Facebook or Instagram.
4. Don’t forget your sunblock
Slap on the sunscreen to prevent painful sunburn in sensitive areas!

Europe’s heatwave: UK sees third-hottest day on record, wildfires rage in France and Spain
Paris
CNN
—
Extreme heat has engulfed parts of western Europe, with wildfires raging in France and Spain, a worsening drought in Portugal, and the third hottest day on record in the UK on Monday.
Fire has spread across27,000 acres in the Gironde department of southwest France, forcing 32,000 people to evacuate, the local prefecture said Monday night.
The nearby town of Cazaux recorded 42. 4 degrees Celsius (108.3 degrees Fahrenheit) on Monday, the hottest it has seen since its weather station first opened more than 100 years ago in 1921, according to French national meteorological service Météo France.
Major cities in Western France, such as Nantes and Brest, also hit new heat records, it said.
In Finistère, on the country’s Atlantic coast, fires had first been reported on Monday afternoon; less than eight hours later, the flames had decimated more than 700 acres of land, prompting the evacuation of several villages.
In Spain, wildfires swept the central region of Castile and Léon, as well as the northern region of Galicia Sunday, Reuters reported. Fire also forced the state railway company to suspend service between Madrid and Galicia.
More than 70,000 hectares have been destroyed in Spain because of fires this year, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Monday. “Seventy-thousand hectares, to give you an idea, is almost double the last decade’s average,” he said.
The heat wave in Portugal has intensified a pre-existing drought and sparked wildfires in central parts of the country, including in the village of Memoria, in the Leiria municipality.
Paulo Cunha/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock
The country’s Carlos III Health Institute on Monday estimated a cumulative total of more than 510 heatwave-related deaths in the country, based on statistical calculation of excess deaths.
Hundreds have also died in neighboring Portugal, where sweltering temperatures exacerbate a severe drought.
On Saturday, Portugal’s Health Ministry said 659 mainly elderly people had died in the previous seven days, Reuters reported.
An elderly couple also died Monday after their vehicle overturned while fleeing wildfires in northern Portugal, the country’s state broadcaster RTP reported.
In total, over 1,100 people are thought to have died due to the ongoing heatwave in southern Europe.
The blistering heat wave is expected to peak early this week.
As the heatwave moves across the country, French capital Paris is expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius (102.2 degrees Fahrenheit) on Tuesday.
In the UK – where Monday’s temperatures reached 38.1 degrees in eastern England’s Santon Downham, making it the third hottest day on record – officials warned things would likely get worse.
The head of the UK’s Met Office said the country could experience the “hottest day” on record Monday.
Alberto Pezzali/AP
Tuesday is “expected to be even hotter,” according to the Met Office’s CEO, Penelope Endersby.
“It’s tomorrow that we’re really seeing the higher chance of 40 degrees and temperatures above that,” Endersby told BBC Radio on Monday.
“Even possibly above that, 41 is not off the cards. We’ve even got some 43s in the model but we’re hoping it won’t be as high as that.”
In France, the heat wave is expected to move away from the western part of the country on Tuesday, heading toward the center and eastern part instead, including Paris.
Belgium’s Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI/IRM) has issued a “code red” weather warning for heat in two provinces on Tuesday, forecasting temperatures up to 40 Celsius in the west and southwest.
“With such very high temperatures certain measures will be necessary: drink regularly, wear lighter clothes, spend the day in cooler rooms, monitor the state of your health regularly, eat easily digestible food (and in smaller portions), keep doors and windows closed to keep the heat out. Pets and animals also need extra care,” it warned residents.
Nearly half of Europe’s territory, including the UK, is “at risk” of drought, researchers at the EU Commission said Monday.
The Joint Research Centre highlighted that the drought in much of Europe is “critical” as the “winter-spring precipitation deficit … was exacerbated by early heatwaves in May and June.”
Water supply may be “compromised” in the coming months, according to the report.
Speaking to CNN on Monday, Oxford University Professor Myles Allen warned that such heatwaves will be inevitable if mankind doesn’t soon reduce its carbon emissions.
“This isn’t a new normal because we’re just on a trend towards ever hotter temperatures,” Allen told CNN on Monday.
The solution, he said, is sweeping change across the energy industry. Individual companies are unlikely to change their business models unilaterally due to concerns over losing competitiveness with rivals, he added.
“It’s got to be a regulation on the industry as a whole,” said Allen.

Best Places to Visit in May in Europe
May marks the start of summer for us and at this time of the year, we are always looking for the best places to visit in May in Europe for our spring getaway. We usually like to plan our vacations at least a few months in advance. So, if this is the case for you too, then we hope our list of the best places to visit in May in Europe will help you choose where to travel to next.
Spring is a wonderful time of the year! The flowers are blooming and the weather is getting warmer but not too hot yet. Another reason we love to travel around Europe in May is that the crowds have not yet arrived yet at many destinations and we can find great cheap options for hotels and flights.
If you’ve always dreamed of visiting any of the following travel destinations and are wondering if May is a good time to visit them, then this article is for you!
Here are the 10 best places to visit in May in Europe.
BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN MAY IN EUROPE
1. SANTORINI, GREECE
Santorini is one of the most romantic destinations in the world, but that comes at a price. During the peak months of July and August, prices in Santorini skyrocket. Even if budget isn’t an issue, finding available rooms in popular locations like Fira and Oia is a real challenge. May is your window of opportunity to find fantastic deals on those dreamy hotel rooms with panoramic views of the caldera and a private pool. Rooftops are becoming a mecca for many trying to capture the perfect Instagram-worthy photo. However, if you come in May, the crowds are significantly lesser so you can enjoy the magical sunsets from your room while sipping a glass of champagne and without any distractions.

