Santa Cruz de Tenerife total capital from Las Palmas, Canary Islands, in Spain. The city is located on the island of Tenerife and is generally referred to simply as Santa Cruz, although its full name is Santa Cruz de Santiago de Tenerife. The city is located in the northeastern part of the island, about 210 km from the northwestern coast of Africa, in the Atlantic Ocean. The city is the home of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the administration of the President of the Canary Islands (divided into a four-year cycle with Las Palmas), one half of the ministries and councils of the Government of the Canary Islands (the other half is in Gran Canaria), the Provincial Court of Tenerife and two courts in the Supreme Court of the Canaries islands. nine0004

The city’s port is of great importance and is the center of communications between Europe, Africa and South America. The city is the hub for domestic and inter-island communications in the Canary Islands. Ferry services from the port go to the Spanish mainland, the rest to the Canary Islands and beyond.

Guide to Arrecife

The city of Arrecife is located on the island of Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands. The city has a port located on the east coast of the island. Arrecife is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city full of history and culture. The name comes from the Spanish reef and refers to the volcanic rock formations that are in the sea and protect from the picturesque harbor. Arrecife began life as a small fishing village in the 15th century until it grew to become the capital of the island in 1852. Today, it is known as a shopper’s paradise! With streets lined with boutiques, high-end retail outlets selling designer labels and great deals plentiful, many people visit Arrecife for the endless shopping opportunities. Arrecife also has its own beach, Playa del Reducto, with golden sand and warm, calm waters. 2023 UCI Cyclocross World Championships

Get ready, ’cross fans! It’s time. The 74th edition of the UCI Cyclocross World Championships will take place from February 4 and 5 at the legendary Hoogerheide Cyclocross course in the Netherlands.

Hoogerheide is a fast, flat and technical course with an exceptional history. It’s been the traditional finish for the UCI Cyclocross World Cup since it was founded as a farewell for Adri van der Poel, father of one of the overall race favorites on the men’s side, Mathieu van der Poel, when he retired from racing (the elder van der Poel now designs the courses at Hoogerheide, including the World Champs course for this weekend. No pressure, MVDP!).

There won’t be any repeat champions this season with 2022 world champions Tom Pidcock and Marianne Vos pulling out of the event.

Here’s all the information you’ll need to watch this weekend

  • What: The 2023 UCI Cyclocross World Championships
  • When: Saturday, February, 4 and Sunday, February 5
  • Where: Hoogerheide, Netherlands
  • How to Watch: The weekend races will be livestreamed on FloBikes with a subscription. A subscription costs $150 for a year. Those in the U.S. should plan to get up early to watch the action live, but replays will also be available on FloBikes.
  • Race Times – Saturday, February 4
    • 5:00 a.m. – Junior Women
    • 7:00 a.m. – U23 Men
    • 9:00 a.m. – Elite Women
  • Race Times – Sunday, February 5
    • 5:00 a.m. – Junior Men
    • 7:00 a.m. – U23 Women
    • 9:00 a.m. – Elite Men

The next generation of ’cross rivalries unfold

Sports fans love a good rivalry, and pro cycling fans are no exception. Rivalries are one of the foundational things that spurs our growth from someone who just “watches a sport” to a dedicated fan. Epic rivalries are the pro cycling gateway drug. The biggest storyline of CX Worlds this year in the elite races is the culmination of two epic rivalries we’ve watched unfold all winter long.

Fem Van Empel (Jumbo Visma) and Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceunick) in action during the women’s elite race at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Benidorm, Spain on Sunday 22 January 2023.

JASPER JACOBS//Getty Images

Fem vs. Puck clash again for the women’s title!

The entire women’s UCI Cyclocross World Cup was essentially a battle between the two 20-year-old phenoms, Fem Van Empel (Jumbo Visma) and Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceunick), with Van Empel winning first place with just five more overall points than Pieterse.

Normally these riders would be racing in the U23 category in the World Championships, but they’re just…too good. Therefore they’re been going head-to-head in the Elite category, where no one else has been able to touch either of these riders. They’ll be racing in the Elite category once again during the World Championships as the two undisputed favorites for the rainbow jersey win.

Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Decekunick) sprint for the finish of the men’s elite race at the Cyclocross World Cup cyclocross event in Benidorm, Spain, Sunday 22 January 2023.

JASPER JACOBS//Getty Images

Mathieu van der Poel vs. Wout van Aert for all the marbles!

