Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife
Playa del Duque, Adeje – Tenerife, Costa Adeje, Canary Islands, Spain
21.9km from Tenerife South Airport
“My friend and I had a great time visiting the RIU Palace. The hotel was absolutely spotless and so was our room. We had a lovely spacious room, on level 3 at the side of the hotel, which instead of a balcony we had a small patio which lead out onto a grassy area We didn’t expect to have much of a view, having not booked a sea view room, but we had a sea view one way, a view of the mountains in the other direction, and the barranco in front, it was perfect. The reception team were really efficient when checking in and out and were really helpful with any queries and questions, like booking a taxi to the airport and when we left the room key in the room. The waiters at breakfast and dinner were really friendly and chatty, and the food was lovely with so much choice in the buffet. Lots of food was cooked fresh in front of you! Everyday we went for dinner around 8pm and never had to wait for a table. We also always got a table next to the glass balcony/ balustrade overlooking the pool which was beautiful as the sun set. Such a great location for a hotel, straight out onto the promenade and beach. Not far at all from local beach bars, restaurants and shops. Easy to walk into other town like La Caleta, Fanabe and El Duque or there are plenty of taxis outside the hotel if you want to go further. All 3 pools outside and the indoor spa pool were well looked after and stunning. The infinity pool is beautiful! Plenty of sun loungers to choose from in an afternoon and lots of pool towels available. We wanted to give a special thank you to Idris, Elvis and another younger male waiter, with dark hair, who we didn’t manage get the name of. All 3 made made so much effort to come over every day and have a chat, and remember what you liked to drink. They went above and beyond to ensure we had such a memorable holiday. They all worked unbelievably hard, throughout the afternoon around the pool, ensuring you had all you wanted, and then worked late into the evening at the bar doing exactly the same. 4 days was definitely not long enough! We would both love to return!” “Another great stay.Always made so welcome by all the staff. Standard of cleanliness, service and food are what make us keep returning. I would like to see more English channels on the tv. I appreciate you do not come on holiday to watch tv but we were unfortunate to have two days of heavy rain and couldn’t leave the hotel and it would of been a help to be able to watch some tv other than bbc news programmes. Looking forward to our next visit in March.” “Excellent rooms, very spacious. Food in main restaurant had an excellent choice. Staff were very friendly. Good entertainment We would certainly recommend this hotel if you want a quiet, peaceful and tranquil holiday. The hotel catered for everyone very inclusive”

An island of dramatic contrasts
A notoriously festive destination, Tenerife is the biggest, most well-known of Spain’s Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. The volcanic island is characterized by rugged, steep coastline and miles of beaches, popular for kite surfing and swimming. Teide-Pico Viejo, Spain’s tallest peak, towers over the island, and its national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore Santa Cruz and the very modern Auditorio de Tenerife, reminiscent of Australia’s Sydney Opera House. Loro Parque boasts the world’s largest collection of parrots, and you can’t miss the striking bell tower of the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, the city’s oldest church. Learn about the island’s ancient inhabitants at the archaeological sites of Guanches or explore the mysterious step pyramids at Güímar. When you need a break, Tenerife also has an abundant variety of fresh fish, well-known cheeses, and renowned wines to savor.

worth the second try.
We actually had a hard time finding this place! I am not sure why but finally did on our second try. It is a great area to walk around and see the fountain at night with the lights. The whole area is very touristy but that didn’t change the fun

Lovely to be back
It’s was lovely to be back in Tenerife The hotel and weather was great and a must see is Lora Park. But the down size was that there was far too many people which is usual ,maybe it was there first back after covid like us or maybe it was the world Cup. Weather was brilliant and our hotel h20 Conquestidore was brilliant.