2. BERAT, ALBANIA
Berat is one of the most picturesque towns in Albania. Located less than 2 hours from its capital, Tirana, the town has become increasingly popular in recent years. This quaint town sees its greatest influx between June and August, with accommodation availability becoming an issue at times. You can beat the crowds (and the inflated prices), by visiting in May for an authentic experience without the tourists. The warm temperatures of May create the perfect conditions to explore all that Berat has to offer. Also, you can enjoy many outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, and biking.

3. MALTA
We have said it several times and we will repeat it; Malta is a wonderful destination all year round! The Maltese islands enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine a year. May is your last chance before summer to enjoy warm temperatures and fewer crowds. The island is very busy from June to early September. Malta is one of the best places to visit in Europe in May for a relaxing holiday, lots of sun, and beautiful beaches.

4. POZNAN, POLAND
Everything comes alive in Poznan at this time of the year. Spring brings out the best in Poznan; cafes set up their tables outside, the city is bustling with people enjoying the warm spring days, and the flowers are in full bloom, turning Poznan’s beautiful parks into a playground for both adults and children. In May Poznan enjoys an average of 10 hours of sunshine per day, which means that you can spend most of your time outside doing fun things. This is one of the most underrated Polish cities and we are here to convince you to give this beautiful city a try. You can thank us later!

5. ISTANBUL, TURKEY
Istanbul is a busy city all year round. Its airport is one of the largest in Europe and therefore attracts not only those who come here just to visit the city but also those who stay between flights and try to use the extra hours and see Istanbul. Winters in Istanbul can be pretty harsh, but every spring everything comes alive. Life in Istanbul is fast-paced, but we recommend slowing down and trying to experience it at your own pace. Sunny spring days and mild temperatures will offer you a unique opportunity to get out and explore it with fewer crowds. Istanbul is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in May in Europe if you are looking for a unique destination with lots to see and do.

6. CYPRUS
As we have already mentioned, for us, as soon as May arrives, we immediately have the feeling that summer is already here, and in our minds summer automatically equates with beaches and hot sunny days. If you’re like us then you’ll love Cyprus. When it comes to “best places to visit in May in Europe”, Cyprus is one of our top picks. This is the best time to visit Cyprus to take advantage of the great temperatures and enjoy days at the beach while working on your tan. There aren’t many places in Europe that can offer that in spring. Cyprus gets very crowded in the peak months, but you can find great prices on hotels and car hire in May. Don’t miss the Flower Festival which takes place across the island every year.

7. BURGUNDY, FRANCE
Wine lovers, rejoice! Burgundy is one of the top destinations in France for those who love wine and want to taste great wines straight from the source. There’s no better time to go to Burgundy than May. During this month, average temperatures in Burgundy range from 9℃ to 18℃, perfect if you want to explore the countryside during the day without battling the heat, and the cool nights are ideal for relaxing and sipping wine in a charming wine bar. We think Burgundy is one of the best places to visit in May in Europe for another reason; unbeatable prices. May offers a great opportunity to explore this gorgeous French region on a budget. We don’t know about you, but for us, that is a big winning factor.
8. MADRID, SPAIN
Madrid has always been our favorite city for an exciting cityscape. As the capital of Spain, Madrid packs a bunch to see and May is one of the best times to visit. Why? Because with an average daytime temperature of 18℃, you’ll want to spend as much time outdoors as possible, exploring the remarkable parks, plazas, and open-air markets. When you are done with all that, you can follow the locals’ lead and sit in a tapas bar and enjoy a local cerveza (beer) and mouthwatering tapas!
Best of all, crowds are still low in May, so you don’t have to worry about booking ahead at trendy restaurants or queuing to enter the museum. If you happen to visit around the 15th of May when locals celebrate their patron, San Isidro, then you’re in luck. During this time of the month, there are a plethora of fun events across the city, including music, food markets, parades, and all sorts of other fun activities.
Now you can see why we think Madrid is one of the best places to visit in May in Europe.
9. MYKONOS, GREECE
Mykonos is actually one of the best places to visit in Europe in May! This sensational island is one of the most popular destinations in Greece (and around the world, dare we say it) and that comes at a price; huge crowds and sky-high prices. However, in May the island is still relatively quiet and hotels have only just begun to welcome visitors for the summer season. That means you can take advantage of the low occupancy and find flight tickets and hotel rooms at a bargain.
The weather in May in Mykonos is beautiful, with maximum temperatures of 24℃ and minimum of 17℃. You can spend your days swimming in crystal clear waters and soaking up the Meditteranean sun and your nights sipping cocktails in a trendy bar. We don’t think it can get better than this so if you’re still wondering which are the best places to visit in May in Europe, then Mykonos is one of your safest bets.

Tourist hordes have yet to arrive in Dubrovnik and you can have this iconic European destination practically to yourself if you visit in May. Dubrovnik has a fascinating history and every building is within its walls located within its walls it feels like it has remained intact over the years. To learn more about its history, be sure to book a walking tour. We strongly recommend you rent a car and also explore some interesting places near the city as well as its exceptional beaches.

