The chapter in which I study the Jungle Book.
The next item on my program was Jungle Park. Cool place, I tell you! If you like looking at wild animals and exotic plants, then this is the place for you. But the coolest thing is the so-called jungle trail! This trail is a chain of hanging mesh paths, labyrinths, swinging boards and logs, as well as vertical stairs. This trail runs through the entire park. That is, you can walk civilly along the asphalt paths, or you can crawl on your knees along the mesh pipes over the heads of those who walk civilly. Well, I think no one doubts which path I chose?
Of course, there was no one to photograph me in the most spectacular places, but I hope these few shots can give at least a small idea of my feat.
Here they are, the real jungle! Well, hugs with their inhabitants. “We are of the same blood – you and me!”
After walking along the jungle trail and exploring all the hiking trails, I went to watch the bird show with a sense of accomplishment. There are two kinds of shows in the park: eagle show and exotic bird show.
Birds made sharp turns in the sky. And they literally ran under the feet of the audience.
The most interesting thing is when the spectators were allowed to feed the birds from their hands. But I’m out of luck! They didn’t reach me. Girls were sitting next to me, who shied away from the approaching birds so much that the breadwinners did not even turn in our direction.
The eight hundred meters long jungle trail is not the only extreme entertainment in the Jungle Park. Beneath it is a winding road that mimics a bobsleigh track. Forgive me, dear reader, I didn’t ride it because I didn’t want to stand in line, but from the outside it looked pretty interesting.
And of course, in this park you can see a variety of animals. These are white lions, ibises, meerkats, marabou, pythons, alligators … Yes, you can’t list them all. I just caught the process of feeding the alligators. Before that, they rather sluggishly hung in the water or basked in the sun. And then all of a sudden they got so excited!
You can spend the whole day in Jungle Park and not get bored. Because even just walking along winding paths among tropical vegetation is very, very pleasant.
Now about the technical side of things. There are free buses to Jungle Park every hour. The schedule is in the brochure. You can buy a ticket either on the spot or in one of the travel companies. If you buy a ticket at the park ticket office, it will cost 20 euros, but you will still be given a coupon for which you can get a discount when buying tickets to Aqualand, but not more than 4 tickets for 2 euros each. If you do not plan to go to Aqualand, then it makes sense to look at the cost of tickets in travel agencies. Later, when I went, I saw the cost of tickets and 18 euros each (that is, no extra charge and no coupon).
The best way to get to Jungle Park is by taking the first bus. Because free buses are good on the one hand, because you don’t have to pay for them. But they also have a minus – the next one may not come on schedule and instead of an hour there may be a gap of two hours between them. As, in fact, it happened with me.
The fact is that if there was a schedule of free buses on the booklet of the Jungle Park, then I did not notice this on the booklet of Loro Park. Nevertheless, according to eyewitnesses, I knew that there were such buses! Moreover, I even saw buses with the inscription “Loro Park” on the side. But, on the other hand, where have I not seen the inscription “Loro Park”! Even in the trash. But dustbins won’t take you to Loro Parque, right?
And so, looking at the next booklet, which is scattered all over the place, I found what I was looking for! On the booklet of the Tenerife Real company, which sells pearl jewelry, I saw a schedule of free buses that take people to different parts of the island. There were five such points. I don’t remember all five, but in particular, Santa Cruz, Puerto de la Cruz and the Loro Park I needed appeared there! As it turned out later, they also have their own store there.
But the schedule was somehow strange! There were five buses, and the departure time from our hotel was one – ten hours. Then I came up with the most ingenious trick. At nine o’clock in the morning, she took up an observation position near the pool, from where the bus stop was clearly visible.
It was Friday. Since I decided to go to Loro Park for the whole day, and it is quite far away, I decided to go after the procedures in the SPA center were over. My anticipation has been successful! I recorded the arrival time of a mass of free buses to various entertainment venues, including some kind of Exotic Park (I don’t know what it is, I didn’t come across a booklet). And so, about fifteen minutes past eleven, the Tenerife Real bus appeared, on which there was a small sign “Loro Park” and number 5 (by the way, this is how the route was indicated in the booklet).

Allergy to canary feathers
More about the doctor
This study is temporarily not performed by our laboratory
Canary feather is a type of inhaled allergen that enters the human body through airborne droplets. Immunologists say that the negative factor that causes allergy symptoms is not itself bird feather , and microparticles of the epithelium, waste products and epidermis falling on the feather, dust particles.
Air currents carry pathogenic microparticles over long distances. Thus, conditions are created for the occurrence of allergies, regardless of the location of the bird. Particularly dangerous are places of large concentrations of people: hospitals, schools, shopping and entertainment centers.
Symptoms of allergy to canary feathers :
obsessive dry cough;
copious discharge of mucus from the nose;
painful susceptibility of the eyes to daylight;
redness and irritation of the skin;
disorder of the function of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract;
difficult breathing;
hypoxia;
low blood pressure;
anaphylactic shock;
swelling of the face and limbs;
dizziness;
dysfunction of the cardiovascular system.
Cross-reaction to canary feather is common in medical practice. As a result, alarming symptoms can be caused by the eggs of any bird.
The human body reacts to the invasion of foreign microorganisms by increasing the production of class E immunoglobulin. When it enters the body again, foreign cells attach to the already produced antibodies. As a result, active substances are produced with damage to organs and tissues.
Synonyms:
Class E immunoglobulins, E antibodies, IgE.
Research method: immunological blood test is carried out by venipuncture. Blood serum is placed in a container containing a special gel. As a result of a chemical reaction, it is possible to identify the patient’s predisposition to an allergy to canary feathers.
Interpretation:
Depending on the equipment used by the laboratory, the interpretation of the analyzes may differ slightly.
< 0.34 no reaction to canary feather;
3.5 – 0.69 – low level of reaction, without clinical manifestations;
0.70 – 3.50 – minimal clinical manifestations;
3.51 – 17.50 – severe reaction with pronounced symptoms;
17.51 - 100 – acute sensitivity to canary feathers.
Preparation for analysis:
Immunological blood test is performed on an empty stomach.
Where is hot in January? Top New Year sun holiday destinations
Fancy spending January in St Lucia? (Picture: Getty Images)
With travel opening up once again around the world, winter sun getaways might be back on for the start of 2022.
Considering the 2020 and 2021 we’ve all had, it makes perfect sense to seek out some warm weather and some sunny beaches. as the temperature drops in the UK.
Or you might be looking for something a bit more high-energy, be it a bustling capital city or a far-flung country – with temperatures averaging somewhere between 1°C and 7°C in the UK in January, it’s a good time to seek out some hotter climes.
And if you’re also looking to shake those post-Christmas blues, the start of the New Year is a great time to get away.
So, where in the world should you jet off to in January 2022?
Of course nothing in the travel world is certain – things remain unpredictable and could change at any time – but assuming we can all get away from some winter sun, consider some of these destinations…
Where is hot in January?
Antigua and Barbuda
Barbuda is famous for its pink sandy beaches (Picture: Getty Images)
While January might be the coldest month of the year in Antigua, the average temperature still clocks it at around 26°C – making it a good deal warmer than these shores.
If you do decide to venture there, you’ll find more than your fair share of great beaches – including the famous Pink Sand beach in Barbuda, where the sand really is a rosy hue due to the amount of coral reefs nearby.
You’ll also find the sea is an average temperature of 27°C at that time of year – which makes it perfect for swimming.
Cape Town (South Africa)
You could jet off to South Africa (Picture: Getty Images)
While January might be freezing in the UK, in South Africa it’s summer – making it an ideal time to visit the vibrant city of Cape Town.
The city has more than its fair share of sights – you can chill out on Boulders Beach and visit its penguin colony as well as taking a trip to the world-famous Table Mountain – the cable car service will allow you to experience breathaking views of the city from its 3,500 foot high summit.
At the time of writing, there was still a curfew in place from midnight until 4am, meaning that most non-essential businesses currently close by 11pm – but the city remains a great option for those looking for a winter getaway.
St Lucia
St Lucia is in the shadow of two volcanic plugs (Picture: Getty Images)
The Caribbean island of St Lucia enjoys great weather all round, but with average temperatures over 80 degrees fahrenheit in January, it’s the perfect time to visit.
As well as the beaches – among them Anse Chastenet Beach, known for its snorkelling – you can explore the Pitons, the two volcanic mountains which overlook the island, either on foot or by boat, and swim in the surrounding waterfalls.
And don’t forget to stop by Soufriere, the island’s original capital, with its botanic gardens and souvenir shopping in the Old Town.
Abu Dhabi (UAE)

As well as its beaches, you can check out its many imposing and iconic attractions – including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Emirates Palace – or take yourself bargain hunting at one of the city’s many shopping malls.
Cape Verde
Santa Maria Beach is a prime spot for diving (Picture: Getty Images)
Temperature: 24-25°C Sunshine hours: Eight hours Flight time: Six hours
Another place whose coldest month is in January but still offers temperatures in the mid-70s, the West African nation of Cape Verde is a great choice for those looking for a beach break, with the island of Sal – and its Santa Maria Beach – offering plenty of opportunities for snorkelling and diving.
Kitesurfing is another activity to try – with the winds on the coastlines of Sal and Boa Vista making the conditions perfect for it.
The town of Santa Maria on the island of Sal is also a picturesque spot to visit if you want a break from the beach, offering pretty pastel coloured buildings and some of the archipelago’s best bars and restaurants.
Miami (Florida)
Temperature: 25 °C Sunshine hours: 10 hours Flight time: Nine hours
The US is reopening its borders to fully-vaccinated UK travellers from November – meaning that Miami in Florida, which enjoys hot and sunny weather pretty much all year round – could be an option for a winter getaway.
It’s a great choice for those who want to combine a sunseeking break with a dash of big city life – you can combine chilling on Miami Beach with checking out the city’s museums and attractions.
And don’t forget to visit the Art Deco district of South Beach, with its quirky, fashionable bars and restaurants.
Phuket (Thailand)
Phuket has no shortage of blue seas and white sand (Picture: Getty Images)
From the beginning of November the country will once again be open to fully vaccinated tourists from the UK, making it another great winter sun option.Thailand is a go-to destination for hot weather when it’s cold here, but if it’s beaches you’re after then you’ve got over 30 on Phuket to choose from.
As well as topping up your tan and indulging in a spot of snorkelling, the island also has plenty of other sights to keep you busy – visit the capital, Phuket Town, with its brightly-coloured buildings or take a trip to ‘James Bond Island’ – aka Koh Tapu, where The Man With The Golden Gun was filmed.
And when the sun goes down, don’t forget to pay a visit to one of the night markets, or check out Bangla Road, which is famous for its restaurants and bars.
Goa (India)
Go directly to Goa (Picture: Getty Images)
Temperature: 32 °C Sunshine hours: Nine hours Flight time: Nine hours, 30 minutes
India’s pretty hot all round in January, but Goa offers a great mix of laid-back beaches and tourist hotspots. As well as sunbathing and indulging in everything from water skiing to scuba diving, you can also visit historical temples and sites including the Basilica of Bom Jesus, housing the mummy of 16th Century Missionary St Francis Xavier.
And don’t forget to check out one of the local dolphin safaris – head out into the Arabian sea on one of the tours early in the morning for a chance of seeing our aquatic friends up close.
Singapore
Sentosa Beach is an idyllic getaway off Singapore’s main island (Picture: Getty Images)
Temperature: 26 °C Sunshine hours: Six hours Flight time: 13 hours, 25 minutes
The Far East has no shortage of balmy temperatures at the start of the year – and Singapore is another great place to visit, with the country reopening for fully vaccinated travellers from the UK as of mid-October.
As well as the sights on the mainland – including the Marina Bay sands and the Botanic Gardens – take a trip out to Sentosa, an island resort with a 2km long sheltered beach as well as the Universal Studios Singapore theme park.
And back on the mainland, don’t forget to stop for a Singapore Sling at the place where it was created, the world-famous Raffles Hotel.
For cooler temperatures, check out Europe
Canary Islands may still get you some sunshine in January – but it might not be beach weather (Picture: Getty Images)
While Europe may not be the warmest place to jet away to in January, there are still some parts of the continent that will get you warmer temperatures than the UK if you fancy a city break. Such as:
Portugal – average temperature 15°C
Malta – average temperature 16°C
Cyprus – average temperature 17°C
Canary Islands – average temperature 20°C
Keep in mind
While a January 2022 break seems far enough away to ensure Covid travel measures are a thing of the past – that might not be the case.
All the destinations on this list are visitable at the time of writing, but you should keep in mind that if a country’s travel rules change while you’re already there, you could be subject to quarantine.
It’s wise to keep a close eye on the country’s individual entry requirements – which will be subject to change. Some countries may only require a negative test while others may require travellers to be fully vaccinated, with unvaccinated passengers having to quarantine on arrival.
Before you book, it’s advisable to check the Foreign Office Travel Advice to ensure the place you plan to visit is open to UK tourists, and what the conditions of entry might be.
You should also ensure you have top-tier travel insurance in place that will cover you in the event you test positive while you are abroad and may need to extend your stay or seek medical treatment.