It has also been hard to miss the excitement around the showdown during this year’s Cyclocross season between Peterse’s and Van Empel’s teammates, the two super-talents on the men’s side, Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceunick) and Wout Van Aert (Jumbo Visma). These riders were the two everyone was talking about during the World Cup (as they generally have been for the last several years) with van der Poel leading Van Aert by seventy-eight points by the end of the series.

The rivalry between these two goes back to each rider’s junior racing days, or maybe even further back, given the gene pool of these two riders. It takes on almost mythic proportions because not only are these so well matched in talent, there’s also a matter of national pride on the line. Van der Poel hails from the Netherlands, and Van Aert is from Belgium, and the fervor with which both of these countries obsess over cyclocross is similar to America’s love of football.

There’s also a suitable winter destination for everyone. Those who want to escape the cold weather can head to warm, sunny destinations. Conversely, those who want to take full advantage of the season can visit some amazing winter wonderlands and ski destinations.

No matter what kind of trip suits you, here are some of the best winter travel destinations in 2023.

Best Warm Winter Travel Destinations In 2023

Looking for some winter sun? If you’re tired of chilly weather, you can jet off to one of the best warm winter travel destinations in 2023. These places are perfect for those who want to feel like they’re on an affordable summer holiday in the middle of winter.

1. The Algarve, Portugal

If you’re looking for a warm Europe winter travel destination, look no further than the Algarve region of Portugal. Located along Portugal’s south coast, this area is lined with beautiful beach towns full of affordable hotels and fun activities.

Albufeira is one of the most popular towns in the Algarve. Here, you’ll find some beautiful cliff-lined beaches. You can also enjoy wine tours, whale watching, or kayaking. Alternatively, relax in an all-inclusive hotel and enjoy visiting the local markets and historical sites.

Lagos is another perfect winter destination in the Algarve. Many people come here to surf, swim, or enjoy the party scene. However, it’s also great for scenic beach relaxation. Other top spots include Faro, Tavira, and Sagres. With clear, sunny skies every day, you can’t go wrong.

2. Bangkok, Thailand

While Thailand is known for scorching temperatures, the period between November to February is the cool season in this Southeast Asian country. This makes it a perfect time to visit the capital city of Bangkok. You’ll experience summer-like weather every day along with plenty of cool cultural activities.

You can visit breathtaking Buddhist temples such as Wat Pho and Wat Saket. You can also visit some of the greatest markets Asia has to offer, including the huge Chatuchak Weekend Market and Asiatique Night Market. You can also enjoy the nightlife or visit massive shopping malls such as ICONSIAM.

If you want to visit the beach, Pattaya is just a couple of hours away. You can also head on a quick, cheap flight to one of the islands, such as Phuket, Ko Pha-ngan, or Koh Samui. However, keep in mind that some of the islands are particularly rainy in January.

3. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta is another perfect winter destination if you’re looking for summer temperatures. You can enjoy beach weather every single day with barely any rain. Of course, you can also enjoy world-class nightlife and all kinds of incredible Mexican food.

It’s known as one of the safer destinations in Mexico. What’s more, while it’s perfectly tourist-friendly, it’s not as Americanized as places like Cancun or Cabo. This makes it welcoming and affordable while still offering tourists a chance to delve into Mexican culture.

You can spend plenty of time relaxing on the beautiful beaches. You can also check out the Malecón Boardwalk – full of fun places to shop, drink, eat, and enjoy the views. Alternatively, head out to scenic viewpoints or take a day trip to the nearby islands.

Best Cold Winter Destinations In 2023

Not everyone wants to spend their winter in warm, sunny spots. On the contrary, some travelers prefer to venture to the best winter wonderlands in the world. If you enjoy ice skating, skiing, and winter activities, these are some of the best cold winter destinations in 2023.

1. Montreal, Canada

If you’re looking for a vibrant city that’s even more magical in the winter, visit Montreal. The capital of Quebec is known for its sensational nightlife, world-class food scene, and unique culture. Winter is one of the best times to visit as the area is full of fun winter activities and experiences.

Montreal is known for its winter festivals, such as the Luminotherapy festival which runs from January to March. Visit the Quartier des Spectacles to see amazing winter light displays and shows. You can also check out the Igloofest on the weekends in the Old Port for cool outdoor concerts.