Hot summer 2021 from Sakhalin to Antarctica. July broke almost all temperature records

This summer won a prize at the Global Warming Olympiad and proved that the planet is not cooling down, but heating up. July 2021 for the second year in a row was bronze among the hottest on record in the world and silver in Europe.
European scientists monitoring climate change in the EU’s Copernicus Center reported on Thursday that the main summer month has been a third of a degree warmer than the average temperature over the past 30 years.
It was only hotter at the peak of the summer of 2016 and 2019, and then only by hundredths of a degree. And in Europe, July 2021 gave way only to 2010, when, due to abnormal heat in the western part of Russia, the average temperature in Europe exceeded the last 30 years by as much as 1.7 ° C.
However, not everywhere the population escaped under the air conditioner in the traditionally warmest month of the year. In the north-west of Russia, in Portugal and Germany, it was cooler than usual, and some were also flooded.
Which only proves the general trend of the planet’s warming, scientists say.
They have been unanimously saying for a long time that global warming is expressed not in the arrival of cozy warmth to replace dull chilliness, but in the swinging of the weather “swing” between cold and heat.
This is because the warming of the planet leads to failures in the well-established system of cooling and circulation of water and air. Droughts, frosts, hurricanes, forest fires and floods are becoming more frequent.

South-east Europe suffered a July 2021 heat stroke. In the photo – a fire in Greece
According to the latest report of European meteorologists, July turned out to be warmer than average almost everywhere. And this is an unpleasant trend: nine out of 10 record-breaking hot Julys have occurred in the last decade. Seven – for the last seven years.
In Asia, extreme temperatures have been recorded in Russia (in the Far East and Sakhalin), as well as in geographically close areas of Japan and China.
In the western United States and Canada, the heat has not subsided since the beginning of summer. North Africa was warmer than usual.
And in the southern hemisphere there were no cold weather. The winter in Patagonia was unusually mild, and Australia did endure a record heat wave for the entire time of observations.
A new wave of floods – from Transbaikalia to London
Fire trains and helicopters. How burning forests are put out in the USA and Canada
But Europe took the brunt of the blow.
In the south-east of the Old World, abnormal heat was especially noticeable, and forest fires in Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey are proof of this. At the opposite end of the continent, Northern Ireland languished with suffocation, where a permanent coolness was strengthened both in consciousness and in the name. A similar situation developed in July in Iceland and Greenland.
And the northeast was no exception. Such a sultry summer has not been seen in Helsinki since 2010, and before that – never at all. And this despite the fact that in July last year in Finland it rained two and a half times more than the norm and it was colder than usual by 1-2 degrees.
Conversely, in Portugal this time it was cool, and last July was the hottest in all 90 years of observations.
How bad is it? We’ll find out on Monday
All this reads like reports from the front. And the world has long resigned itself to the fact that it is so.
Climate change on the planet threatens humanity, as it is fraught with natural disasters, mass migration, flooded cities and fields, bankruptcies of insurance companies and states.
Image description,
In the west of Antarctica, July was sunny and warm. True, in the east of the continent it was colder than usual. Winter is still…
Scientists have long identified the cause of climate change – emissions into the atmosphere as a result of human activities. And almost all countries in the world have agreed to fight this problem by reducing emissions.
Five years ago, they signed the Paris Agreement and committed to keeping the global increase in average temperatures at 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
However, the situation has worsened since then. Environmentalists argue that the planet is warming twice as fast and that it is high time to set more ambitious goals.

They hope that the starting point will be the global climate summit in Glasgow in early November. And acceleration can give a landmark report, which the UN will publish on August 9.
In it, we learn how scientists’ understanding of climate change on the planet has evolved since the last global report was released in 2013.
It will become a bible for environmentalists, politicians and businesses planning their lives for the coming decades. And the revelation of John the Theologian for generations who will have to live in this wonderful time.
A thousand-page summary of many years of research by the world’s leading scientists will be released next Monday. At the same time, the BBC Russian Service will cover it in detail and talk about how world science assesses the rate of global warming, how confident it is in the links between extreme weather events and climate change, what scenarios we will live on and how quickly the planet will warm up. by those 1.5 degrees, about which it is written in the Paris Agreement.
And also about how soon the world will have to take on increased obligations, more actively switch to electric cars, refuse coal and fine for greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