Where is it warm in January? – Your Rest
Christmas has passed, it is getting colder every day, and the festive feelings that were at the beginning of winter are also forgotten. I want to escape into the summer from the January cold and slush!
January certainly pleases with its long evenings under a blanket with a cup of your favorite cocoa, but this does not negate cold trips to work and to the store! So it’s no surprise that many wave goodbye to winter and head overseas for sunshine almost as soon as they put the Christmas tree back in the attic.
January can also be a beach holiday
But where is it hot in January? Where can you go to enjoy the beach and the sun as long as you can’t describe the weather other than “brrr”?
Here is our list of recommended places for those looking to warm up during the first month of the year.
Tenerife in January
Tenerife is warm in January
The Canary Islands have good weather all year round due to their geographical location, close to the coast of Morocco.
Tenerife is a popular choice. It is not hot in Tenerife in January, but during the day you can expect plus 25 degrees Celsius and it is usually dry, and the water warms up to 20 degrees. Therefore, in Tenerife you can comfortably spend your holidays in a sunny winter.
Fly to Tenerife from Moscow. Flight time: about 7 hours, after which all the fatigue from the flight will more than pay off with a snow-white (naturally without snow) beach.
Sharm El Sheikh in January
You can warm up in Sharm El Sheikh
Sharm El Sheikh is located on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, which means that summer is here all year round. January is one of the coldest months, but you can still expect 22 degrees Celsius, which is much nicer than -6 in your home country.
Sharm el-Sheikh is a little closer than the Canary Islands, and you can fly from Minsk. Flight time is about four hours.
Sharm El Sheikh from Minsk.
Barbados in January
Paradise Barbados
For those of us who are willing to walk an extra kilometer (or several thousand kilometers) in a hot January, Barbados is a great option for winter sunshine. With an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and some of the most stunning beaches in the world, this is a holy grail for sun seekers.
Of course, to spend a hot Barbados January, you will have to fly a little further. When departing from Moscow and transferring in London, the flight time will be about 14 hours. But it’s worth it to soak up the sun on Barbados’ pristine, unspoiled beaches.
Cancun, Mexico in January
The beaches of Cancun will not leave anyone indifferent
Cancun is located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. And as such, it boasts beaches to die for (not literally, of course). January is one of the driest months on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. You will enjoy the summer 30 degrees Celsius on average, and the water warms up to 28.
The duration of the flight to Cancun (Mexico) from Moscow is about 13 hours, and if with transfers, then about 16 hours. Hop on a plane and in less than half a day, you can enjoy the Caribbean sun while your friends and co-workers stare at the frosty patterns on the windows of chilly offices!
Dominican Republic in January
Is the Dominican Republic a small paradise on earth? especially in January
Dominican Republic is amazing and more importantly in January it is beautiful and warm. Weather with a temperature of 23 degrees and above, about the average – ideal for a beach holiday. So you can sit by the turquoise sea sipping cocktails while your friends look at your Instagram with envy.
Flight time to the Dominican Republic from Moscow is about 12 hours.
Sri Lanka in January
Sri Lanka
Our overview is closed by a country that is literally invented for relaxation, yoga and unity with nature while learning Zen. White sand and Indian culture create a feeling of heaven on earth, which you have found after a long search. The weather here is very sunny, the air warms up to 29-30 degrees, while the water is up to a comfortable +27 degrees Celsius.
Flight time to Sri Lanka from Moscow is from 9 to 10 hours without transfers.
Hot weather in January
In just half a day’s flight, you can avoid the January blues, feel the sun on your back and change the shivering winter weather to a sunny beach.

Where to go on vacation in Russia in January top 8 best vacation spots in January
Placement date:
03/14/2022
Where to go during the New Year holidays to spend them richly and interestingly? Go to rest for a few days on tours in Russia. Even in cold January, tourist trips can be exciting and memorable. And if your vacation is scheduled for the end of the month, the trip will also become budgetary – after the New Year holidays, the low season begins, when hotels and transport companies delight with affordable prices. The main thing that attracts travelers in winter is the opportunity to visit natural ski resorts, go skiing, snowboarding and snow scooters.
Sochi
Despite the fact that the city of Sochi is traditionally associated with the sea beach and summer holidays, thousands of tourists come here to relax in winter. The ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana, where lovers of winter holidays go in January, firmly holds the leading position in its niche, displacing Arkhyz and Dombay. And all because Sochi is the only place in Russia where mountains, frost and snow meet you at the top, and below, even in winter, the warm sun will warm you in cozy cafes on the sea coast.
Krasnaya Polyana
On the finest January days, it is no less comfortable than in summer to walk along the Sochi Arboretum, go for a walk to the Olympic Park and climb the mountains, from where snow-covered paths will lead to frozen waterfalls. Travelers are welcome at an ostrich farm, a trout farm and a dolphinarium. After relaxing in nature, it’s time in January to pay attention to excursions to Sochi museums and exhibitions, which few people get to in the summer.
All tours in Sochi –>
Karachay-Cherkessia
Winter Karachay-Cherkessia means skiing, snowboarding and… hot mineral springs as an alternative to cold and frost. There are two competing local ski resorts here, Arkhyz and Dombay. And if Dombai, where skiers aspired to go back in the days of the USSR, has long been known as a well-deserved ski resort, then Arkhyz, which appeared recently, has already given odds to its “big brother”.
Karachay-Cherkessia
The new resort attracts holidaymakers with modern slopes, a cable car with ski lifts, and comfortable mini-hotels. Fans of walks in the snowy surroundings will be interested in going to the observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences and seeing the ruins of Christian churches located in the valley of the Bolshoy Zelenchuk River. After resting in Arkhyz, you can go to Cherkessk, from where it is easiest to get to the bases with thermal springs. All of them are located near the capital of the region, and the closest one is the “Pearl of the Caucasus”.
All tours to Karachay-Cherkessia –>
Kabardino-Balkaria
In January, by flight Moscow – Nalchik, you can fly for skiing fun to Kabardino-Balkaria – the territory of the republic is surrounded by several peaks of the Greater Caucasus. In the Elbrus region, where tourists go skiing, freeriding and snowboarding, there are ski resorts Cheget, Adyl-Su, Bezengi, Elbrus-Azau. The bases where skiers have a rest are equipped with lifts and slopes of various categories of difficulty.
In the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria
In the Elbrus region, there is a cable car that will lift travelers to a dizzying height even in winter, from where a stunning picture of snow-capped mountain peaks opens up. In winter, lovers of relaxing in pools with warm mineral water go to the Aushiger thermal springs to relax. And even in January, there is nowhere for an apple to fall in the famous Chegem Gorge near the Blue Lake and waterfalls, which turn into real “icefalls” in the middle of winter.
All tours to Kabardino-Balkaria –>
Kamchatka
Kamchatka landscapes pop up in the memory from somewhere in childhood – thanks to the film “Sannikov Land”. Few will dare to fly to the other end of the country in January to see the most “unearthly” Russian peninsula. But on the other hand, a Kamchatka vacation spent among snow-covered hills, smoking geysers and thermal springs will leave an indelible mark on the soul and a real Far Eastern aftertaste.
Freeride in Kamchatka
The territory of the peninsula is surrounded by several seas, and the winters here are mild and sunny, although there is a lot of snow. The easiest way to get around in January Kamchatka is on snowmobiles and off-road vehicles. You will drive along the snow-covered paths of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve, get to the Even villages lost in the mountains, and see the Pacific coast. You will fly over volcanoes and valleys by helicopter, freeride on steep passes and go dog sledding.
All tours to Kamchatka –>
Buryatia
If you are not afraid of 50-degree frosts and are ready to spend January among the beauties of Southern Siberia, welcome to Buryatia, where tours are becoming more and more popular today. Buryatia is famous not only for the color of Buddhist cultural monuments, but also for its proximity to Lake Baikal with its coastal attractions. Fly at least for a few days to rest in Ulan-Ude from Moscow, from where the airliner will take you in 5-6 hours. The capital of the republic was built back in the 17th century, so many architectural sights have been preserved on its streets.
If in Kalmykia Buddhist temples are called khuruls, then in Buryatia they are called datsals. When the frosty air is cut through every day by the sounds of prayer drums, it creates a feeling of the junction of two worlds. Resting in Buryatia, you can go to Lake Baikal, visit a ski resort, and even celebrate the Buddhist New Year at the end of January.
All tours to authentic Buryatia –>
Karelia
The land that is beautiful and comfortable for recreation all seasons is Karelia. And regulars who go on Karelian tours all year round will break your stereotypes. Most of them will argue that in the cold season Karelia is even more beautiful than in summer. After all, in winter its forest thickets are covered with snow, from where clouds of midges and mosquitoes fly in during the warm period, preventing tourists from relaxing.
Ruskeala Mountain Park in Karelia
January in Karelia means frosty forests, frozen Ladoga and Onega, a marble canyon frozen in cold silence, mysterious mountain Vottovaara covered with snow. In winter, it will be difficult to get to the islands, but you can go dog sledding, visit the exhibition of ice sculptures in Ruskeala, and go to the Karelian national parks to relax. At the end of January, the ice on the lakes, where winter fishing enthusiasts flock, is the strongest – you can not only fish, but also skate and sled along the reservoirs.
All tours to fabulous Karelia –>
Kola Peninsula
Why not take a vacation in January from Moscow to the Kola Peninsula to feel the breath of Arctic ice? End of the earth, you say. Well, what about the northern lights, a pipe dream from a distant childhood? The best time to meet this polar miracle is the end of January-beginning of February. After all, rainbow flashes still need to be caught like a firebird, so a few days of staying on the Kola Peninsula is hardly enough.
Aurora borealis in Teriberka
That is why the village of Teriberka on the coast of the Barents Sea has become a bestseller among the Kola settlements. In Teriberka, from where the panorama of the sky opens most generously, the northern lights are fantastically colorful and long. And yet, relaxing in January on the Kola Peninsula, you can go to visit Santa in the “bookish” country of Lapland, ride a reindeer sled, conquer the Khibiny mountain range.
All tours to the Kola Peninsula –>
Arkhangelsk region
Despite the fact that the Arkhangelsk region is located in the north of the country, January is quite accessible for trips to this region. Arriving to rest in the regional capital even for one day, you can have time to get acquainted with the Russian north. Arkhangelsk is considered the place where northern Russia began. On the territory of the region, many architectural sights have been preserved – churches, monasteries, authentic wooden houses, imbued with the spirit of Russian antiquity.
The Ensemble of Wooden Churches in Nyonoksa (Nenoksa)
On your January trips around Arkhangelsk and its environs, you will be able to go on vacation to the homeland of Mikhail Lomonosov, visit the Malye Korely wooden architecture museum and the karst caves of the Golubino park, go to the Husky Factory and to the ski Mechka Park, where vacationers come to ride snowmobiles.