Nice, but nothing to rave about.
We have just come back from spending some time at Santiago 3. Checking in was fast and giving 3 euro per night cash for a safe was no problem. We got an apartment on the top floor a duplex one which wasn’t too bad for me at 65, but could prove difficult for other seniors. No point in asking for another room as it was made quite clear this was your room as the place was fully booked. Still the apartment had all the basic necessities although decor was somewhat dated. Mind and take pool towels and a kettle (A coffee perculator is there but the kettle is a whistling on the hob sort) I was glad to take my electric travel kettle at least I got my tea in the morning before changing into grizzly bear. Please note that this place is gated and you need your room key to get passed the gates..secure site it is not, people can come into the complex through the shopping mall below and it’s quite alarming that on one side of this free entrance takes you straight to the child’s pool area. Plenty of shops and eateries about. Please note there is extensive building work going on and this does get noisy also the amenities are again very basic, not what is mentioned in your travel brochure. We found that the shower was tempremental and hit and miss for a warm shower and what a danger it was getting out of the bath end trying to avoid falling in a bidet..was always on edge for hubby as he has had hip operations and one slip could mean his holiday over. To what we paid out it was sure a dissappointment and we now know we could get better for the money we forked out.. We will not be returning….

Gis A Clue!
Visited as 2 couples 25th Jan 23. It was the Elm Street nightmare scenario that sucked us in, being fans of the franchise. The disappointment was our shockingly bad performance as a team! We needed more clues than a clueless person from cluesville! Our host was ace & guided us through. The whole experience was a laugh a minute – trust me when I say this is a holiday must. In the words of big Arnie – I’ll be back!

The reason we come back each year.
One of the reasons we come to Tenerife each winter. Band brilliant as ever although Freddie absent at times for whatever reason. However gives Alex chance to show what a great guitarist he is. Repertoire changed a bit – a few more indie tracks, e.g. Dandy Warhols, Neil Young ( Rocking in the Free World ), Kings of Lion, Marilyn Manson etc. A couple of Metallica numbers which I find dirgy and lugubrious but seem to go down well with the audience. A mention for the ever welcoming and hard working girls behind the bar. A couple of negatives. Beer has just gone up to 4 euros but still worth it. Toilets in long need of some tlc. Keep on rocking guys and gals! See you later in the year.

It’s all going on at the Vulcan Hall
After an homage to Harry Houdini, look who’s coming to Vulcan Hall at the end of October in #Tenerife! Just had a really entertaining evening at #vulcanhalltenerife. com watching Mago Sun, top Spanish TV magician, illusionist and escapologist. A family show (here for a while) with lots of audience participation, both kids and grown-ups. And in a spectacular venue (below the Hard to miss Hard Rock Cafe) with really welcoming helpful staff. Que precioso! #costaadejetenerife #thingstodointenerife #magicshow #yosoytenerife

Nice venue
Booked a day here in November. it is located in a lively beachfront with stuning ocean view. You can pay €100 euros or 50. both gives you double bed but the €100 gives you front view beds facing the ocean. beds were confortable specifically the more expensive ones had the back rest. You can consume food and drink for the price you pay. I had a bottle of wine and food and water and still had money left. I enjoyed both the food and wine decent portion size and tasty. Staff were all lovely. Only thing i would point out for people like me who consider beach club as in Nikki beach type would be dissapointed in this place. Beds were forcefully shoved next to eachother. Music was just repeating base. Overal i would say if you are staying at one of the nice hotels its not worth going here.

Always visit Cactus Golf each year. Two 18 hole and two 9 hole. Great fun in lovely surroundings with mosaic tiled walkways, water features and cactus gardens. As some reviewer said, you can be round in twenty minutes if there’s just two of you in a rush. Go with friends and take your time.

So much fun we did it twice!
Six of us visited in May 2019, some of us have done a few escape rooms before and a couple had never done one.
We chose the Da Vinci Code room and all had so much fun doing it that we ended up staying to do the Pirates of the Caribbean room!
The clues are pitched at a great level – some are quite tough and really make you think and others are a little bit easier. It’s so well made and the host is really friendly and helpful, making the whoke experience amazing.
It’s really good value for money – give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!
Thanks for a really fun morning!