May 9 is not celebrated in Germany and there is no Victory Day. The Day of Liberation from National Socialism (as it is officially called) is celebrated on May 8th. But the former Soviet veterans living here today gather for “their” holiday. No one, of course, interferes with this and does not look askance at them.
Eternal Odessa – about World War II
“At first, I felt uncomfortable celebrating Victory Day in Germany,” says 87-year-old Maria Chomskaya. At the celebration, arranged for the participants of the Second World War in the Cologne synagogue, from the nursing home where she now lives, a woman arrived in a long emerald dress and a black openwork cape with medals. In the ears – large earrings with turquoise.
About the war, which she used to call the Great Patriotic War, and in Germany, as well as in the rest of the world, they call the Second World War, we do not talk for long. After the very first words about what she, then a 14-year-old girl, had to endure in besieged Leningrad, Maria begins to cry. Having moved to Germany 22 years ago, she still, according to her, remains a patriot of Russia: “I had such a good time there, how can I forget it?”
Photographs of the blockade survivors living in Cologne are hung in the corridor of the synagogue Photo: DW/Katsiaryna Kryzhanouskaya
A native of Odessa, Marlene Fridman does not call herself anything other than Odessa. Almost every day he calls up his relatives who stayed there and worries about his hometown. Nevertheless, he does not regret the decision made in the late 1990s to leave for Germany. 17 years have passed since the operation performed in a German clinic, although doctors gave him a maximum of three years before the operation. 87-year-old Marlene (named so, by the way, in honor of Marx and Lenin by his aunt – “an ardent Komsomol member”, which he talks about with humor) looks much younger than his age. But our conversation ends: the concert dedicated to the defeat of the “Third Reich” begins.
Red carnations and a short translation of Russian songs
140 guests, including 45 war veterans, camp prisoners and blockade survivors, take their seats at tables in a large bright hall. On the stage there is a piano and red carnations in large vases, carnations are also on every table. Despite the fact that the holiday takes place in Cologne, there is nothing specifically “German” here: “Song of the 10th Battalion”, “If there were no war”, “Victory Day” sound from the stage … The audience sings along with pleasure, alone the pair even begin to waltz.
Grigory Krupnik, 94, enters the stage. The former Muscovite talks about how, literally in the first days of the war, he ended up on the Western Front as part of the 108th Infantry Division. The story of how he was wounded by shell fragments, how he woke up among his dead comrades, how he crawled along a burning forest, is being translated into German. They translate just in case: only a few people from those present do not understand the Russian language.
At the meeting of veterans in Germany – not only about the war
However, at this meeting, immigrants from the former USSR spoke, of course, not only about the past war. Many of them began their conversation not with memories of the past, but with reflections on the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Boris Denenburg Photo: DW/Katsiaryna Kryzhanouskaya
“I didn’t know what a Ukrainian, a Russian, a Jew was – we didn’t have that. And now everyone is divided, and it’s impossible to understand what’s going on,” says Boris Denenburg, honorary chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Jewish Community of Cologne.
He went to the front in 1941, was wounded twice, once shell-shocked. Born in Poltava and educated in Leningrad, the former dental surgeon hopes things will work out. “Yes, it cannot be that the Ukrainians fought with the Russians! Everything will fall into place!” he is convinced.
Looking for information about Lanzarote wildlife? Driving around Lanzarote you will see herds of goats grazing on the hillsides or a lone donkey / mule tethered in a field. The camel train is spectacular if you catch them walking to or from work at Timanfaya.
For wildlife we have rabbits and partridges that are very good at hiding in the low bushes, these can both be hunted on permitted days of the week. We do have hedgehogs but unfortunately I haven’t seen any alive.
There is a small herd of cows in Haria, occasionally around 8 of them are seen in the fields on the right as you enter the village from Arrieta. There are a few stables for horses and the ones bred on the island have adapted to the rough landscape and have developed wider hooves for more grip.
Insects
Cockroaches are a way of life here, they can be found in most areas of the island and shouldn’t be taken a sign of poor hygiene, some places are worse than others but generally they stay out of the properties if you treat them with special spray to deter them.
Locusts don’t live here but have been blown to the island during a calima, they die after a few days and can be seen in the red, green and yellow stages of life. Other insects to be blown to the island have been ladybirds and dragon flies.
We love watching the geckos and lizards playing in the sunshine and seeking an outside light at night. Lizards are slimmer and all toes point forward, geckos are heavier built and their toes are more round and the back leg toes point backwards.
In the garden we haven’t found worms, it’s strange to dig down and not find them! I am told the native worms are big and grey coloured and can be found in compost type material and that the government imported Californian worms to distribute to the local farmers.
Fish
The sea life around Lanzarote is not dangerous, there are angel sharks, sting rays, moray eels and barracuda all of which could give you a nasty shock if aggravated.
There are many dive sites and shoals of dorada (bream) vieja (parrot fish), cherne (stonebass) can be seen. Large single grouper watch with interest and there are caves of langostinos (prawns) and pulpo (octopus) hiding in the rocks.
Schools of dolphins have been seen swimming off Puerto del Carmen around the old harbour area and whales have been occasionally seen in the waters surrounding the island. Some of the more enchanting sea creatures to be found in the crystal clear waters include sea horses, trumpet fish, turtles and cuttle fish.
Birds
Anyone visiting the promenade along Arrecife would notice the jostling of the egrets in the trees near to the bandstand, these birds look like small white herons with a white or yellow crest on their heads. This bird also seems to like the red picon areas lining main roads around the islands.
Birds of prey such as the osprey, kestrel and kites can be seen hovering watching mice or lizards. The partridges and pheasants are usually spotted running along the landscape hiding from the dogs sent to flush them out.
Other than seagulls, collared doves, sparrows and pigeons which all seem to thrive here keep watching for the occasional glimpse of a parakeet, swift, warbler, finch, Atlantic canary, bunting and hoopoe.
That’s a brief summary of the Lanzarote Wildlife. There are some fabulous walks you can do around Lanzarote to enjoy it.