Other fun winter events include the Laval En Blanc, Montreal en Lumiere, and Nuit Blanche. Of course, you can also go ice skating in various public spaces or take in the beautiful views from the Mont Royale. You’re never short of things to do in the winter in Montreal.

2. Interlaken, Switzerland

Looking for a breathtakingly scenic winter destination? Interlaken is known for its incredible mountains, beautiful lakes, and world-class ski resorts. If you’re looking for an awesome winter holiday in Europe, this is one of the best destinations to consider.

There are various places to partake in winter sports throughout Interlaken. You can stay in a swanky hotel or even a warm winter chalet if you want to ski, snowboard, and sled. Other activities are also available, such as paragliding and kayaking.

If you’re not looking for an extreme holiday, you can simply enjoy the relaxed vibes and local walking trails. Interlaken is also known for its awesome winter markets – you’re sure to find some unique crafts and souvenirs here.

3. Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn in December to February looks like something out of a winter fairytale. The old town is always an interesting place to visit due to its unique architecture and quaint vibes. However, it makes much more of an impact when it’s covered in snow and lined with exciting winter markets.

The capital of Estonia is easily one of the best winter travel destinations in 2023. You can enjoy the awesome local food scene, go ice skating, and even head outside the city for scenic hiking trails. You should also try a traditional Estonian sauna while you’re here – winter is the perfect time to do so.

Compared to various other winter destinations in Europe, Tallinn is surprisingly budget-friendly. You can stay in the city center without spending too much and there’s also plenty of affordable food. You can even take a day trip to Helsinki, Finland via ferry.

Conclusion

Looking for an exciting winter trip? These are some of the best winter travel destinations in 2023. Of course, you might also want to consider alternatives such as Chamonix, Prague, Lima, Bali, or Split.

Wherever you choose to go, make sure you grab the right gear for your travels. For instance, you might want to grab a secure travel daypack for your daily journeys or a handy travel pouch. From high-quality travel bags to top travel accessories, you can find everything you need at ALPAKA.

Searching for the best winter sun in Europe? If you live quite a way up in the northern hemisphere, it is probable that you are used to the cold, the wet, the grey and – if you are lucky – some snow. There are some people that absolutely love winter and cannot wait for that first snowfall. Then again, there are those who hate the season and spend months waiting for the sun to melt the snow and the warm weather to start. But if you do not think you can wait that long to enjoy some sunshine, there are plenty of options in Europe where you can soak up some vitamin D over the winter. So if you are considering a trip somewhere warm this winter, you will want to take a look at this list of the best winter sun destinations in Europe.

Portugal

The Algarve

If you are looking for a winter sun destination, which is also easy on the wallet, the Algarve is the place for you. While it may not get the highest temperatures of the winter sun destinations, the weather is still significantly better than in most parts of Europe and there are still enough T-shirt days to make a winter trip here worthwhile.

Faro is the gateway to the Algarve, which has a quaint old center with cobbled streets and its charming cathedral, leading down to the marina filled with luxury yachts. However, there are plenty of other beautiful places to visit in the Algarve in winter. Carvoeiro is perfect for those who want a more peaceful Algarve experience and is famous for its network of caves, which can be explored even in winter.

Albufeira is usually extremely lively but calms down over the winter months, and this is a great time to wander its charming streets and enjoy the delicious food on offer in the restaurants.

A cool activity to do here is taking a tuk-tuk ride to the nearby beaches. Horse riding and cycling are also popular activities, which are completely doable during the winter in the Algarve. Plus, it is one of the cheaper destinations, making it even more desirable as a winter sun destination.

The Azores

A group of nine volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores may not get as many visitors as the nearby Canary Islands and Madeira, but that just makes them all the more attractive as a destination. The Azores have been described as a ‘warm Iceland’ as they boast just as much stunning natural scenery and geothermal activity as the Land of Fire and Ice, but with an average daily temperature between 16°C and 18°C.

Here you can find geysers, hot springs, waterfalls, and lakes, just as you can in Iceland, the difference being that in the Azores they are all surrounded by lush green sub-tropical vegetation. The islands are also great for whale and dolphin watching. But the best thing about the Azores is that there is no such thing as mass tourism, so you get to enjoy these wonderful islands without the tourist hordes.

One of the disadvantages of visiting the
Azores in winter is that they receive quite a few days of rain every month.
However, this should not put you off a winter break there. Despite the rain, it
does not get that cold and even if it did, you could always take advantage of the
wonderful hot springs to keep you warm.