Best times to visit Tenerife for carnival fever and coastal walks
Once known for its wild nightly parties, Tenerife now boasts even wilder landscapes – and a million and one ways to embrace them.
Time your visit right and you can ride giant Atlantic Rollers, watch whales, hike through prehistoric laurel forests ripe for Tolkien imagination, stroll along volcanic beaches and cycle through cratered lunar landscapes with Mount Teide peeping over your shoulder.
Discover the planet’s most surprising adventures with our weekly newsletter, delivered to your inbox.
Whether you come to Tenerife for fiestas, outdoor adventures or lazy days at the beach, the island never ceases to surprise. Winter is peak season for those craving warmth and sunshine, but being so close to the North African coast the weather is fairly reliable all year round. Summer gets hot, especially when the Sahara Calima winds blow, while spring and autumn are perfect for venturing out and seeing a quieter, less crowded side of this insanely popular Canary Island.
Plan a trip in high season to soak up the winter sun (December to March; July to August).
Much of Europe may be wrapped in coats and shivering, but Tenerife is closer to the coast of Africa than Spain, and this difference is reflected in mild winter temperatures that rarely drop below 15°C (60°F) and sometimes a balmy 22°C reach (71°F). January is the driest month with hardly any rain, plenty of sunshine and clear blue skies refreshing travelers with vitamin D deficiency. The Atlantic is a bit chilly at this time of year, but the brave still take the plunge.
Keep in mind that the resort towns on the south coast are slightly warmer than the north where the weather can be more changeable. You’ll want to pack layers if you’re heading into the mountains or onto Pico del Teide, which is often snow-capped in winter. Heavy snowfall can mean the sudden closure of roads and paths.
Surfers come in winter to ride big scooters on the south coast. Whale watching on the Costa Adeje is terrific. Not only can you see the usual pilot whales and dolphins, but also migratory species such as fin whales, blue whales and humpback whales. Bird watchers are also in their element in winter.
Winter is a popular time of year to visit, especially February, when the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, goes wild with Latino beats, parades, sexy dance moves, and skimpy, glittery costumes for the carnival. Carnival here is second only to Rio, so expect crowds at larger resorts. During the Christmas holidays and during the carnival period you pay top room prices.
Also in summer, especially during school holidays, crowds increase and airfares and room rates increase. The island sizzles in temperatures as high as 31 °C (88 °F), although Atlantic breezes make the heat bearable. This is the time for beach bathing, swimming, kite surfing and wind surfing in El Médano. The island goes into fiesta and music festival mode and the resorts on the south coast are heating up their party scene.

Visit for festivals during the off-season (April to June)
Spring is when Tenerife takes a breather. Except for Easter, there are cheap flights and hotels and it’s generally quieter. It’s a glorious time to see the lush greenery and dotted with wildflowers of the peaks, valleys and gorges in mountainous areas like Anaga, Parque Nacional del Teide and Parque Rural de Teno in the island’s rugged north.
The days are getting warmer, with highs of up to 23°C (73°F), taking the chill out of the sea. You can expect the occasional shower, but these tend to pass quickly. The off-season is a great time for biking, diving, paragliding over volcanic landscapes and on mountain-to-coast trails like the Barranco de Masca.
Low season is the best time for quiet exploration (September to November)
Sometimes you will feel like you have Tenerife all to yourself in the fall. The summer crowds have fizzled out and room rates are falling. Flights may be less frequent but if you are flexible you can get some good deals. September is still quite hot, with highs hovering around 27°C (80°F), and the Atlantic has had all summer to warm up.
It’s a beautiful month for exploring, so combine the coast with hikes in the mountains, wine tasting in inland bodegas and culture in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the historic center of Unesco World Heritage La Laguna.
Bring waterproof clothing or an umbrella in October, which is by far the rainiest month in Tenerife. (Given how blissfully quiet the island is at this time, it’s forgiven for a downpour or two.) Surfing season runs from September through April.
Blue skies delight winter sun-seekers. January is the driest month and the beaches are bustling with travelers topping up their tans (not locals: they’re wearing padded coats!). Come for whale watching and big waves. Christmas celebrations roll into the new year on January 6 on Día de los Reyes Magos (Epiphany) with processions and gifts in resort towns like Santa Cruz, Garachico and Los Cristianos. The architecturally impressive Auditorio de Tenerife resounds to classical music. Key Events: Dia de los Reyes Magos, Canary Islands Music Festival
February is all about carnival
Ay ay ay! The whole island goes carnival-crazy in February, with glittering parades, parties and samba beats bringing Rio to the capital, Santa Cruz. Book well in advance to reserve a room. White puffed up with almond blossoms, the island looks beautiful. Hike the Almond Blossom Trail which starts in Santiago del Teide to see them at their best. Key Events: carnival
March has great weather with no crowds
Tenerife blooms and warms up in March, making this a great time for uncrowded beach days or inland hikes and bike rides. Folk concerts bring Canarian culture to life on the south coast of Arona. Key Events: Festival for Early and Baroque Music
In April, prices go up around Easter
Semana Santa (Holy Week) brings emotional religious processions to traditional towns and villages such as La Laguna, Güímar and La Orotava. April is a quiet month overall, but room rates and visitor numbers pick up around Easter. You’ll get the odd rainy or cloudy day, but plenty of sun too. Key Events: Semana Santa
May is beautiful and often overlooked
May is one of the most beautiful and most overlooked months in Tenerife. It’s mostly sunny and dry, ideal for planning outdoor escapades or just hanging out at the nearest beach. Cafe and restaurant terraces hum as the evenings warm. Santa Cruz de Tenerife hosts a huge May Day festival with balls, parades and food and craft fairs. The highlight is Día de la Cruz (Holy Cross Day) on May 3, with parades and costumed parties. Key Events: fiestas de mayo, MUECA
Spring turns to summer in June, with warmer temperatures, plenty of sunshine and refreshingly fewer crowds. Puerto de la Cruz celebrates San Juan (St. John) on June 23 with nightly beach parties, barbecues, bonfires, fireworks and music. The town of La Orotava is carpeted with elaborate carpets of flowers and sand for Corpus Christi. Key Events: Fiestas de San Juan, Corpus Christi
Fiesta season begins in July
It’s the height of summer and hot days mean you’ll want to be near the coast or in the cool of the mountains in July. Visitor numbers (and room rates) increase when school is out. This is fiesta season with festivals ranging from music to dance to film to folk. Puerto de la Cruz celebrates the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen and seafarers, with maritime processions on July 16th. Key Events: Virgen del Carmen, Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más
Temperatures reach their peak in August
The island is buzzing with people and parties in August when temperatures are at their peak, regularly hitting 30°C (86°F). It’s time to get going Playa (beach) but don’t expect a lot of space for towels. Flights are expensive and rooms are expensive.
The calendar of events is full to bursting. Pro windsurfers catch a breeze at the PWA World Cup in El Médano. Immerse yourself in the island’s culture with festivals such as the Fiesta de la Virgen de la Candelaria, which honors the island’s patron saint with pilgrimages and parades. Key Events: Feast of the Virgen de la Candelaria, Corazones de Tejina
Summer lingers and the Atlantic is nice and warm for a swim in September. It’s a peaceful month and one of the best for walking and cycling as the weather is still stable. September is harvest time and many farmers are busy picking almonds, figs and grapes. La Laguna is the center of the festival with its Fiesta del Santísimo Cristo, which hosts parades, parties, Canarian wrestling and big bang fireworks, and folk music concerts at the Sabandeño festival. The opera season begins. Key Events: Fiesta del Santísimo Cristo
Pack an umbrella in rainy October
October is Tenerife’s wettest month, but don’t let that put you off: Temperatures can still climb to a very comfortable 26°C (79°F), although nights are cooler. It’s a quiet month for hiking in the mountains or along the coast. In the west of the island, the village of Aripe hosts a fair to celebrate the almond harvest. Key Events: Tenerife Opera Festival
November is the calm before the holiday storm
November is true off-season and tourism slows to a trickle, a breath of calm before the Christmas festivities. The north can be cloudy but days are still warm making this a great month for a winter sun fix before the big crowds show up. It’s a month of celebrations: cheese, chestnuts and, at the end of the month, Fiesta de San Andrés (Feast of St. Andrew) new wine in Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava. Icod de los Vinos is home to the crazy tablas, where locals race down the city’s steep streets on greased wooden planks. Key Events: Fiesta de San Andres
December brings a festive mood
December is filled with festive splendor, fiestas and fireworks. Prices for flights, hotels, and crowds skyrocket as travelers flock here for Navidad (Christmas) and Nochevieja (New Year’s Eve). Key Events: Christmas concert in Puertos de Tenerife

April on the islands, like in Russia, is a spring month. In addition to swimming, the April weather on the islands favors a variety of excursions, trips and walks. You can also go on a jeep safari. include Eagles Park, Monkey Park and Loro Park, with its wonderful animal shows.