Wildlife – Lanzarote
The proximity to the African continent is This is reflected in the faunal population of the island of Lanzarote more intensely than in the western islands of the archipelago, especially in relation to invertebrates.
Birds are protagonists in the characteristic fauna of Lanzarote, only taking into account those that nest permanently on the island, the number of thirty different species is reached.
The fish fauna is also notable for its variety and richness. Special mention should be made of the blind albino crabs that have their habitat in the inner lagoon of the Jameos del Agua and that have given Lanzarote so much fame, since it is a unique species in the world.
Vertebrates in Lanzarote
Despite the fact that among the vertebrates the most represented group on the island are birds, there are two species of reptiles, both endemic, which should be mentioned due to their importance:
In Lanzarote there are 34 species of nesting birds, apart from the migratory birds that visit the island. The Canarian Houbara (Chlamydotis undulata fuerteventurae) stands out among the nesting ones, being this one. a species endemic to Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and half of its population being found on the latter island. Other species present in this peculiar habitat are the runner (Corsorius curspr) and the alcavarán (Burhinus oedicnemus).
The greatest ornithological attraction is found in the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, which is a ZEPA zone (Special Protection Zone for Birds). The marine birds stand out, of which a total of seven species inhabit; Due to its abundance, we must mention the Cory’s Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea), which maintains the largest colony in the entire national territory in Alegranza, with some 8,000 breeding pairs.
Because of its rarity, we must mention the small breeding nucleus of the Bald-breasted Warbler (Pelagodroma marina) in Montaña Clara, which represents the only breeding point a of the entire archipelago. Important contingents of the Common Storm-Peter (Hydrobates pelagicus), Bulwer’s Petrel (Bulweria bulwerii) and Paíñ The Madeiran (Oceanodroma castro), as well as various birds of prey, such as the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus), the Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), in addition to important numbers of the Barbary Falcon (Falco pelegrinoides), and the entire insular population, about 10 pairs, of the Eleanor’s Falcon (Falco eleonorae), a globally threatened species.
There are other areas of great ornithological interest such as: the Timanfaya National Park, the Ajaches Massif, the Rubicón plains, of great importance for the Houbara Houbara Canary and the Corredor, and the Barranco of Teneguime, where the Owl (Tyto alba) and the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) nest.
Most of the island’s mammals are introduced with the exception of the Canary Shrew (Crocidura canariensis). Despite being widely distributed throughout the island territory, the largest population is concentrated in Montaña Clara, due to the absence of the House Mouse (Mus musculus), a small mammal that represents a serious competitor for the shrew.
In Lanzarote, agricultural land par excellence, there are many farm and farm animals such as goats, donkeys, chickens, roosters and sheep. As for the mammals, the donkey and the camel are the main representatives. Both were used in field tasks to transport or drag the plow. The abundance of partridges and wild rabbits allow hunting.
Invertebrates in Lanzarote
241 invertebrates have been described, highlighting the presence of unique species in the Canary archipelago and invertebrate populations located at an unusual depth in the rest of the islands. Islands.
The groups that most stand out in the terrestrial entomological fauna of Lanzarote are insects and arachnids. The first of these, the most numerous, is made up of endless endemic species, in many cases shared with Fuerteventura, which constitute a faithful paradigm of the evolution that these invertebrates have experienced on the island.
Furthermore, given its proximity to the African continent, it is in the block of eastern islands where the clearest North African influences appear, which also characterize the Canarian entomofauna. Even today we are witnessing remarkable cases that illustrate one of the ways in which perform island settlement. We only have to mention the recent spontaneous introduction of the hymenopteran Delta dimidiatipenne (Saussure, 1852), a species of remarkable size and great flight capacity that in its worldwide distribution extends from the north of Áacute Africa to India, and which was found for the first time in 1990 on the island of Fuerteventura, later passing to Lanzarote and, finally, to Gran Canaria.
It is in the Canarian entomofauna that there is a greater dispersion in the bibliography referring to the Canary Islands, a fact that ultimately reflects the breadth of biodiversity, still to be discovered, that must be hidden on this island of landscapes and unique microenvironments.
Marine fauna in Lanzarote
Lanzarote is the northernmost island of the archipelago and to the north of it are, as we have seen, the islets and eastern rocks (La Graciosa, Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del West or Hell), which are home to areas where platforms of great interest to marine fauna are developed.
In this area there is a notable presence of species that may not be found in the rest of the Canary Islands or that are more frequent in these islets, since here they are more common. They find a refuge of special interest. 241 invertebrates have been described, highlighting the presence of unique species in the Canary archipelago and populations of invertebrates located at an unusual depth in the rest of the Islands.
In the 259 species of fish, many rare species are observed in the rest of the Canary archipelago and some endemisms of the caboso family. The populations of Abades (Mycteroperca fusca), groupers (Serranus atricauda) and rosemary (Centrolabrns trutta) stand out for their importance. They are frequent in these seabeds, even large sizes can be observed. Also, depending on the bottom and the area, specimens of old (Sparisoma cretense), jack mackerel (Pseudocaranx dentex), as well as snails stand out. as several species of wrasses and some important swimmers such as amberjacks (Seriola dumerili) and bicudas (Sphyraena viridensis), groupers (Epinephelus marginatus), populations of black fulas (Abudefduf luridus)) and alfonsitos (Apogon imberbis) to name a few.
In the open sea we can also find 6 of the 7 species of sea turtles existing in the world, all of them in danger of extinction, as is the case of the loggerhead and leatherback turtles. The waters of Lanzarote are also part of the migratory or feeding routes of groups of marine mammals (27 cetaceans and one pinniped): the bottlenose, striped and common dolphins, the gray pilot whales and tropical, the orca, the pygmy sperm whale, the minke whale, the Cuvier’s beaked whale and the monk seal, which had its last populations on the islet of Alegranza until the end of the 1960s.
Invertebrates
In the tidal zone, where the marine and terrestrial environments merge, we find a multitude of invertebrates; Among the latter, several species of limpets can be seen: the Canarian endemism known as the black limpet, the white limpet and the curvina limpet. Also several species of burgados and crabs, such as the old bait.
On the other hand, the cornices, overhangs and caves present in the area show a great diversity of sessile invertebrates, especially sponges, anthozoans and bryozoans that are in a state of minor deterioration than in other areas of the islands.
Jameito
A characteristic and very recognizable species of Lanzarote is the so-called Jameito (Munidopsis polymorpha), a small, albino and blind crab that lives exclusively in the saltwater lagoon that exists in the volcanic tube of the Jameos del Agua. This small crustacean is in serious danger of extinction due, among other causes, to the contamination of the seawater that is filtered.
Endangered Species
Species, endé ;micas or not, of vertebrate fauna with a higher degree of threat on the island of Lanzarote.
All are endangered species (E) according to the category established by the UJCN
Species, endemic or not, of vertebrate fauna with the highest degree of threat on the island of Lanzarote.
Halophiloscia canariensis: Endangered
Nesotis sabulicola: Sensitive
Chrysis larochei: Rare
Ctenolepisma rodriguezi: Sensitive
Among the most threatened marine invertebrates we can mention the black coral, the orange coral, the gorgonians, the antennae lobster, the Canarian lobster and the Canarian clam
Lanzarote Island
Lanzarote is the easternmost of the seven islands of the Canary archipelago. It is separated from the coast of Africa by about 125 km. The length of the island is about 60 km, and the width is only 15 km. Its total area is 845.9 sq. km, and it is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands. Of Lanzarote’s 213 kilometers of coastline, 10 kilometers are sandy beaches.
Lanzarote, like the rest of the islands of the Canary archipelago, is of volcanic origin. But here it is, perhaps, noticeably best of all, because on this small island there are 300 volcanoes at once. In 1730, 30 volcanoes erupted simultaneously on the island, and the eruption itself lasted six years. As a result of this grandiose eruption, almost a third of the territory of the entire island was filled with lava and covered with ash. Therefore, the plant and animal life on the island is still quite scarce. But this is more than compensated by the amazing beauty and unusual landscapes of the island. nine0003
Papagayo Beach, covered with unusual white and surprisingly clean sand, is one of the best beaches in the Canary Islands. It is located on the south coast of the island in Papagayo Bay. On all sides, the bay is protected by bare basalt cliffs, almost completely devoid of vegetation, which makes the landscape even more unusual. These huge cliffs divide the beach into many small sections. The territory of Papagay Beach has been declared a national park, so getting there is quite difficult. nine0003
Former small fishing village of Puerto del Carmen. Today it is one of the main tourist centers of the island, capable of simultaneously receiving up to 30,000 guests. And at the same time, the city managed to preserve the traditional architectural style: there are shopping centers, restaurants, and nightclubs, but no high-rise buildings. In the picturesque harbor of the city, you can admire the fishing boats or go on a boat trip. The wonderful sandy beaches of Puerto del Carmen are also one of the main local attractions. nine0003
Timifaya National Park. Its landscape is completely shaped by volcanoes. The territory of this park (about 50 sq. km) is under the protection of UNESCO. Visitor access to this park is limited in order to preserve the fragile flora and fauna of this harsh and beautiful place. There are several hiking trails in the park and one route where you can ride camels. Tourists can also go on a bus tour.
Volcanic activity is felt everywhere here: the stones, which are only a few centimeters below the soil level, are heated to a temperature of 100°C, and at a depth of 10 m the temperature reaches 600°C. Tour guides demonstrate this phenomenon to tourists by throwing dry branches into the pits, which flare up as soon as they touch the bottom of the pit. They also pour water into cracks in the ground, which immediately boils and bursts to the surface, like a fountain of a geyser. And in the small restaurant El Diablo, built by the project of Cesar Manrique, you can try local cuisine prepared with geothermal heat. nine0003
Puerto Calero, unlike Puerto del Carmen, is a very quiet and peaceful place, but there are clearly more signs of the usual “European civilization”. In the local port there are parking lots for private yachts, as well as the base of luxury catamarans Catlanza. Here, a yellow submarine awaits its guests, offering to dive for 45 minutes into the ocean depths and explore the underwater volcanic landscapes. The “land” cultural program includes a museum of marine mammals and an art gallery. nine0003
The fishing village of Caleta de Famara is located on the northern coast of the island, where the Atlantic trade winds constantly raise high (up to 3 m) waves. The wind is also quite strong, its speed reaches 10 m/s. All this attracts many fans of surfing and kitesurfing here. For these sports, international competitions are held annually in Caleta de Famara.
Aira. This municipality is located in the northern part of the island in the province of Las Palmas. Aira is surrounded on all three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. In the western part of Aira, a mountain range rises. There are many viewing platforms in this area, which offer amazingly picturesque views. One of the most famous sites of Mirador del Rio always attracts many tourists. The northern part of the region remains uninhabited after the volcanic eruption that occurred 300 years ago. nine0003
One of Lanzarote’s unique attractions is the cactus garden. Here on the territory of 5000 sq.m. more than 1000 different types of beautiful cacti have been planted. This garden was created by Cesar Manrique in the crater of an extinct volcano. One of the decorations of the park, an old windmill, is still functioning and producing flour from roasted corn. Once this product (gofio) was the main food of the inhabitants of the island.
Cuevas de los Verdes (or “Green Cave”) – this is actually a lava tube. The upper layers of lava cool faster and solidify. When, after the end of the eruption, the inner, red-hot, part of the lava flows down, then such a special tubular cave is formed. The Cuevas de los Verdes cave was formed about 3,000 years ago. This lava tunnel has a length of 6 km and is one of the longest on our planet. nine0003
Jameo del Agua is a beautiful landscape ensemble created by César Manrique on the basis of the failures of the arches of the Cuevas de los Verdes cave. Several auditoriums with excellent acoustics are equipped in the lava tube, and white cave crabs live in a unique salt lake. This place is so beautiful that Hollywood actress Rita Hayworth called it the eighth wonder of the world.
One of the most beautiful Spanish villages of Yaza in the 18th century was nearly destroyed by hot lava flows. But what happened can be called almost a miracle: the lava flow split into two branches and bypassed the village. nine0003