Spain

Tenerife

Tenerife – and the Canary Islands in general – has a reputation for being one of those destinations that are just for beach bumming and drinking cocktails. However, it is also a great place to take part in sports activities, which makes it the perfect place to visit during the winter.

The island is home to Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and the fourth highest volcano in the world, which offers fantastic opportunities for hiking, paragliding, and mountain biking, and with an average daily temperature of 17°C, you will not get too hot and sweaty doing so. Due to such little air pollution in the area, Mount Teide is also a great place to go stargazing.

Elsewhere on the island, water sports are extremely popular no matter what the season, such as scuba diving and snorkeling, and winter is actually the best month for surfing. For animal lovers, because of the huge population of pilot whales, which live in the waters surrounding Tenerife, whale watching is another activity which is possible all year round.

Another favorite: Top things to do in Costa del Sol, Spain

Seville

While most people only consider mainland Spain for their summer holidays, the beautiful city of Seville has been receiving many more winter visitors in recent years. With temperatures which can go as high as 18°C, it is certainly one of the mildest places to visit in Europe during this time.

There are obviously many great reasons to head to Seville. It is a city of outstanding architectural beauty, with its impressive cathedral, minaret bell tower La Giralda, and exquisite palace the Real Alcazar. These attractions are incredibly popular, but you will notice that the queues to enter are considerably shorter during the winter months.

If you happen to be traveling to Seville during the festive period, there is a lovely Christmas market which takes place from December to January, where you can pick up lots of handicrafts while enjoying Christmas carols being sung in the central squares and the smell of roasted chestnuts.

New Year is traditionally a time when locals spend time with their families, but plenty of restaurants offer special menus for visitors and those who do not fancy cooking. Then on January 6th, the day when the Spanish hand out presents to their friends and family, there is a massive parade where the Three Wise Men (Los Tres Reyes Magos) go through the streets throwing toys and sweets to those who have come to see the spectacle.

Another Favorite: Where to go for Christmas in Europe

Greece

Athens

If you have always wanted to head to Athens to see all the marvelous historical sites the city has to offer, winter is the best time to go. With temperatures averaging around 15°C during the day, the climate is mild enough to make sightseeing enjoyable rather than sticky and uncomfortable.

These lower temperatures give you the opportunity to hike Mount Lycabettus, explore the Acropolis, and stroll around the quaint districts of Plaka and Monastiraki, all without breaking a sweat and dealing with hordes of tourists. You will also find that accommodation prices drop by about 50% and there are far more rooms available to choose from, making Athens a top pick for a winter sun getaway.

Despite the sunshine Athens gets in the winter months, it is also an idea to note that December can be quite rainy and you will definitely need a jacket when the sun goes down. However, a few rainy days should not put you off visiting.

Athens has plenty to do if the weather does not seem to want to go your way. There are lots of interesting museums, such as the Acropolis Museum, the National Archaeological Museum, and the National Gallery of Art, or you could just sit inside one of the many cafes and enjoy the amazing coffee they have.

Crete

Being much lower down from the mainland, Crete hangs onto its balmy weather for much longer than other parts of Greece, with temperatures averaging around 16°C. While Crete might be a tourist hotspot during the summer months, there are lots of advantages to visiting during the winter.

For those interested in getting active, winter is the time when the water has returned to the rivers and gorges, making it the perfect time to go canyoning. The conditions for surfing and kitesurfing are also excellent at this time of year; in Falassarna, the waves can reach up to three meters.

Crete is also known for its abundance of hiking trails and the more temperate weather means you will not be sweating buckets if you decide to head out on them. If history is more your thing, you will be happy not to have to queue to get into all the historical and archaeological sites which are dotted around the island.

Christmas is a delightful time to visit Crete as many local customs are held throughout the island. Some of these are quite old, such as the Cave of St. John in Marathokefala showing a nativity using real animals and a Christmas village popping up in the Omalos Plateau, but some of them are fairly modern additions, such as the diving Santa in Crete Aquarium.

Malta

Valletta

Many flocks to Malta to enjoy its beautiful beaches, warm, clear sea, and abundance of diving opportunities, but there is so much more to this small island in the Mediterranean Sea. In Valletta the weather rarely drops below 15°C in winter, meaning that walking around its beautiful streets will feel pleasantly comfortable.