This is one of the most delightful corners of our blue-eyed planet! The Canary Islands are the pearl of the Castilian crown in the past and the pride of modern Spain. A paradise for tourists, where the gentle sun always shines, and the sea (that is, it calls to plunge into transparent waves. It is not for nothing that tourists from all over the world dream of coming here, at least for a short time. After all, the Canary Islands are beautiful at any time of the year (the weather for months is almost
Canary Islands: Composition
Islands lost in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean are of volcanic origin. But nevertheless, they amaze with their unique beauty and unique climate, recognized as the best on Earth. The archipelago consists of thirteen islands of different sizes. The main seven: Gran Canaria, Gomera, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Hierro, La Palma and Lanzarote. Six more islets are small patches of land with peculiar landscapes. These are Graciosa, Roque del Este, Alegranza, Lobos, Montagna Clara, Roque del Oeste.
Toponymy of the islands
The first names of the Canaries reflected the attitude of people to this divine place. Greek and Roman manuscripts, compiled by the greatest minds of the time, called them the Happy Isles, the Garden of the Hesperides, Atlantis. At that time, the Guanches tribes lived here – tall white-skinned people, whose small settlements hid in caves and rocky shores. The inhabitants of the round houses fiercely resisted the Spanish colonizers in 1496.
Virtual trip (Lancerot, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria)
Let’s make a virtual trip and visit the Canary Islands, the weather by months will be discussed by us later. So, the first on the way is the island of Lanzarote, whose landscape resembles the surface of the moon and space panoramas. It is worth visiting if only to realize how rich the fantasy of nature is.
Fuerteventura attracts with the longest coastline and proximity to Africa. Perhaps that is why it is so reminiscent with its heat and golden dunes. Gran Canaria, like a small continent, has collected on its territory vegetation characteristic of both Europe and the Americas. In the central part of the island, granite mountains rise for two kilometers, cut by deep ravines and gorges.
Features of Tenerife
Next, we invite you to visit Tenerife (Canary Islands). The weather here is always wonderful, for which the area is called the island of eternal spring. It is the largest in the archipelago and the most famous. It is notable for its majestic mountain range, black sands on the beaches and a giant extinct volcano. Cañadas del Teide has a height of two thousand meters, and the diameter of the crater is 20 kilometers. It is surrounded by a national park.
Gomera, La Palma and Hierro
Gomera is a mountainous and impregnable island. Steep precipitous coasts contrast sharply with the ocean surface. In the center, an emerald tent spread the Garajonay National Park. Hierro is a small, little-studied piece of land. But it is here that tourists rush who crave a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle. Luxurious tropical nature and a bay of indescribable beauty open to the eye from the top of Malpaso, which rises in the middle. The last island is La Palma, which has very steep coasts, amazing mountain ranges and lush vegetation.
The climate of the archipelago
More and more tourists choose as a place The weather by months presented in this article will help you choose the best time for travel. The climate here is moderately hot, and the air temperature stays around twenty degrees Celsius all year round. A little colder only high in the mountains on Palma and Tenerife. Winters are warm and mild, summers are not hot, and precipitation is moderate. As a resort, the Canaries are attractive all year round.
It should be noted that the weather conditions on individual islands vary in the north and south. Take the Canary Islands for example. The weather in the north is more comfortable, there is more greenery and rainfall. The southern part is characterized by sunny dry days. The explanation for this is simple: clouds that carry moisture are heavy, so they cannot overcome obstacles in the form of high mountain peaks. So they shed rains mainly in the north. On the highest peaks of the archipelago, even in summer, despite the high air temperature, you can see a snow cap.
Water temperature
The Canary Islands will always allow their guests to swim. Weather by months (air and water) is predicted by specialists on the eve of the tourist season. They compile special tables that help you choose the best time for your vacation.
The temperature of the water off the coast of the Canary Islands varies. For example, the southern and southwestern coasts of Hierro, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Homer and Palma warm up better, so the sea here is always several degrees warmer than in the north and northeast. These parts of the land are cooled by the Canary Current and the trade winds. You can pay attention to this circumstance: the closer the island is to the shores of the Black Continent, the warmer the water in the ocean.
Canary Islands in winter
Winter in these places bears little resemblance to the snow season. In December, tourists like to come here to celebrate the New Year and Christmas in an unusual setting. Indeed, your favorite holidays can be spent not over snowballs and snowman modeling, but on the beach. At this time, you can swim (the water warms up to +21°C) and sunbathe. During the day the thermometer shows +23, and at night – +19. But if you are going to go high into the mountains, then you should definitely grab warm clothes. It is much colder there, in addition, there is snow on some slopes.
January continues the festive baton started in December. The bright Canarian sun generously endows tourists with a chocolate tan and warmth, which the inhabitants of the northern hemisphere miss. There is snow in the mountains of the archipelago, which will remind you that winter reigns in the yard. Therefore, when traveling, you should take warm sweaters, jackets and shoes. The water temperature in the sea is kept at around + 20 ° C, during the day the air warms up to +23, and at night it only cools down to +18.
Winter is a great time to visit the Canary Islands. The weather in February is comfortable, making a sharp contrast with the Russian latitudes, where blizzards, snowdrifts and twenty degrees of frost reign. On the Spanish island territory, you can take a deep breath of fresh air, sunbathe (during the day the temperature rises to +23 ° C), take a walk along the coast in the evening (at night the thermometer shows + 18 ° C). The water in the Atlantic Ocean, of course, is not the same as fresh milk, but + 20 ° C is also not bad.
An archipelago of paradise in the spring
March is a good reason to visit the Canary Islands with your half. Every lady will be delighted with such a gift for International Women’s Day. In this month, as in all others, the sun does not skimp on the heat. Snowy peaks mostly get rid of the snow cap. But it is still cool in the mountainous regions of the archipelago, so experienced travelers are advised to stock up on warm clothes. The ocean beckons with transparent waves warmed up to +20°C. The air temperature during the day is +24, at night – +19.
The Canary Islands come alive and transform in spring. The weather in April is still wonderful. But tourists flock here for another reason. Airlines start the season of discounts, so the ticket is very cheap. Gorgeous beaches are filled with vacationers, because the temperature rises by several degrees. And what kind of atmosphere awaits those who have visited the Canary Islands? The weather in April is fresh and clean air mixed with the scent of flowers and a salty breeze. It is +25°C during the day and +20 at night. So pack your bags and hit the road!
The end of spring is the perfect time to visit the Canary Islands. The weather here in May is unusual. It may seem to the guests of the archipelago that the famous were created just to visit this piece of paradise. The purest air is filled with the intoxicating aroma of herbs and flowers and the salty taste of the sea. There is no sweltering heat: during the day the thermometer shows + 26 ° C, at night – +22. The water in the ocean warms up to +21.
Summer in the Canary Islands
This is the time for a measured and calm rest. That is why people who crave a serene pastime choose the Canary Islands. The weather in June will give you the opportunity to get a fashionable bronze tan on the fashionable beaches with white and black sand. It is interesting that when coming here, you can not use burn creams – the sun is not dangerous here and does not burn at all. Turquoise waves of the ocean warm up to +23°C.
The weather in the Canary Islands is quite hot in July. But still it is comfortable and pleasant. Even Fuerteventura – an island that is very close to the African Sahara – will not tire you with the desert climate. Its dunes and dunes, formed due to the hot wind from the Black Continent, are cooled by the underwater currents of the ocean. The water still warms up to +23°C, during the day the air temperature is +29°C, at night – +24.
The peak of the holiday season, which lasts all year round, falls on the end of summer. This is the hottest time to visit the Canary Islands. The weather in August, despite the high air temperatures (+31°C during the day, +25°C at night), remains comfortable. This archipelago compares favorably with the currently arid Turkey, Greece and other southern states. The Atlantic Ocean warms up to + 24 ° C off the coast.
Golden autumn
The beginning of autumn is no reason to ignore the Canary Islands. The weather in September differs little from summer or spring, except for a change in temperature. The thermometer drops to +27°C during the day and +22°C at night. Water warms up to +23°C. It gets colder towards the end of the month, but it will still be enough for a tourist to take light clothes with him: T-shirts, shorts, skirts.
October will delight you with warm sun and really summer days. Indeed, at the height of the Canarian autumn, the temperature during the day is + 26 ° C, and at night – + 21 ° C. The water is still suitable for swimming (+ 24°C).
Tourists come to the Canary Islands in November, because it is still warm and sunny here, and the temperature drops only a few degrees (+24°C during the day, +20°C at night). Ocean waves warm up to + 23°C, so you can swim, scuba dive, do water sports and have fun to the fullest.
Attractions of the islands
Visiting the Canary archipelago, you can not worry about the cultural and entertainment program. In addition to lazy lying on the sea coast, there is an opportunity to go on exciting excursions and boat trips, scuba dive and visit the mountains, learn the history of the islands from the architectural masterpieces of the past. Natural wonders in the form of national parks, reserves, picturesque gorges and small canyons will not leave anyone indifferent. Be sure to visit the cliffs of the Giants and the mountains of Anaga, Hell’s Gorge and Teide Park, Loro Park and Timanfaya. The pyramids in Guimard, the water park, the El Diablo restaurant on a sleeping volcano, the Cactus Garden are also worthy of your attention.

Unión Deportiva Granadilla Tenerife , commonly shortened as UDG Tenerife , is a Spanish women’s football club based in Granadilla de Abona, in the Canary Islands. The club plays in Liga F, holding home games at Estadio Francisco Suárez , with a 2,000-seat capacity.
The club was founded in 2013 as UD Granadilla Tenerife Sur and started playing its first season in the second division. It won its group but was finally eliminated in the promotion playoffs by Granada. In its second attempt, the club finished as runner-up of the Canarian group, but qualified for the promotion playoffs as the best second-placed team. Granadilla achieved the promotion to the top tier after eliminating Levante Las Planas and Real Betis.
nine0003
In its debut in Primera División, Granadilla performed a great season by finishing in the seventh position of the league table and, subsequently, qualifying for the Copa de la Reina, where it was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Valencia.
In November 2016, the club created a basketball section that made its debut in the 2016–17 Canarian regional league with the name of UD Hotel Médano, for sponsorship reasons.

Imagine a place where you can find everything a man wants for a vacation. This place does really exist in the Atlantic ocean and it is called Tenerife! This fabulous island offers amazing food, genuine gentle people, panoramic views from 3,5 km height, hiking across lava paths, exotic landscapes, and unique beaches. Well, let us introduce one of the gems of the Canary Islands…
Tenerife
Tenerife is one of the eight Canary Islands located in the Atlantic Ocean just near the west coasts of Africa, yet part of Spain. It is the largest and the most populated out of them, attracting an average of 5M tourists annually. One can reach the island easily by plane since there are two airports and most of the Airlines fly there at least on a seasonal basis.
Worth to be & see
I would recommend visiting “Puerto de Santiago” and “Playa de los Guios” in order to swim under the imposing “Los Gigantes”. Also, “El Duque” beach in “Costa Adeje” to have a taste of the luxurious side of the island. Moreover, be a local in the natural pools in “Garachico” and stroll around the picturesque village of “La Orotava”. Additionally, drive up to “Masca” to enjoy the view and hike the “Rabla de Castro”. Honestly, there are numerous else things to do but we ran out of time; four days were simply not enough!

Teide National Park
Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you will find (in fact almost impossible to miss, I would say! 😁) the highest peak of Spain Mt. Teide, the highest of the islands of the Atlantic Ocean, and the third-largest volcano in the world from its base.
There are three roads running across the Teide national park and leading to the cable cabin base and, thereafter, to the top of the volcano from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. I would suggest booking in advance your tickets.
Apart from that, all the way is a memorable experience, passing through forests and moonlike lava sceneries. Time permitting, worth cycling, hiking or camping at the park. I really regret that we couldn’t afford the time doing any of them.
Hungry?
Following Trip Advisor along with some research, we really did enjoy every food choice we made. In brief: “Tasca Tierras del Sur” for a truly fulfilling taste experience, “Bar Los Castillos” to feel like a local, “El Cine” for something fast and tasty, and “Varadero Viejo” to eat by the ocean. Seafood is ample and, of course, the local specialty “papas arrugadas” a must.
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES IN Tenerife
Accommodation
There is really an abundance of options; you can go from budget living up to 5-star all-inclusive hotels. Book in advance is always advisable but even if it is a last-minute call, there will be something definitely for you. In general, if you are looking for something lively, popular, and, perhaps, luxurious, focus on West- SouthWest of the island; otherwise, for something less touristic and more authentic get to the North.
Moving around
I will strongly suggest renting a car; plenty of affordable options in the airports, an impeccable road network, and extremely cheap gas (there is a special tax status!). Alternatively, if you are fit and not time-pressured, rent a bike.
Things I missed…
There are no excuses but for the first time visitor 4 days are simply not enough. What I desperately wanted to do? surfing (any kind), more hiking in Teide, visit Santa Cruz and San Cristobal de la Laguna, go scuba diving and visit the Siam Park I guess are only a few of them…
To me, definitely a place not only to visit again but to spend some time as a regular resident in the future!!!

Mount Teide is the most popular site in Tenerife. It stands 3.718m or 12, 198ft. It is highly recommended to visit due to the stunning view of the mountain! You can experience a lot of activities during your trip here, walking across the Canary Islands pine forest and the village of Vilaflor. And then you’ll reach the base of the cable car that will take you to the mountain with an altitude of 3, 500 meters. Whale Watch Tenerife
After a day in the mountain, let’s explore the ocean! On this trip, you’ll be able to see the beautiful whales and dolphins while seeing the stunning view of the ocean. Exploring the Anaga Mountains, you could spend weeks and still have so much left to explore. If you’re a hiker, there are plenty of hiking routes available. However, if you’re not into hiking, you can still explore the forests and coastline. Some areas can be experienced by the road that will make your road trip more epic due to the stunning view of lush forests and coastlines all in the mix.
These two are highly recommended trips on your day 2. However, if you want to explore more in the Anaga Mountains, then you can spend your whole day there if you’d like.
Day 3 – Weekend Guide to Tenerife, Spain
Jardin Botanico Historico La Concepcion
After days of thrilling adventures, it is recommended to relax on your last day. Where is the best place? In Malaga Botanical Garden! In this place, you can experience peace of mind while walking through 250,000 square meters of landscaped lands. Take pictures with tropical and subtropical plants. Rest is worse than captivity: coronavirus did not frighten Russian tourists | Articles
Despite the spread of the coronavirus, the Russians decided to go to Asian resorts for a long weekend dedicated to February 23rd. Ticket aggregators (Izvestia got acquainted with their data) record an increase in demand for flights to Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and other popular destinations – according to some, it is almost double. At the same time, the popularity of Hong Kong, Nepal and Malaysia fell by 2-3 times. nine0008
Can’t sit at home
The spread of the dangerous Chinese coronavirus has not forced Russians to stop traveling to Asian resorts. This follows from the data of ticket services polled by Izvestia.
During the holidays, the demand for air tickets to Indonesia (+90%) and the Emirates (+73%) increased sharply, Aviasales told Izvestia (the week with the departure of February 20–26, 2020 and 2019 was analyzed). Biletix recorded a similar trend for flights to Thailand (Phuket – plus 78%, Bangkok – plus 22%) and Vietnam (Nha Trang – plus 38%). The fact that those wishing to visit Thailand in the period from February 20 to 26 became significantly more (+ 31%) than a year earlier was also confirmed in OneTwoTrip. nine0008 Izvestia reference
An outbreak of pneumonia caused by a new coronavirus was recorded in December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Later, cases of infection with a long incubation period (up to two weeks) appeared in dozens of other countries – Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Canada, the USA, France, Germany, etc. As of February 21, more than 2.2 thousand people have already died from the new virus, 76 thousand cases of infection in China, and more than 1 thousand outside it. Since February 20, Russia has suspended entry into the country for Chinese citizens. nine0008

The Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) confirms that organized tourists (buying tickets on package tours) do not refuse trips to Asian resorts.
— Since February 23rd and March 8th are three-day holidays this year, we are seeing a surge in interest in buying holiday packages. These are Thailand and other resorts in Southeast Asia,” ATOR Vice President Dmitry Gorin told Izvestia. nine0008
According to him, hotels in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia have lost Chinese tourists due to the difficult epidemiological situation with the new coronavirus. Therefore, now they offer tourists more favorable conditions.
The leaders in rebooking tours to China are the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Thailand, Tez Tour press secretary Svetlana Baranova told Izvestia. According to her, the operators have freed up carrying capacity (aircraft. – Izvestia) due to the suspension of sales of tours to China, they were redirected to other directions. According to Tez Tour, in February, hotels in Indonesia offer significant discounts – up to 20%, Maldives – up to 15%, Turkey – up to 46% and Seychelles – up to 25%. nine0008
Photo: TASS/Anton Novoderezhkin
At the end of January 2020, when the situation with the outbreak of a new type of virus became critical, more than 5. 6 thousand Russian tourists were in China. In general, until the end of June, as previously reported by Rostourism, trips to China were booked with 32.7 thousand Russians. Since January 24, the agency, together with operators Anex Tour, Tez Tour and Rus-Tour, has stopped charter programs for the transportation of Russian tourist groups to China. nine0008
Aviasales told Izvestia that the situation with a dangerous virus spreading from the Chinese province of Hubei around the world affected the demand for flights not only in China (a drop of 4.5 times) and Hong Kong (three times), but also to Malaysia (decline in requests by half), Nepal (three times) and India (-6%).
Sochi and the Canary Islands
Tutu.ru, in turn, noted an increase in the number of booked tickets for the upcoming holidays to neighboring countries – Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan. Air traffic with these countries is traditionally growing, including due to active labor migration, Dmitry Gorin noted. And the demand from Russian tourists for trips to Armenia continues to increase, according to him, for several years in a row. nine0008

However, most (about 80%) of the air tickets booked and purchased for the upcoming holidays fall on domestic destinations , Izvestia was told in Tutu.ru. Sochi, Simferopol and Krasnodar became the most demanded of them. In the February rating of the most popular countries of this service, Uzbekistan ranked first, followed by Armenia, Germany, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Rounding out the top 10 are Italy, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Turkey. nine0008
Aviasales and OneTwoTrip told Izvestia that demand for flights to Germany, Italy and France has increased for the upcoming holidays.
The interest of Russian travelers to Tenerife (Canary Islands) has increased almost eightfold, there is also a triple increase in requests for flights to Belgrade and Brussels, a double increase to Tivat and Verona, Irina Ryabovol, a representative of the momondo.

Nice course although the greens were a little bumpy. Tricky layout, best to plot your way around. Good variety of holes and elevation changes. Pace of play wasn’t great on the front nine as the pair walking in front of us wouldn’t let us through even though we were in a buggy and had to wait on every shit. Fortunately they only played nine holes! Coukd use a mashall to speed things up.

I have played this course every year on an annual visit for 5 years. I have seen it grow and evolve. Current condition looks a bit dry. However and fortunately the course plays better than it looks. A few greens clearly have struggled with dry and hot weather. Mixed grass greens then become patchy. Again, however. Greens are receptive and reasonably quick. 2 more games this week will provide the usual challenges.

Agents of the Citizen Security Unit (USECI) of the General Corps of the Canarian Police on the afternoon of Friday, April 15, arrested an individual for an alleged crime of robbery with force at a house in the south western tourist resort town of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria. The man had been seen trying force several locks on doors of an apartment complex in the municipality of Mogán.
Agents discovered, among the belongings this individual was carrying, a Spanish DNI identity card that did not belong to him, that he apparently used to impersonate someone else. They located banknotes of various denominations, which, it is believed, may be counterfeits, which they seized for the purpose of making them available to the Forensic Documentation Experts and Documentary Experts of the General Corps of the Canarian Police for their assessment.

Apr, 2022 | News
The Guardia Civil Main Post in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Mogán, arrested a 42-year-old last March 11, allegedly the perpetrator of the crimes of arson and damage having set fire to their neighbour’s car causing damage to a residential complex belonging to a Community of the Property Owners in the town. The events occurred during the early hours of February 26, when the Puerto Rico Civil Guard were alerted to an incident at a duplex located on Calle Valencia, where a vehicle was on fire.
At the scene they documented a complaint (denuncia) and carried out an investigation of the facts. Subsequently, the complainant pressed charges, which led the president of the community, to also report the alleged forcing of a door into a room belonging to the community of apartments. The allegations were directly related, and so the police made inquiries based on a technical visual inspection of the vehicle, in conjunction with the appearance of possible witnesses, and analysis of images provided by the community itself. With all this, it was possible to determine that the perpetrator of the vehicle fire had also forced the doors of the community room, and that the suspect’s family lives in the house next door to the apartment where the car was set on fire and that they were in the family home on the weekend in question, allowing investigators to verify how the suspect allegedly forced the door of the community room and later caused the fire, setting light to the gasoline tank, which damaged the rear of the vehicle. Differences between the family of the alleged perpetrator and the community of owners appear to have been the motive behind the arson attack. Thankfully there were no major repercussions or damage to the property, and nobody was injured, due to the rapid action of the Guardia Civil patrol and later to the local Fire Brigade, given that the burning vehicle was parked in a private car park in front of the house, just in front of its only entrance, which could have prevented residents from leaving if the flames had spread to the dwelling itself. Once the police report was completed, the alleged perpetrator was arrested, and placed at the disposal of the Duty Magistrates Court of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The owners of the Puerto Bello apartment complex, in the popular tourist town of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, are claiming nearly one million euros from the Canary Islands Government for damages caused by some of a group of unaccompanied migrant minors who were being sheltered there for several months, ostensibly under the guardianship of the Canary Islands Regional Autonomous Executive. Featured Image: Puerto Bello damage, Image by @Rafaleonortega/CanariasAhora
According to the owners, some of the damage stemmed from the disturbances that took place on February 8 2021, which were allegedly organised by a man who had falsely claimed to be a minor. Sources from the Ministry of Social Rights have explained to independent news portal CanariasAhora that when the person suspected of being responsible for the riot was arrested, it was quickly proven that he was in fact of legal age. Several adults were suspected to be among the more than two thousand foreign children who arrived alone on the Canary Islands throughout 2020, a problem that grew in the Archipelago at the same time as unprecedented numbers of migrant arrivals were not able to be removed or to leave of their own volition, due to pandemic restrictions in place at the time. The main cause of these adults being placed among children in care was identified as being initial errors by the National Police at the point of first contact and the subsequent lengthy delays in carrying out age determination tests and obtaining the results. This prevented many youths, being cared from by the state, from being able to be sent to school until their age was officially determined. In fact, on the very same day that these disturbances occurred, misplaced adults were suspected of causing problems, which we had explained at the time following one of our many visits to this centre, and others, in the area: “95 percent” of current problems in migrant minor accommodations caused by those suspected to really be adults
Hermanos Medina La Herradura SL, who own the Puerto Bello complex, will demand the payment of the damages by administrative means, from the autonomous community, withdrawing their private accusation in the case against the young Moroccan whose trial was to be held this Tuesday at the Provincial Court of Las Palmas, but which was suspended due to a failure to summon some of the witnesses, according to sources from the Prosecutor’s Office. The lawyer for the complex, Álvaro Campanario, pointed out that the Prosecutor’s Office are claiming €10,092 worth of damage caused in the attempted riot, allegedly incited and led by the accused Ahmed H. , but that there were many more incidents that occurred in the apartments during the nine months it was being used as a temporary reception centre for unaccompanied minors arriving by boat. The contract between Puerto Bello and the Regional Government expired on July 31 with the complex once again beginning to operate as tourist accommodation, as of the end of 2021, according to court papers. During the time the property was assigned as an accommodation centre for unaccompanied migrant minors, it was under the supervision of the NGO, Fundación Respuesta Social Siglo XXI, who since 2001 have provided services and infrastructure in the field of childhood and youth social care, developing programs that range from educational and residential care for minors to the management of Nursery Schools, through the implementation of training and employment promotion programs for the young. The young Moroccan on trial faces up to five years in prison accused of crimes of public disorder, in competition with attack and causing damage, having allegedly led a small rampage through the facility, in the company of other residents, all minors, on the night of February 8, 2021. Full responsibility for the disturbances on that night have been placed squarely on the shoulders of the accused man, who had misrepresented himself as also being a minor, and who should not have been among the unaccompanied youths who were being cared for at the facility. According to the Public Prosecutor’s accusation, the defendant, carrying a wooden leg torn from a bed in one of the rooms, and in the company of four other minors – who also carried chains, wooden sticks and broken glass – intimidated the young residents of the complex, the vast majority of whom would not join their violent revolt, though he managed to get about twenty to follow him and make trouble. As a result of that night’s events, the defendant and the other minors caused damage to every floor of the Puerto Bello complex, breaking the glass in doors and windows, breaking all kinds of furniture and appliances, electrical outlets and light sockets, say the Prosecutor’s Office in their brief. The charges include details of how some minors threw objects, such as microwaves, chairs and tables, from the balconies of the rooms on the upper floors, to the lower ones, causing the educators present at the centre to have to hide to avoid being injured while they waited for the arrival of the security forces. The agents, when they appeared at the complex, observed the placement of barricades built with chairs, microwaves and glass smashed on the floor, the perpetrators having spilled soapy water to try to prevent access and their arrest, which took several hours, says the indictment. Unsubstantiated accusations of a failure to protect children An anonymous complaint, purporting to be from a group of workers at the centre, claimed that there had been some evidence of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation among the vulnerable residents, which occurred both inside and outside the establishment. According to the text, to which CanariasAhora has had access, at least three minors from the centre were suspected to have practiced some form of prostitution, both inside the establishment and also outside, with adults in the local area. According to these reports of unchecked exploitation, at least one minor was said to have also suffered sexual abuse, perpetrated by adults incorrectly accommodated there, who, despite the fact that their legal age had already been proven, had not yet been referred to another adult reception facility elsewhere in the Archipelago. The complainants furthermore claimed that the management of the centre were aware of these facts, but that they had “refused to request diagnostic tests for sexually transmitted diseases for the minors.” And it was this, theoretically, that motivated the complaint emailed to the Canary Islands social services and to the local town hall. It was specifically this anonymous complaint that led the Government of the Canary Islands to order two urgent inspections, which did not manage to obtain any proof the veracity of the accusations. A few days after the document became known in the media, the Las Palmas Prosecutor’s Office, through their Minors’ Section, called for those responsible for the appeal to testify. Minors continue to be moved from Puerto Rico while prosecutors investigate anonymous allegations
Puerto Bello investigation looks more closely as it emerges current director is newly appointed
The world’s largest tour operator, TUI Group, communicated on Thursday morning, to the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands. its strong commitment to the islands, confirming good expectations for the summer, with the arrival of tourists who will enjoy longer stays and spend more on vacations.
Regional Tourism Minister, Yaiza Castilla received the news, in a meeting held on Thursday morning, attended by the CFO of TUI Group, Sebastian Ebel; the CEO of Markets and Airlines, David Burling; and the director of Purchasing, Helen Caron, as well as the managing director of Tourism Board for the Canary Islands, Promotur, José Juan Lorenzo.
“The Canary Islands are a very reliable destination that has come out stronger, that has known how to do things well and that is better than before the pandemic,” explained Sebastian Ebel, who in fact announced that for the first time, this year, they will have more business in the summer than in winter on the islands.
The company’s finance director explained that they anticipate the summer season will bring 1.3 million tourists to the archipelago, the same number as before the pandemic, although with significant changes since these visitors will now on average extend their stay by at least one more day, going from 9. 5 overnight stays to 10.5, and are spending 20% more on average on their vacations due to booking higher quality rooms. “The destination has been able to take advantage of these two years of tourist ups and downs to improve its facilities and its offer, and make higher-class establishments available to customers,” acknowledged Mister Ebel. For Ebel, the work carried out by Turismo de Canarias has given rise to a destination that has all the necessary ingredients to be more successful than before the pandemic, even despite the war unleashed in Ukraine. “Although the war is turning out to be a nightmare, fortunately it is not having the expected impact on tourism as a whole, with the exception of countries like Poland or Finland, which are closer to the conflict,” he said. TUI Group figures TUI is the leading tourism group in Europe and one of the most important worldwide. It has a presence in more than 140 countries, has five airlines (TUI UK, TUI Netherlands, TUI Belgium, TUIfly (Germany) and TUI Nordic), 150 aircraft, three cruise ship companies with 16 ships, 1,600 travel agencies and a workforce made up of more 70,000 employees, of which a thousand are based in the Canary Islands, where the tour operator boasts 29 hotels. The group has a greater presence in Germany and the United Kingdom, although it is also important in the Nordic countries and in central Europe. With regard to the Canary Islands, in 2019, the pre-pandemic year, the five TUI airlines transported 2.5 million people to the Canary Islands from different European countries, which represented 14.2% of the total number of passengers arriving on the islands. Regional councillor Yaiza Castilla meets with Chief Finance Officer of tourism giant, TUI, Sebastian Ebel, who announced that this summer season they plan to transport 1.3 million tourists to the archipelago, who will extend their stay, on average, by one more day and spend 20% more than before the pandemic
“TUI is fully aligned with our sustainability strategy, which is why we have created a working group to continue advancing together on this path with which we intend to increase the quality and not the quantity of our tourism”, explains Castilla. “The Canary Islands are a destination that has all the necessary ingredients to be successful, even despite the war in Ukraine which, although it is turning out to be a nightmare, fortunately is not having the expected impact on tourist activity,” assured Ebel.