Vickie here, I thought I would share some insight into how the get the best deals for October half term.
I travel as a family of 4 with teenagers and October half term is by far my favourite and most appreciated holiday of the year, it’s that final ray of sunshine before we hibernate for the winter
This year we saw prices rocket as restrictions lifted and everyone (understandably) was desperate to get away. Most people wanted a short haul flight for a week with some guarantee of sunshine without breaking the bank
Top resort requests will always be the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura)
BUT AND ITS A BIG BUT ……
The tour operators know this, and the prices are reflective of the demand. The prices put people off as October half term is often a family’s additional or 2nd holiday after their main summer getaway and the Canaries just don’t offer value for money at this time.
MY ADVISE …… Take a look at the map below, all these resorts:-
Madeira, Morocco, Malta, Tunisia, Egypt, Crete, Rhodes, Kos , Southern Turkey and Cyprus are on a similar line of latitude to the Canaries . The weather here is lovely at the end of October. There are obviously no guarantees anywhere, but these resorts are all great and offer MUCH MUCH better value for money!
Food for thought. This year I went to Rhodes for October Half term. We had perfect blue sky everyday apart from one cloudy morning and it rained on the morning we left.
We stayed in a 5 star hotel All-inclusive and paid an equivalent price of a 3 star Self-catering property in Lanzarote!
The weather in Rhodes was better that week than it was in Tenerife
So, if you are looking for advice, value for money and recommendations, open your options up of destinations and give us a call & let us find you the perfect October deal that won’t break the bank.