In many ways, visiting Valletta in winter is preferable to heading out there in the summer. For starters, accommodation prices are much cheaper than at the height of the peak season, plus there will be more rooms and apartments to choose from. Malta is incredibly popular in the summer months, and as a result of this, accommodation can get booked up pretty quickly.

You will also find that you may have some of the attractions pretty much to yourself, it is a great time to go climbing, and it is also when the Christmas lights go up in the city. Valletta keeps its Christmas lights up longer than most cities, sometimes until at least February, so whenever you travel there in winter, you have a good chance of spotting them.

Gozo

Most travelers head to the main island for their Malta holiday, but there are actually three islands which make up the Maltese archipelago and Gozo is certainly starting to get its fair share of visitors; once Gozo constituted just a day trip from Malta, but now more and more people are choosing to lengthen their stay on the smaller island.

Getting the same temperatures as Malta, there is certainly much here to keep you occupied, such as the stunning Cittadella and Ta’ Pinu Church. Gozo is also where you will find Ggantija Temples, which are older than the Pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge.

Winter is the perfect time to enjoy Gozo’s countryside, either on foot or by quad bike. It is also a great time to go diving, and you may even find that you are the only one to be taking a particular dive on a particular day!

Cyprus

Larnaca

If you want guaranteed sunny weather, Cyprus is the best place to take your winter sun holiday; temperatures here hover between 18°C and 20°C, so you will hardly believe that it is winter at all. If you want to spend your vacation by the sea, Larnaca is a great choice.

This city has some of the finest beaches on the whole island, plus its southern location means that the sea is pretty warm, even in the winter months, so it is great for swimming.

Diving is also popular, with many heading here to see the wreck of the Zenobia, a ro-ro ferry which sunk off the coast in 1980. As the oldest city in Cyprus, there are a number of historical sights worth checking out, and if you do feel that you need to get out of the city for the day, there are good public transport connections with Nicosia and Limassol.

While on some parts of the island
accommodation and restaurants close due to lack of tourists, this should not be
a problem in Larnaca and you will see people milling about, even if it is not
the usual huge crowds which you can find in summer.

Italy

Sicily

Sicily is a top choice for sun-worshippers and there is no need to miss out on this just because you are traveling in winter. While inland you may see temperatures drop to around 10°C, on the coast, it usually averages between 14°C and 16°C. However, Sicily gives you the opportunity to take advantage of both of these temperatures.

If you want to combine your bit of winter sun with a holiday on the slopes, this is completely possible on this Italian island. Mount Etna, Sicily’s largest active volcano, offers skiing at two different resorts, Linguaglossa and Rifugio Sapienza. As you make your way down the slopes, you can see the sparkling Ionian Sea in one direction and the smoking Etna in the other.

Winter is also a festival time in Sicily, with Christmas, New Year, the Feast of St. Lucia and a festival celebrating the Italian dramatist Luigi Pirandello taking place in December, and the Almond Blossom Festival and the Festa di Sant Agata – the patron saint of the city Catania – occurring in February. If you like shopping, visiting Sicily in time for the New Year sales will not disappoint.

Gibraltar

It might seem a bit odd that somewhere in the UK has been included in a list of best winter sun destinations in Europe – after all, the UK is not known for fantastic weather during the summer, never mind the winter. But that is because this particular part of the UK is actually just off the coast of Spain. The island of Gibraltar has an average winter temperature of 17°C and very rarely drops below 14°C, so you can expect a balmy vacation there.

Gibraltar is suitable for those who love being outdoors as there are not many attractions indoors. It is also a great place for those who love history, in particular, military history.

You can visit the World War II tunnels, where the Allied invasion of North Africa was planned, as well as the Great Siege Tunnels. A hike up ‘The Rock’, a huge limestone rock face peaking at 426 meters high, will give you splendid views, and you should not forget to visit Europe’s only free, wild colony of monkeys, the Barbary macaques.

A great thing about Gibraltar is its close proximity to other fantastic destinations, meaning you can combine a trip to the island with some other cities which also have fabulous winter weather. Malaga – Costa del Sol area, Seville and even Morocco are all within easy reach, so a visit here can be a great opportunity to take a multi-destination trip.

Personally I did a trip last year around these areas for Christmas and New Year. I visited multiple places in Spain on a road trip starting a few days before Christmas eve and then flew to Morocco on New Years Day. New country, new year. It was a blast!