Best Thai back massage ever!
Was staying at the Jardin Tropical hotel across the road and discovered this place while buying a bottle of water in the supermarket next door. It´s hidden away but well worth a visit as the ladies really know what they´re doing, you can´t let just anyone walk up and down your back! I´ve got to say this was the best Thai back massage I´ve ever had, even better than the ones I´ve had in Thailand, so can´t recommend enough.

Once you have the bikes, you’ll have them for 24 hours. Let’s pedal! You can move freely around the island, discovering the diverse landscape that it offers.
If you’re passionate about nature, the laurel forest of the Garajonay National Park is a must, you won’t stop taking pictures! If you prefer the coast, we recommend the area of Playa Santiago. If you’re looking for plans that suit everyone, then you can admire the sunset from Valle Gran Rey.

INIBUILDS – INISCENE THE MARA SAFARI PACK MSFS FREE

Superb, great for helicopters and so much to explore flying up and down the rivers in the Masai Mara.
INIBUILDS – INISCENE THE MARA SAFARI PACK MSFS FREE
Shoaib
Super fun flying the piper cub around the airstrips around the park and the little details like signs and fences at each airfield is a nice touch. Great job iniBuilds.
FSXCENERY – KTUL TULSA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MSFS
Dack
Tulsa International Airport is my home base. This is a terrible representation of the airport. The terminal is a little bit better, but other than that, it’s missing the largest American Airlines maintenance base’s hangars. The Oklahoma National Guard is not represented. It’s missing numerous FBO’s. And it’s missing three large Bizjet Hangars among other notables.
LATINVFR – FORT LAUDERDALE KFLL P3D
David
Its a beautiful scenery, but it has performance issues. At dense settings, it is very heavy on frame rates, and when coupled with Aerosoft or PMDG products, it can become unbearable, and I have a 12GB 3060T. The elevated RWY 10R is an impressive design attempt, but the transition from flat to slope is abrupt and rough. Lastly, the dynamic lights don’t work upon arrival. They do work fine if you start your flight at KFLL.
Overall, very beautiful scenery with a “heavy” hit on performance (unlike LFVR KMCO which performs beautifully!).
TABURET – GERMANY 10 M MESH MSFS
Uwe
Good one. No stutters no morphing for me.
Please Mr. Taburet update your older mesh as well.
Thx
Nice detail, frame rate friendly.
Term- inal interior is not modelled, but I‘m not interested in that anyways.
Fin- ally a good quality airport in Romania! It nicely complements the handful of existing freeware airports (like Baia Mare and Satu Mare)
VIRTUALCOL – JETSTREAM SUPER 31 FOR FSX
L R
I have FS2004, XP11, Aerofly, P3D V5.3 and MSFS and my utilisation of each of is determined by a number of factors. FS2004 is still my favourite largely due the large amount scenery and add-ons which still look good on a fairly high spec rig, which is dedicated to FS2004. I bought the FS2004 version of this ‘aircraft’ and have now have the FSX/P3D version which runs in P3D V5.3 without any issues that I have been able to discover at the time of this review. The interior is still not up to the standard of Carenado, but it is reliable (unlike the Falcon 50 by said developer)
Hav- ing spent hours with the MOM for the real aircraft it appears that that the fuel capacity and consumption need tweaked via the config file (see LM P3D guide on this) but that aside everything else appears to conform at price expectation and this ‘aircraft’ is a terrific value proposition. It’s a subjective view but Virtualcol show so much promise and I will be duplicating my FS2004 purchases for P3D.
SPOGI INC – LOCKHEED L-1011-500 TRISTAR XP11/12

It’s amazing to Update this aircraft, If everything finish, maybe I can give it to 5 star