Day 2 Puerto Radazul (Tenerife) – Marina Puerto de Las Palmes (Gran Canaria)
Puerto de las Nieves is a picturesque fishing village on the north coast of Gran Canaria.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: a city where everything is perfect. The magnificent ocean, the best beach in Europe, ancient architecture and the most friendly locals.
Training in setting sails, changing tacks.
Gran Canaria is not only magnificent beaches, sun and a sea of positive under palm trees, here we will see more interesting sights.
The capital of the island is Las Palmas. By the way, the age of many surviving buildings exceeds 500 years.
Cathedral of St. Anne, also known as Canary Cathedral (it was built from 1497 years long 400 years). In its appearance, one can notice a mixture of two architectural styles: late Gothic and neoclassical. Present in the exterior and elements made in the Baroque style. The church is now the seat of the Catholic diocese.
In addition to the temple, on St. Anne’s Square we will see the Bishop’s Palace (XVI century), the city hall and colorful colonial buildings. There are also figures of eight dogs made of bronze – it is these animals that flaunt on the coat of arms of the Canary Islands.
There are many museums on the island. Among them is the Museum of the Canary Islands – in its 11 rooms you can see many exhibits belonging to different eras, from 500 BC to 500 BC. e. until the 15th century. and the Atlantic Center for Contemporary Art, an interesting museum dedicated to avant-garde art and designed to show how Canarian culture is influenced by the traditions of Europe, Africa and Latin America.
How about a rum tasting? A few kilometers west of the capital lies the town of Arucas, which is famous for the largest rum distillery in the Canaries, Destilerias Arehucas, which has been operating since 1884.
There is much more to write about this island…about the mountain village of Artenare, about the island’s unique natural attractions, national parks, laurel and dragon trees, steep slopes, gorges, lakes, volcanic craters and

Day 5 Marina San Miguel (Tenerife) – Marina San Sebastian de la Gomera (Gomera)
The capital of the island – San Sebastian de la Gomera – is a small pretty town. The main attractions of San Sebastian are associated with the name of Christopher Columbus, who, on his way to the New World, stopped several times in the Canary Islands. The church where Columbus prayed before traveling to the shores of the still undiscovered America, the house where the navigator lived, the well from where they took water for his flotilla with the inscription “America was baptized with this water”, as well as the tower where, according to the guides, Columbus secretly met with the ruler of Homera.
Homer Island is unique in its nature. Be sure to visit the Garajonay National Park. This is the oldest forest in Europe, it has not changed for many thousands of years, not subject to the cold of the Ice Age. In the mysterious thickets of ancient trees, overgrown with beards of moss, episodes of The Lord of the Rings were filmed.
Driving around the island is a special pleasure: steep tales, a serpentine road with stunning views, waterfalls, terraces on the hills. For a complete island experience, head to the coastal town of Vale gran Rey.

google.com/maps/place/?q=place_id:ChIJhw6tNBJDzUURxZ2EVB-WjE0″>We spent a nice afternoon with our children aged 11 and 13 at the angry birds park. They were able to run around and burn some energy then play on some Xbox consoles. It’s quite expensive (hence only 4 stars). There was a place to put your outdoor clothes and shoes (which aren’t allowed) and free little lockers for your valuables. We got quite hot having a family game of football.
There’s a bar just outside where you can get drinks and snacks including free water. We spent about 4 hours here and probably could have stayed a little longer if we weren’t tired and hungry. I was worried there wouldn’t be enough for the big kids but they enjoyed it.
When we arrived (about 1pm) we had the place to ourselves. There were some more people when we left (just after 5pm) but it didn’t feel busy and we never had to wait for anything.