Heading to these destinations during the winter has massive advantages aside from the obvious great weather. These are also the months which tend to receive fewer visitors, accommodation is generally cheaper, and you get to see these places in all their glory. So if you have been dying to get some winter sun in Europe but were not sure where to go, now you can get those flights booked!

What Is Paragliding?

The unforgettable sensation of free flight.

Paragliding is the closest humans can get to experience flying like a bird. Paragliding is not to be confused with parasailing or skydiving. A paraglider is a state-of-the-art flying wing which soars through the air using wind currents and thermals to maintain or even gain height.

The pilot (and passenger) sit comfortably in a specially designed harness that is also equipped with a reserve parachute. The pilot has full control of the direction and speed of the glider. Paragliding is a weather dependant sport. All takeoff, landing locations and flight times depend on the current weather conditions.

Paragliding in Tenerife is one of the most aspirational locations for paragliding due to it’s dramatic and breathtaking scenery. Adrenaline loving pilots can quench their thirst for adventure as they soar between mountains and across deep canons, making their way to dreamy, postcard-perfect coastlines.

WHAT DOES IT COST

A tandem flight costs from 90€ for an approximate 20 minute flight depending on weather conditions. All flights include: free hotel pick up and drop off, bottled water, full insurance and all necessary equipment. We also take group bookings upon request.

WHO CAN DO IT?

Almost everyone from 4 to 94 years old can experience paragliding in Tenerife. No experience is necessary. As long as you weigh under 100kg (15.5 stone) and can jog just a few steps on take off and landing, you’re fit to fly! Those under 16 years old will require parental consent.

HOW TO BOOK

Either here online via any of the BOOK NOW buttons, by WhatsApp or calling us 0034 645470000. E-mail works fine too. Paragliding is weather dependent, try not to book too close to your departure date to allow for date changes due to weather conditions.

WHAT TO BRING

A spirit for adventure! Apart from that you’ll need a sturdy pair of shoes (no sandals) and sunscreen. We have shoes available for loan if necessary and jackets are available to keep you warm on cooler days as we take off from 800 meters with extra height gained depending on weather conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

To fly like a bird! No engines, no noise. No jumping off cliffs, no free falling. As the wing comes up gracefully above your head, you and your pilot will magically lift off the ground in a secure, comfortable harness to safely soar and glide to a gentle landing. Paragliding in Tenerife is truly one of the most magical locations in Europe to take to the skies.

WHEN AND WHERE

We are based in the Costa Adeje area in the southern part of Tenerife where we can fly over 340 days per year. We fly every day (weather permitting) all year round meeting at 10am, 12am, 2pm and 4pm (also at 6pm during summer months). Other times apply for our “El Teide” flights.

Book Your Paragliding Flight Now

On the rare occasion of your flight being cancelled to bad weather conditions, we will reschedule your flight at no extra charge or offer a full refund if we fail to find a time that suits you.

Trip advisor reviews

  •   From start to finish the entire activity was amazing. The guys were so friendly and explained everything. Our paragliding nearly got canceled because of

The wind so you can tell… read more how cautious they are when it comes to safety first. Ten out of ten would recommend!

Well, i’m usually not into writing bad reviews, but when things add up a bit too much, I guess something has to be said.

The first thing I should… read more say is, if you aren’t able to be polite, and keep your stress to yourself, than maybe you shouldn’t work with tourists. The major problem was the “boss”, just not being polite at all, being very rude on the phone, very stressed the whole way, and putting up fake smiles when he starts filming the “joyful experience”.

We were 4 clients on the trip, including 2 young chinese guys. In the trip up the mountain, they were just blatently talking about those boys and making fun of them. Maybe thinking those boys didn’t speak english.

I got lucky and flew with a nice german guy, but wasn’t the case with my friend who got to be with “the boss”.

Then another akward thing is the filming part, which is kind of forced onto you. They dont ask you if you mind being filmed and make you hold the camera, and actually ask you to smile and put thumbs up when pictures are being taken. So while the flight is about 5-10 min long, you have to hold a selfy stick (whether you want it or not), which kind of ruins your own experience of being up there

Besides it all, the experience was actually good, I just think “the boss” had a bad day or something, and forgot he was dealing with humans and not walking wallets, or maybe has been doing this for too long and forgot how to transmit his own passion.

Hope your experience will be a better one.