Mogán Policia Local say they stopped and arrested two pickpockets last week, after a day of surveillance, having received reports from Playa de Mogán, and subsequently a tourist whose belongings had been allegedly stolen in a pool bar, in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, the tourist resort town where they were eventually intercepted.
Puerto de Mogán control tower operators reported to the Policia Local the identity of two men suspected of being pickpockets. Hours later, an agent reported a possible pickpocketing, at the main Global bus stop, which he managed to photograph. The identity match was confirmed by the person in charge of the station, who was also able to confirm that the two men had left the scene in a vehicle. Minutes later, Policia Local received a call from a bar near the beach in Puerto Rico, reporting the theft of a wallet from one of their clients, who had been enjoying the day with his family. His belongings included £300, bank cards and a driving license. At about the same time, Guardia Civil intercepted the car carrying the suspected pickpockets, on Avenida Tomas Roca Bosch and requested the presence of Policia Local officers to carry out alcohol and drug detection tests. There the victim of the crime recognised the alleged perpetrator in the passenger seat of the stopped vehicle, who was arrested after an inspection of the vehicle uncovered the stolen belongings, which could be immediately returned to their owner. Policia Local required the driver’s driving license, but he stated that he did not have one and only provided an illegible document where his driving license number was supposed to appear. He was also asked to do alcohol and drug tests, which he repeatedly refused. Faced with this situation, a crime against road safety, the driver delivered an identity card from his country of origin but did not prove a place of residence on the island, essential to guarantee his location when his presence before the judicial authority is necessary, and therefore, he too was arrested.

Feb, 2022 | Mogán, News
Guardia Civil, from the Main Post in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Mogán, last Saturday, February 5, arrested a man and a woman, aged 31 and 19 years of age respectively, both with prior police records for crimes against other people’s property, on suspicion of a robbery with violence against two minors, committed in a shopping centre in Puerto Rico where they attacked the young people and stole their high-end mobile phones valued at about €1,600.
The arrests occurred following events on December 19, 2021, when the youths were at the back of a shopping centre in Puerto Rico, they reported that they had been attacked while sitting on a bench and a couple had forced them to hand over mobile phones without saying a word, say the Civil Guard in a press release. Later, they were helped by a Guardia Civil patrol, which verified that the minors had slight contusions all over their bodies, so they were referred to the Arguineguín Health Centre, in Mogán. Based on these facts, the Guardia Civil initiated an investigation, making inquiries about the time of the events and studying a series of images, and were able to identify the alleged perpetrators of the robbery and aggression, who were also identified by the victims. For this reason, the Civil Guard carried out a security operation, in coordination with the Policia Local of Mogán, that allowed them to locate and arrest the suspects during the night of February 5, when agents carried out reconnaissance on foot by the park on Avenida Tomás Roca Bosch in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, where the man and woman were arrested for the alleged crime of robbery with violence and intimidation. The investigation is still open in order to locate the two stolen terminals.

May, 2021 | Migrants Gran Canaria, News
A judge has denied any further continuation to migrant minors being allowed to be temporarily accommodated in the Tamanaco Apartment Complex in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaira ordering the removal of migrant minors within the next few days and weeks. The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria court of contention number 2 has reportedly rejected an attempt to suspend the timely eviction of the unaccompanied migrant minors who have been accommodated at the Tamanaco tourist apartment complex in recent months. The magistrate Mr. Ángel Teba García rejected a precautionary measure filed by the SAMU Foundation, the NGO tasked with caring for the children housed there, which opposed a resolution from the Mogán Town Council to evict when the contract was finished. On that basis, the court agreed to lift a suspension order, decreed back on April 15, and ordered the continuation with exiting the contract in a timely manner.
The SAMU Foundation filed a contentious-administrative appeal against the resolution, 1176/2021, issued by the Mogán town Council, dated March 15, which had requested suspension of the eviction and removal of minors, migrant youths, currently accommodated at the apartments in the tourist resort town of Puerto Rico. The plaintiff indicated in the appeal that “the order being challenged, would mean evicting 150 unaccompanied foreign minors, within fifteen days, who have not yet been taken in by the network of residential resources of the Autonomous Community.” However, according to the Ministry of Social Rights’ own “Report on the situation of the Tamanaco emergency measures aimed at the residential care of unaccompanied foreign minors“, prepared by the Director General for the Protection of Children and Family, the measures were due to be “concluded by April 31, 2021, or at the latest during the first weeks of May.”
** We are awaiting confirmation of the date from the original measures published in November, which were to be concluded by the end of April. Three separate sources have quoted the date April 31, though the month only has 30 days. We assume it to be a typo in the original report The order continues stating that “from the moment the landlord initiated legal actions, before the Courts of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, to resolve the lease contract”, which was the legal agreement and basis for the occupation of the property, the foundation and the Ministry of Social Rights were bound to have to contemplate the next move for these children. The court’s conclusion must be, they said, to entirely reject the appeal and support the removal of minors, because “the precautionary measure filed by the SAMU Foundation is therefore inappropriate.” The court pointed out that they had full knowledge that the contract must be concluded by that date, and also mentioned the incongruousness of the opposing positions of the Regional Executive and the Mogán Council in this conflict. Procedurally, said the judge, the only position that could be allowed, was to verify “the legality of the procedure and of the Resolution subject to appeal”. Concluding, the judge said that if it were his understanding “that the controversial Resolution is not in accordance with the law, he had to appeal it as Fundación SAMU has done” and clarified that “the Comunidad Autónoma de Islas Canarias” named as co-defendants, “had perfect knowledge of what was coming and did not appeal against the Resolution of the Mogán Town Council” pointing out that they cannot now do so “surreptitiously. ” The order states that “both the SAMU Foundation and the Executive had to have contemplated the instability for the foster care of migrant minors” in the Tamanaco Apartments. Speaking of the request for precautionary measures, itself, the judge ordered that “being that the suspension of the administrative Acts was an exceptional measure, the presumption of legality of [those acts] should prevail against the particular interest of the SAMU Foundation.” In essence the judgement lights a fire under the SAMU Foundation and the Canary Islands Regional Government’s Department of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth, who are responsible for managing the situation with migrant minors who arrive to the Archipelago. The judgement firmly orders the lifting of the eviction suspension for migrants accommodated in the Tamanaco complex, who are expected to have found an alternative within a matter of days, something that may well prove very difficult indeed.
**this article was edited to correct what appears to be a typo on the original date for the expected end of contract, April 31, a date that does not exist

Canary: what is this bird
02/26/2021
Around us
Canary finch or, in a simple way, the canary is a bird of the finch family. Canary native to the Azores and Canary Islands. About 90 thousand pairs of canaries live in the Canary Islands, and in the Azores the population is approximately 60 thousand pairs. Also, these birds live in Madeira, but their number there is much less than 5 thousand pairs. They tried to breed canaries in the Hawaiian Islands and Bermuda, but they did not survive there. Canaries were brought to these islands at 1930, and by the middle of 1960 all individuals had died. Today, the Canarian Canary Finch is found in Puerto Rico. What awaits this population in the future is not known. Appearance of the canary Finches reach 10-14 centimeters in length, and weigh from 9 to 24 grams, but the average weight is 15 grams. The wingspan varies from 20 to 23 centimeters. Males have a dark green plumage color with longitudinal dark strokes. The throat and upper part of the head are yellow-green. Their belly is white, and the lower part of the chest is yellow. The undertail is white with dark stripes on the sides. Brown-gray colors predominate in the color of females, diluted with black strokes. The plumage of females is not as bright as that of males. Juveniles have brown plumage with dark veins. Behavior and nutrition of canaries in nature Canaries live among bushes and trees. For these birds, areas with little vegetation are considered the most preferable. The Canarian Canary Finch lives not only in forests, but can also be found among the sand dunes. These birds live at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level. Canaries feed mainly on plant foods. Birds forage forage on the ground and among vegetation. The diet of canaries consists of weeds, seeds, fruits and herbs. Canaries also eat insects. Breeding of canaries Nests of canaries begin to be built in spring. The pair builds a nest on a tree, at a height of 3-4 meters from the ground, well camouflaging it among the leaves. The nest is constructed from twigs, moss and leaves. The bottom of the nest is lined with hair and feathers. In the Canary Islands, the nesting period is in March-July, but the peak of egg laying occurs in April. In the Azores, canaries lay their eggs in March-July, and the peak falls on the month of May. In Madeira, the egg-laying period coincides with the Canary Islands. Females lay 3-4 eggs, and the process of incubation takes 2 weeks. Young growth leaves the nest already 3 weeks after birth. Canary pet birds People often keep canaries as pet birds. As a result of selection, canaries with different colors appear. Most often, there are yellow canaries. But the Reds were bred artificially, by crossing a canary and a siskin. Also, canaries can have a yellow-green color. Birds of this species sing pleasantly, their singing is a chirping. Canaries are a symbol of the Canary Islands, as are date palms.