Facts about Spain: Time zone background
Why do we change time? Since when do we do it? Is it useful? There are lots of questions regarding this topic, and one in particular that almost everyone wonders about: why don’t we have the time zone that we should according to our geographical location? In this blog post we will answer those questions. Keep on reading!
As weird as it sounds, in the 19th century every Spanish province had a different time. The clock was marked by the local meridian and so, for example, between Galicia and Mallorca, which are in opposite sides of Spain, there were almost 60 minutes of difference. It was only in 1901 that it was decided that the official time in Spain would be the Greenwich Meridian Time.
Why do we have a Summer and a Winter timetable?
William Willett, a famous constructor, started promoting the benefits of getting up earlier to make the most of the sun. This was at the beginning of the XX century, but the idea didn’t materialize until the First World War. During this period, in order to save resources, both the Germans and the Americans decided to go through with this plan to have an extra working hour in factories without spending money in electricity.
But… how does it work in Spain?
During summer time, Spain is in the UTC +2 zone (Canary Islands in the UTC +1 zone), while during the five months that the Autumn-Winter schedule lasts, Spain is in the UTC +1 zone (Canary Islands in the UTC zone 0). In conclusion, during Summer we get to live up to 2 hours apart with respect to the sunlight.
Even though there are different versions that explain this fact, the most popular one says that Francisco Franco imposed this change in 1941 to align the Spanish time zone with the one in Germany.
What are the benefits of this?
Saving energy: According to data from the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), each household saves 6 euros a year in electricity thanks to the change in schedule. Basically, the whole point of changing the time is using less artificial light.
Sleeping better: Many experts associate the change in schedule with the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that plays a key role in your natural sleep-wake cycle. With fewer hours of light, your body apparently increases the secretion of this hormone.
What are the cons?Body alterations: With the change of time our habits and schedules remain the same, but an hour before or after. This change can affect our biological clock, adapting to sleep, mood and performance.
Companies can spend more: When talking about energy savings many times do not take into account that many businesses open from 10am to 10pm. All of them would spend more in the afternoon by having an hour less of daylight during the winter schedule.
Environment: Even though some people believe that changing the time saves energy, others believe that doing this has the complete opposite effect, since it gets dark earlier and people need to use it more during the afternoon. This would mean a higher consumption of energy and, therefore, more contamination. What do you think of changing the time? Do you think it has more benefits or more cons? Let us know! Luck causes not only popularity, but also a large number of enemies. Such people are openly envied, hated and admired at the same time. The owners of this surname seem to have left the page of the most expensive glossy magazine, their clothes correspond to fashion trends, and the latest mobile device is in their pocket. These people easily support small talk, skillfully flirt with the opposite sex. But this is just a beautiful wrapper and the prejudiced opinion of others, an image is fixed for such individuals, which they must follow all their lives.
A person with such a surname is helped by his parents to build his personal life. They can give a new home, a small cottage outside the city or a cozy house. Such expensive gifts impose obligations on sixes that can weigh them down. Family life is not very important for them, but at the same time they are not indifferent to children. The lack of a well-established life is the main problem of family life. Such people find it difficult to endure the need to build their own dwelling, lengthy repairs or household work. Such individuals treat betrayals with contempt and try to remain faithful to one person. They do not like cooking, so they are happy to trust this to their soulmate.
Bearers of this surname often choose creative professions without clear deadlines and deadlines. They form their own schedule and do not carry the business style to the spirit. Such individuals can come to the office at the end of the working day and leave it early in the morning. The best professions are stylist, artist, designer, writer, journalist. They will also be able to achieve success in the business sphere, but this is most often temporary. If a person has managed to earn the first capital, he will quickly disappear due to wrong steps and strategies. Therefore, the best option would be to make money and end the business.
Responsiveness, optimism, cheerful disposition and love of life. They are able to see only the best in the worst situations, they know how to charm the interlocutor and are endowed with natural charm.
In Russian, this surname is written like this: Corralejo If we try to translate this surname into English (make a transliteration), then we will succeed – korralexo
Illegibility when compiling your style and image is definitely inherent in you. You value convenience and quality more than fashion trends for a given period. The most basic rule for you when choosing clothes is that the outfit or suit makes the right impression on others and presents you as a person who can definitely be trusted. After all, this status in the company is very important for you.
You try in every possible way to realize your abilities and have a bright personality. This desire often determines what choice you make. There are enough abilities, which means that the methods for their implementation can be different. Therefore, you partly have to choose what is more important and priority for you. It’s good if you can focus on one thing and follow a specific goal, devoting maximum time and effort to it. It is also very bad when you are trying to keep up with several hares and do not want to give in even with a small chance of success. In this case, you risk losing everything and being left with nothing. Follow your heart, it does not take into account the external attractiveness and temptation with which the life of artistic personalities is adorned. It is it that will point you to the very path and chance, try to hear and listen to it.
You have affection and intense love. In family life and love, you are always faithful to your soulmate, often you sacrifice yourself and your own interests for the sake of your loved one for a long time. You show the same attitude towards close friends and relatives. Others miss your shortcomings, because attractiveness, charm and passion for life cross out all the disadvantages. Do not focus on the shortcomings and weaknesses of your own children, if their number is three. Try to praise them as often as possible, encourage them and help them develop their imagination. Serious and respectable people can appreciate you as an egotistical and eccentric person due to the fact that you are sometimes too talkative, especially since finding a topic for conversation is not a problem for you.
You are extremely charming, romantic, and can communicate your feelings in such a way that they do not cause a response. You feel the full taste of life and continuous euphoria when you experience true love. You always find wonderful features in each partner, and this always delights and amazes. But as soon as the relationship loses its sense of novelty, becomes obligatory and mundane, you immediately burn out and lose interest. You endure the gap quite easily, but the memories of it remain with you for a long time, as you like to analyze every little thing and detail, compare the past and the present.