More about Best Price Promise
Angry Birds is the first theme park in Finland.
Perhaps there are no such people who would not know about Finnish angry birds attacking angry green pigs. The most popular game of recent years was mentioned even by a great supporter of information technology – Dmitry Medvedev, allegedly officials from Russia are more passionate about it during work than directly at work. In the spring of 2012, the first angry birds theme park opened in the Finnish city of Tampere. We could not help but go there and see when such an opportunity presented itself …
Finland is a country of birds that are taken care of in a northern country. They are free, they live close to people, they are not afraid of them, the Finns look forward to them in the spring and see them off with sadness in the autumn. It is not surprising that such a game was made in this country. Anyone who has ever driven along the winding and picturesque roads of Finland could not help but notice how many birds there are! Birds are literally everywhere, the forest is filled with bird voices. In cities, they also feel at ease, and seagulls on the Helsinki embankment are a separate story. nine0003 enlarge
But now we are going to Tampere, the second most important city in Finland after the capital. Angry Birds Land is located in the famous amusement park Särkänniemi.
The park is very popular with Finnish children, who also flutter like birds, running from attraction to attraction.
Angry birds are not hard to find – they can be seen from afar.
Who doesn’t know these angry and menacing birds now? nine0003 enlarge
Birds are very gentle creatures, but when their enemies, green pigs, approach their nests, the birds become warlike, protecting their chicks-children. Nordic character…
The park has various attractions stylized as birds.
Frightened pigs seem to be hiding from freedom-loving children.
Adults are photographed using the world-famous image of a bird strung in a slingshot. It’s about to shoot. nine0003 enlarge
If the elastic band breaks, it’s not a problem. The amusement park worker will always come with a ladder and take you down from the tree.
Bird eggs. The peace of birds during nesting must not be disturbed.
Even the urns are stylized as birds. In general, in Finland this brand has been used in almost everything: from children’s toys to interior items, bed linen and dishes…
Of course, there is a shop in the park where you can buy a soft souvenir-toy. nine0003 enlarge
In Finland, a drink has been sold for a long time to be as cheerful and energetic as this warlike yellow bird!
Finland’s clean lake air is good for children who run fast and breathe actively, filling their lungs with healthy energy.
Birds here and there.
Birds feed on flies on wires.
And they drink clean water from a faucet suspended in the air. nine0003 enlarge
By the way, this is the second crane of this kind we have discovered in Finland. The first crane was found by Vova from Moscow.
Angry Birds Land is just a small part of the large Särkänniemi amusement park!
But birds are not allowed on the main attractions!
There are children and teenagers in flight!
Man is not a bird, but there is a feeling of flight!
To get a bird’s eye view of Finnish beauty, there is a high observation tower in the middle of Särkänniemi. nine0003 enlarge
Being on this tower, a person can really feel like a bird!
Beautiful city of Tampere! According to a public opinion poll, this city is the best place to live. We don’t know, but it may be so…
From above, the park looks like a bright fairy-tale town.

Engry Burds Park – this is a semi -sports entertainment for children and a semi -sports park for children and adults. In the park, you can run, climb, ride cars, ride a cable car, play football, ride scooters around the track, jump on a trampoline and even shoot. You can’t tell everything in words, and if you are interested, just watch our video show about this Finnish park “Angry Birds” and see for yourself:
The only drawback is that the park where we were is located quite far, in the place Vuokatti, which is about 400 km from Imatra and 200 km from Joensuu. On the other hand, there are quite a lot of similar amusement parks all over Finland. There are also other Angry Birds parks. So it is not necessary to go to Vuokatti.
To do this, use the keyword search “huvipuisto suomessa”, which means amusement parks in Finland. Or follow this link here. nine0007
Here are some Finnish amusement parks for children and adults:
Angry Birds Activity Park Saimaa (Lappeenranta/Imatra)
Angry Birds in Kuusamon Tropiiki (Kuusamo)
Angry Birds Activity Park Vuokatti
Angry Birds Activity Park in Santa Park, Rovaniemi
Angry Birds Activity Park Saariselkä
Angry Birds Activity Park in Särkiniemi Amusement Park, Tampere

Linnanmäki0142
Moominworld Naantali Amusement Park
Visulahti Amusement Park, Mikkeli
On the map below, you only see Angry Birds themed parks like the one you saw in the video.
Some Angry Birds parks in Finland
If you search by keywords, you will often come across links to leisure parks and water parks that are open only in summer. So read carefully what the schedule is (almost all sites will contain at least an English version). nine0007
In general, even before the evil birds, such amusement parks, indoor sports grounds, were quite popular in Finland. For example, there are quite a lot of HopLop recreation centers in Finland. These are also amusement parks for children, they have the same climbing machines, cars, trampolines as in the Angry-Birds parks, except that the interior is without birds and pigs. It is quite possible to go to such a park, especially if you are relaxing with a company with a large number of children.
In addition, there are free “evil bird parks”, as in Espoo at Oittaantie 2, 02740 Espoo or here Suurpellon puistokatu 18, 02200 Espoo. nine0007
You see, there are many parks and many pages in Russian. So don’t get hung up on those Angry Birds. By the way, a couple of words about the words about these Angry Birds themselves. Personally, I don’t really like them. These Angry Birds are already everywhere all over Finland, parks, clothes, dishes, shops, toys, even Finnish politicians perform with the Angry Birds label. And the game itself is incredibly simple, a couple of programmers can write one in a day. Nothing high-tech, which is usually typical for Finland. Not only can you play the game with one finger and it makes no sense, but there is nothing behind the game itself, I mean that Angry Birds is not connected with the Finnish past, nor with culture, nor with children’s book or cartoon characters, such as Mummy Trolls. Angry Birds just appeared out of nowhere and they just simply promoted them to us or, so to speak, sold them. I don’t like it when they screw up. The Finns recently sold their Nokia. Nokia really can and should be proud of. Not only is Nokia’s products themselves the most high-tech, but not two people have worked on it, but almost all Finns have been working together for more than 30 years. But in the Finnish news and on TV they carried out such an advertising campaign that Nokia should be sold, it is unprofitable, they say. The Finns hung their ears and sold them. Now, personally, I have such a feeling that instead of Nokia, the Finns have Angry Birds.