Read on for details on these best countries to visit in February.
Iceland
Photograph by https://www. nationalgeographic.com
The land of fire and ice, literally, Iceland is also the origin of many a myths of Norse, and the home of vikings. With its expansive glaciers and huge volcanoes (some even active), Iceland has become a very coveted tourist spot for those that have a hunger for natural wonders of the world. The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis is another feather in Iceland’s hat, becoming brighter and more easily visible in the month of February, which also happens to be one of the last months for this wonder to fill the sky. With an average low temperature of -2°C and high of 3°C, Iceland is not the coldest at this time, and also hosts some of the longest days.
Things to Do:
Start with the protected areas of glaciers i.e. Snæfellsjökull and Vatnajökull National Park. The feeling and scenery might also renew memories of the Night’s Watch from Game of Thrones. For fans of this HBO hit, there is also Thingvellir, where the show is shot. For Northern Light spotting, you can try the Reykjavik skies, Seltjarnarnes or even Faxafloi Bay (very less lights and almost no pollution). Half a mile away from the capital city of Reykjavik is the Puffin Island that is known for its colonies of the cutest, cuddliest puffins. You can take a tour of this place, or head to Dynjandi Waterfall for some quiet, peaceful time. Also, great attractions include Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, Peace Tower and Valley of Thor. You can also go to Faxaflói Bay to see whales and dolphins. In February, you can also treat yourself to the famous music festival of Iceland – SONAR, go for the Winter Lights Fest and celebrate Valentines Day in Blue Lagoon. This month is also ideal to dip in geothermal pools, explore ice caves and visit natural springs.
How to Reach:
Iceland’s major terminal is the Keflavik International Airport for flights coming in from International destinations. Iceland Air and Iceland Express are two of the most significant airlines owned by the country. When going from India, one-stop fights can be availed from Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore. You can also use ships or cruises from Northern Europe but airways are the best.

Where to go to rest in winter: Ideas for travelers
Cold winter evenings are especially necessary for heat and sun. At the same time, it is desirable that the prices for accommodation and flights are not burdensome for the budget. An additional advantage if a visa is not required to visit the country.
States located in the following regions meet these criteria:
in Southeast Asia;
in Hindustan;
in Africa;
in South and Latin America;
in the Middle East.
Besides swimming in the warm sea, I am interested in a rich excursion program. Therefore, I always try to choose destinations where popular attractions are available to tourists, as well as acquaintance with local culture and traditions. The question of where to go in winter is solved simply.
List of countries for winter holidays
The list of resorts where you can spend time on the beach and see interesting places is quite extensive. My list includes both expensive destinations that are suitable for a comfortable stay, as well as cheap options for budget travelers.
United Arab Emirates
Flying to the Emirates is easy on your own or with a package. A visa for Russians is not required. The water in the Persian Gulf remains warm until the end of December. The tourist infrastructure is well developed here. There are many hotels for every taste and budget, water parks, clean and spacious sandy beaches. Dubai is my favorite in the UAE. This is a metropolis where it is safe and comfortable to relax. In malls during sales, you can buy interesting things cheaply. nine0003 The UAE has clean and spacious sandy beaches.
Turkey
An excellent option for an inexpensive trip – familiar Turkey. You won’t be able to swim in the sea: the water near the coast cools down to +12…+17°C in winter. But prices for good hotels are falling, so it’s easy to find great options for an economical vacation. Winters in Antalya and Alanya are warm, and the number of tourists is small. At this time, you can visit the sights, take leisurely walks and enjoy the healing sea air. I like to choose expensive hotels in Turkey in winter, which are not available during the peak season due to the high price. nine0003 Turkey is a great travel option.
Zanzibar, Tanzania
On the tropical island of Zanzibar, it is recommended to relax in January or February. At this time, the weather is hot, rains are extremely rare. More comfortable beaches are located mainly in the north of Zanzibar. Here the infrastructure for tourists is better developed, there are expensive hotels. In the north there are more cafes, shops, tour agencies. While on the island, you need to remember about the precautions.
Zanzibar is recommended to visit in January or February. nine0070
Only bottled water can be drunk and used for hygiene procedures.
Thailand
Thailand, beloved by Russians, is a good option for an inexpensive but rich vacation. Tourists are attracted by good weather, low prices, and an abundance of exotic attractions.
Instead of the usual Phuket and Pattaya, I recommend going to one of the following islands:
Phi Phi;
Koh Chang;
Samui.
Thailand is a good vacation option. nine0002 There are fewer tourists, clean beaches and impressive nature. It is also worth visiting the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand – Bangkok. This is a city where you can see many impressive temples, skyscrapers or go shopping in shopping malls.
Vietnam
For a winter holiday in Vietnam, you need to choose the southern part of the country. At this time, it is warm and dry here, rains are extremely rare. There are many natural and historical attractions, and the price level is lower than in neighboring Thailand. For short trips, it is convenient to rent a bike, for long-distance trips I recommend using a slipbus. Not very comfortable, but remembered for a long time. You can visit Vietnam without a visa. nine0003 Vietnam contains many attractions.
Malaysia
Faraway Malaysia is suitable for beach and sightseeing holidays. A visa is not required for Russian citizens. The country is not the cheapest. Prices here are higher than in Thailand. For a beach holiday, it is better to choose the islands of Langkawi and Penang. It often rains on Tioman in winter. I also like the capital – Kuala Lumpur. I advise you to stay here for 2-3 days to walk around the center, see the Petronas towers, beautiful mosques, go to the Batu caves, located near the city. nine0003 Malaysia is suitable for sightseeing holidays.
Sri Lanka
An exotic island with many long sandy beaches and an extensive choice of hotels, well suited for relaxation and sightseeing. In winter, it is better to choose resorts located on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. At this time, comfortable weather is established here and the probability of precipitation is low. Although citizens of Russia require a visa to visit Ceylon, it is not difficult to obtain it via the Internet.
Sri Lanka is an exotic island with sandy beaches. nine0058 Philippines
In most of the Philippine Islands, winter is the height of the tourist high season. White sandy beaches, bright tropical nature, rich underwater world – tourists from all over the world go here for this. Only in the Philippines you can swim with a whale shark and see unusual animals – tarsiers. Housing and food prices are low. The largest part of the budget is occupied by air tickets.
The Philippines has vibrant tropical nature.
Maldives
Vacation abroad in the Maldives is a dream of many travelers. The archipelago is famous for its sandy beaches, colorful underwater world and luxurious resorts. Rest here is not cheap, so not for everyone. There are no historical and architectural sights in the Maldives. nine0003 The Maldives is famous for its colorful underwater world.
The main pastime of tourists is beach holidays, boat trips and snorkeling.
Cuba
Far Cuba is attractive not only for its warm ocean, but also for a good selection of interesting sights. For settlements with tourists, a special currency is used – cookies. Housing and food prices cannot be called budget, and the service is far from the level of Turkish hotels. However, the tropical nature, the hospitable attitude of the locals towards the Russians, and the original culture compensate for these shortcomings. It is convenient to move around the island in a rented car. nine0003 Cuba has a distinct culture.

what you need to know about traveling in the off-season, readers’ personal experience
My husband and I have three small children. They need the sun and vitamins, so we try to go to the sea more often.

Any trip for a large family is always expensive. Therefore, we rest in Abkhazia in the off-season: from November to April it is cheap, warm and there are few tourists. You can also go there with an ordinary Russian passport. nine0003
Abkhazia is a partially recognized republic
Georgia considers Abkhazia its own territory, while Russia considers it a separate state. In the UN resolution, Abkhazia is called a part of Georgia. If you are going to go to Georgia after Abkhazia, we advise you to study Georgian legislation.
In the article I will tell you how much it costs to relax in Abkhazia during the cold months and how to organize such a trip.

Why go to Abkhazia in winter
Winter and off-season in Abkhazia resemble spring in Russia. In January and February, it averages +8 °C, in March +15 °C, in April +20 °C. At the same time, there is a lot of greenery in the cities: palm trees, bananas and other exotic plants grow everywhere, which are interesting for children to look at. Mimosa blooms in early spring in Abkhazia. nine0003
In winter, renting an apartment is on average two times cheaper than in summer. In June, they ask for 1000 R for a room, and in February they rent it for 500 R. You should look for housing in advance only for the holidays, the rest of the time most hotels, hostels and apartments are empty. When we chose an apartment for the last trip, the owner simultaneously wrote to me both on WhatsApp and by e-mail. Apparently, he was afraid of losing a rare client.
/abkhazija_travel/
How much does a holiday in Abkhazia cost? Once, the husband and eldest son even managed to take a dip. The water temperature was +12 °C, and the air temperature +18 °C. Children joyfully ran around the beach in their swimming trunks. The locals looked at us with surprise and strongly recommended wrapping up the children. But no one got sick, rather the opposite: after a day on the beach, the children stopped coughing, which started back in Russia. nine0003
A trip to Abkhazia has its drawbacks. The country has many ruined buildings and little entertainment for children, such as carousels and cinemas. The service in local cafes and shops is unpretentious: many Abkhazians do not care whether the client is satisfied with the service. Sometimes I was annoyed by their overconfidence. But in general, we did not pay attention to these little things.
In winter, the weather is changeable — I advise you to take both swimwear and demi-season jackets
Where to go
In winter, tourists stop in the cities of Gagra, New Athos and Sukhum. They are located next to the main highway, so they are easy and quick to get to. There are even more attractions. nine0003
We stayed twice in New Athos. In my opinion, it is located more successfully than other cities. New Athos is an hour and a half drive from Sochi, Sukhum, Gagra, thermal springs and Lake Ritsa. There are many attractions that are interesting for children, there is a hospital and several playgrounds. But in winter in New Athos, many cafes are closed, there are no ordinary goods, and prices are higher than in Sukhum. For example, raincoats in New Athos cost 250 R, and in Sukhum – 70 R. Therefore, we often went to Sukhum for groceries. nine0003
70 Р
there is a raincoat in Sukhum. In New Athos, the price is three times higher
Sukhum has all the establishments and institutions that a resident of an ordinary Russian city is used to. There are grocery stores like Magnit, pharmacies, children’s shops and beauty salons. The downside of the developed infrastructure is the typical urban bustle. There are a lot of cars and people in Sukhum who are in a hurry on business. Therefore, we preferred to go to the capital only for entertainment and shopping.
Money
The Russian ruble is used in Abkhazia. We knew that there were few ATMs in the country and many of them did not work, so we withdrew 20,000 R in advance. This was the right decision. It turned out that it was impossible to withdraw cash from Sberbank Maestro-Momentum and Maestro Student cards at Abkhazian ATMs. Sberbank of Abkhazia explains this by restrictions from the Russian Sberbank. The only ATM that dispenses cash from the Maestro card is located in a duty-free shop on the border of Russia and Abkhazia. nine0003
If there is a payment terminal in a shop or cafe, then both “Maestro” and “Visa” are accepted there. But there are few such places. Basically, you can pay by bank transfer in chain stores like Magnit or large cafes.