Beaches
How is the beach in Puerto de Santiago? Well, Puerto de Santiago is a small area right in the middle of a larger resort that includes Los Gigantes and Playa la Arena, and this place does not have its own beach, but others are nearby, so you can easily walk there. These are the beaches of Playa Chica and Los Gigantes. However, if you don’t feel like hiking, you can enjoy the natural pools in the area. They are located on the seafront in the center of the resort and offer a unique sailing experience. nine0003 youtube.com/embed/LmQR09g_0Sg?feature=oembed” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen=””>
Hotels
Royal Sun Resort with some of the best sunny views in Puerto de Santiago. I want to point out that the hotel is quite high up, so if you want to walk to and from the beach every day, this is not ideal, but other than that it’s an amazing hotel.
Nightlife
Speaking of nightlife in Puerto de Santiago, some bars are open until quite late and most of them offer a very friendly family atmosphere. There are no late night clubs here; the area is more of a relaxed, family-oriented resort. nine0003
If you’re not sure if this is the right place for you, check out my guide to where to stay in Tenerife.
Restaurants and Bars
Puerto de Santiago has a large centrally located shopping area where you will find most of the restaurants in the area. Here you can find everything from traditional Spanish dishes to international and oriental cuisine. In addition, next to the cliff side you will find some excellent restaurants overlooking the ocean. nine0027
How to get to Puerto de Santiago
Puerto de Santiago is 41 km from Tenerife South Airport:
Public transport: 8 euros (transfer in Costa Adeje)
Shuttle bus: 10 euros
Taxi: €62.30
Puerto de Santiago is 106 km from Tenerife North Airport:
Public transport: €17
Shuttle bus: Not available unless included in your package holiday
Taxi: 105 euros
Here are some important things you need to know about buses, shuttles and taxis at Tenerife airports before booking tickets or traveling to Tenerife.
What to do near Puerto de Santiago
If you’re staying in the area, go and see the black sand beaches of Playa la Arena and the amazing beach and cliffs of Los Gigantes. Otherwise, my best advice is to rent a car, as I always do, since this place is a bit isolated from everything else to do, like Siam Water Park and all the nice places to visit and see in the mountains. Cars in Tenerife are inexpensive and will also help you get around the area as it is quite hilly and can get tiring in the summer heat. nine0003