How to get to Abkhazia
It is beneficial for a family with children to get to Abkhazia by train: children under 5 years old travel free of charge, and children under 10 years old travel for half price. We traveled by train to Sochi, from there we got to the border by taxi, and in Abkhazia we traveled by minibus. nine0003
The easiest way to get to Abkhazia is the direct train Moscow – Sukhum No. 306m. You don’t need to change trains or fend off annoying taxi drivers at the border. Travel time is 38 hours.
The schedule of the direct train was inconvenient for us, so we went to Sochi on the double-decker branded train Moscow – Adler No. 104v, it takes 23 hours to Sochi. When we bought tickets, Russian Railways reduced the fare in a compartment car by 50%.
/rzd-bonus/
How to get a free train ticket
Three seats in one compartment cost us 7000 RUR. A ticket for an adult cost 2800 RUR, for an older child — 1400 RUR. Tickets from Rybinsk to Moscow and back cost us another 6000 RUR. I bought tickets only one way and that was a mistake. When we returned to Russia, there were no more discounts, so we had to buy a reserved seat at the price of a compartment.
Return tickets must be printed in Russia: this cannot be done at the railway stations of Abkhazia. If you do not take care of this in advance, you will have to go to Sochi and take the train there. nine0003 In February and April, a flight to Sochi costs an average of 3,500 R A package tour for a week with a flight and accommodation will cost 16,000 R for two. This is the usual price for winter Hot tours cost 4000-5000 R. Such offers must be caught: they are quickly sold out
, the schedule can be checked on the Sochi-Transport website. There are also minibuses at the airport, they go to the border when there are enough passengers. The fare costs 60-150 R per person. nine0003
Taxi drivers are waiting for tourists near the airport. For a trip to the border, they ask from 600 to 2000 R. This is expensive: we caught a taxi for 300 R. The driver said that this is the average price for a trip to Yandex Taxi.
300 R
average price for a taxi ride from the airport in Adler to the Abkhazian border
There is also no end to taxi drivers at the border itself. They are ready to deliver tourists to any point in Abkhazia. These taxi drivers are very annoying, and it is almost impossible to stop a conversation with them. We crossed the border on our own and got on one of the minibuses that are always waiting in the parking lot just above the checkpoint. nine0003
The fare on the minibus depends on the destination. To get to Gagra and New Athos costs 150 R per person, to Sukhum — 250 R.
Housing
We were looking for a room or a house for five. Hot water was a must. It is not available everywhere – it is better to clarify its presence in advance. We also wanted a washing machine and a heater in the house: on the last trip, we were freezing in the evenings.
On average, housing costs from 500 to 4000 R. We found a room in a hostel on Booking for 800 R per day for everyone. A room for 8 days cost 6000 R. When the owner saw our large family, he gave us an additional discount of 400 R, although the price suited us anyway. nine0003
Tourists are looking for accommodation on the sites “Rest in Abkhazia” and “Go-Abkhazia”
From the hostel to the sea 15 minutes on foot
For this money we received two double beds, a shower with hot water, a toilet with a washbasin, soap and toilet paper. The room had an air conditioner that warmed up the room when it got cold. In the yard there was a shared kitchen with a kettle, microwave and washing machine. Cleaning was not included in the price.
We were alone in the hostel. We were visited twice by friends from Sochi, who were accommodated in the next room. It was great to sit together in the summer kitchen, but when all the rooms are occupied, the kitchen must be cramped and uncomfortable. nine0003 The room is small, but it had everything you need. When the weather was fine, we had breakfast in the yard.
The only disadvantage of the hostel was its location. When we arrived, it turned out that the house was on a mountain, and the road to it was paved with paving stones. We were terribly tired from the road, so we decided not to look for another place to live.
We did not regret the decision: by the end of the second day, we got used to getting up and even began to enjoy it. The youngest daughter was carried in a sling in turn. When we got tired, we used a taxi. A trip lasting a couple of minutes cost 150 RUR.
As a reward for a long climb, we got a good view of the sea and the nearby monastery
Transport
Everyone travels around Abkhazia on minibuses. They are caught right on the track. The fare on the minibus is not fixed. On average, for the road from the border to New Athos and from New Athos to Sukhum, we paid 150 R. If you bargain, you can reduce the price by 20-30%. So that the driver does not “forget” about the agreements, it is better to pay at the entrance. Younger children – they are 6 months and 4 years old – were allowed to be transported free of charge. The fare for the eldest son at the age of 8 depended on the mood of the driver. Some demanded full payment, others gave a 50% discount or allowed him to ride for free. nine0003
Many people travel by hitchhike. They can often be reached cheaper than by minibus. For example, five of us traveled from New Athos to Sukhum on a ride for 400 R, and on a minibus for 600 R. There are no fixed prices. When asked about the cost, drivers often answer: “Give me how much you don’t mind.” If you do not want to catch a ride, you can order a taxi from the Garuda Express service.
You can rent a car near the border. On average, a car costs from 2000 R per day. If you take a car for several days, it will be cheaper – 1700 R per day. Friends who live in Abkhazia warned that the local traffic police are not always objective towards foreigners driving: they can stop and offer to “resolve the issue on the spot.” There are many gas stations on the territory of Abkhazia, but the quality of gasoline leaves much to be desired. Locals recommend refueling at the Podsolnukh gas station. Gasoline costs 3-4 R cheaper than in Russia. nine0003
/car-rent/
How to rent a car abroad
Before you decide to rent a car, you should know that the driving style of local drivers is very aggressive: they often violate the speed limit, overtake each other on turns, suddenly brake and stop right on the road to chat with another driver. At the same time, there is no OSAGO and other insurance in Abkhazia.
We have never seen child seats in taxis or cars. I fastened the older children with seat belts, and drove the baby in a sling. If you are going to Abkhazia with children, I advise you to take a child restraint with you. You can also try to find a driver with a child car seat, the owners of hotels or hostels usually have their contacts. nine0003 Abkhazians rent out old Mercedes. We decided to travel by minibuses – it’s quieter and cheaper
Sights
It is difficult to travel long distances with small children, so we tried to explore the surroundings as much as possible.
There are many free and interesting places in New Athos. Every day we found new entertainment within a radius of 2-3 km from the hostel, for example, we fed the swans in the park or wandered around the abandoned railway station. If you or your children love abandoned buildings, you should like Abkhazia. It is full of old estates, which over time have turned into real jungles. nine0003
From paid entertainment – New Athos Cave and Anacopia Fortress. In the cave you can see stalactites and stalagmites. Entrance for adults costs 500 R, children under 8 years old are free. For photography, you need to pay an extra 50 R. In winter, it is better to check the schedule of the cave in advance: excursions are held if there are 40 people. We learned about the tour in a couple of days.
Site of the New Athos cave
Anakopia fortress on the site of New Athos
Anakopia fortress is located on the Iberian mountain. Adults like the beautiful view of the sea, while children like to explore the ruins of an ancient fortress. But such a walk is a test for a family with children, because you have to climb 3 km uphill. Entrance costs 200 R per person. nine0003 In the cave, you can touch the stalagmites with your hands. We would not have dared to climb the Anacopia fortress if not for our friend. He came from Sochi and helped to get to the top of the mountain with the children
In Gagra, I advise you to visit the playground created by the young Zurab Tsereteli. It is located in a large park where turtles live in ponds. This is not an ordinary playground with swings and slides, but a complex of surreal figures laid out in mosaics. Unfortunately, like most objects in Abkhazia, the park is in a neglected state: the cable car does not work, and many fountains are destroyed. True, now it is being restored. Entrance to the park is free. nine0003
There is a monkey nursery in Sukhum. We did not have time to visit it, but judging by the reviews, the children like it there. The nursery has not changed since Soviet times, so the conditions for keeping animals are not ideal. If you think that children should not see animals in cages, this place is not for you. The entrance ticket costs 150 R for a child and 200 R for an adult. Monkey food can be bought right there for 100 RUR.
This is what the park in Gagra looks like in February. In winter, it is completely deserted – you can walk for hours and not meet anyone except lonely souvenir sellers
In winter in Abkhazia, you can swim in hot springs with a water temperature of +40 °C. My children and I were in the village of Primorskoye near New Athos and in the village of Kyndyg.
It is convenient to swim with children in the springs in Primorsky: the pool is not large and not deep, and the water temperature is comfortable. Entrance costs 150 R for an adult and 100 R for children over 7 years old. As a mother of many children, they let me in for free. The cashier offered the ticket himself, winking conspiratorially.
Among the minuses of Primorsky is poor infrastructure. In the locker room there are unstable benches and an old heater, which is easy to get burned. The same water flows from the shower on the street as in the springs, so you won’t be able to wash well. nine0003

Benefits for families with many children in Moscow
There are several cafes near the bathhouse where you can drink herbal tea. When we arrived, there were neither visitors nor staff in the cafe. If I were going there for the second time, I would take hot tea and a snack with me.

Another popular source is located in the village of Kyndyg. We were there several years ago. In addition to pools, there are hydrogen sulfide showers. Water flows from them from a great height – the shower looks like a waterfall. There is a bench under each shower. nine0003
Usually there are a lot of people in Kyndyga, because tourists are brought there by whole buses. Such a trip costs about 500 R per person. An entrance ticket for independent tourists will cost 150 R. You will have to pay 50 R for storing things in a cell.
150 R
Kyndyg at night with friends. Hydrogen sulfide waterfalls under the open sky in dim light impressed us, and scared the children. If you want to take kids to Kyndyg, I advise you to go there during the day. nine0003
Both sources are hydrogen sulfide, so you can stay in the water for a maximum of 10-15 minutes. It is believed that such bathing helps with skin diseases, allergies and joint diseases. For a noticeable effect, 8-10 procedures are needed. Contraindications: oncology, tuberculosis, diseases of the cardiovascular system. Before visiting, I advise you to consult a doctor.
There are few people in Primorsky in winter. Besides us, only a few old women went swimming
Food
There are few tourists in Abkhazia in winter, so most cafes and shops are closed. There were 6 shops, 10 canteens and cafes in New Athos. Only the Mzymta cafe worked according to the usual schedule, the rest opened and closed when it was convenient for the owner. nine0003
On average, a soup costs 150 R, a main course costs 200 R, a cheburek or samsa costs 50 R, a glass of freshly squeezed tangerine juice costs 20 R. At first glance, it seems that it is inexpensive. But lunch in a cafe for a large family cost at least 1000 R, so we mostly ate at home. In theory, you can agree with the owner of the cafe that you will have breakfast and lunch only in his establishment, and get a discount for this. But it was inconvenient for us.
1000 R
average lunch for a large family in a cafe in Abkhazia
The choice of goods in shops in winter is small: Abkhazians prefer to eat and sell local products, but there are not so many of them. We enjoyed trying local pickles, smoked meats and cooking soups from them. On average, it took us from 700 to 1500 R per day to eat. In local stores we bought:
smoked meat, 300 g – 100 R; salty cheese, 0.5 kg – 300 R; pigtail cheese, 200 g – 100 R; fish, 1 kg – 200 R; wine, 1 bottle – 150-200 rubles.
In winter, Abkhazia does not have its own vegetables and fruits like bananas and apples. On the shelves is the same as in Russia. Cucumbers cost 100 R per kg, tomatoes – 150 R. Abkhazians are waiting for their harvest and do not eat store-bought, so in general the choice is not rich. nine0003
Only local tangerines, persimmons and lemons are in abundance on the shelves. At the beginning of winter, there is more choice, and the quality is higher. By the end of winter, rotten and frozen tangerines may come across. Locals still sell them, so I advise you to be more careful. We bought 2.5 kg of tangerines for 50 R.
At the end of winter, persimmons are sold only in dried form. A bundle of 10 pieces costs 100-200 R, depending on the size and quality. It is very tasty, but it also needs to be carefully chosen. A good persimmon is soft and dense, similar in texture to marshmallow. The skin is covered with powdered sugar, which naturally releases when dried. nine0003 I made jam from crushed tangerines right in the hostel Unscrupulous sellers sometimes sprinkle flour on persimmons – I advise you to try powdered sugar before buying
It is difficult to feed children in Abkhazia if they are used to certain foods. It is better to buy baby food in Sochi or Sukhum. My friend came from Sochi for one day with a backpack full of baby food and was glad she didn’t have to look for baby food. I was breastfeeding the baby, so I didn’t take food with me.
The older children had to eat porridge and macaroni and cheese. We replaced their favorite pizza with chebureks, and for breakfast we drank yogurt, the Abkhazian national fermented milk drink. It resembles kefir or curdled milk. A liter jar costs 100 R. Milk is rare in stores and only ultra-pasteurized. nine0003
100 Р
costs a liter jar of matsoni
Our children are very fond of local sweets: puff pastry with sugar, huge meringues, shortbread cookies and nuts with boiled condensed milk. On average, a kilogram cost 250 R. Every day, the owner of the store treated the children with sweets for 5-10 R. Do not think that this is from great hospitality: hospitality is a kind of Abkhazian marketing. As a result, each time we left her with sweets for 150-200 R.
We ate salted cheese and smoked meat for breakfast and lunch. Sometimes we took them with us as a snack during a walk We bought food in Sukhumi stores to have a snack right on the embankment
Communication
At the border, you can buy a SIM card from one of the local telecom operators – A-mobile and Aquaphone. We paid 350 R for a SIM card, 650 R for calls and mobile Internet.
Perhaps it would be cheaper to connect the option for traveling abroad with your Russian operator. But I did not check it and, most likely, I overpaid.
Remember
Take cash with you: ATMs are rare in Abkhazia. Most likely, it will not be possible to withdraw money using the Maestro card from Sberbank.
